Samsung is preparing to expand its new AI-powered anti-fraud feature beyond the Galaxy S26 series, signaling a wider global rollout in the coming months. The feature, currently limited to users in the United States, is designed to detect scam calls in real time and warn users instantly if a conversation appears suspicious.

The technology behind this feature comes from Google and uses an on-device Gemini AI model. This means call content is analyzed directly on the phone, ensuring better privacy since data does not need to be sent to external servers. The system listens for patterns commonly linked to fraud and alerts users during the call itself.

Samsung has integrated this capability into its native Phone app through a collaboration with Google. Interestingly, this AI feature was first introduced on Pixel smartphones before making its way to Samsung’s flagship lineup.

Recent findings from code strings in the Google Phone app (version 217 beta) suggest that Samsung is planning to bring this feature to more devices. These include upcoming foldables such as the Galaxy Z Fold 8 and Galaxy Z Flip 8, along with other regional variants across global markets.

The presence of multiple international model numbers strongly indicates that Samsung is aiming for a large-scale rollout. However, one notable absence is the expected global variant of the Flip 8, leaving some uncertainty.

Turns out that Samsung will have a global rollout of the Galaxy S26’s AI-powered Scam Detection feature.

Code buried inside a recent Beta build of the Phone by Google app has surfaced model numbers tied to three upcoming Samsung foldables: the Galaxy Z Fold 8, the Galaxy Z Flip 8, and a new Wide Fold variant.

The strings point directly at SM-F976, SM-F971, and SM-F776, not just concept units, as discovered by Android Authority. What makes this genuinely interesting isn’t that the feature is coming to new foldable phones.

The regional variant spread in that code is wide. You’ve got B for global, U and U1 for US carrier-locked and unlocked variants, W for Canada, and C, Z, and Q covering additional markets.

Samsung appears to be setting up Gemini-powered Scam Detection for a genuine international push, which would mark a significant departure from how the Galaxy S26 launch played out earlier this year.

Scam Detection on the S26 series works only for English-speaking users in the US. For a feature Samsung co-developed with Google and built into its Phone app, the reach was basically a pilot program wearing a flagship price tag.

Samsung is expected to pull the curtain on its next foldables at Galaxy Unpacked in July 2026. Galaxy S26 owners outside the US might finally get access to Scam Detection around that same window, either alongside the foldable launch or ahead of it.
