Manhattan girl’s basketball crowned Centennial League champs

TOPEKA (KSNT) – There’s a new leader of the Centennial League.
In Manhattan’s 61-46 win over the Washburn Rural girls team, the Tribe was crowned the Centennial League champs for the first time since 2018.
The Junior Blues would be unable to cut the Tribe’s lead by no more than seven points in the fourth quarter, leading to Manhattan’s sweep over Rural this season.
The Tribe had four players reach double figure scoring in the win. Evie Banks led the team with 16 points, followed by Bailey Busch and Kat Ball with 14 a piece and Delaney Larson with 10.
Brynn Anderson would lead the Junior Blues with 13 points, followed by Ella Hirschi on senior night with 10.
