Galaxy S26 Ultra could have 24MP mode in default camera
Samsung is working on its next flagship phone, the Galaxy S26 Ultra, and new reports suggest it will come with an interesting camera upgrade. The phone is expected to launch in late February 2026, and early leaks show that the camera could be one of its main highlights.
Tipster @UniverseIce has revealed that Samsung is adding a new 24MP photo mode to the phoneβs default camera app. This is not the 24MP option in Expert RAW. Instead, it is a simpler mode meant for everyday photography, which gives more detail than the standard 12MP mode without needing heavy editing.
This new 24MP mode works in Photo and Portrait modes. When a picture is taken, the phone takes about three seconds to process it. The final photo looks clean and natural, especially when taking pictures of people or bright scenes. In addition, issues like over-sharpening or purple edges are reduced.

Earlier, it was reported that the 24MP mode would not be on by default. Users had to go into Camera Assistant and turn it on in Advanced resolution options before it could be used in the camera app.
But new reports say Samsung has now added this 24MP mode directly to the default camera. This means users might not need to turn it on in the settings anymore.Β This feature will be exclusive to the Galaxy S26 series. Stay tuned for more information.
