Xiaomi recently confirmed the list of devices that will get the Android 17 OS update, which arrived soon after the first official Android 17 beta went live. Now, early leaks have revealed Oppo’s and OnePlus’s next major software updates based on Android 17. But ahead of any official release roadmap, the latest report has revealed a bunch of key updates for the upcoming ColorOS 17 and OxygenOS 17.

ColorOS 17 and OxygenOS 17: Smoother Performance & System Efficiency

One of the biggest themes across leaks is system performance optimization. Both ColorOS 17 and OxygenOS 17 are reported to refine CPU resource and memory management, resulting in faster app launches, fewer micro-stutters and better overall fluidity when navigating the interface.

Background multitasking is expected to benefit from improved app retention, meaning apps stay active longer instead of reloading frequently. Leaks also suggest deeper internal optimizations like improved garbage collection processes to reduce unnecessary workload on system resources and refine idle power usage, which could translate into more consistent battery life in day-to-day use.

Refined Animations & Interface Fluidity

Both the ColorOS 17 and OxygenOS 17 updates are tipped to bring smoother system-wide animations and reduced UI frame drops, helping make everyday interactions feel more consistent and responsive. Whether scrolling through apps or navigating menus, leaks suggest that transitions and motion feedback will look more polished than before, improving the overall feel and software experience.

Camera apps are also a focus here. Reports point to improved zoom transitions while taking photos and videos, meaning less lag, flickering and abrupt jumps between zoom levels. This would be a great quality tweak that could make major differences during real world shooting sessions.

Camera & Visual Improvements

OnePlus OxygenOS 16 rollout expansion

On the imaging side, one of the more practical changes highlighted in the leaks is smoother zoom behavior in the camera interface. These enhancements are for both stills and video capture. This hints at software-level improvements that could make switching between focal lengths or continuous zooming feel more natural and less jittery. That’s a welcome improvement for users who rely on their phones for quick photo/video tasks.

Vivo V70 FE Key Specs Leaked

The headline feature here appears to be a 200MP main camera, which is also visible in the leaked teaser image poster shared by PassionateGeekz. This clearly showcases the photography focus of the Vivo V70 FE, which is a step below the brand’s X300 lineup. It is unclear whether it will support Zeiss tuning like some of its predecessors, although this will likely not be the case. Fresh hands-on footage of the DJI Osmo Pocket 4 has leaked online, giving one of the clearest glimpses yet of the next evolution in DJI’s popular compact gimbal camera lineup. This video also offers us a glimpse at some of the best new features and upgrades, so let’s check them out.

DJI Osmo Pocket 4 Leaked in New Hands-On Video

While DJI hasn’t officially announced the product, the leaked video looks authentic and suggests the company may be readying an imminent launch. The video shared by Malaysian retailer Drones Kaki (Via NotebookCheck) appears to feature a final detrail unit of the Osmo Pocket 4 in the wild. So the design shown here could be closer to the final look, and not just early prototypes.

Unlike the Pocket 3, this new model appears to include an integrated LED light mounted above the camera, which could help vloggers and creators get better exposure in dim conditions. The LED seems to be on two movable hinges, giving users flexibility to aim the light as needed. Apart from this, the video shows more physical buttons and controls than the Osmo Pocket 3, which may point to improved handling and easier access to functions while filming.

Lastly, there is the new SuperPhoto Mode, which is also a familiar name popularised by GoPro. So similar to its competitor, we can expect this feature to likely use scene-analysis and intelligent image processing to optimise shots automatically, a feature often found in action cameras. This new feature could be targeting vloggers and content creators who need portable recording gear. In related news, the Osmo Pocket 4 just surfaced in the FCC database, hinting at an imminent release.
