Xiaomi has introduced a new home appliance to its lineup in China: the Mijia Constant Temperature Electric Kettle Titanium Steel Edition. It is priced at 139 yuan (roughly $20) and is now available on the Youpin platform.

The primary update in this model is the interior construction. Instead of the standard 304 stainless steel found in most budget kettles, Xiaomi is using 316Ti food-contact-grade titanium steel.
The company says that this material provides better resistance to corrosion and acid-alkali wear over time. For everyday use, this means the kettle is less likely to degrade or impart a metallic taste to the water after months of regular boiling.
To make maintenance easier, the interior is a single, seamless piece of metal, which helps prevent hard water scale from building up in hard-to-reach crevices. The top opening is 13.5cm wide, providing enough room to comfortably fit a hand inside for cleaning.
In terms of capacity, the kettle holds 1.7 liters of water, which yields about eight standard cups per boil. It sits on a 1800W base designed for fast and even heating.
The most notable functional feature is the constant temperature mode. By pressing a button on the base, users can set the kettle to hold water at a steady 55°C (about 131°F). It uses a low-power PTC insulation system that can maintain this temperature for up to 24 hours. It is a practical addition for people who regularly drink tea or warm water throughout the day and want to avoid boiling a fresh pot every time.
Xiaomi has also included several standard safety features. The kettle has a dual-layer insulated exterior, so the outside remains safe to touch even when the water inside is boiling.
The lid uses a two-stage dampened opening mechanism, which opens slowly to prevent a sudden rush of hot steam. It also includes dry-boil prevention, automatic shut-off, and overheat protection, managed by a thermostat that has reportedly undergone 10,000 durability tests.
Xiaomi has released a new electric toothbrush in China, the Mijia Sonic Vibration Electric Toothbrush Pro. It has a suggested retail price of 549 yuan (roughly $80), with introductory pricing set at 505 yuan ($74). The toothbrush comes in dark blue, light gold, and light purple colors.

To track your brushing, the device relies on an internal six-axis sensor. The sensor identifies the position and angle of the brush head in your mouth, distinguishing between chewing surfaces, the inner arch, and the back molars. It then adjusts the vibration pattern based on where you are brushing.
All of this tracking data is sent to the color screen on the handle. While you brush, the display shows your duration, coverage area, and pressure warnings. When you turn it off, the screen generates a brief report that highlights any zones in your mouth that need more attention.
For deeper customization, the toothbrush connects to the Mijia app, where you can manually adjust the vibration intensity, sweeping range, and brushing time, or select specific routines for sensitive teeth.
Physically, the toothbrush has an anodized aluminum alloy body, which is a departure from the standard plastic used in most electric toothbrushes. It is IPX8 water-resistant and includes a soft rubber shock-absorbing structure to reduce the amount of vibration you feel in your hand. The brush head itself can flex up to 45 degrees to help reach the back of the mouth.
The device ships with three interchangeable brush heads: a standard cleaning head, a whitening head with polishing bristles, and a softer option for gum care. The bristles use fading technology to indicate when they need to be replaced, which is typically every three months.

DJI is getting ready to launch its next robot vacuum, the ROMO 2, on May 11. The biggest hints so far revolve around navigation and low-clearance cleaning.
An official teaser video suggests the ROMO 2 can slide under beds and sofas with very little space underneath, something many robot vacuums still struggle with. Another teaser suggests the vacuum can move around objects placed on the floor, without bumping into them. That likely points to improvements in obstacle detection and movement precision.
There are also hints at better mopping performance this time around, including quicker floor drying after cleaning, though DJI hasn’t officially detailed how that system works yet.
For context, DJI only entered the robot vacuum space relatively recently with the first-generation ROMO lineup, which launched in China last year. Unsurprisingly, the company leaned heavily on its drone experience for things like navigation and sensing.
The original ROMO models used a combination of dual fisheye cameras and solid-state LiDAR for mapping and obstacle avoidance, helping them move through crowded spaces with very little manual intervention. Some versions even came with transparent design elements, giving them a more futuristic look than most robot vacuums on the market.
On the cleaning side, DJI advertised suction power up to 25,000Pa, alongside dual robotic arms for edge cleaning and anti-tangle roller brushes aimed at handling long hair more effectively. The docking station was also fairly ambitious, supporting self-cleaning and long maintenance intervals of up to 200 days. The ROMO 2 will likely build on most of that rather than completely changing direction.
At this point, full specs are still under wraps, but the quick follow-up launch suggests DJI is moving aggressively in this category. The company is clearly trying to position itself against established names like Roborock and Ecovacs, especially in the premium smart cleaning segment.
As usual, China will probably get the device first, with wider availability coming later if DJI follows the same rollout strategy as before.
iQOO has officially launched the new Z11 and Z11x in Malaysia, bringing the standard model outside China for the first time. And looking at the specs, battery life is very clearly the main focus here.

The regular iQOO Z11 is the more premium of the two, and honestly, the first thing most people will notice is the massive 9,020mAh battery. That’s unusually large even by current standards. What’s interesting is that iQOO still managed to keep the phone relatively slim at 8.25mm and reasonably manageable at 213g. Charging goes up to 90W, and there are a few extra battery-related features as well, including bypass charging and long-term battery health protection.
The phone also gets a large 6.83-inch AMOLED display with 1.5K resolution and a 144Hz refresh rate. Brightness can apparently hit 5,000 nits in certain conditions, though as usual, that number likely applies to small HDR highlights rather than full-screen use.
Under the hood is Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 7s Gen 4 chip, replacing the Dimensity 8500 used in the Chinese variant, paired with up to 12GB RAM and 256GB storage. Benchmark comparisons from NanoReview suggest the Dimensity 8500 delivers noticeably stronger CPU and GPU performance.
iQOO is also using a fairly large vapor chamber cooling setup here, likely because the phone is being positioned partly toward mobile gamers. The cameras are decent on paper, though clearly not the main selling point. You get a 50MP Sony IMX882 primary camera, a 2MP depth sensor, and a 32MP front camera with 4K recording support.
iQOO Z11x specifications:
The Z11x sits lower in the lineup but keeps a surprisingly similar overall approach. It swaps the AMOLED panel for a 6.76-inch LCD display with a 120Hz refresh rate and uses MediaTek’s Dimensity 7400-Turbo chipset instead. Battery capacity drops to 7,200mAh, though that’s still a large capacity for a smartphone in 2026.
Charging is reduced to 44W, but the phone still keeps the IP68 and IP69 ratings. Camera hardware includes a 50MP Sony IMX852 main sensor, a 2MP depth camera, and a 32MP selfie shooter.
Pricing and availability:
Pricing in Malaysia for the standard Z11 starts at RM1,899 for the 8GB + 256GB version, while the 12GB + 256GB model is priced at RM2,199. The Z11x starts at RM1,299 for the 8GB + 128GB variant, while the 256GB version comes in at RM1,599.
Both phones are already available through the company’s official website in Malaysia. As part of a limited 10-day launch offer, the base variants are currently discounted to RM1,599 for the Z11 and RM1,099 for the Z11x.
Magnetic battery packs are convenient, but the 10,000mAh models usually come with a clear downside: they add a lot of bulk to your phone. Anker is trying to address that with its new Air+ Ultra Slim Magnetic Power Bank (Nano), which recently went on presale in China for 399 yuan ($58).

The focus of this new battery pack is keeping the physical footprint down while maintaining a standard 10,000mAh (39.2Wh) capacity. It measures 1.47cm thick and weighs about 210 grams. While it’s not weightless, it is thinner than most standard magnetic power banks in this capacity range.
Anker designed the dimensions so it fits properly on the back of supported iPhones, meaning it shouldn’t block the camera bump or stick out past the bottom edge of the device. It attaches using 17 built-in rubidium magnets, which provide a 12.8N magnetic force. It will also work through magnetic phone cases, provided they are under 1mm thick.
For charging, the specs are solid and practical. If you use it wirelessly, it outputs up to 15W for compatible iPhones. According to Anker, that will get an iPhone 17 Pro to about 40% in 30 minutes.
If you need to charge faster, there is a USB-C port that supports up to 30W for both charging your phone and recharging the battery pack itself. Using a cable, an iPhone 17 Pro can reach 50% in around 22 minutes.
The power bank uses ATL battery cells, which is the same supplier Apple uses for its devices. To keep things from getting too warm during use, the internal structure includes high-polymer graphene materials and a dedicated temperature control chip. Interestingly, you can also connect the power bank to Anker’s companion app to monitor the battery’s health and check its real-time temperature.
On the safety side, the device meets China’s 2026 safety standards, passing tests for puncture resistance, compression, and heat exposure. It has a soft-touch finish with metallic accents and comes in four colors: Black, White, Blue, and Orange.

According to a new report from DIGITIMES, major Taiwanese motherboard brands have sharply reduced their shipment targets for 2026 as rising hardware prices and weak demand continue to hurt the industry.
Companies including ASUS, Gigabyte, MSI, and ASRock are all expected to see major shipment declines next year.

AI Demand Is Hurting Consumer Hardware Supply
One of the biggest reasons behind the slowdown is the rapid expansion of the AI industry. Chipmakers like Intel and AMD are reportedly prioritizing production of high-profit server processors such as Xeon and EPYC chips instead of consumer CPUs. As a result, desktop and laptop processors are facing supply shortages and price increases. Reports also suggest that additional CPU price hikes may arrive later in 2026.
RAM and Storage Prices Continue to Rise
Memory prices have also increased sharply over the past year. Reports claim RAM and storage now account for over 30% of a PC’s total build cost, compared to around 15% previously. Because of these rising costs, many laptop makers have increased prices by 10–20%, while some affordable models are now offering weaker specifications to keep prices under control. This has reduced consumer purchasing power and slowed upgrade demand.
GPU Market Shows Little Excitement
The gaming GPU market is also struggling to attract buyers. NVIDIA has not introduced major RTX 50 series upgrades in 2026, while rumors suggest the RTX 60 series may not launch until 2028. GPU prices also remain high in many regions, making gaming PC upgrades less attractive for consumers. Many users are reportedly choosing to keep their older PCs longer instead of spending heavily on new hardware.

Oppo’s next phone could have a square selfie camera
According to tipster Digital Chat Station, a smartphone maker is currently evaluating a 100MP 1:1 square front-facing camera sensor. The tipster did not directly name the company, but the emoji shared in the post strongly suggests the device belongs to Oppo.
And this isn’t the first time Oppo has been rumored to be working on a square selfie camera technology. Back in February, the same source claimed that both Huawei and Oppo were paying close attention to 1:1 square sensors and were considering them for future front-facing cameras.
The biggest advantage of a square selfie sensor is flexibility. Traditional front cameras are usually optimized for vertical shots, which means users often need to rotate the phone horizontally to record wider selfie videos or group shots. A 1:1 square sensor changes that by capturing a larger image area.
The technology also pairs well with AI features. It can be helpful with features such as automatic subject centering and wider field-of-view adjustments for improved video calls, livestreams, and short-form content creation.
All iPhone 17s use a 24MP square sensor. Oppo testing a 100MP solution could result in higher-resolution selfies and more detailed video capture.

We have already seen a few foldable announcements in the first quarter of 2026, and there are certainly more coming in the months ahead. Insider Digital Chat Station (DCS) has now shared details about Vivo’s entry for this year, likely to be called the X Fold 6.
The most important detail here is that the X Fold 6 could use MediaTek’s Dimensity 9500. Vivo’s foldables have so far relied exclusively on Snapdragon chips, with the last model, the Vivo X Fold 5, shipping with the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 3.
If that happens, the X Fold 6 would also become the first foldable phone to launch with the Dimensity 9500.
Vivo X Fold 6 could upgrade the main camera to 200MP
On the camera side, the X Fold 5 features three 50MP lenses. The X Fold 6 is reportedly upgrading the main sensor to 200MP while retaining a 50MP ultra-wide and a 50MP 3x periscope telephoto camera. The circular camera module design is also expected to stay, at least based on the prototype device that DCS reportedly got hands-on with.
The X Fold 6 is said to include a side-mounted fingerprint sensor for biometrics, which is the usual choice for slim foldables.
Vivo X Fold 5
And speaking of slim, Vivo made a point of the X Fold 5’s weight last year. At 217 grams, it was lighter than the iPhone 16 Pro Max at launch, and the company called it the lightest foldable it had ever made. The X Fold 6 is likely to build on that foundation.
Durability was another highlight of the X Fold 5. It comes with both IPX8 and IPX9 ratings and reportedly survived thousands of folding cycles in water. We hope the company brings further improvements this time around.
No launch date has been confirmed yet. The X Fold 5 launched in June last year at 6,999 yuan, so a similar timeline could place the X Fold 6 sometime this summer, although nothing has been finalized. We will know more once Vivo decides to make things official.

Qualcomm has just announced two new affordable smartphone chipsets, the Snapdragon 6 Gen 5 and Snapdragon 4 Gen 5, and they promise to be bigger than just an annual refresh. Both chips offer an all-around upgrade, with the performance and efficiency getting a major uplift.
The latest Snapdragon 6-series chip uses the same 4nm node as its predecessor but upgrades CPU and GPU to deliver higher performance and stability. The connectivity upgrades and advanced AI camera features are also promising, raising the bar for mid-range chipsets.
CPU offers 20% faster app launch and faster multi-core performance
On the CPU side, the peak clock speed jumps from 2.3 GHz to 2.6 GHz, and because the Snapdragon 6 Gen 5 upgrades to a (4 performance + 4 efficiency) cluster, all four performance cores benefit from higher speeds.
Its predecessor, the Snapdragon 6 Gen 4, uses a (1 prime + 3 performance + 4 efficiency) CPU cluster, so the peak speed of 2.3 GHz applies only to a single core, while the remaining seven cores operate at lower speeds. The shift from one 2.3 GHz “prime” core to four 2.6 GHz performance cores in the Gen 5 significantly improves multi-core performance. The new chip also promises a 20% faster app launch.
GPU upgrades with premium features and 21% faster performance
The upgraded Adreno GPU delivers 21% better performance and brings modern gaming features for sustained performance and higher stability. The new 6 Gen 5 chip introduces premium gaming features usually found on flagship chips, including the Adaptive Performance Engine 4.0, which dynamically manages device resources and thermals to ensure sustained FPS during long gaming sessions.
The new SoC also brings Snapdragon Game Super Resolution and Qualcomm Game FPS 3.0 to deliver sharper graphics and stable frame rates, with official HDR gaming support.
Camera gets advanced AI features
With the latest camera upgrades, Snapdragon 6 Gen 5 narrows the gap with high-end chips. It adds 100x in-sensor zoom support for the first time in the Snapdragon 6-series. The feature uses AI to enhance clarity when using extreme digital zoom.
The new chip also brings AI-based low-light technology, which is designed to capture sharper, more vibrant photos in dark environments, and supports 4K HDR recording at 30 fps.

One of the biggest highlights of the Snapdragon 6 Gen 5 is Wi-Fi 7 support, which was previously reserved for high-end flagship chips. Qualcomm claims a 43% faster app launch on the Snapdragon 4 Gen 5 compared to its predecessor. The new chip also delivers 10% better power efficiency.
Upgraded camera and connectivity
The Snapdragon 4 Gen 5 adds support for 1080p video recording at 60fps and electronic image stabilization. It also brings a suite of photography tools, including intelligent face detection, auto-focus, auto-exposure, and auto-white balance.
The fifth-generation chip includes a 5G modem with a higher peak download speed of 2.8Gbps (vs. 2.5Gbps on the 4 Gen 4). It supports Dual SIM Dual Active (DSDA) 5G + 5G/4G connectivity for the first time in the Snapdragon 4-series. This means both SIM slots can maintain simultaneous connections without compromise. Realme looks set to add another model to its growing 16 series lineup in India. The upcoming Realme 16x has now surfaced on the BIS certification website, which usually means an official launch isn’t too far away.
The certification was reportedly approved on May 6, 2026, suggesting Realme is already wrapping up regulatory formalities for the Indian market. Tipster Abhishek Yadav also recently mentioned the Realme 16x on X, claiming the phone will launch soon in India. According to the leak, the device could arrive in two color options: Endurance Brown and Glory White.

That setup makes it pretty clear Realme is targeting the affordable 5G segment again. At the moment, specs for the new model are still under wraps, but the overall positioning likely won’t change too much. Expect the Realme 16x to land somewhere in the ₹15,000 to ₹18,000 range, competing with the usual crowd of budget 5G phones.
It’ll also expand the broader Realme 16 lineup, which already includes the standard Realme 16, Realme 16 Pro, and Realme 16 Pro Plus.
With the BIS certification now live, an official announcement could happen within the next few weeks. Huawei spent much of its Bangkok launch event talking about smartwatches, including the new Huawei Watch Fit 5 Pro and Huawei Watch GT Runner 2 Racing Legend Edition, but the company also introduced a new flagship tablet called the Huawei MatePad Pro Max.
The new MatePad Pro Max is Huawei’s latest premium tablet, and the company is making thinness one of its biggest selling points. At just 4.7mm thick and weighing 499g, Huawei says the MatePad Pro Max is the world’s thinnest and lightest flagship tablet.
Huawei MatePad Pro Max Specifications
The device features a 13.2-inch flexible OLED PaperMatte display with 3K resolution, 144Hz refresh rate, 1600 nits peak brightness, and 1440Hz PWM Dimming. Huawei says the PaperMatte technology reduces glare and improves visibility in bright environments.
The bezels are also unusually slim at 3.55mm. Huawei has hidden the 12MP front-facing camera system inside the bezel itself. The back has a 50MP rear camera.
The MatePad Pro Max also supports keyboard accessories and stylus input, and the company says it’s designed for “PC-level productivity.” Speaking of which, the tablet delivers 20% performance bump and 30% better heat dissipation than the MatePad Pro 2025.
Despite its slimness, Huawei has fitted in a big enough 10,400mAh battery, which is good for over 14 hours of video on a single charge. For audio, you get a six-speaker setup with quad-driver bass and four microphones.

The Huawei MatePad Pro Max is launching in two flavors: 12/256GB and 12/512GB. Pricing starts at £999.99, and you can choose between Blue and Space Gray shades, though Huawei says regional availability will vary depending on the market.

Samsung has announced a major advancement in wearable healthcare technology. A new clinical study conducted in partnership with Chung-Ang University Gwangmyeong Hospital in South Korea found that the Samsung Galaxy Watch6 can predict fainting episodes before they happen.
The research focused on vasovagal syncope (VVS), one of the most common causes of fainting. According to the study, the smartwatch was able to warn users up to five minutes before a fainting episode with an overall accuracy of 84.6%.

What is Vasovagal Syncope?
Vasovagal syncope occurs when a person experiences a sudden drop in heart rate and blood pressure. This can temporarily reduce blood flow to the brain, causing loss of consciousness.
Common triggers include stress, fear, emotional shock, anxiety, and pain. While fainting itself is usually not life-threatening, sudden falls can lead to serious injuries such as fractures, head trauma, and concussions.
Researchers noted that up to 40% of people may experience VVS at least once during their lifetime, while many patients suffer repeated episodes.
How the Galaxy Watch6 Detected Fainting Risk
The study involved 132 patients with suspected VVS symptoms. Under medical supervision, participants underwent induced fainting tests while wearing the Galaxy Watch6.
The smartwatch used its built-in photoplethysmography (PPG) sensor to collect heart rate variability (HRV) data. Researchers then analyzed the data using an AI-based prediction system.
The results showed:

Samsung says this is the world’s first successful demonstration of a commercially available smartwatch predicting fainting spells in advance.
Samsung Plans More Preventive Health Features
Professor Junhwan Cho, who led the research, said early warnings could give patients enough time to sit down, lie safely, or seek help before collapsing.
Samsung also stated that it plans to expand AI-powered preventive healthcare features in future Galaxy wearables. The findings of the study were published in the European Heart Journal, Digital Health.
At its latest global launch event in Bangkok, Huawei introduced a new batch of wearables. Leading the announcement was the Huawei Watch Fit 5 series, consisting of a vanilla and Pro model.

The watches also expand outdoor fitness features. Cyclists can now see virtual power and cadence metrics in real time, while the Pro model adds trail running navigation and golf support with access to more than 17,000 courses globally.
Both the model features improved sleep tracking, a-fib (atrial fibrillation) analysis, and the usual health and wellness features. The Pro, however, adds ECG and arterial stiffness detection. It also supports women’s health management with a temperature sensor that tracks wrist temperature trends and predicts period, ovulation day, and cycle.

As for the battery, the company says the Watch Fit 5 series can last up to 10 days under lighter usage conditions and around a week with more regular use. Both watches support Android and iOS.

Alongside the fitness-focused watches, Huawei also introduced something far more extravagant, the Huawei Watch Ultimate Design Spring Edition. Co-designed with jewelry designer Francesca Amfitheatrof, the smartwatch is covered with 99 natural diamonds, sapphire crystal detailing, and a titanium case inspired by Fibonacci patterns.
Despite the luxury focus, Huawei still packed in the usual smartwatch features. The watch supports ECG monitoring, respiratory tracking, eSIM calling, NFC payments, and even diving support up to 40 meters.
Huawei Watch GT Runner 2 Racing Legend Edition
Then there’s the Huawei Watch GT Runner 2 Racing Legend Edition, which targets serious runners instead of luxury buyers. Huawei says the watch improves GPS accuracy by 20%, thanks to a redesigned floating antenna system and dual-band satellite positioning.
The company also worked with marathon runner Eliud Kipchoge on training features that include pace predictions, race preparation plans, lactate threshold analysis, and fueling reminders during long runs.
The Watch GT Runner 2 supports more than 100 sports modes and promises up to 14 days of battery life under lighter use. Like the rest of Huawei’s latest wearables, it works with both Android and iPhone devices, though some features remain limited on iOS.

Huawei says the Huawei Watch Fit 5 Series will be available starting May 7 through the Huawei Store. The standard Watch Fit 5 is priced at £159.99, and the Watch Fit 5 Pro costs £249.99.

Following a brief teaser campaign, Xiaomi has officially unveiled the Gaming Mouse 2 on its Youpin platform. It is a lightweight, spec-heavy wireless mouse aimed directly at the competitive gaming market, and it arrives with a retail price of 399 yuan ($58) and an introductory price of 349 yuan ($51). The mouse will officially go on crowdfunding sale on May 11.

The trend of ultra-lightweight gaming peripherals is well-established at this point, and Xiaomi is leaning into it. The Gaming Mouse 2 weighs in at just 58 grams. According to the company, the ergonomic shell was designed using grip data from competitive players to accommodate claw, fingertip, and palm grip styles. To keep the weight down without compromising build quality, the internal structure relies on a lightweight umbrella skeleton frame, which helps maintain a balanced 1:1 front-to-rear weight distribution.
Under the hood, Xiaomi is utilizing a custom PixArt PAW3955XM sensor. The specifications are exactly what you would expect from a modern high-end mouse: up to 40,000 DPI, 750 IPS tracking speed, and 60G acceleration. Xiaomi has also included a dedicated esports mode that pushes the static scan rate over 20,000 FPS.
For players who want granular control, the mouse supports one-step DPI adjustments and comes factory-calibrated with a DPI error rate of less than one percent. It also features Motion Sync for consistent cursor tracking, five levels of lift-off distance adjustment, a 1-degree angle snapping system, and the ability to track on glass surfaces thicker than 4mm.
The mouse runs on a Telink TL3228 dual-core controller. This hardware allows it to support an 8000Hz polling rate in both wired and 2.4GHz wireless modes. To help with wireless stability at that speed, the mouse sends duplicate data packets across two channels every 125 microseconds.
For the buttons, Xiaomi went with TTC optical switches for the main left and right clicks, along with a TTC gold wheel encoder for the scroll wheel, which is rated for two million cycles.
You can connect the mouse via a braided USB-C cable, 2.4GHz wireless, or Bluetooth 6.1. It has a 530mAh battery that Xiaomi says lasts up to 160 hours in 2.4GHz mode, though that estimate requires lowering the polling rate to a standard 1000Hz. You can adjust settings like DPI, polling rate, and sensor tuning through a web-based tool or local software, and save them directly to the mouse’s onboard memory.

Qualcomm has officially introduced the new Snapdragon 6 Gen 5 and Snapdragon 4 Gen 5 chipsets, bringing several premium smartphone features to affordable and mid-range devices. Smartphones powered by these processors are expected to arrive in the second half of 2026.

The Snapdragon 6 Gen 5 is the more powerful chipset of the two. It features four performance cores clocked at 2.6GHz and four efficiency cores at 2.0GHz. Qualcomm claims the chipset delivers 21% better GPU performance, 20% faster app launches, and 18% lower screen lag compared to the previous generation.
One of the biggest highlights of the Snapdragon 6 Gen 5 is the inclusion of Wi-Fi 7 and Bluetooth 6.0 support, features that were previously limited mostly to flagship smartphones. The chipset also supports AI-powered Night Vision photography, 100x AI zoom, Snapdragon Game Super Resolution, and cameras up to 200MP.
Meanwhile, the Snapdragon 4 Gen 5 is designed for budget and affordable mid-range smartphones. It includes two performance cores running at 2.4GHz and six efficiency cores at 2.0GHz. Qualcomm says the chipset delivers a major 77% GPU performance improvement along with 43% faster app launches.

Samsung’s cutting-edge 1.4nm node takes a big step forward as the company begins its early testing on the upcoming Exynos chipset. The upcoming Exynos chip in question will reportedly have higher peak clock speeds and a massive 96MB of System Level Cache (SLC), along with many notable upgrades.
Since Samsung’s more focused on improving the yield stability of its 2nm process, we’ll see a couple more iterations of the 2nm GAA process before the 1.4nm process enters mass production. That also means the 1.4nm Exynos chip under testing is unlikely to be the unreleased Exynos 2700. Regardless, the early details of this 1.4nm Exynos chip, shared by @SPYGO19726, look promising.
The chip will have a 10-core CPU cluster divided into a ‘2+4+4’ configuration. The two prime cores achieve a maximum speed of 4.50GHz, while the current Exynos 2600 peaks at 3.8GHz. That’s a solid 19% jump in the peak speed. Further, the four performance cores operate at 3.80GHz, and the four efficiency cores run at 2.00GHz.
Perhaps the most exciting development of this Exynos chip is the integration of 96MB of SLC cache. The tipster also reports an ultra-wide bus width to minimize latency between the CPU cores and the GPU. A large SLC can store much more frequently used data to achieve a lower memory latency and a boost in bandwidth. This effectively reduces the need for components such as CPU, GPU, NPU, and ISP to remain active all the time to send information to the larger cache.
Unfortunately, it’s more expensive to produce chipsets with a large SLC cache because it occupies a significant portion of the silicon die. And with larger dies, production costs also go up. It’s important to note that 10MB is the highest SLC cache in smartphone chips, found in the Dimensity 9500. Bumping it to 96MB would result in a die size incompatible with smartphone form factors. However, it can be used in many other device categories.
With Samsung targeting 2029 for the mass production of its 1.4nm node, there’s still plenty of time for development and optimizations. Therefore, it’s best to treat these early details with a grain of salt. Consequently, while these early specifications are exciting, it’s best to treat them with a grain of salt.

The Redmi K100 series won’t debut in China until October, but early details about the lineup have already begun to surface online. The latest leak sheds light on the key specifications of the vanilla Redmi K100.
According to industry insider Digital Chat Station, the K100 will feature a 6.6-inch display on the front. Not much different from Redmi K90, but the battery and charging could get a real upgrade.
Redmi K100 could get wireless charging
The leak suggests the phone could pack an 8500mAh cell, and adds that the company is further experimenting with larger capacities. By comparison, the Redmi K90 already ships with a sizeable 7,100mAh battery. Wired charging will remain at 100W, though Redmi may finally bring 50W wireless charging to the standard model as well.
These are the first set of specs revealed for the Redmi K100. Earlier reports, however, suggested the device could also see a price increase.
A previous report suggests the device may still arrive with last-gen Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5, but the price could increase to 4,000 yuan, or some $585. For comparison, the Redmi K90 was launched at CNY 2,599, which roughly translates to $380.
One of the main reasons behind the increase is said to be rising memory costs. As such, several smartphone makers in China have already raised prices on select models in recent months.
As for the higher-end variant, the Redmi K100 Pro Max is rumored to feature the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6 alongside a 200-megapixel primary camera using a 1/1.28-inch sensor, as well as a 50-megapixel periscope telephoto lens.

OnePlus hasn’t said anything official about the OnePlus 16 yet, but leaks out of China keep coming. The latest one, from tipster Digital Chat Station on Weibo, reveals key specs of the phone, and they line up pretty well with everything we’ve heard before.
According to the leak, the OnePlus 16 will be powered by the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6 Pro, which carries the model code SM8975. It’s an up-and-coming chip from Qualcomm expected to reach 5GHz clock speed.

OnePlus 16 again tipped with ultra-high refresh rate
On the display side, earlier leaks suggested a minimum refresh rate of 185Hz, with OnePlus reportedly evaluating support up to 240Hz. The new leak confirms a BOE flat screen with an “ultra-high refresh rate,” which is consistent.
The panel is also said to use LTPO and LIPO packaging technologies to reduce bezels to around 1mm on all four sides. Whether it actually ships with 240Hz support is still unclear; the company is apparently still testing it.
OnePlus 15
As for the camera, the tipster reiterates that it will feature a 200MP periscope telephoto unit. Previous leak suggests the sensor could be in the 1/1.x-inch territory. The rest of the rear camera system is expected to include a 50MP primary and a 50MP ultrawide.
The OnePlus is also expected to get a major battery upgrade. Digital Chat Station‘s latest post mentions a maximum of 9,000mAh. A separate tipster previously claimed the same figure, so there’s at least some agreement there. The phone is also said to include a bionic X-axis vibration motor, symmetrical dual speakers, full water resistance, and a dedicated AI button.
As for software, the OnePlus 16 is expected to ship with OxygenOS 17 on top of Android 17. The phone is reportedly targeting a China launch in October, though no date has been confirmed.

Huawei looks like it’s bringing back something most smartphone brands have quietly moved away from: true long-range optical zoom. Fresh leaks surrounding the upcoming Mate 90 Pro Max suggest the phone could feature a dedicated 10x optical periscope camera, alongside a second telephoto lens.
If accurate, it would mark a pretty significant shift at a time when many Android flagships are leaning more heavily on high-resolution sensors and digital cropping instead of native long-range optics. For context, the Mate 80 Pro Max already features a fairly capable dual-telephoto setup, combining a 50MP periscope camera with 4x optical zoom and a second 50MP periscope lens offering 6.2x optical zoom.
The leak comes not too long after Oppo showed what a modern 10x setup can do with the Find X9 Ultra. That phone uses a 50MP sensor paired with a 230mm-equivalent periscope lens and a complex prism arrangement, allowing it to maintain surprisingly good detail even at higher zoom levels. Oppo also pushed the idea of “lossless” 20x zoom through sensor cropping.
Huawei seems to be taking a somewhat similar direction. The Mate 90 Pro Max is rumored to pair the 10x periscope camera with a large 1-inch-type main sensor and Huawei’s XMAGE imaging system.
Exact details about the telephoto hardware are still unclear, but Huawei has experience in this area. The P40 Pro+ from 2020 was one of the first phones to offer proper 10x optical zoom in a relatively compact body, using a folded light-path design to make it work. In a way, the upcoming Mate series could be seen as Huawei revisiting that idea with newer hardware and smarter image processing.
The wider Android market has largely shifted away from this approach. Samsung, for instance, brought back 10x optical zoom on the Galaxy S21 Ultra using a dual fixed-focus telephoto setup, matching the zoom range of the experimental Galaxy S4 Zoom from 2013. However, the company later moved to a 5x optical zoom setup on the Galaxy S24 Ultra to accommodate a larger 50MP sensor.
Huawei’s current Pura 90 Pro Max already pushes zoom pretty far with its 200MP telephoto, especially for video at higher magnification levels. The Mate 90 Pro Max is expected to build further on that foundation, pairing a larger sensor inside a 10x periscope module with AI-powered image enhancement.

Google is moving to TSMC’s 2nm process for the chipset, which should help quite a bit with efficiency and sustained performance, two areas Pixel phones have been criticized for in the past. The chip itself uses a 1+4+2 CPU setup, combining ARM’s newer C1-series cores with a PowerVR GPU. There’s also a refreshed TPU for AI tasks, the Titan M3 security chip, and notably, a switch to the MediaTek M90 modem.
That last part is important because it means Google may finally be moving away from Samsung’s Exynos-based modem setup, something Pixel users have complained about in the past due to heat and connectivity issues. The MediaTek M90 itself is a newer 5G-Advanced modem introduced in early 2025, and appears to succeed the M80 modem found in the Dimensity 9100.
Google Pixel 11 series specs (rumored)
The regular Pixel 11 is expected to feature a 6.3-inch OLED display with a 60-120Hz refresh rate, HDR brightness up to 2,000 nits, and peak brightness reaching 3,100 nits. Battery capacity is listed at 4,840mAh rated. For comparison, the current Pixel 10 has a rated capacity of 4,835mAh, while the marketed typical capacity sits at 4,970mAh. Camera-wise, the phone is tipped to get a new 50MP main sensor, along with 8GB or 12GB RAM options.
Moving up the lineup, the Pixel 11 Pro and Pixel 11 Pro XL are expected to bring sharper displays with resolutions of 1280×2856 and 1344×2992, respectively. Both panels are also tipped to reach up to 2,450 nits HDR brightness and 3,600 nits peak brightness. RAM options reportedly go up to 16GB, while the camera setup sees upgrades to both the main and telephoto sensors.
As for battery capacity, the Pixel 11 Pro is listed with a 4,707mAh rated cell, while the Pro XL is expected to pack a 5,000mAh battery. The capacities themselves are fairly close to the Pixel 10 series, but the move to the 2nm Tensor G6 chip could still help improve overall battery life and efficiency.
Google is reportedly removing the infrared thermometer and replacing it with a small RGB LED setup called “Pixel Glow.” From what’s being described, it works somewhat like a smaller version of Nothing’s Glyph interface. The previously rumored IR face unlock apparently still isn’t ready for this generation.
Taken together, the Pixel 11 lineup looks less like a dramatic redesign and more like Google refining the experience in areas where previous Pixels fell short: better thermals, improved cellular connectivity.
Casio has officially released the GMW-BZ5000RC-1 in the United States. It is the newest addition to the company’s 5000 series of full-metal watches. The model originally launched in Japan in April 2026, followed by a gradual rollout in the UK and select European markets. It is now listed on Casio’s US website and available to purchase for $880.
Design Details
The main draw of this specific model is the design of the case. Casio has tweaked the construction of the 5000 series here, connecting the bezel and the center case at the top and bottom to leave the middle section exposed. That exposed center case is treated with a gradient rainbow ion-plated finish. Because of how the plating process works, the color distribution is slightly different on every unit. It also features gold-colored screws and a glass face treated with a matching rainbow vapor deposition.
Underneath the metal, it still relies on a resin bumper system to absorb impacts. Interestingly, Casio says that it used AI to help design the watch’s structure, feeding decades of drop-test data into a model to optimize the 3D shapes of the interlocking metal components.
Beyond the metal casing, the most practical upgrade is the display. Instead of the traditional LCD found on standard G-Shocks, the GMW-BZ5000RC-1 uses a Memory in Pixel (MIP) screen. MIP displays are noticeably easier to read in direct sunlight and offer much higher contrast. Because it’s a higher-resolution panel, Casio included a feature in its companion mobile app that lets you switch the display font. You can use a standard modern digital font, or swap it to a Classic mode that digitally recreates the blocky, 7-segment look.
The rest of the spec sheet is standard for Casio’s higher-end digital watches. It includes Bluetooth for automatic time syncing with your phone, Multiband 6 radio control as a fallback for time calibration, and solar charging. With the power-saving mode turned on, the watch can theoretically last up to 22 months in complete darkness. It also maintains the standard 200 meters of water resistance.
SanDisk has introduced a new portable storage drive in China, the ELE series 1TB portable SSD (upgraded model), which is currently available for an introductory price of 869 yuan (128). It is a straightforward storage device aimed at people who need to keep large files, like video projects or high-resolution photos, on hand without taking up much physical space.

The SSD measures 75mm long, 45mm wide, and about 10mm thick, and it weighs just 31.7 grams. Because it is small and lightweight, it fits easily into a pocket, a camera pouch, or a laptop bag. SanDisk says that the drive is tested to survive drops from up to two meters, providing standard physical protection for everyday handling and travel.
The drive connects via a USB-C port using the USB 3.2 Gen 2 interface, which supports a theoretical maximum bandwidth of 10Gbps. In terms of actual performance, SanDisk says the SSD can reach read speeds of up to 600MB/s.
This speed is sufficient for standard tasks like transferring documents, moving media files, or running routine backups. It is noticeably faster than older mechanical hard drives, though it sits well below the 1,000MB/s or 2,000MB/s speeds offered by more expensive, higher-end portable SSDs currently on the market.
SanDisk has not released the exact write speeds for the ELE, noting only that they are slightly lower than the read speeds. This is a common practice for entry-level and mid-range storage devices, but it is something to keep in mind if your workflow involves writing very large batches of files to the drive on a regular basis, as the transfer might take a bit longer than the advertised read speed suggests.
For compatibility, the SSD is a plug-and-play device. It works out of the box with most hardware that has a USB-C port, including Windows PCs, Macs, tablets, and Android smartphones, without needing extra software. It operates safely in temperatures between 0°C and 45°C and includes a three-year limited warranty.
Asus is releasing a new gaming laptop in China, the Tianxuan 7 Pro (Intel Edition), alongside the Tianxuan 7 Pro Max. Pre-orders start on May 8, when the company also plans to announce pricing. It is a 16-inch laptop that runs on Intel‘s new Core Ultra 200HX processors and Nvidia’s RTX 50-series graphics cards.

Norwegian manufacturer reMarkable has announced reMarkable Paper Pure as its new entry-level e-ink tablet.
The Paper Pure features a 10.3-inch Canvas display based on E Ink Carta 1300 technology that offers 1872 x 1404 resolution and a 4:3 aspect ratio. Like other devices in the company’s portfolio, it’s built to simulate the feel of writing on paper, complete with palm rejection.
The design is nothing to write home about, but it’s slim at 6.0 mm thick and weighs around 360 grams.
Under the hood
Inside, the device runs on a 1.7 GHz dual-core Cortex-A55 processor, paired with 2GB of RAM and 32GB of internal storage. It runs reMarkable’s custom Linux-based operating system, designed specifically for digital paper use cases like note-taking, annotation, and distraction-free reading.
The Paper Pure supports PDF and EPUB imports, while exports include PDF, PNG, and SVG formats. Meanwhile, the handwriting conversion is powered by MyScript.
The device also connects with reMarkable apps available on macOS, Windows, iOS, and Android, along with browser extensions for Google Chrome and Microsoft Office.

Honor is doubling down on the big battery game. After pushing into the 10,000mAh category with last year’s WIN series, the company is now rumored to be expanding that strategy across more devices.
According to a recent leak, Honor is preparing four additional smartphones with 10,000mAh-class batteries. Add those to the three models already out, and Honor will have seven 10,000mAh phones in total. No other brand is anywhere near that number.
Honor is testing a dual-cell 10,000mAh battery
Two of the upcoming four phones are more interesting. One is said to feature a 12,000mAh battery, which would set a new high for mainstream smartphones.
The second device is reportedly using a dual-cell 10,000mAh battery design, which could be a first for the industry. The dual-cell setup helps with heat and charging efficiency, meaning Honor might actually pull off 120W fast charging on a 10,000mAh phone without it turning into a hand warmer.
Honor Win
The leak doesn’t confirm product names, but based on rumors, the phones could be a part of Honor X80, Honor Power 3, and a new WIN 2 series.
Right now, Honor already dominates this segment in its home market. Out of the four existing 10,000mAh-class phones, three belong to the company. The only exception is the Vivo Y600 Pro, which comes with a 10,200mAh battery and sits at the lower end of the price range.
Other brands are expected to enter this space too. Oppo, Xiaomi, and Huawei are all rumored to be working on similar devices this year. But their approach is more cautious. They will likely launch one model and see how it goes.

Asus is releasing a new 18-inch gaming laptop in China called the Tianxuan 7 Pro Max. Scheduled to go on sale starting May 8th, the laptop is a large, desktop-replacement style machine that pairs AMD’s current high-end processors with Nvidia’s new RTX 50-series graphics cards.

Inside, the laptop runs on the AMD Ryzen 9 9955HX processor, a 16-core, 32-thread chip designed for heavy workloads and gaming. For graphics, buyers have a few configuration options: an RTX 5060, an RTX 5070, or the higher-tier RTX 5070 Ti. To manage the heat generated by these components, Asus is using a dual-fan cooling system with 0.1mm fan blades. Under heavy load, the laptop is rated to handle a total system power draw of up to 205W.
The screen is an 18-inch display with a 2560 x 1600 resolution. It features a 300Hz refresh rate and a 3ms response time. The panel covers 100% of the DCI-P3 color space, reaches 500 nits of brightness, and includes Nvidia G-Sync to prevent screen tearing. Sony looks like it’s changing direction a bit with the next Xperia flagship, especially when it comes to zoom photography. Fresh leaks surrounding the upcoming Xperia 1 VIII suggest Sony is moving away from the variable telephoto system used on the Xperia 1 VII.
The details come from listings spotted on Amazon Germany and Amazon UK, reported by NotebookCheck. According to ITHome, the Xperia 1 VIII swaps the previous continuous optical zoom lens for a fixed 70mm telephoto camera with 3x optical zoom.
On paper, that sounds like a downgrade. The Xperia 1 VII could smoothly shift between 85mm and 170mm focal lengths (roughly 3.5x-7.1x), something no phones offer as of early 2026. But Sony seems to be compensating in another area that arguably matters more for everyday use: sensor size.
A much larger telephoto sensor (rumored)
The new telephoto camera is said to use a much larger 48MP 1/1.56-inch sensor, replacing the older 12MP 1/3.5-inch unit. That’s a pretty big jump, and it should help with light capture, detail, and low-light performance. There’s a chance the trade-off could actually work in Sony’s favor.
While the extreme long-range zoom from the older model may be gone, most users could end up getting better-looking photos in the focal lengths they actually use more often. The main and ultra-wide cameras reportedly stay familiar, sticking to 24mm and 16mm equivalents.
Outside the camera system, benchmark listings show the Xperia 1 VIII (Sony XQ-GE54) running Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 chip paired with 12GB RAM. Geekbench scores floating around online point to flagship-level performance.
There also seem to be a few design tweaks this time around, including what looks like a more squared-off camera module. At the same time, Sony is apparently keeping some of the things Xperia fans tend to care about, including the 3.5mm headphone jack and the tall cinematic-style display.
Nothing is official yet, but the overall direction is becoming clearer. Sony doesn’t seem interested in chasing the highest zoom numbers anymore. Instead, it looks like the company is trying to improve the kind of shots people take most often, while still keeping that enthusiast-focused Xperia identity intact.
iQOO 15T has been in the rumor mills for a while now. A new rumor today is giving us a first look at the device, or more like a part of it.
Reliable insider Digital Chat Station (DCS) from Weibo shared a back image of the iQOO 15T showing the square camera module. The device, at least from what’s visible in the leak, borrows heavily from the brand’s Ultra series design language.
The camera module has two visible lenses along with the flashlight, while the rim has a knurled texture. The device has metal frames confirmed by the antenna lines, while this seems to be the silver shade of the iQOO 15T.
On the front, the leak hints at a 6.83-inch flat display with a 2K resolution. The tip also claims a 144Hz refresh rate, which is the same as the iQOO 15 Ultra. The camera module is led by a 200-megapixel main sensor, which DCS is the first for any iQOO flagship. However, details about its other rear cameras remain under wraps
What else can you expect?
There are also early expectations around performance and battery. Previous rumors suggest the device may run on a Dimensity 9500 chipset and could include a large 8000mAh battery with support for 100W fast charging.
Apart from this, iQOO is also expected to announce a flagship tablet called the iQOO Pad 6 Pro. The phone and tablet could launch together, likely this month.

CMF has launched the Watch 3 Pro in India, bringing its latest smartwatch to the market after its earlier international debut in January. The new model succeeds the Watch Pro 2 and adds upgraded fitness tracking, AI tools, Bluetooth calling, and longer battery life.
The CMF Watch 3 Pro features a 1.43-inch AMOLED display with a 466 x 466 pixel resolution, 60fps refresh rate, 326ppi pixel density, 650 nits typical brightness, and up to 670 nits peak brightness. On the camera side, Vivo is sticking to a familiar triple-camera setup. The X300 FE includes a 50-megapixel Sony IMX921 main sensor, accompanied by a 50-megapixel telephoto lens using the IMX882 sensor with 3x optical zoom, and an 8-megapixel ultra-wide camera. On the front, there’s a 50-megapixel camera for selfies and video calls.

After weeks of teasing, Vivo has officially launched the Vivo X300 Ultra in India. It follows the smartphone’s Chinese debut in late March, and as expected, not much has changed.
The device revolves around the idea of offering a camera-first experience. It features a 14mm ultra-wide camera using a 50MP Sony LYTIA 818 sensor with an f/2.0 aperture, OIS, and third-generation VCS bionic spectrum technology.
The 35mm main camera uses a 200MP Sony LYTIA 901 sensor with an f/1.85 aperture, improved light intake, and reduced reflectivity. The 85mm telephoto camera is based on a 200MP Samsung HP0 sensor and offers 3-degree gimbal-level stabilization with support for up to 60 autofocus operations per second.
All of this is housed in what Vivo describes as a metal, pancake-style camera module with a knurled texture. The device comes in Victory Green and Eclipse Black and carries IP68 and IP69 ratings for dust and water resistance.
Vivo X300 Ultra with teleconverter module
The Vivo X300 Ultra is also compatible with two external teleconverter modules. The first is the Zeiss Telephoto Extender Gen 2 Ultra, which offers 400mm focal length using a 15-element optical structure. Meanwhile, the non-ultra Zeiss Telephoto Extender Gen 2 has a 200mm focal length with around 8.7x optical zoom.

After extensive beta testing, Samsung has finally started rolling out the stable One UI 8.5 update, based on Android 16 QPR2. As anyone would easily guess, it’s the Galaxy S25 series getting the first bite of the stable rollout.

Stable One UI 8.5 rollout took a lot longer
Samsung took a lot longer to kick off the stable One UI 8.5 rollout than we had expected. The beta program for the Galaxy S25 went live in December 2025, and over the next five months, Samsung released ten beta builds. That’s well above four or five betas Samsung usually pushes before the stable release.
The stable rollout has finally gone live, and Samsung appears to be speeding things up. The update has already reached seven devices in a single day. Xiaomi has released more details about its upcoming Gaming Mouse 2. Last week, the company teased the new PC peripheral, and a recent post on Weibo finally outlines the core specifications. The main takeaway is that Xiaomi is using a custom PixArt sensor, which suggests the company is trying to make a more serious entry into the PC gaming accessory market rather than just releasing a basic budget option.
The mouse is built around a custom PixArt PAW3955XM sensor. PixArt makes the sensors for most major gaming mice, and this particular version comes with some high specifications. It supports a maximum sensitivity of 40,000 DPI. While nobody actually plays games at 40,000 DPI, a high maximum sensitivity usually means the sensor will track accurately and consistently at the lower settings most people actually use.
Along with the high DPI, the mouse has a maximum tracking speed of 750 IPS (inches per second) and up to 60G of acceleration. In everyday use, this just means the mouse can keep up with fast physical movements.
Xiaomi also noted a maximum static frame rate of over 20,000 FPS and a 1 percent DPI precision rate, which includes a 1-to-1 factory calibration. According to the company, this setup is intended to prevent cursor drift and frame drops during both small micro-adjustments and larger movements.
Looking at the promotional images, the design is fairly standard. It has a symmetrical shape, but it includes two side buttons on the left edge, making it best suited for right-handed users. Xiaomi is marketing it as an esports mouse, pointing to the sensor, internal controller, and factory tuning as proof of its competitive focus.
Of course, a spec sheet doesn’t tell the whole story. The shape, weight, and overall feel are usually what make or break a gaming mouse. Xiaomi hasn’t shared the weight, battery life, wireless polling rate, or price yet. The company usually prices its devices lower than traditional gaming competitors like Logitech or Razer, but we won’t know how it actually compares until it officially launches.

Oppo has started preparing the Reno 16 series for launch, with pre-reservations now open in China. A new leak, however, suggests the company is working on an entirely different Reno phone that sits somewhere between a traditional slab and a foldable, without actually folding.
According to tipster Digital Chat Station(DCS), they have gotten hands-on with an engineering prototype of what is referred to as the “Reno X.” And its description is a bit unusual for a regular phone.

The device reportedly features a 6.39-inch flat display, but with a resolution of “21xx×13xx” and an aspect ratio closer to 16:10. That’s noticeably wider than most modern smartphones, which typically stick to tall, narrow designs.
The idea here, at least based on the leak, is that this phone mimics the experience of a foldable, just without the hinge.
Moreover, the prototype is said to run on a Dimensity 9-series flagship chipset, and the battery is reportedly capped at around 7,000mAh.
On the camera side, the device is rumored to feature a triple-camera system with a 50-megapixel main sensor and a periscope telephoto lens.
A user in the comments shared a model design of a device measuring 143mm by 91mm, to which DCS replied that the purported Reno X looks pretty much the same.
As for the launch, the tipster says the current internal plan for the Oppo Reno X is to debut alongside the company’s annual flagship lineup, likely referring to the Oppo Find X10 series. This clears up any confusion about whether it will launch with the Reno 16 series.

Xiaomi has had a line of massage guns in its portfolio for a few years now. The company is adding a new model today, the Xiaomi Long-Handled Fascia Gun 3, which will go on crowdfunding on May 13th through the Xiaomi Youpin platform.
The crowdfunding price is set at 299 yuan (~ $44); however, the price will reach 399 yuan (~ $59) once the campaign ends on May 20th.
The headline spec here is a 12kg thrust with a mass depth of up to 6mm. It can actually get into your muscle tissue and break down lactic acid buildup rather than just buzzing on the surface.
A more interesting and practical feature of the Gun 3 is its dual-handle design. You can switch its head with a long handle (useful for reaching your back) and a short handle for standard use, with a simple plug-and-twist mechanism.

The device runs on a brushless motor tucked into an integrated body. It supports three speed levels across two modes. The gun has a velocity indicator ring that changes color based on how much pressure you’re applying. White means the right amount, Orange is if you push a bit hard.
The Xiaomi Long Handled Fascia Gun 3 can run up to 30 days with its built-in 1900mAh pack. The claim is likely, considering that you will use it for short sessions and not a continuous single run.
It comes with three interchangeable massage heads, letting you target different muscle groups with different contact shapes.

Xiaomi has announced the pre-sale launch of its latest air purifier, the Xiaomi Mijia Air Purifier 6, in China. The new model is available for pre-order starting today, while the official sales will begin on May 13.
The air purifier costs 1,799 yuan (~ $263), though Xiaomi is currently offering it at a reduced price of 1,399 yuan (~ $204) during the initial sales window.

Inside, the Mijia Air Purifier 6 uses a dual-filter architecture combined with a dual-fan blade setup to create what Xiaomi calls a “dual-airflow” system. Practically, that means faster air circulation and higher purification capacity compared to the previous generation.
Xiaomi claims the new purifier can remove up to 99% of formaldehyde within two hours, and 99.99% of PM10 in just one hour. Tree pollen allergens, a common concern in many regions, are reduced by 98.9% over the same period. The overall particulate matter purification efficiency is 1.7 times better than before.
The purifier also has a six-layer composite filtration system, including a primary filter for larger debris, an antibacterial layer, a high-density formaldehyde filter, a nano-level precision filter, a specialized carbon layer for chemical absorption, and a UV sterilization layer reducing bacteria and viruses.
On the hardware side, the Mijia Air Purifier 6 is designed to deliver high airflow — up to 11,666 liters per minute — while maintaining relatively quiet operation at 26.6dB(A). It also features a closed top design to prevent dust buildup, with a flat surface that can double as a small storage area.
The device includes six built-in sensors to monitor air quality factors like PM1, PM2.5, dust, formaldehyde, temperature, and humidity. It is compatible with Xiaomi’s HyperOS ecosystem, so you can connect it with other smart home devices.

The tablet runs Android 16 and includes Lenovo’s AI Engine+. The software features include improved in-game sound, AI noise cancellation for voice chat, and AI-based touch sensitivity optimization.
For cameras, the Legion Tab Gen 5 has a 50MP rear camera and a 50MP front-facing camera. The battery capacity is 9,000mAh, with support for 68W fast charging.
Connectivity options include Wi-Fi 7, Bluetooth 6.0, and USB-C audio. Lenovo has also included two USB-C ports, allowing users to charge the tablet while connecting accessories or peripherals.

Xiaomi has started selling the Redmi Watch 6 and Redmi Watch 6 NFC outside China, months after the smartwatch first launched in its home market in October. The international rollout currently covers Poland, Romania, and Thailand, though the NFC model is available only in Poland for now.
The Redmi Watch 6 features a 2.07-inch AMOLED display with a 60Hz refresh rate, 324ppi pixel density, 2mm symmetrical bezels and an 82% screen-to-body ratio. Xiaomi says the panel can reach up to 2,000 nits of peak brightness, which should help with outdoor visibility. The watch also supports an always-on display and raise-to-wake functionality.
The smartwatch has a 9.9mm body and uses a unibody design with an aluminum alloy frame. Xiaomi says it is 1.4mm thinner than the previous generation, with 20% higher Vickers hardness and a 40% higher yield point. The design includes a raised stainless steel dial and an extra physical button. The added button can open the control center, access the shutdown or restart menu, and trigger an emergency contact shortcut when pressed three times.
Battery life is another major specification. The Redmi Watch 6 packs a 550mAh battery rated for up to 24 days with light use, 12 days with normal use, and seven days with intensive use. It also includes a linear motor with more than 20 vibration patterns for alarms, notifications, fitness alerts, and health updates.
For fitness and outdoor tracking, the watch supports more than 150 sports modes, 5ATM water resistance and independent GNSS. The GNSS setup uses dual L1 antennas and supports five systems for improved positioning accuracy. Xiaomi says the watch can automatically select the antenna with the stronger signal based on how it is being worn.
Health features include 24/7 heart rate monitoring, blood oxygen tracking, stress monitoring, sleep analysis, breathing exercises, abnormal heart rate alerts, low blood oxygen vibration alerts and women’s health management. The Redmi Watch 6 NFC adds contactless payments through Mastercard and Visa.

GOBOULT has launched two new portable Bluetooth speakers in India under its Mustang-branded lineup, the Mustang GT20 and Mustang GT40. The speakers bring an automotive-inspired design, but the boxy shape, textured body, front grille, and prominent script-style branding may also look familiar to anyone who has seen Marshall-style speakers.
The Mustang GT20 is the smaller model in the lineup. It offers 20W sound output and uses dual dynamic drivers with a passive bass radiator. GOBOULT has added several car-themed design touches, including a leather-textured finish, metallic race grille, Mustang branding, underbody DRLs, and traction-inspired base detailing.
The GT20 also includes an ignition-style shift-stick control that works like a push-start mechanism and plays a sound effect. There is a fuel-gauge-style battery indicator and RGB lighting as well. For connectivity, the speaker supports Bluetooth 6.0, TWS pairing, TF card playback, and USB playback. It offers up to 7 hours of battery life and carries an IPX4 rating for water resistance.

Unlike the GT20, the GT40 comes with dedicated metallic knobs for bass, treble, and volume control. It also includes a fuel-gauge-style battery display. Connectivity options remain the same, with Bluetooth 6.0, TWS stereo pairing, Bluetooth playback, TF card support, and USB playback. Battery life is rated at up to 7 hours, and the speaker also gets IPX4 water resistance.

Casio has brought its new Electro Green G-Shock collection to the US. First announced in Japan earlier this April, the lineup takes five of the company’s existing watch models and updates them with a new color scheme. The design is straightforward: a standard matte black case and band, paired with neon green text and a green-tinted LCD panel.

The collection ranges from $110 to $180, split between standard battery-powered models and slightly more expensive versions equipped with Bluetooth and solar charging.
At the top of the price list is the $180 GA-B010BEG-1A. Along with the standard shock and water resistance, it includes Casio’s Tough Solar charging system and Bluetooth connectivity. You can link it to the Casio smartphone app to automatically sync the time, ping your phone if you lose it, and adjust the watch’s alarms. It also features a built-in step tracker.

The $165 GA-B2100BEG-1A shares the solar charging and Bluetooth features but skips the step tracker, opting instead for the familiar octagonal case design often referred to as the CasiOak. Both of these connected models are built using Casio’s bio-based carbon and resin materials.
For those who just want a traditional watch without app connectivity, there are three other options. The $110 GD-010BEG-1 is the only fully digital watch in the group. It also uses bio-based resin and runs on a standard CR2025 battery that Casio estimates will last about 10 years.

The remaining two models are analog-digital hybrids made from standard resin. The GA-100BEG-1A costs $120 and includes a magnetic-resistant case along with a speed indicator dial, running on a two-year battery. As expected from the G-Shock line, all five watches share a baseline set of features. They are shock-resistant, water-resistant up to 200 meters, and include basic functions like stopwatches, countdown timers, world time, and daily alarms.

Alongside the Honor Play 80 Plus,Honor today announced another budget smartphone called the Honor Play 70C. The phone gets the basics right and targets the most entry-level segment.
The phone starts at 599 yuan (around $90) for the 4GB RAM and 64GB storage version. There are two other configurations: 4GB + 128GB at 699 yuan and 6GB + 128GB at 799 yuan.

For the price, the Honor Play 70C features a 6.75-inch IPS LCD with a 90Hz refresh rate and a 720 × 1600 resolution. The panel includes a waterdrop notch that houses a 5MP front-facing camera, which is about what you’d expect at this price point.
On the back, the device has a single 13MP main camera capable of shooting 1080p video and supporting up to 10x digital zoom.
Powering the phone is the MediaTek Helio G81 Ultra chipset, paired with up to 6GB of RAM and 128GB of storage. It’s backed by a relatively large 5,300mAh battery.
The Play 70C runs Android 15 with MagicOS 9.0 out of the box. Connectivity options include dual SIM 4G, dual-band Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 5.1, GPS, and even a 3.5mm headphone jack.
Honor is offering the phone in multiple color options, including Midnight Black, Moonlight Silver, and Ocean Blue (also referred to as Ink Rock Black, Moonlit Silver, and Lake Blue in some listings). The device itself is fairly slim at 7.89mm and weighs 186 grams.
The Honor Play 80 Plus is a better phone with a larger 7,500mAh battery and a Snapdragon 4 Gen 4 chipset. But the Play 70C sticks to the basics, a low-cost phone that focuses on battery life, modest performance, and just enough features to get by.

Ugreen has introduced a new 45W power bank, the Rhythm Series S45 (model PB603), currently listed on JD.com in China for 199 yuan ($29). It features a standard 10,000mAh capacity and is designed to address a very common annoyance: remembering your battery pack but forgetting the charging cable. By integrating a built-in USB-C cable, it offers a straightforward solution for keeping your devices powered on the go.

The device measures 152 x 71 x 29.8 mm. On the outside, it has a ripple-textured finish to help with grip and a small TFT digital display on the front to clearly show the remaining battery percentage.
The built-in 45W USB-C cable sits at the top, supports the PD3.0 fast charging standard, and features a braided finish to handle standard wear and tear. Ugreen hasn’t detailed the rest of the port selection yet.
Inside the casing, the power bank uses ATL battery cells, which are generally known in the industry for their reliability. Ugreen notes that this model includes updated battery technology aimed at extending its overall lifespan.
The company states the new model offers a 166% improvement in charge cycle longevity over its previous generation, which was rated for around 300 cycles.
For safety, it uses a proprietary Battery Management System (BMS) to monitor charging conditions. According to the company, the device has gone through over 150 testing procedures to meet China’s latest 3C safety standards.
Some of these tests are quite specific, for instance, Ugreen says the battery cell passed a puncture test with a 4mm steel needle and withstood 1.43 tons of pressure without catching fire or failing. It also reportedly survived a 135°C heat chamber test.
To keep things cool during standard 45W fast charging, the device relies on a four-layer cooling system. This includes high thermal conductivity graphene materials and an NTC intelligent temperature control system that Ugreen says performs up to 360,000 temperature checks per hour to prevent overheating.

The global smartphone market in early 2026 turned out to be increasingly top-heavy. According to market research firm Counterpoint Research, the iPhone 17 was the best-selling smartphone globally in Q1 2026, grabbing 6% of all global smartphone sales on its own.
The iPhone 17 Pro Max and iPhone 17 Pro followed right behind in second and third place, meaning Apple owned the top three spots on the list entirely.
Senior analyst Harshit Rastogi says the iPhone 17 outperformed its predecessor by a clear margin. The base model got meaningful upgrades this time with more storage out of the box, a higher-resolution camera, and a faster screen refresh rate. This narrowed the gap between the standard and Pro models, which seems to have pushed more buyers toward the cheaper option.
Sales in China and the US grew by double digits year-over-year. South Korea was even better, where sales tripled compared to the previous generation.
Android’s budget segment dominates the market
On the Android side, Samsung dominated with five spots in the top ten, all from its Galaxy A budget lineup. The Galaxy A07 4G was the top-selling Android phone of the quarter, driven by demand in the Middle East, Africa, and Latin America. Samsung is now promising six years of software updates on these devices.
The Galaxy S26 Ultra didn’t crack the top ten, though Samsung says it opened stronger than the S25 Ultra did.

The only Chinese brand to make the list was Xiaomi, with the Redmi A5 landing at number ten. It’s also the cheapest device on the list and has held steady demand in emerging markets since launch.
All in all, the top ten phones accounted for 25% of all global smartphone sales, the highest share ever recorded for a first quarter. Two things explain that: iPhone 17 demand stayed strong, and a memory chip shortage pushed up component costs, which squeezed Android manufacturers trying to compete at lower price points.
Counterpoint’s Karn Chauhan says the overall phone market is likely to shrink in 2026, with the budget segment taking the hardest hit. Manufacturers seem to know this already, as most are shifting resources toward higher-end products rather than racing to sell volume.
Xiaomi seems to be getting ready to bring another budget tablet to more markets, this time under the Poco brand. A new FCC listing has revealed details of what is expected to launch as the Poco C Pad.
The tablet showed up in the FCC database with model number 2603APC14G. The filing itself does not mention the Poco C Pad name, but the same model number has already been linked to it through Xiaomi’s HyperOS code. The listing also confirms support for 18W charging, though it looks like a charger may not be included in the box.
One small detail that stands out is the color options. The device is listed in Pantone finishes, including Cool Gray and Red. It adds a bit of personality to what is otherwise a fairly straightforward tablet.
In terms of hardware, this is not entirely new. The Poco C Pad is expected to be a rebranded version of the Redmi Pad 2 9.7, which Xiaomi launched recently in some markets. So the overall experience should be quite similar.
That means a 9.7-inch LCD display with a 2K resolution and a 120Hz refresh rate, along with a slim metal body that keeps things relatively light at just 401 grams. Under the hood, it is powered by the Snapdragon 6s Gen 2 4G processor, paired with up to 4GB of RAM and 128GB of storage, expandable via microSD.
The rest of the setup is fairly standard. You get an 8MP rear camera, a 5MP front camera, dual speakers, a headphone jack, and optional 4G connectivity. Nothing flashy, but enough for everyday use. The tablet packs a 7,600mAh battery, which Xiaomi claims can last well over a day on mixed usage. It runs HyperOS 3 based on Android 16, with features like cross-device integration and some AI-assisted tools built in.
Pricing should stay on the lower side. In markets like Malaysia, the Redmi version starts at around RM560, which is equivalent to US$140. Prices may vary across regions, but it should stay in a similar range.
With certification already in place, an official announcement does not seem too far away.
Zebronics has added a new flagship soundbar to its home audio lineup in India. The ZEB-Juke Bar 9890 is a 5.1.2 channel system that supports both Dolby Atmos and DTS:X. It is currently available on Amazon and Flipkart with a launch price of ₹29,999 ($315).

The system has a total stated output of 1030W RMS, which is divided among a few different components. The main soundbar unit contains five drivers, three facing forward and two pointing upward to handle the height channels required for spatial audio formats.

Zebronics also includes its own internal audio processing, which it calls Zeb-AcoustiMax, designed to manage the surround sound distribution.

The main bar features a basic LED display on the front to show the current input or volume level, and the unit includes the necessary hardware to be mounted to a wall.
The connectivity options cover the standard requirements for a modern TV setup. The primary connection is HDMI eARC, which is necessary to transmit high-bandwidth audio formats directly from the TV.
It also features an optical input, a 3.5mm auxiliary jack, and a USB port for playing MP3 files from a flash drive. For wireless audio playback from a phone or tablet, it uses Bluetooth 5.3.

Smart rings are becoming pretty common, and RingConn has just announced its third-generation model. The main updates for the RingConn Gen 3 are a built-in vibration motor and a feature that tracks nighttime blood pressure trends. It costs $349 globally (or $314 if you pre-order) and, like the company’s previous models, it doesn’t require a monthly subscription to use the companion app.

Physically, the Gen 3 is a titanium ring with a medical-grade epoxy resin on the inside. It’s about 2.3mm thick and weighs between 2.5 and 3.5 grams depending on the size you get, which keeps it in line with the standard footprint for this category. The sensors inside are what you’d expect: an optical heart rate sensor, a temperature sensor, and an accelerometer.
The most noticeable hardware change is the vibration motor. Putting haptic feedback in a ring without making it bulky or severely draining the battery is usually tricky, but RingConn included it to give you physical nudges.
The ring vibrates for things like a low battery, high stress, or if you’ve been sitting still for too long. It’s a small change, but it means you don’t have to look at your phone as often to know what the ring is doing.
On the health tracking side, RingConn is introducing a feature it calls Vascular Health Insights. It is important to note that this isn’t a medical diagnostic tool. Instead, it monitors your blood pressure trends automatically overnight while you sleep. The goal is to show you how your daily habits might be affecting your vascular patterns over time.
The Gen 3 also adds sleep apnea pattern tracking and full-cycle predictions for women. For daily use, it tracks standard metrics like blood oxygen, stress, and workouts, with automatic detection for basic exercises like walking, running, and cycling.
Coming to the battery life, RingConn says the Gen 3 lasts 11 to 14 days if you turn the vibrations off, and 10 to 12 days if you leave them on. It comes with a wireless charging case that holds up to 150 days of standby charge and takes about 90 minutes to recharge the ring. It’s also water-resistant up to 10ATM, so you don’t need to take it off to shower or swim.
The ring works with both iOS and Android, and it syncs with Apple Health and Google Health Connect. If you happen to be away from your phone, the ring can store up to 10 days of data locally.

Google has already released four betas of Android 17, which are more than enough to show us what the upcoming version has in store. There are some new, exciting features, as well as many essential upgrades to existing ones, that make the software more useful and feature-rich.
With the stable Android 17 release approaching, here are the eight features or upgrades I can’t wait to try.
1. A native app lock, finally
Google is finally bringing the ability to lock individual apps, a feature users have been requesting for years. You will be able to lock apps directly from the home screen by long-pressing an app icon and choosing the “App lock” option from the quick options menu.
You can set up app lock using a PIN, pattern, password, or biometrics like fingerprint or face unlock, without needing a third-party app. This feature on the Google Pixel works just like any other app lock, but keep in mind that notifications for a locked app, along with all associated shortcuts and widgets, will be hidden.
Google notes that certain AI features, such as Gemini’s screen automation, may still be able to interact with apps, depending on permissions. You’ll be notified if other apps have access to the app you’re locking.
Most Android skins, including One UI, already have this feature, but it’s a nice welcome addition for Google Pixels.
2. Floating app bubbles make multitasking easier
The bubble feature has been around for quite a few years now, but it was restricted to messaging and conversations. Android 17 takes it a major step forward by allowing users to turn any app into a floating bubble.
For example, if you’re watching a tutorial on YouTube and noting important steps on Google Keep, you’ll be able to convert Google Keep into a floating bubble for quicker access. When you tap the Keep bubble, the app will open in a small floating window, while the YouTube tutorial plays in full screen. This is better than switching between the two apps and using them in a split-screen view.
You will be able to close an app bubble by dragging it to the bottom of the screen.
Bubbles are more useful on large-screen devices like foldables or tablets where the user has more screen to work with than on a regular smartphone.
3. A more powerful screen recording with a preview screen
Android 17 will upgrade the screen recording experience with a more refined UI and a new preview screen. Currently, when you tap the screen recording tile in Quick Settings, a pop-up shows up asking about the recording area and audio options.
In Android 17, when you tap the screen recording tile, a new floating pill interface will show up, letting you choose what to record, whether to record device audio or microphone (or both), and whether to show touches. You can tap the status indicator in the status bar to bring back the floating pill UI.
Once you stop the recording, you’ll see a new preview screen where you can play, edit, delete, or share the clip instantly without opening the gallery.
4. Mandatory Large-Screen Adaptivity
Google enforces a stricter policy on app resizability and orientation, preventing developers from restricting apps to a single orientation on large devices (sw ≥ 600dp). This effectively skips smartphones (generally below 600dp) and targets tablets and larger-screen devices.
The latest move is designed to make Android apps truly adaptive. On a device running Android 16 or an earlier build, if you open a portrait-locked app on a landscape tablet, the app appears as a tall, narrow window in the center of the screen, with thick black bars on the sides. In Android 17, the app would rotate to fill the gap, resulting in a more usable screen and better app experience.
Games are exempted from these strict mandates to ensure they don’t break during critical gameplay.
Google began phasing out apps’ ability to restrict screen orientation and resizability on large-screen devices with Android 16. However, it still allowed app developers to opt out of this change. But Android 17 makes it mandatory, and developers will no longer be able to opt out.
5. Hide app names on the home screen
In the Beta 3 build, Google introduced a feature that lets users hide the app labels on the home screen. This isn’t a big step, but it helps users create a cleaner home screen setup.
To hide app labels, you’ll need to go to Wallpaper & style, tap Home screen, select Icons, tap the Names tab at the bottom, and turn off the toggle for Show app names. Keep in mind that this won’t affect the app drawer or apps inside folders.
6. Separate Wi-Fi and mobile data toggles
On Pixel devices running Android 16 or earlier, if you need to switch between Wi-Fi and mobile data, or turn them on or off, you must open Quick Settings, tap the Internet tile, and then perform the action.
Many users have expressed their frustration with the extra step required to access Wi-Fi or mobile data. After nearly four and a half years, Google is finally allowing users to add separate Wi-Fi and mobile data toggles in Android 17.
This change would particularly benefit Pixel users, as most other Android skins, including Samsung’s One UI and OnePlus’s OxygenOS, already have it.
7. Give apps limited access to your contacts
Right now, there’s no way to give apps access to specific contacts. If you grant the contacts permission, the app will have access to all contacts stored on your device.
This is certainly not a privacy-focused approach, and therefore, Google is introducing a new system-level Contact Picker interface that will allow users to select one or more contacts to share with an app at a time. Google says apps won’t be able to track any changes you make to a contact’s information.
Contact Picker grants temporary, session-based read access to the specific data fields selected by the user. That means the app will need to request permissions again after the session timeout, further strengthening users’ privacy.
8. Seamless task continuity on another device
Google is working on a “Task Continuity” feature, which will allow users to sync notifications, share files, and continue apps across their linked Android devices. Essentially, you will be able to transfer an app’s current state from one Android device to another. This feature could debut with Android 17.
This feature will show a suggestion on the taskbar representing the running app from another device. When you click this suggestion, the system initiates the handoff and passes the remote app’s state, as Android Authority explains.
Google announced the new Handoff API in Android 17 Beta 2, which allows developers to specify the application state to resume on another device. Once enabled, the Android system displays a handoff suggestion in the launcher of the user’s nearby devices.
Final build may not include all of them
If you’ve been following Android releases, you’d know that Google doesn’t include all the features from the beta builds into the final package. But there’s a very good chance some of them will make it to the final release.
All the features we’ve discussed so far are available in the Android 17 beta releases. You can get an eligible Google Pixel to test them or wait for the stable release, which could happen around June 2026.

2026’s flagship race is already settled, at least on paper. The phones launched between January and April — from Samsung, Xiaomi,OPPO, Vivo, Honor, Motorola, Huawei, and iQOO — will define what a high-end Android phone looks like for the rest of the year.
New chipsets will come, but these are the devices most people will be comparing, buying, and arguing about through December. So here’s what actually shipped, and what each one is trying to do.
January
Motorola Razr Fold
Motorola introduced the Razr Fold at CES 2026 as its first book-style foldable. Unlike the Razr’s usual clamshell form, this one opens up like a tablet, with an 8.1-inch 2K LTPO inner display and a 6.6-inch cover screen. The cover screen is large enough that you can handle most everyday tasks without unfolding the device.
The camera setup is all 50-megapixel across the board: a Sony LYTIA main sensor, an ultra-wide with macro support, and a periscope telephoto with 3x optical zoom. There’s also a 32MP camera on the outer display and a 20MP shooter on the inner screen. Video recording supports Dolby Vision. The phone also supports Motorola’s Moto Pen Ultra stylus.
Honor Magic 8 RSR Porsche Design
Honor kicked things off with the Magic 8 RSR Porsche Design, which went on sale in China on January 23rd. The phone is what it sounds like: a high-end device made in collaboration with Porsche Design, with finishes called Slate Gray and Moonstone, and a back panel made of microcrystalline nano-ceramic material that Honor says has a Mohs hardness rating of 8.5.
Inside, it runs Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5, with configurations going up to 24GB of RAM and 1TB of storage. The camera setup includes a 50MP main sensor, a 50MP ultra-wide, and a 200MP telephoto with 3.7x optical zoom and up to 100x digital zoom. Battery is 7,200mAh with 120W wired and 80W wireless charging. It also supports satellite communication and IP68/IP69K water resistance.
Honor is also selling an optional photography kit with a magnetic grip, filter adapter, and external telephoto lens. It runs MagicOS 10 with Porsche Design-themed UI elements layered on top.
February
Samsung Galaxy S26 Series
Samsung’s February Unpacked event brought the Galaxy S26, S26+, and S26 Ultra. The base S26 has a 6.3-inch FHD+ Dynamic AMOLED 2X display, while the S26+ bumps that up to 6.7 inches at QHD+ resolution. Both have 1-120Hz adaptive refresh rates and Gorilla Glass Victus 2.
Galaxy S26 and S26 Plus
Depending on your region, these phones ship with either the Exynos 2600 or the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5. The main camera across the standard models is a 50MP sensor, paired with a 12MP ultra-wide and a 10MP telephoto with 3x zoom. The S26 has a 4300mAh battery, the S26+ has a 4900mAh battery, and both support Qi2 wireless charging at 20W.
Samsung Galaxy S26 Ultra
The S26 Ultra takes a different direction. It has a 6.9-inch QHD+ display with Gorilla Armor 2, runs exclusively on the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5, and includes a 200MP main camera, a 50MP ultra-wide, a 10MP telephoto at 3x, and a 50MP periscope lens at 5x zoom. Battery is 5000mAh with Super Fast Charging 3.0. The S Pen is still here. The software on all three runs One UI 8.5 on Android 16, with AI features like Photo Assist, Now Brief, and Creative Studio built in.
Xiaomi 17 Ultra
Xiaomi launched the 17 Ultra in China in February, and it arrives with one of the more interesting camera setups of the year. The main camera uses a 1-inch Light Fusion 1050L sensor co-developed with Leica, shooting at 50MP. The telephoto is a 200MP Leica-certified lens that supports lossless optical zoom between 75mm and 100mm, going up to 400mm digitally. The ultra-wide is a 50MP sensor with 115-degree FOV.
The display is a 6.9-inch OLED with up to 3,500 nits peak brightness, 1-120Hz adaptive refresh rate, and Dolby Vision support. It runs Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5, and Xiaomi says the phone can mirror and control Apple devices through its HyperOS 3.0 software.
The battery is 6,800mAh, the largest in any Xiaomi Ultra device. It charges at 90W wired and 50W wireless. Despite all of that, Xiaomi says the 17 Ultra is the thinnest Ultra device it has made, at 8.29mm.
iQOO 15 Ultra
The iQOO 15 Ultra is a performance-first phone, and it makes that clear from the spec sheet. The display is a 6.85-inch flat Samsung AMOLED at 2K resolution with a 144Hz refresh rate and 8,000 nits peak brightness. The touch sampling can go up to 4000Hz.
The phone runs Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 alongside iQOO’s in-house Q3 esports chip, and the company claims an AnTuTu score of 4.51 million.
iQOO 15 Ultra
For cooling, it has a 59-blade fan and an 8,000mm² vapor chamber. The phone also includes pressure-sensitive shoulder triggers and a 500Hz gyroscope. Battery is 7,400mAh with 100W wired and 40W wireless charging.
On the camera side, it’s a triple 50MP system consisting of main, ultra-wide, and periscope telephoto with 3x optical zoom. Not the headline feature here, but solid. It runs OriginOS 6 on Android 16 and supports 8K video recording.
March
OPPO Find X9 Ultra
OPPO’s Find X9 Ultra is the most camera-forward device on this list. It’s the only 2026 flagship to use two 200MP cameras, one for main and another for 3x telephoto. Both deliver maximum detail in portrait and general photography. There’s also a dedicated 50MP 10x optical zoom telephoto and a 50MP ultra-wide.
OPPO is leaning hard on the Hasselblad partnership here. The new Hasselblad Master Mode includes features like True Detail for 8K output across six focal lengths, a full-link ProXDR pipeline, and nine film presets that try to simulate real film color behavior rather than just slapping a filter on.
Video-wise, it supports 8K at 30fps and 4K at 120fps in 10-bit Log format, along with custom 3D LUT import and an ACES color management workflow. TILTA accessories like ND filters and manual focus grips are available for it. The phone runs Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 with a 144Hz 2K display, a 7,050mAh battery with 100W wired and 50W wireless charging, and IP66/IP68/IP69 water resistance.
OPPO Find N6
OPPO’s Find N6 is pitching itself as the world’s flattest foldable, and the engineering behind that claim is genuinely interesting. The hinge uses a bionic four-axis structure built with chip-level polymer 3D printing, reducing surface unevenness to 0.1mm. Paired with memory glass that restores up to 99.9% flatness after folding, the crease situation is about as controlled as any foldable has managed. It’s TÜV certified for 600,000 folds.
The inner display is an 8.12-inch QXGA+ foldable OLED, and the outer cover screen is a 6.62-inch FHD+ AMOLED, both running 1-120Hz adaptive refresh with 240Hz touch sampling. The outer panel peaks at 3,600 nits.
Cameras follow the same Hasselblad-partnership playbook as the Find X9 Ultra: a 200MP main with dual-axis OIS leads, supported by a 50MP ultra-wide, a 50MP 3x telephoto, and a dedicated Danxia color calibration lens. It supports 8K stills and 4K 120fps Dolby Vision video.
The chipset is the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5, paired with a 6,000mAh battery, 80W wired and 50W wireless charging. It folds to 8.93mm and weighs 225g, with IP56/IP58/IP59 ratings.
Vivo X300 Ultra
Vivo’s X300 Ultra follows a similar camera-first philosophy as the Find X9 Ultra, but leans into a Zeiss partnership instead of Hasselblad. The camera array includes a 50MP ultra-wide (Sony LYTIA 818), a 200MP main camera (Sony LYTIA 901), and a 200MP telephoto (Samsung HP0) with gimbal-level stabilization.
Vivo X300 Ultra – Victory Green
Vivo is also selling two external teleconverter modules, one for 200mm and one for 400mm. The imaging system supports 4K 120fps Dolby Vision and 4K 120fps 10-bit Log recording, along with 3D LUT imports and ACES workflows.
The display is a 6.82-inch 2K LTPO AMOLED at 144Hz. Battery is 6,600mAh with 90W wired and 40W wireless charging. It runs OriginOS 6 on Android 16 and carries IP68/IP69 ratings.
April
Huawei Pura 90 Pro and Pura 90 Pro Max
Both the Huawei Pura 90 Pro and 90 Pro Max share the same XMAGE imaging philosophy and a Red Maple multispectral lens, but the Pro Max gets better hardware meaningfully across the board.
The Pro Max camera system leads with a 50MP RYYB main sensor (1/1.28-inch) with OIS, LOFIC tech, and a variable aperture from f/1.4 to f/4.0. The telephoto is a 200MP RYYB periscope unit with 4x optical zoom, up to 8x optical-quality zoom, CIPA 7.0 stabilization, and what Huawei calls an industry-first three-in-one super concentrating prism. Rounding it out is a 40MP RYYB ultra-wide.
The standard Pro keeps the same main sensor and aperture setup but steps down to a 12.5MP ultra-wide and a 50MP periscope telephoto.
Both phones run on the Kirin 9030S, a step below the Kirin 9030 Pro found in the Pura X Max foldable. Huawei claims a 200 percent improvement in NPU image understanding over the previous generation, with gains in AI ISP color processing, telephoto video clarity, and stabilization accuracy. AI features are central to the software pitch — AI pose recommendations, composition assist, portrait retouching, and one-click photo creation are all present, alongside an upgraded Xiaoyi assistant with real-time pointing recognition and voiceprint detection.
The Pro Max has a 6.9-inch display; the Pro gets 6.6 inches. Both use single-punch-hole cutouts. The Pro Max also gets Kunlun glass protection, which Huawei says cuts reflections by 70 percent and improves scratch resistance up to 16 times over standard glass. Both phones run HarmonyOS 6.1.
OnePlus Ace 6 Ultra
The OnePlus Ace 6 Ultra is squarely aimed at mobile gamers. It runs on the MediaTek Dimensity 9500, built on TSMC’s third-gen 3nm process, with OnePlus claiming a 32% performance uplift and 55% better power efficiency over the previous generation.
Keeping things cool is a 6,000mm² vapor chamber that sits alongside a Glacier Cooling System and a deeper integration of OnePlus’s Wind Chaser Gaming Kernel.
OnePlus Ace 6 Ultra
The headline accessory is an optional Strix Gaming Controller with a joystick-free layout, mechanical triggers rated at 1.8ms response time, a dedicated e-sports chip, and support for magnetic cooling modules. It’s the kind of peripheral ecosystem you’d more typically associate with a dedicated gaming phone brand.
The display is a 6.78-inch 1.5K LTPS OLED at 165Hz with 4,000Hz instantaneous touch sampling. As for cameras, it has a 50MP main with OIS and an 8MP ultra-wide unit. The battery is a large 8,600mAh dual-cell unit with 120W wired charging. It runs ColorOS 16 on Android 16, and carries IP66/IP68/IP69/IP69K ratings.

The upcoming Honor 600 series is gearing up for its China debut later this month, and new leaks have revealed some exciting upgrades. According to tipster Digital Chat Station, the China variant could bring major improvements, especially in battery capacity and color options.

For the past ten years, I have relied almost entirely on air conditioning to get through the summer. Where I live, temperatures regularly reach 45°C (113°F), and the heat can be difficult to manage.
However, running an AC unit all day comes with a significant downside: high electricity bills. This year, I decided to look for a more cost-effective way to cool my home during the daytime. I wanted to see if a modern desert cooler could do the job without using as much power.
To test this out, I received the Kenstar TALL BOY Honey Comb 105 Litre BLDC Desert Cooler (Model: KCLTBDBL105FRH) as a review unit. It retails for ₹15,990 ($168) and features a Brushless Direct Current (BLDC) motor, which is designed to be energy efficient.
After using it for a week, including during a particularly hot and humid stretch of weather, I have a clear understanding of how it performs, where it works well, and what its limitations are. Here is my experience using it as a daily cooling solution.
Design and Dimensions
The first thing you notice about the Kenstar Tall Boy is its height. It stands 1428 mm tall, which is about 4.7 feet. It is a large appliance that will be very noticeable in whatever room you place it in. However, the height serves a specific, practical purpose.
Many standard desert coolers are relatively short, meaning the air they blow often hits the side of a bed or the back of a chair. By elevating the 40.6 cm (16-inch) fan, the Tall Boy directs the airflow higher up. When I am sitting at my desk or lying in bed, the air reaches me directly rather than cooling the floor.
Despite being tall, the cooler’s footprint is fairly standard for its capacity, measuring 630 x 445 mm. It fits reasonably well into the corner of my dining room and doesn’t take up too much floor space on my balcony. The body is made from ABS and HIPS plastic. It feels sturdy enough for regular indoor and covered outdoor use, and it hasn’t shown any signs of strain.
When the cooler is empty, it weighs 18 kg, which is manageable to move. But this model has a 105-liter water tank. Once you fill it up, the total weight exceeds 120 kg. To handle this, Kenstar included four castor wheels at the base. I was initially concerned about moving it when full, but the wheels roll smoothly on flat floors. I can push it from the living room to the terrace without much effort, though you do have to be careful over door thresholds.
BLDC Motor and Power Consumption
This model comes with a BLDC motor. Traditional desert coolers of this size usually consume between 200 and 250 watts of electricity. The Kenstar Tall Boy is rated at 145 watts. While that might not sound like a massive difference on paper, it adds up over a month when you are running the cooler for 10 to 15 hours a day. It is a noticeable reduction in power consumption compared to older models.
This low wattage also provides a very practical benefit during power cuts. Because it draws only 145 watts, the cooler runs easily on my standard home inverter. In areas where the power grid can be unreliable during peak summer months, being able to keep your primary cooling appliance running on battery backup is highly convenient.
Kenstar says that the motor uses a double ball bearing system. In practice, this is meant to reduce internal friction, which should help the motor last longer and run a bit smoother. It comes with a five-year warranty on the motor, which provides some peace of mind regarding its durability.
Cooling Performance and Airflow
If you are transitioning from an air conditioner to a desert cooler, there is a learning curve. I made the mistake of setting the Tall Boy up in a closed bedroom on the first day. Desert coolers use evaporative cooling, which naturally adds moisture to the air. Because the room lacked ventilation, the humidity increased quickly, and the room just felt sticky and uncomfortable.
Once I realized my error, I moved the cooler to my dining area and opened a window to allow for cross-ventilation. The difference was immediate. In an open space, the cooler works effectively. The fan pushes out 4500 m³/h (cubic meters per hour) of air, and Kenstar claims an air throw of 50 feet.
While I didn’t measure the exact distance, it easily circulates air across my entire living space. The motorized louvers move side to side, helping to distribute the air evenly rather than blowing it in just one direction.
The cooling media consists of honeycomb pads on three sides. They hold water well, don’t sag, and provide consistent evaporation.
For particularly hot afternoons, the cooler has an ice chamber on top. You can add ice cubes to cool the water before it runs through the pads. It does lower the temperature of the air noticeably for a short period. Once the ice melts, it returns to standard evaporative cooling, which is still effective as long as you keep a window or door open.
Day-to-Day Use and Maintenance
Living with a 105-liter cooler is fairly straightforward. The large tank is very convenient; a full tank easily lasts me 12 to 15 hours of continuous use. I can fill it in the evening and run it through the night without worrying about the water running out. There is a clear water level indicator on the front, so you can check how much water is left at a glance.
The cooler includes a dust filter net on the outside of the cooling pads. This is a simple but useful feature. It catches larger dust particles, pet hair, and insects, stopping them from getting stuck in the honeycomb pads. This means the pads stay cleaner for longer, and the air smells fresher. Also, a quick heads-up for new buyers: if you have just bought it, you will likely notice a distinct smell for the first two days of use, but it eventually goes away completely.
The control panel is a modern touch interface that is intuitive and easy to use, and it also comes with a handy remote control. The touch panel works really well with absolutely no issues, housing all the necessary buttons including power, fan settings, cooling on or off, swing, and a timer. It offers seven different fan speeds, which is highly practical. You can keep it on a low setting for a gentle breeze or turn it up when you need to cool the room quickly.
There are a few drawbacks to keep in mind. First, moving this volume of air generates noise. On the lower settings, it is a manageable background hum. But on the highest fan speeds, it is quite loud. If you are watching TV or taking a phone call in the same room, you will likely need to turn the fan speed down.
Second, maintenance is required. If you live in an area with hard water, minerals will eventually build up on the honeycomb pads. You will need to periodically drain the tank and descale the pads to keep the cooler working efficiently. It isn’t a difficult process, but it is an extra chore you don’t have with an AC.
The Verdict
The Kenstar TALL BOY 105 Litre BLDC Desert Cooler is a practical and effective appliance, provided you use it in the right environment. It will not replace an air conditioner in a sealed room, and it won’t drop the room temperature to 18°C.
However, if you have a large, well-ventilated space, like a living room, a spacious bedroom with open windows, or a covered patio, it performs very well. The 4.7-foot height ensures the air reaches you where you are sitting, and the 105-liter tank minimizes the need for constant refilling.
At ₹15,990 ($168), the initial cost is reasonable, and the 145W BLDC motor helps keep ongoing electricity costs down. It is a sensible, energy-efficient alternative for managing the summer heat, especially if you need an appliance that can run on a home inverter during power outages.

Samsung has quietly increased prices for a bunch of its budget and mid-range Galaxy phones in India, and this is not the first time this year. The latest revision, which took effect in early May 2026, marks the sixth price hike so far in 2026.
This time, the increase hits models across the M and F series, including the Galaxy F06, F36, F70e, M06, M17e, M17, and M36. Based on updated listings on Samsung’s official website, most variants have gone up by a flat ₹1,000.
The change was first pointed out by tipster Abhishek Yadav on X, who shared what looks like internal communication sent to retailers.
For the more affordable models like the Galaxy F06 and M06, prices now start at ₹12,499 for the 4GB/64GB variant, going up to ₹15,999 for the 6GB/128GB version. For context, the 4GB/128GB version of the Galaxy F06 was priced at ₹9,999 at launch and now stands at ₹13,999.
The F36 and M36 series now sit between ₹21,999 and ₹27,999 depending on the configuration. Mid-tier options like the F70e and M17e have also seen a similar ₹1,000 bump across variants, while the Galaxy M17 lineup now starts at ₹16,999 and goes up to ₹20,999.
Samsung has not officially explained the reason behind the repeated increases, but the broader industry trend gives some context. Component prices, especially memory and storage, have been climbing due to demand from AI infrastructure and data centers, and that shift seems to be trickling down to consumer devices.
What stands out is how frequent these adjustments have been. Samsung has been revising prices almost every month this year, and while ₹1,000 might not sound like much to some buyers, it starts to add up over multiple hikes.
Seasonal sales on platforms like Amazon and Flipkart could offset some of the increase, depending on discounts and exchange offers. So the actual street price may still look reasonable in some cases. Still, if this trend continues, these phones are slowly drifting away from their original “budget” positioning.
Previous reports suggested that OpenAI was exploring hardware such as AI-focused earbuds and possibly a phone developed with partners like MediaTek and Qualcomm. Now, analyst Ming-Chi Kuo has shared deeper insights into a dedicated AI agent smartphone, including timelines, specifications, and the broader strategy behind it.

According to Kuo, OpenAI may accelerate development of its first smartphone, targeting mass production as early as the first half of 2027. MediaTek is currently the leading candidate to supply the processor, which is expected to be a customised chip based on the MediaTek Dimensity 9600 and manufactured using TSMC’s N2P process in the second half of 2026.
The hardware is said to focus heavily on AI-driven tasks, with a dual NPU architecture designed for layered computing. Memory and storage could also see upgrades with LPDDR6 RAM and UFS 5.0, aiming to reduce bottlenecks when handling continuous AI workloads. For imaging, an enhanced ISP is expected to improve high dynamic range output, which could help the device better interpret real-world environments visually.
Kuo suggests that the device may rethink how users interact with smartphones. Instead of relying on multiple apps, the focus could shift to AI agents that handle tasks directly based on user intent. This approach may require deep integration between hardware and software, allowing OpenAI to control the entire experience without platform-level restrictions seen on existing ecosystems.
The phone is also expected to continuously process user context, which includes behaviour and usage patterns, making on-device efficiency critical. Simpler tasks could be handled locally, while more demanding processes may be executed through cloud-based AI systems.
Security features such as pKVM and inline hashing are also expected to be part of the system design. If development stays on track, shipments could reach around 30 million units across 2027 and 2028 combined.

Casio recently added two new digital watches to its US lineup: the AE1600HX-1BV and the AE1600HX-3AV. Both models are priced at $45.95. If they look familiar, it is because they were already listed on Casio’s international and European websites last month, but they are now officially available for US buyers.
Design Details
The main difference between these new “HX” models and the standard AE-1600H series is the strap length. Standard Casio resin bands usually fit wrist sizes up to 215mm. These new models come with an extra-long rally-style strap that accommodates wrists from 145mm up to 235mm.
It is a practical change for people who usually find standard watch bands too tight. The longer band is also useful if you need to wear the watch over a jacket or long sleeves while working or spending time outdoors. The strap uses a double-hole design, which helps keep the watch secure on the wrist.
As for the design, both watches have a large resin case measuring 54.1 by 49.7mm, and they are 15.9mm thick. Despite the bulky size, they only weigh 55 grams. The AE1600HX-1BV is the black model. It uses a negative LCD, meaning the screen background is dark while the numbers are light, and has small light blue text on the case.
The AE1600HX-3AV comes in a dark olive color with a standard LCD screen and lime yellow text. Both versions have a large button on the front of the case that turns on an amber LED backlight, making it easy to check the time in the dark.
Internally, these watches offer the standard set of features you would expect from an affordable Casio. They are powered by a CR2032 coin battery that is rated to last for about 10 years.
