Huawei appears to have taken a completely different approach with its “Air” model than Apple: practicality over chasing extreme thinness. The upcoming Mate 70 Air is rumored to pack a much larger battery and a more capable camera system than the recently launched slim phones, including Apple’s iPhone Air. Hands-on photos are already circulating online, and pre-launch reservations are reportedly open in China.

A hands-on image posted on Weibo shows a design somewhat similar to the Mate 70 Pro, with rounded edges and a slightly curved middle frame that should make it more comfortable to hold than phones like the Galaxy S25 Edge. While the display is out of focus in this particular image, a previous leak pointed to a micro-quad-curved glass design — a detail that lines up with what we can see here.

The leaks don’t include exact dimensions yet, but based on the early specs, the Mate 70 Air isn’t likely to compete directly on thinness. Instead, it’s doubling down on battery life — literally. The Mate 70 Air is rumored to ship with a massive 6,500 mAh battery, more than twice the capacity of the iPhone Air (3,149 mAh). Charging speeds are expected to top out at 66W via USB-C.

The camera setup also looks noticeably more advanced than what we’ve seen on other slim-focused phones. According to leaks (and the live photo), the Mate 70 Air will feature a triple-camera system: a 50 MP main, a 13 MP ultrawide, and an 8 MP periscope telephoto. A multispectral sensor is also expected to help deliver more accurate color reproduction in photos and videos.

The Mate 70 Air is tipped to be officially introduced on Thursday, November 6. As with many recent Huawei launches, the phone is expected to remain exclusive to China for now, with no signs of an international rollout.

Samsung’s Galaxy S26 series is still months away, but new leaks are steadily tightening the picture of what the company’s next flagships will look like. The latest clues come from two separate accessories: screen protectors and a protective case. Together, they quietly confirm some of the biggest external design changes Samsung is planning for 2026.

The first leak comes from PhoneArt, who shared what appear to be tempered-glass protectors for the Galaxy S26, S26+, and S26 Ultra. All three pieces show the same thing: rounded display corners across the lineup. That’s a subtle but notable shift, especially for the Ultra model. On the current Galaxy S25 Ultra, the corners are sharper, giving it a boxier look. With the S26 series, Samsung seems to be pulling everything into a more consistent aesthetic.

The protectors also suggest uniform, extremely thin bezels. The source cites an email allegedly sent to YouTuber PhotoRabz by a DJI “brand insider,” outlining a clear November timeline after what was supposedly an earlier October target. No screenshots or documents have been published, so the claim isn’t fully verifiable — but it does line up with DJI’s recent global rollout pattern.

This comes as DJI continues expanding beyond cameras and drones. The company just launched its first Romo-series robot vacuum internationally, and the Osmo Mobile 8 is expected to move beyond China soon. With multiple product lines in motion, a late-November slot for the Osmo Action 6 doesn’t seem far-fetched.

If the leaks are accurate, the Osmo Action 6 could deliver the most meaningful imaging jump since DJI introduced the Osmo Action 4. YouTuber and engineer Luke Maximo Bell has revealed his latest project: a drone powered entirely by solar energy, with no battery, no capacitor, and no backup storage of any kind. The feat comes just days after he and his father Mike Bell attempted to reclaim the Guinness World Record for the fastest drone with their 585 km/h Peregreen 3. This week, Luke shifted gears completely — from extreme speed to extreme efficiency.

To get a battery-free drone in the air, Luke kept the build as light as possible. He used a carbon-fiber frame and propellers, both for strength and to shave unnecessary grams. The star of the build is a long, rigid slat made up of 27 miniature solar panels, wired directly into the drone’s power system. With no storage buffer, every bit of energy needed for lift had to come straight from the sun.

After several adjustments and short test hops, Luke managed to fly the drone around a field. It wasn’t perfect — the drone wobbled whenever a light breeze hit it, and power delivery fluctuated with changes in sunlight — but it flew, powered only by the solar panel array. That alone marks the project as a success.

Looking ahead, Luke says this is just the beginning. He plans to build a more polished version outfitted with additional solar panels, GPS, and autonomous flight software. His ultimate goal: to attempt another Guinness World Record, this time for the longest-flying drone powered purely by the sun.

It may be early days, but the first flight proves the concept works — and hints at what dedicated hobby engineers can achieve with creativity, patience, and a lot of sunlight.

Samsung’s Galaxy S26 series has been surrounded by mixed signals for months, but a new set of leaked specs paints a much more encouraging picture. Instead of minor tweaks, the S26, S26+, and S26 Ultra may finally bring the camera upgrades fans have been asking for.

One of the biggest rumored changes is to the 3x telephoto camera. Samsung has relied on a 10MP 1/3.52-inch sensor in Ultra models and an even smaller 1/3.94-inch sensor in non-Ultra models for years — a clear disadvantage compared to rivals like the Vivo X300 Pro. The latest leak claims all three S26 models will move to a much larger 12MP 1/2.55-inch sensor for the 3x telephoto, which should improve light capture and overall zoom clarity. The Ultra may even step up to a 50MP 3x sensor, though that part isn’t “confirmed” yet.

The Ultra might also gain a larger 5,400mAh battery, up from 5,000mAh, assuming Samsung can keep thickness in check. All three phones are said to adopt Samsung’s newer M14 OLED panels with QHD resolution: 6.3 inches for the S26, 6.7 inches for the S26+, and 6.9 inches for the Ultra. For comparison, the current S25 uses a 6.2-inch 1080p panel.

The S26 and S26+ are reportedly in for meaningful camera upgrades too. Both may finally get a 50MP ultrawide (up from 12MP), and the 50MP main camera could use a larger 1/1.3-inch sensor — the same size as the S25 Ultra’s 200MP sensor.

Performance will vary by region, with either the Exynos 2600 or Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 powering the lineup. Even the Ultra may ship with Exynos in some markets this year.

One wild card remains: a slim “S26 More Slim” model with a 6.6-inch QHD display, dual 50MP cameras, paired with an unspecified telephoto, and a ~4,300mAh battery. Its status is unclear, but unlike the canceled S26 Edge, it reportedly avoids major compromises.

If accurate, these changes suggest the S26 series could be a far more cohesive — and far more improved — lineup than early leaks indicated.

According to the report, the customer, an engineer based in Bengaluru, had ordered the Galaxy Z Fold 7 and paid the full amount upfront via credit card. The Amazon parcel arrived with factory-style packaging intact. Even the Fold 7’s retail box appeared completely sealed.

But when he tore open the box — all while filming the unboxing — the phone-shaped package revealed nothing but a tile placed where the $2,000 smartphone should have been.

The footage turned out to be crucial. With an unboxing video as evidence, Amazon quickly issued a full refund and initiated a detailed investigation into the supply chain to figure out where the scam occurred. The buyer also filed a complaint with local police, who have begun their own probe into the matter.

It’s a rare case, but not unheard of — and it highlights the growing trend of high-value delivery scams, where fake or swapped products are slipped into authentic-looking packaging. Had the customer not recorded the unboxing, resolving the issue could have taken weeks or even months, with no guarantee of reimbursement.

The takeaway is simple: whenever you’re accepting an expensive delivery — whether it’s a phone, laptop, or luxury item — record the unboxing from the moment you receive the parcel.

Xiaomi is expanding its smart home lineup again, this time with a more advanced version of its Smart Door Lock 4 Pro. The new Dual Camera Edition has officially launched in China, bringing upgraded hardware and improved security features over the original model released earlier this year.

The headline upgrade is right in the name: Xiaomi has added a second camera to the new model. While the standard Smart Door Lock 4 Pro includes a single 2MP camera with a 152° field of view, the Dual Camera Edition steps things up with a 3MP main camera offering a 160° FOV, paired with an additional 2MP camera with a 128° FOV. The combination should give users a wider and clearer look at who’s outside their door.

Xiaomi has kept its set of twelve unlocking methods, covering everything from AI facial recognition and palm vein scanning to fingerprint recognition, NFC, Bluetooth, and traditional passcodes. As always, there’s a physical key included as a last-resort backup.

Inside the home, the lock features a 3.97-inch display for checking who’s at the door before opening it. The device supports Bluetooth and Wi-Fi, allowing users to stream live video from the lock in the Xiaomi Home app, receive alerts if someone approaches or tampers with the lock, and manage settings remotely.

Xiaomi has also boosted battery life for this model. The Dual Camera Edition uses a combination of a 6,870mAh lithium battery and four AA alkaline batteries, which together promise up to six months of use on a single charge — a noticeable improvement over the original.

Pricing and availability:

The Smart Door Lock 4 Pro Dual Camera Edition is priced at CNY 2,899 (~$408) in China. Xiaomi hasn’t launched its smart door locks in markets like Europe yet, though it already sells other smart home devices there, such as the Xiaomi G30 Max cordless vacuum cleaner.

For now, the Dual Camera Edition remains China-only, but it signals Xiaomi’s continued push into more sophisticated smart home security products.
