Google has announced a new feature for its Google Messages app. The feature is named the Trash folder, and it will help users manage deleted messages more easily.

Before this update, when you deleted a message, it was gone forever right away. But now, things are changing. With the new Trash folder, deleted messages will not disappear instantly. Instead, they will go into a special folder called Trash.

These messages will stay in the Trash for up to 30 days on most phones. This means if you delete something by mistake, you still have time to get it back. On Android Go phones, which are simpler devices, messages will stay in Trash for only seven days.

You can open the Trash folder anytime to check your deleted messages. From there, you can choose to restore a message, which will bring it back to your inbox. If you are sure you don’t need a message, you can delete it permanently. There are also options to delete all messages or restore all messages in just one tap.

To access trash, you just need to tap your profile picture in the top-right corner of the app, and you will see the option there. Google has not said the exact date when this feature will be available to everyone. Stay tuned for more information.
