More Android phones will get Quick Share-AirDrop this year
Google has announced that its Quick Share feature will soon work with Appleβs AirDrop on more Android phones. Until now, this feature was only available on the Pixel 10 series. Soon, many Android users will be able to send files, photos, and videos easily to iPhones, iPads, and MacBooks.
Last year, Google made Quick Share work with AirDrop, but it only worked on Pixel 10 phones. Now, Google has turned Quick Share into a full app on the Play Store. This means it can be installed and used on other Android devices, not just Pixels.
Eric Kay, Googleβs Vice President of Engineering for Android, confirmed at a press event in Taipei that Quick Share-AirDrop compatibility will expand to many more phones in 2026. He reportedly (via Android Authority) said Google worked carefully to make sure it works smoothly with iPhones, iPads, and MacBooks.

The company is also partnering with other phone makers to bring the feature to more Android devices soon. Google has not yet shared a full list of phones that will get the feature. So far, the company Nothing has confirmed it will bring Quick Share-AirDrop to its devices. Qualcomm has also hinted that phones with Snapdragon processors may get it.
Soon, Android users will be able to share files with Apple devices just as easily. Quick Share, working on more Android phones, will make sharing files between Android and Apple devices much simpler.
