Leaked One UI 8.5 shows big changes for Samsung Galaxy S24 series
Samsung is getting ready to roll out One UI 8.5, the next major update for its Galaxy devices. Now, a leaked version of Samsungβs upcoming One UI 8.5 for the Galaxy S24 Ultra has revealed many new features and design updates.
In the early build version of the Galaxy S24 series, One UI 8.5 build shows a fresh look, smarter features, and more ways to personalize your phone. The Quick Settings panel has been completely redesigned. Brightness and volume sliders can now be vertical and resized.
You can move some toggles outside the main panel, and all options are grouped into categories, similar to the iPhoneβs Control Center. This makes adjusting settings faster and easier.
Several Samsung apps have been updated. The Device Care app now looks cleaner, with bigger usage bars and smaller text. The Settings app has a search bar at the bottom instead of the top, and descriptions under each category are removed.
Samsungβs My Files app now has a horizontal layout for file categories, with downloads moved to its own section. The search bar floats at the bottom of the screen. The Phone app also gets a redesign, with floating pill-shaped buttons for the keypad, contacts, and recent calls, matching the overall style of the system.
The stock Camera app has been improved too. Options like video format and saving to external storage are easier to access. Pro photo and video modes now include a button that hides other UI elements, which lets you focus on the shot.
The lockscreen also gets smarter as it can detect faces or pets in a wallpaper and adjust the clock and widgets so the subject stays visible. These new improvements show that One UI 8.5 is shaping up to be a big update and looks more advanced than One UI 8. Stay tuned for more information.
