One UI 8.5 development moves forward with Samsung Galaxy F series
Samsung is already testing One UI 8.5 internally on several Galaxy devices, including flagship phones, Galaxy A series, M series, and tablets. Now, the company has started internal testing of One UI 8.5 for the Galaxy F series as well.
The first One UI 8.5 test build has been spotted via @Mohammed_K_2010 for the Samsung Galaxy F17 5G. This makes the Galaxy F17 5G the first phone from the Galaxy F series to join the One UI 8.5 testing list.
The new build carries the version number E176BXXU3CYL5, confirming that Samsung has begun preparing this major update for the device. At the moment, the testing is underway on the Indian variant of the Galaxy F17 5G.

This new build shows that Samsung is gradually expanding One UI 8.5 testing to more Galaxy devices. Samsung wants to provide a better software experience across different price ranges.
Earlier this month, Samsung also began the One UI 8.5 Beta Program for the Galaxy S25 series in a few selected countries. So far, two beta updates have been released, allowing users to try new features before the final version.
More Galaxy devices may get access to beta features later. However, Galaxy F series phones are not part of the beta program, so F series users will need to wait for the stable update. Samsung has already confirmed that the stable One UI 8.5 update will first launch with the Galaxy S26 series next year.
After a stable release, Samsung will gradually roll out this major update to other Galaxy smartphones and tablets. As Samsung continues testing One UI 8.5 on more devices, more details are expected in the coming months.
