TECNO has launched the TECNO POP X 5G in India, adding a new option in the budget 5G segment. The phone focuses on battery life, durability, and connectivity, with a few features aimed at areas with weak or no network coverage. Notably, the brand had also released a 4G variant with the same name in India just last month.

The device is powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 6400 processor built on a 6nm process. It includes two Cortex-A76 cores clocked at 2.5GHz and six Cortex-A55 cores at 2GHz, along with a Mali-G57 MC2 GPU. It comes in 4GB and 6GB LPDDR4x RAM options, both paired with 128GB UFS 2.2 storage. Storage can be expanded up to 2TB using a microSD card. The phone runs Android 16 with HiOS 16 on top.

Up front, the POP X 5G has a 6.78-inch HD+ display with a resolution of 720 x 1576 pixels. It supports a 120Hz refresh rate and a 240Hz touch sampling rate, with brightness going up to 560 nits. The rear camera is a 13MP unit with an LED flash, while the front camera is 8MP with an f/2.0 aperture.

Battery is a key highlight here. The phone packs a 6500mAh battery with support for 45W fast charging. It measures 167.9 x 79.3 x 8.18mm and weighs 210g. The build includes a 6-series aluminum camera module, and the device is drop tested. It also comes with an IP64 rating for dust and splash resistance. Other hardware features include a side-mounted fingerprint sensor and a 3.5mm headphone jack.

On the connectivity side, the phone supports 5G SA and NSA bands, including n1, n3, n5, n8, n28B, n38, n40, n41, n48, n77, and n78. It also supports 4×4 MIMO, carrier aggregation, dual 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi ac (2.4GHz and 5GHz), Bluetooth 5.3, and multiple navigation systems including GPS, GLONASS, Galileo, and QZSS.

One standout feature is FreeLink Communication. It allows users to make calls, send texts, and share files directly with nearby devices without a mobile network, up to 1.5 km in open areas.

Pricing & availability

The TECNO POP X 5G is priced at Rs. 15,999 for the 4GB + 128GB version and Rs. 17,999 for the 6GB + 128GB model. It will be available on Amazon India starting April 24.
