Arsenal striker, Gabriel Jesus claims he is doing great as he continues recovery from the longest injury of his career, Softfootball reports.

The Brazilian suffered an ACL injury in January, 2025 during the Gunners FA Cup match against Manchester United and has gone on to miss 38 matches including Arsenal’s 1-0 victory over Crystal Palace last weekend.

Speaking in an interview shared via Arsenal’s official X handle, Gabriel Jesus remains optimistic about his recovery and returning to training with his teammates. He said:

Yeah, I’m feeling great, man. My knee’s responding very well. So now I’m looking forward to being around the team again soon, to come back to do what I love to do. It’s been too long.

An injury like this, one that is so long, you split up the recovery periods into smaller timings. So now I’m at the stage where I need to hold myself back a little bit, because I’m doing great work outside on the pitches, but it’s tricky because I need to not rush myself too hard over the line. When you can see the end, it’s important you don’t push too hard, keep my feet on the floor, and then as soon as the time comes, I will be ready.

When you look at Mohamed Salah right now, who was very close to Jota, you can see that he is a shadow of his former self.

So, I think we need to be careful and a bit more understanding in the way we criticise this Liverpool team.

Aston Villa manager, Unai Emery has defended his decision to leave Harvey Elliott off the squad that faced Manchester City, Softfootball reports.

Interestingly, the first half of the encounter ended goalless as the home side defended very well against a dangerous Bayern Munich frontline.
