Obsidian Entertainment has created a lot of great roleplaying games over its 23-year history (the studio's anniversary was yesterday, by the way), but there is little doubt that its name, in the minds of the gaming mainstream, is synonymous with that of Fallout: New Vegas. As of yesterday, exactly eight years have passed from that Bethesda E3 2018 when Todd Howard showed teasers for both The Elder Scrolls VI and Starfield. That move was specifically geared toward reassuring Bethesda fans that they weren't abandoning single player games with the release of the multiplayer game Fallout 76.
