Report: Hütter top candidate for Frankfurt coaching job
Adi Hütter has emerged as the favourite to return as Eintracht Frankfurt in succession of Albert Riera, Kicker sports magazine reported on Monday.
Austrian Hütter coached Frankfurt 2018-2021 and led them into the Europa League semi-finals in his first season and the German Cup semis a year later. He was last in charge of French league side Monaco where he was axed in October.
Frankfurt finished eighth and outside the European berths in the past season. Spain's Riera, who succeeded Dino Toppmöller in February, had to go despite a contract until 2028.
Kicker said that Frankfurt board member for sport Markus Krösche recently met with Hütter in Majorca. The report said that Krösche did not want to comment on the issue.
Former Bundesliga player Matthias Jaissle, currently in charge of Saudi Pro League club Al-Ahli, is reportedly another candidate for the Frankfurt job.
