Samsung integrates Perplexity AI at the OS level in Galaxy S26
Samsung is now working closely with Perplexity AI to bring AI features to the new Galaxy S26. This is an important step because Perplexity has deep access to the phone’s system. Before this, Samsung only gave this level of access to its own assistants.
On the Galaxy S26, users can say “Hey Plex” to open the Perplexity assistant. They can also press and hold the side button. Since Perplexity works at the system level, it can connect directly with Samsung’s stock apps, including Notes, Calendar, Gallery, Clock, and Reminders. This makes things simple and quick.
Users can ask a question and get a clear answer with sources without opening a web browser, and save useful information straight into Notes or set reminders or add events to their calendar in the same conversation. It means that there is no need to switch between apps. The Perplexity app already comes installed on every Galaxy S26, so users do not need to download anything.

Perplexity also helps power Bixby, Samsung’s voice assistant. With Perplexity’s technology, Bixby can give better and more up-to-date answers. It uses live web search along with smart AI reasoning. This helps it give accurate responses instead of only using old stored information.
Samsung will also use Perplexity’s technology in its browser to give users smarter search and browsing tools. This partnership means more people around the world will have access to smart and helpful AI tools every day.
