We are in December 2025, and Samsung has officially confirmed that the upcoming Galaxy S26 series will launch with the stable One UI 8.5. This update will bring several new features and enhancements, along with new devices.

This information was shared by Samsung via a newsroom post on its official website. The company also mentioned that One UI 8.5 will first be available on the Galaxy S26 series, which is expected to launch in the first half of 2026.

But ahead of the Galaxy S26 series, Samsung had already started rolling out the One UI 8.5 Beta update for the Galaxy S25 series. This update allows users to try out the new software’s feature and help Samsung refine it for the upcoming device.

Not only this, but Samsung also announced the One UI 8.5 update will eventually be available for other older Galaxy devices as well. After the Galaxy S26 series launch with a stable version, Samsung will begin rolling out this major update to more Galaxy phones.

Here’s the official statement:

“The official version of ‘One UI 8.5’ will be installed on the Galaxy S series to be released in the first half of next year, and will be sequentially applied to existing Galaxy devices thereafter.”

The One UI 8.5 Beta Program is a crucial step in shaping the final software, as it enables Samsung to gather feedback from current Galaxy device users and ensure everything works smoothly for the new Galaxy S26. The overall aim is to deliver a stable version without bugs and fully polished.
