Ex-Freiburg coach Streich has no return plan, praises Kompany stance

Former long-time Freiburg coach Christian Streich has no comeback plans while he had plenty of praise for Bayern Munich boss Vincent Kompany.
Streich said on Sky TV that he had difficulties at first with his daily life after stepping down in 2024 after 14 years as coach and more than two decades overall at the club.
But nowadays he is "not unhappy to sit on the couch and watch a match."
The former Freiburg man, 60, was a TV pundit for Sky for the first time at the match between leaders Bayern Munich and Eintracht Frankfurt.
Streich welcomed the clear stance of Kompany against racism which the Bayern coach had made on Friday in an extraordinary 12-minute statement after alleged racist abuse of Real Madrid's Vinicius Junior by a Benfica player earlier this week in the Champions League.
"It knocked me off my socks. We must keep it in mind exactly as Vincent Kompany said," Streich said of the Belgian's speech in which he also criticized Benfica coach Jose Mourinho.
