Samsung Galaxy XR getting 3 new features in the US
Samsung announced the rollout of three new features to the Galaxy XR Headset in the US. The company continues to work with Google to evolve the Android XR and ecosystem to elevate experiences on the new form factor.
Galaxy XR is developed by Samsung, Google, and Qualcomm together. The Headset falls under Samsung’s umbrella and features an operating system crafted by Google and an application processor tailored by Qualcomm.
Recently, Google disclosed these upgrades for Android XR, and Samsung’s press release has also arrived. Samsung is bringing three new features to the Galaxy XR, including PC Connect, Likeness, and Travel Mode; details:
PC Connect
Available as Beta, the new PC Connect app unlocks new levels of productivity, creativity and entertainment. It allows you to pull in a single application or your entire computer’s desktop into your Galaxy XR’s immersive view.
PC Connect also lets users check email, browse the web, or join a video call. Thanks to its compatibility with Windows PCs, the XR Headset supports more flexible workflows and collaborative possibilities.
Additionally, Galaxy XR owners can play games like “Cities: Skylines II” on a large immersive virtual screen for a bird’s-eye perspective.
Likeness
Android XR’s new Likeness app (Beta) lets users choose how they appear. You can pick from a wide range of choices, from stylized Galaxy Avatars to more lifelike and expressive digital representations on Google Meet.

Travel Mode
If you’re a frequent traveller, Samsung’s Travel Mode will be your personal assistant. Enabling the Travel Mode allows you to create a personal cinema or immersive workspace. You get a stable view of watching a film or reviewing presentation slides.
The rollout began on December 8 in the US and South Korea.
These capabilities make Galaxy XR more powerful, personal, and practical. Samsung and Google remain committed to democratizing access, fostering creativity, and building a future in which technology adapts to users’ needs.
