Samsung’s One UI 8.5 bringing new AI tool to mix and match images

11 December 2025 at 22:01

Samsung is currently working on One UI 8.5 based on Android 16, and it will reportedly bring more AI features to Galaxy smartphones. With the upcoming One UI 8.5 update, users may soon be able to edit photos in a completely new way. Users will soon be able to mix and match images directly in the Gallery app.

A leaked version of One UI 8.5 for the Galaxy Z Fold 7 shows a new Galaxy AI tool. By tapping the Galaxy AI button in the Gallery app, users can open the Photo Assist section. Here, you can type what you want to change in a photo, and Galaxy AI will make it happen.

And the most highlighted part of this One UI 8.5 Photo Assist feature is that you can combine elements from different images. Like, if you have an image of your cat, you can add a ball or another object image, and Galaxy AI will blend them together realistically, which makes it look like your cat is actually playing with the added object.

At the moment, this feature is only shown in the Tips app (spotted via SamMobile) on the Galaxy Z Fold 7 and doesn’t work yet. It is also not available on the Galaxy S25 series beta of One UI 8.5. Samsung may enable it in future beta updates or release it with the Galaxy S26 series next year.

One UI 8.5 keeps improving Samsung phones with smart AI features. Samsung users will soon be able to create fun, creative, and realistic images directly on their phones. Stay tuned for more information.
