Samsung Galaxy Buds 3 discontinued in the US ahead of Unpacked event

17 February 2026 at 01:36

Samsung is quietly removing the Galaxy Buds 3 from its USA online store just before Galaxy Unpacked 2026. Unlike a usual sold-out product, the Buds 3 page now redirects to the Galaxy Buds 3 Pro, suggesting Samsung may not bring the standard model back. This move seems timed to make room for the upcoming Galaxy Buds 4 lineup.

The regular Galaxy Buds 3 are known for their tipless, open design. Without silicone eartips, they didn’t seal the ear canal, which made fit and sound quality inconsistent. Noise isolation was limited, and the bass could feel weak for some users.

When Samsung launched the Galaxy Buds 3 FE, sales of the Galaxy Buds 3 declined. The FE model was cheaper, and even though it skipped some features like wireless charging and higher water resistance, many users felt it sounded better than the standard Buds 3.

Currently, the Buds 3 Pro and Buds 3 FE remain available in the USA, while the standard Buds 3 appear to be a short-lived experiment. Removing the product now clears space for the new generation.

For Samsung earbud fans, this likely marks the end of the regular Buds 3 as attention shifts to the Galaxy Buds 4, expected to launch at Unpacked 2026. The move shows Samsung is enhancing its earbuds lineup, keeping models that deliver the best performance and quietly retiring ones that didn’t connect as well with users.

Galaxy Buds 4 Pro leak reveals major design shift and missing feature

Press renders of Samsung’s Galaxy Buds 4 and Buds 4 Pro have been revealed, and the listing sheds light on the design and a missing feature.

With Unpacked set for February 25, where the Galaxy S26 series is expected to take center stage, Samsung’s next-gen audio lineup is clearly gearing up for a debut alongside its flagship phones.

Galaxy Buds 4 and Pro design

A fresh leak, shared by @Mohammed_K_2010/X, points to a notable design overhaul for Samsung’s next flagship TWS earbuds. Buried in the details is something longtime Buds users will immediately notice, and possibly dislike.

The Pro variant appears to carry more premium branding and potentially different in-box accessories. Meanwhile, the vanilla model seems more minimal, reinforcing Samsung’s usual two-tier TWS strategy.

Samsung has reportedly shifted to a horizontal layout for the Galaxy Buds 4 Pro, moving away from the more vertical, pocket-friendly orientation. The lid is now transparent, and this clearΒ top subtly changes how the product feels.

Speaker grill gone?

Galaxy Buds 4 Pro appear to be taking a different path than many expected. The leak suggests that the Buds 4 Pro charging case no longer features a visible speaker grill. If accurate, that likely means the case speaker is gone.

Samsung’s recent premium Buds cases can emit a sound when triggered through SmartThings Find. It turns a potentially expensive loss into a five-minute scavenger hunt; remove it, and you are back to silent searching.

Taking away an audible locating feature in 2026 is hard to justify unless there is a compelling reason, like size reduction or battery optimization.

Samsung is getting ready to launch its new Galaxy Buds 4 and Galaxy Buds 4 Pro. Before the official launch, new images of the earbuds have been found in leaked One UI 9.0 software. These pictures give us another early look at the design of the Galaxy Buds 4 Pro.

The images have been discovered inside the Galaxy Wearable app by Sammobile in leaked firmware for the Galaxy Z Fold 7. This means Samsung has already added the official images of the earbuds into its system. When people buy the new Galaxy Buds 4 or Buds 4 Pro and connect them to their phone, they will likely see these same images during setup.

Samsung will officially show the Galaxy Buds 4 series on February 25 at its first Unpacked event of 2026. Many leaks have already revealed the design, and these new images confirm how the earbuds will look. The design appears clean and modern, similar to recent Samsung earbuds.

Reports say Samsung has improved the sound quality in the new models. The company is also fixing problems that users faced with the Galaxy Buds 3 Pro. Some people had issues with charging and uneven paint on the earbuds. Samsung has decided to remove these lights in the new version to avoid this issue.

With better sound, improved quality, and no price increase, the Galaxy Buds 4 series could be a good choice for people looking for new wireless earbuds. Stay tuned for more information.
