As the end of the year approaches, the Irish new car market falls into oblivion as usual. October sales endure their first YoY fall since May at -9.3% to 2,191. The year-to-date tally is still in positive however at +3.4% to 123,857. Skoda (+41.1%) surges ahead to score its 2nd win in the past 3 months with a dominant 12.4% share. Kia (+8.2%) is up three spots on last month to #2 while Volkswagen (-20.2%) sinks to #3. Leader year-to-date, Toyota implodes -39.5% to #4 and 8.2% share vs. 13.6% so far this year. Dacia (+66.7%) and BYD (+58.8%) are the only two additional gainers in the Top 10, with the latter breaking its ranking and share records at #7 and 4.9%.

The Hyundai Tucson (+68.9%) returns to the pole position it holds year-to-date with 3.5% share. The event of the month is the landing of the new Kia EV4 directly in 2nd place for its first month of sales. Granted, this is a weak month that is bound to be volatile but this is still a great achievement. The Skoda Octavia (-8.1%) is up two ranks on September to #3 while the new BYD Sealion 7 is up to a record 4th place. The Skoda Enyaq (+2250%) is euphoric at #7 vs. #53 year-to-date while the new VW Tayron breaks into the Top 10 for the second time at #8, outselling its little brother the Tiguan (#15). Two new models reach their best ranking in the world: the Opel Frontera up 155 spots to #11 and the Renault 4 landing at #21.

Croatia October 2025: Citroen (+416.1%), Opel (+107.7%) highlight record market

5 November 2025 at 04:41

Citroen sales are up 5-fold year-on-year in October.

The Croatian new car market soars 18.3% year-on-year in October to 5,158 units. This is a particularly good result given October 2024 was already up 18.3% (yes) over the year prior. The year-to-date tally is now up 8.5% to 60,896. According to our records, this is the highest ever volume in the country after 10 months. The Top 3 brands outpace the market. Volkswagen (+64.5%) scores its first win since last May and reaches 16% share, the carmaker’s highest since June 2023. It however remains #2 year-to-date below Skoda (+31.4%) down to #2 for the month. Opel (+107.7%) continues to surge at #3 with YTD sales up 55.6%. Toyota (+2.1%), Suzuki (+6.6%) and Renault (+8.2%) are a lot more discreet while Dacia (-29.2%), Audi (-5.5%) and Hyundai (-4.2%) actually drop. Citroen (+416.1%) is up 5-fold to close the Top 10 with 3.1% share vs. 2.2% so far this year.

Model-wise, the Skoda Octavia (+4.8%) remains in the pole position but is relatively weak year-on-year. In fact the podium is unchanged on last month with VW T-Cross (+21.1%) at #2 and the Opel Mokka (+496.8%) surging at #3. The VW T-Roc (+267.6%) takes off thanks to promotions on the outgoing generation while the Skoda Kamiq (+61%) is up four spots on last month to #5. The MG ZS (+375%), Skoda Scala (+221.9%) and Opel Corsa (+33.3%) also impress in the remainder of the Top 10. First Top 20 finish for the new VW Tayron at #13.

Previous month: Croatia September 2025: Skoda and Octavia on top, Opel Mokka up to #3

One year ago: Croatia October 2024: Market up 18.3%, Geely Coolray up to #7
