Samsung may once again rely on MediaTek for its next flagship tablets. A new report from Android Authority claims references to the Dimensity 9500 have been spotted inside Samsung’s AI Core application, hinting at what could power the upcoming Galaxy Tab S12 lineup.

The chipset appears in the code under model number MT6993, which corresponds to MediaTek’s flagship Dimensity 9500 platform. The code itself does not directly mention the Galaxy Tab S12 series, but based on Samsung’s recent tablet strategy, it is the most likely candidate.

Samsung already shifted away from Qualcomm for some of its premium tablets in recent years. The Galaxy Tab S10 and Tab S11 series used high-end Dimensity chips instead of Snapdragon processors, so the move would not be surprising this time either.

The Dimensity 9500 is built on TSMC’s 3nm process and focuses heavily on AI and power efficiency. It uses an all-big-core CPU setup along with MediaTek’s latest Mali GPU, which should help with gaming and multitasking on larger-screen devices like tablets.

Interestingly, the leak comes from Samsung’s own AI software. The AI Core app reportedly references several on-device AI features expected for the Tab S12 lineup, including AI-generated wallpapers, generative image editing, image expansion, and something called Image Harmonization. That last feature is said to intelligently adjust lighting and colors when placing subjects into different backgrounds, making edits look more natural.

The broader pattern here is Samsung pushing more AI processing directly onto the device instead of relying entirely on cloud servers. That usually means faster performance, lower latency, and fewer privacy concerns since some tasks no longer need internet access.

The Galaxy Tab S12 series is expected to launch later this year, likely around the usual September timeframe. Models like the Tab S12+ and Tab S12 Ultra are expected to return, though full specs are still mostly under wraps.

If this leak turns out to be accurate, Samsung’s next flagship tablets could end up focusing just as much on AI performance as raw hardware power.

Xiaomi is getting ready to enter the growing open-ear audio segment with its first pair of clip-on wireless earbuds. The company has now officially shared early details ahead of the launch later this month, and the focus seems to be on comfort, lightweight design, and smart features tied into Xiaomi’s ecosystem.

Each side weighs around 5.5 grams, which should make them fairly easy to wear for longer periods without the usual pressure inside the ear canal. Xiaomi says the structure uses memory titanium wire with a biomimetic curved shape to help keep the fit secure while staying comfortable.

Design is clearly a big part of the pitch here. The earbuds feature a glossy finish with what Xiaomi describes as a transparent sound-emitting sphere design and metallic textures around the outer shell. So far, the company has shown Satin Gold and Pearl White color options.

On the audio side, Xiaomi is using an 11mm driver with a metal-coated diaphragm. The earbuds also support LHDC 5.0 and Hi-Res audio certification, which should help with higher-quality wireless playback on supported devices.

Call quality seems to be another area Xiaomi is pushing. The earbuds include a three-microphone setup along with a VPU sensor and AI-based noise reduction. There is also a “reverse sound wave technology” meant to reduce audio leakage, which is usually one of the bigger issues with open-ear designs.

Xiaomi is also adding several AI-focused features, including real-time translation across 21 languages, voice recording, and automatic summaries. Some of those features will likely depend heavily on Xiaomi’s own ecosystem and Xiao AI support.

The display itself also looks fairly impressive on paper. The Pad6 Pro features a large 13.2-inch 4K LCD panel with a 144Hz refresh rate, up to 1200 nits brightness, and Dolby Vision support. Between the high resolution and refresh rate alone, the tablet seems positioned somewhere between a gaming device and a portable media machine.

In response, Insta360 CEO Liu Jingkang stepped in to explain that the leaked figures actually referred to overseas pricing converted into RMB. According to him, international pricing is higher due to cost issues, and the Chinese pricing will be noticeably lower. He even joked that the company “wouldn’t dare” sell it at those prices in China.

That clarification comes as interest in the Luna Ultra continues to grow ahead of its official launch. From everything revealed so far, the device seems aimed more at serious creators rather than casual users.

The Luna Ultra combines a three-axis mechanical gimbal with a Leica-branded dual-camera setup. The main camera uses a 1-inch sensor with an f/1.8 aperture, alongside a separate 3x optical telephoto lens. Google says it has identified what may be the first real-world zero-day exploit developed with the help of artificial intelligence, marking a potentially important shift in how cyberattacks are being created.

In a report published by Google’s Threat Intelligence Group (GTIG) on May 11, the company said attackers used AI assistance to discover and exploit a previously unknown vulnerability in a widely used open-source web administration tool. The flaw reportedly allowed attackers to bypass two-factor authentication after obtaining login credentials.

According to Google, the vulnerability was disclosed to the affected vendor and patched before it could be used in larger attacks.

What caught researchers’ attention was the exploit code itself. Google says the Python script showed several signs typically associated with AI-generated code, including overly instructional comments, structured textbook-style formatting, and even a hallucinated CVSS severity score that did not actually exist.

Interestingly, the vulnerability was not a traditional memory corruption bug or a simple coding mistake. Instead, it involved higher-level business logic and semantic analysis, an area where modern AI models have started showing stronger capabilities. In simple terms, the AI appears to have helped connect pieces of application behavior that could eventually be abused together.

Security researchers have been warning for a while that AI could lower the barrier for more advanced cyberattacks, especially by helping less experienced attackers automate parts of the process that previously required deeper technical expertise.

At the same time, companies like Google are also using AI defensively for things like automated bug discovery, threat analysis, and patch development. Still, this latest case is likely to add more urgency to conversations around AI-powered cybersecurity threats.

Vivo is preparing to launch a new pair of affordable wireless earbuds in China, called the TWS 5e. The company has already opened pre-orders ahead of the first sale on May 29. The earbuds will be available in three colors: white, black, and sky blue.

One of the biggest highlights is the claimed 55dB hybrid adaptive noise cancellation, which appears to be a significant upgrade over the 30dB ANC offered on the TWS 3e from late 2023. Vivo says the updated system is designed to reduce common background noise like traffic, office chatter, and commuting sounds more effectively.

The company claims the TWS 5e can deliver up to 55 hours of total playback with the charging case. For comparison, the predecessor offered up to 44 hours of total playback, with each earbud lasting up to 11 hours with ANC turned off.

Vivo has not fully detailed the rest of the specifications yet, so things like the driver setup, minimum latency, and IP rating are still unclear for now. The predecessor, for reference, featured Bluetooth 5.3, a 55ms low-latency gaming mode, along with DeepX 3.0 and 3D Panoramic Audio effects for a more immersive listening experience.

Motorola has quietly launched the new Moto Tag 2 in parts of Europe. At first glance, the tracker looks fairly simple. It’s a compact tracker designed for attaching to things like keys, bags, wallets, or luggage, and it connects through Google’s Find Hub network on Android devices.

But the more interesting upgrades are happening underneath. The Moto Tag 2 supports Ultra-Wideband (UWB) alongside Bluetooth 6.0 and Bluetooth Channel Sounding, which allows for much more accurate nearby positioning compared to regular Bluetooth trackers.

In practice, that means your phone can guide you toward the lost item with directional indicators and more precise distance measurements instead of just vaguely telling you it’s “nearby.” That’s especially useful indoors, where traditional Bluetooth trackers can sometimes feel frustratingly imprecise.

Motorola claims the tracker can last up to 600 days using a standard replaceable CR2032 battery. This is a major upgrade over the “one-year battery” of the first-generation Moto Tag. The Moto Tag 2 is also rated IP68 for dust and water resistance, so it should survive rain, spills, and general everyday abuse without much trouble.

Design-wise, Motorola has kept things fairly minimal. The tracker is slim enough to fit inside wallets or luggage compartments and comes in green and orange color options instead of the usual plain white or black approach most trackers use.

There are a couple of smaller convenience features too. The built-in button can apparently be used to ring your connected phone or even trigger the camera shutter remotely. Motorola is also leaning on Google’s encrypted Find Hub ecosystem for privacy and secure location sharing.

Xiaomi has introduced a new Mijia shower system in China, and it’s very much in line with the company’s recent approach to smart home products: clean design, practical features, and a surprisingly premium-looking finish without an ultra-premium price tag.

The new Mijia shower head was officially announced today with a retail price of 1,099 yuan (roughly €138 at the current exchange rate), though Xiaomi is initially offering it through crowdfunding for 899 yuan (around €112). The campaign is scheduled to begin next week.

One of the biggest highlights is the built-in storage area. Xiaomi has integrated a large 370mm tempered glass shelf directly into the shower system, giving users a place to store bottles and bathroom essentials without needing separate wall-mounted racks. The main overhead shower itself is also fairly large, measuring 305mm across with a square design intended to provide wider water coverage.

As for controls, Xiaomi seems to be aiming for a more tactile and mechanical feel rather than going fully digital. The shower system uses a stepless rotary knob for temperature adjustment, alongside separate piano-style buttons that independently control different water output modes. According to Xiaomi, the system supports 4 spray modes and can output water from multiple channels simultaneously.

The overall design looks quite minimal as well, especially with the tempered glass finish. Xiaomi says the main structure uses antibacterial brass construction designed to improve corrosion resistance and reduce bacterial buildup over time.

In a way, this feels like a continuation of Xiaomi’s earlier Mijia smart shower systems, but with more focus on usability and physical interaction rather than just smart features or digital displays.

New promotional renders and what appear to be official certification photos of the device have surfaced online, giving a much clearer look at Insta360’s next high-end pocket gimbal camera. And honestly, it seems like the company is aiming well beyond casual vlogging this time.

The biggest change is the camera system itself. The Luna Ultra appears to use a dual-camera setup built around a 1-inch primary sensor paired with a dedicated 3x telephoto lens, reportedly developed alongside Leica. Based on current leaks, the main camera uses an f/1.8 aperture, while the telephoto lens enables around 6x “lossless” zoom and up to 12x hybrid zoom overall. That already puts it much closer to a compact mirrorless-style setup than a typical Pocket camera.

But the hardware design is arguably even more interesting. Images shared by leaker Igor Bogdanov (@Quadro_News) show a detachable front grip that magnetically separates from the body and turns into a wireless remote controller with a 2-inch OLED touchscreen. There is also a joystick for gimbal control, zoom controls, and a dedicated record button. For solo creators, that could end up being genuinely useful instead of just another gimmick accessory.

The Luna Ultra also appears to retain a full three-axis mechanical gimbal, which remains one of the biggest advantages these dedicated pocket cameras still have over smartphones.

On the video side, the rumored specs are fairly serious. Reports mention support for 6K recording at 50fps, 4K at 120fps, 10-bit i-Log, and Dolby Vision. Some leaks even suggest certain slow-motion modes may push beyond that.

Audio seems to be getting proper attention too. The camera is said to support 32-bit audio recording at 48kHz, alongside compatibility with Insta360’s wireless microphone ecosystem. That matters more than people sometimes realize, especially for creators shooting unpredictable outdoor content where clipping and sudden volume spikes can ruin otherwise usable footage.

Current leaks suggest the Luna Ultra could start around ¥5,299 (roughly $780 at the current exchange rate), while larger Creator-style bundles may approach ¥6,499 (around $950). At those prices, Insta360 is no longer competing only with DJI’s Pocket lineup. It’s starting to edge into territory normally occupied by entry-level mirrorless cameras and premium compact shooters from Sony and Canon.

Whether creators are willing to spend that much on a pocket-sized gimbal camera remains to be seen. But based on the hardware alone, Insta360 clearly isn’t trying to make a budget travel gadget here. The Luna Ultra looks much more like a serious creator tool that just happens to fit in your pocket.
