Arsenal prepare bid for 20-G/A Liverpool target after impressive World Cup display

20 June 2026 at 17:00

Arsenal are interested in signing PSG winger Bradley Barcola during the summer transfer window.

According to a report from The Independent, they are preparing an offer to sign the 23-year-old French international. The player is currently away on International duty with France, and the move might have to wait until the end of the World Cup.

Barcola struggled to get regular opportunities at PSG last season, and he needs to leave to play more often.

Arsenal could use Bradley Barcola

On the other hand, Mikel Arteta is determined to improve his attacking unit. Arsenal are looking at multiple attacking players this summer, including Julian Alvarez and Morgan Rogers as well. It will be interesting to see if Arsenal can get the deal done.

They will face competition from Liverpool for Barcola. The 23-year-old French attacker could be an excellent long-term acquisition for both clubs. He will add pace, flair, and goals to the team.

Despite not playing regularly, he registered 20 goal contributions for PSG last season. He scored a delightful goal for France against Senegal in the World Cup. There is no doubt that he has the technical attributes for Premier League football, and the opportunity to move to England will be exciting for him as well.

He will look to play regularly and compete at a high-level. Arsenal and Liverpool can provide him with that platform. It remains to be seen whether PSG is prepared to sanction his departure.

Where will Barcola end up?

The 23-year-old is still quite young, and he will only improve with regular opportunities. He could develop into a star for Arsenal or Liverpool.

Liverpool needs more quality on the flanks, especially after the departure of Mohamed Salah. Cody Gakpo has also been linked with an exit.

From Spain: Arsenal could sacrifice summer signing in blockbuster transfer twist

20 June 2026 at 14:30

Arsenal have been linked with the move for Julian Alvarez in recent months.

They are hoping to sign the 26-year-old Atletico Madrid striker, and El Chiringuito have now claimed that they already have an agreement in place with the La Liga club. Apparently, Atletico Madrid will receive €50 million along with Viktor Gyokeres as part of the deal.

It remains to be seen how the situation develops.

Arsenal need Julian Alvarez

There is no doubt that Arsenal need more quality in the attacking unit, and Alvarez would be an exceptional acquisition. He is a world-class striker who has consistently shown his quality with Atletico Madrid. He has previously impressed in the Premier League with Manchester City.

Alvarez is a key player for club and country, and he could transform Arsenal’s attack. They need someone who can find the back of the net regularly and create opportunities for his teammates. The 26-year-old could be the ideal forward for Arsenal. He scored 20 goals and picked up nine assists last season.

Want more CaughtOffside coverage? Add us as a preferred source on Google to your favourites list for news you can trust.

Alvarez could be an upgrade on Gyokeres

Gyokeres joined Arsenal last summer, and he has scored 21 goals in all competitions. However, his overall football ability leaves a lot to be desired. His link-up and technical ability are quite mediocre, and Alwar would certainly be a huge upgrade.

If they can sign the player for €50 million, along with the Swedish international, it could prove a wise move for Arsenal. It will be interesting to see if they can wrap up the move quickly. The player is currently away on World Cup duty with Argentina, and it is assumed that any move will have to wait until the tournament ends.

Arsenal will look to defend their Premier League crown next season, and signings like Alvarez could take them to another level. Alvarez has also been linked with PSG and Barcelona.

Arsenal receive boost as £100m stance for Arteta’s dream target suddenly changes

20 June 2026 at 13:30

Morgan Rogers has been linked with a move away from Aston Villa during the summer transfer window.

Arsenal are interested in signing the 23-year-old England international, and there were reports that he could cost over £100 million. However, recent reports from Sky Sports (h/t Standard) claim that Aston Villa are prepared to be more reasonable with their demands. They could sell the player for a fee close to £80 million.

The development will come as a boost for Arsenal, and it remains to be seen whether they can get the deal done. Mikel Arteta is reportedly a huge admirer of the playmaker, and Rogers would be a dream signing for him. Arsenal certainly have the financial resources to afford £80 million, and it remains to be seen whether they can get the deal done.

They need more creativity and goals in the midfield, and the 23-year-old could be the ideal investment for them. He can operate in the attacking midfield role as well as on the flanks. He will help open up opportunities for his teammates and score goals. Rogers scored 14 goals and picked up 12 assists last season.

The opportunity to play for the Premier League champions could be exciting for the England international as well. He has consistently shown his quality with the West Midlands club, and he has helped them in the UEFA Europa League. This is the right time for him to take the next step and join a club where he can win the league title and the UEFA Champions League.

Meanwhile, Manchester United and Chelsea are monitoring his situation. Rogers has the ability to improve most teams in the country, and whoever signs him will have a future star on their hands.

Sources: Arsenal prepare ambitious €80m bid as left-winger search takes centre stage

20 June 2026 at 10:09

Arsenal’s summer search for a new left winger is gathering pace, with Bradley Barcola emerging as one of the club’s most exciting attacking targets.

Arsenal are among the Premier League clubs tracking the Paris Saint-Germain forward, who could be allowed to leave if his valuation is met, sources close to the agents industry have informed CaughtOffside.

That makes this a huge opportunity for Mikel Arteta, especially as the Gunners look to add more pace, variety and directness in wide areas.

Arsenal already have quality in attack, but they need another elite-level winger who can push Gabriel Martinelli, ease the pressure on Bukayo Saka and give Arteta a different option in big matches. Barcola fits that profile perfectly.

Arsenal hold strong interest in the PSG winger

The French international is only 23, but he already has Champions League experience, Ligue 1 pedigree and senior international status.

Transfermarkt lists his market value at €70m and confirms his PSG contract runs until 2028.

His numbers also show why Arsenal are watching closely. FotMob records 11 goals and one assist in Ligue 1 during the 2025/26 campaign.

Those are solid figures for a player who has not always been a guaranteed starter.

The frustration over his role is the key part of the story. Barcola was disappointed at being left out of PSG’s Champions League final starting XI.

His camp remains in contract talks with PSG but his disappointment over major-game minutes is real.

PSG valuation creates major test

Arsenal are preparing a bid worth around €80m, but PSG’s valuation is believed to be above €100m.

That gap could make negotiations difficult, especially with Liverpool, Manchester City, Manchester United, Chelsea, Bayern Munich, Barcelona and other European clubs all monitoring the situation.

Still, Arsenal’s interest feels serious. This is not just a luxury signing. Barcola would bring explosiveness, long-term upside and genuine Champions League quality.

Arsenal appear ready to test PSG’s resolve. If the French club open the door, this could become one of the Gunners’ biggest transfer statements of the summer.

Major boost for Arteta as Arsenal left-wing target could now become available for £80m

20 June 2026 at 08:02

Arsenal are stepping up their search for a new left winger, with Aston Villa star Morgan Rogers emerging as one of their main targets this summer.

According to Sky Sports, Arsenal are increasing their interest in the England international as Mikel Arteta looks to add more power, pace and unpredictability to his attack.

The Gunners want another wide forward who can compete immediately, especially with several attacking players facing uncertain futures at the Emirates.

Villa’s qualification for the Champions League is not expected to completely close the door on a sale.

Sky Sports reports that the Midlands club would still listen to offers in the region of £80m, despite Rogers signing a long-term contract until 2031.

Competition could complicate deal

Arsenal are not alone in the race. Chelsea and Manchester United are also interested, which means Villa can afford to stay firm on price.

Want more CaughtOffside coverage? Add us as a preferred source on Google to your favourites list for news you can trust

For Arsenal, that creates a difficult question: do they spend heavily on a Premier League-proven attacker, or look for better value elsewhere?

Rogers would be a strong signing. He can play from the left, operate centrally, carry the ball through pressure and give Arsenal a different type of attacking threat.

But £80m is a serious investment, especially when the club are also working on other areas of the squad.

Cheaper option also being explored

Independently of the Rogers situation, Arsenal have also looked into a move for Club Brugge winger Christos Tzolis.

Yahoo Sports reports that the Greece international could be available for around €40m, roughly £34m.

That makes him a very different kind of option. Tzolis would be cheaper, slightly less proven in the Premier League, but still productive and full of confidence after an excellent spell in Belgium.

Arsenal’s left-wing plan looks flexible. Rogers is the ambitious statement signing, while Tzolis could be the smarter value play.

The decision may come down to how much Arteta wants proven Premier League quality.

Tottenham weighing risky €80m gamble despite fan concerns

19 June 2026 at 19:15

Arsenal and Tottenham Hotspur are looking to sign Mason Greenwood from Marseille during the summer transfer window, as per L’Equipe.

The 24-year-old has worked with Roberto De Zerbi during their time together at the French club, and he could prove to be a very useful acquisition for the north London club. However, it remains to be seen how the Tottenham fans react to the situation.

Mason Greenwood move could spark fan protests

When Roberto De Zerbi was confirmed as the club’s manager, the Tottenham supporters’ group released a statement criticising the Italian manager’s public backing of Greenwood despite being charged with attempted rape, controlling and coercive behaviour and assault during his time at Manchester United.

Greenwood has been outstanding for the French club, and he is valued at €80 million. It remains to be seen whether Tottenham is prepared to pay that kind of money for the player. He can operate on the flank as well as centrally. There is no doubt that he could solve Tottenham’s goal-scoring problem. However, the signing might not go down well with the fans.

Arsenal linked with Greenwood as well

On the other hand, Arsenal are monitoring his situation as well. They need to add more goals to the team, and a 24-year-old would be a handy option. He can operate in multiple attacking positions, and he will add some much-needed sharpness in the final third. Greenwood scored 26 goals last season and picked up 11 assists.

It remains to be seen whether Arsenal or Tottenham decide to follow up on their interest with an official proposal. The French outfit is under pressure to sell players in order to comply with FFP rules. The England attacker is currently the most prized asset at the French club, and therefore the club is ready to sanction his departure for a premium. It remains to be seen how the situation develops.

Alonso could give Chelsea edge over Arsenal & Man United in €50m transfer race

19 June 2026 at 17:30

Alvaro Carreras has been linked with a move away from Real Madrid during the summer transfer window.

The 23-year-old is a target for Chelsea, Arsenal and Manchester United. However, Chelsea could have an advantage over the other two clubs in the race for the defender.

Carreras has worked with Xabi Alonso, and the newly appointed Chelsea manager could play a key role in any potential move. According to Sports Boom, Real Madrid wants around €50 million for the defender. It remains to be seen whether Chelsea is prepared to break the Bank for him.

They have sanctioned Marc Cucurella’s departure to Real Madrid, and they need to replace him properly. The 23-year-old defender could be a solid long-term investment. He played 28 league matches for Real Madrid last season and recorded five goal contributions. There is no doubt he has the quality to play in the Premier League. He will look to help defensively and create opportunities going forward.

On the other hand, Arsenal are keeping tabs on the player. They are already well-stocked in the defensive unit, and it would be quite surprising if they decided to invest in the 23-year-old. They should look to sign a quality midfielder and a couple of quality attackers instead.

Finally, Manchester United’s interest in the defender is hardly a surprise. They need a long-term alternative to Luke Shaw, and the 23-year-old Spanish defender could be ideal for them. He is young enough to improve further, and he’s already competing at a high level.

The asking price could be a problem for the Premier League club, and it remains to be seen whether they can convince Real Madrid to be more reasonable with their demands.

With Cucurella joining the club, Carreras could be tempted to move on. He will be hoping to play regularly, and sitting on the bench at Real Madrid will not be a part of the plan.

Tottenham eye blockbuster deal for £120m star but he would prefer Arsenal

19 June 2026 at 16:40

Tottenham Hotspur are interested in signing Newcastle United midfielder Sandro Tonali during the summer transfer window.

According to a report from SportsBoom, Newcastle will demand around £100 million for the Italian International. The asking price could be a huge problem for any club hoping to sign the player.

The 26-year-old has been outstanding in the Premier League, and he could be the ideal acquisition for them. They need someone who can protect the defensive unit and win the ball back for them in the middle of the park. The Italian is calm and composed with the ball at his feet as well.

The report claims that Arsenal are also interested in the Newcastle star, and that he would prefer to join them rather than Tottenham.

Tonali has immense respect for Tottenham manager Roberto De Zerbi, and they have already discussed the possibility of working together. However, the Newcastle star is still leaning towards a move to Arsenal. It will be interesting to see if Arsenal come forward with an offer to him. They could use more defensive cover in the midfield, and the Italian could be an outstanding addition.

It is no surprise that he is interested in joining the Gunners. They won the Premier League title last season and reached the final of the UEFA Champions League. Tonali is at the peak of his career, and he will look to compete at the highest level and fight for major trophies. Arsenal is certainly better placed to provide him with that platform.

Tottenham have finished 17th in the league table in the last two seasons. They will need to do a lot of convincing if they want to bring in top-quality players like Tonali this summer.

Deal close: Wonderkid one step away from Arsenal move after agreeing terms

19 June 2026 at 14:24

Arsenal are reportedly one step away from signing Leicester City wonderkid Jeremy Monga, with confidence growing that a deal can be completed.

According to journalist Nicolo Schira, the 16-year-old winger has already agreed personal terms with Arsenal and wants to make the move to North London.

All parties involved are believed to be optimistic that the transfer can be finalised.

That is a major statement from Arsenal, not because this is a signing for the starting XI immediately, but because it shows how aggressively the club are trying to secure elite young talent before rivals can move.

Monga, born in 2009, is regarded as one of the brightest prospects in English football and has already played senior football for Leicester.

Arsenal have been scouting Monga for some time

Monga is a left-sided attacker with pace, close control and confidence in one-v-one situations.

Reports from The Sun claim Arsenal have been locked in talks with Leicester over a deal that could be worth around £10m.

For a 16-year-old, that is a serious fee, but Arsenal clearly believe his ceiling is high enough to justify the gamble.

Arteta wants to invest in top future talent

This is exactly the kind of recruitment Arsenal have been trying to build under Mikel Arteta and sporting director Andrea Berta.

The club already have Bukayo Saka, Ethan Nwaneri and Max Dowman as examples of how young talent can be developed in the right environment.

Monga would not need to be rushed. He could grow through the academy, train with senior players and gradually earn opportunities if he adapts quickly.

Arsenal appear close to landing one of Leicester’s most exciting young players.

It may not be the biggest transfer of the summer, but it could become one of the smartest.

The season will conclude on Sunday, 30 May 2027, with all matches taking place at the same time, in line with tradition.

Compared to the previous season, the league will begin a week later. This adjustment has been made to ease pressure on players amid an increasingly packed international football schedule. The season’s closing fixtures will take place one week before the UEFA Champions League final, which is set for Saturday, 5 June 2027.

Arsenal interested in PSG winger Barcola but Gunners can only sign on one condition

19 June 2026 at 09:21

Arsenal’s interest in Bradley Barcola is becoming one of the more intriguing stories of the summer, but the deal may depend on how well the club handle player sales over the coming weeks.

According to Sky Sports, Arsenal are among the Premier League clubs tracking the Paris Saint-Germain winger, who could be allowed to leave if his valuation is met.

DOWNLOAD THE OFFICIAL CAUGHTOFFSIDE APP FOR ALL THE LATEST & BREAKING UPDATES – STRAIGHT TO YOUR PHONE! ON APPLE & GOOGLE PLAY

The same report claims PSG would ideally prefer to keep him, but the situation is complicated by the player’s disappointment at not starting the Champions League final.

For Arsenal, the attraction is obvious. Mikel Arteta wants a wide forward who can raise the level of his attack, add pace, and offer serious competition on the left side.

Barcola fits that profile perfectly. He is quick, direct, technically clean and still only 23.

Arsenal need sales before signing Barcola

The problem is money. Arsenal may need to sell players before they can realistically complete a deal for Barcola.

That makes sense because PSG will not let one of Europe’s most exciting young forwards leave cheaply.

Want more CaughtOffside coverage? Add us as a preferred source on Google to your favourites list for news you can trust

Barcola still has two years left on his contract, and Sky Sports noted that he scored 13 goals and provided seven assists for PSG last season.

Those numbers, combined with his age and international profile, make him an expensive target.

A bold move with real risk

Arsenal have already shown they are willing to be ruthless this summer.

Players such as Gabriel Jesus, Fabio Vieira and others have been linked with possible exits as the club looks to refresh the squad and create room for new signings.

This is exactly the type of deal Arsenal should explore but only if the sales make financial sense.

Barcola would add explosiveness and unpredictability, two things Arsenal sometimes lack when teams defend deep.

The situation is clear, Arsenal want a top-level winger, Barcola is high on the list, but player departures may decide whether this ambitious PSG raid becomes realistic.

Watch: Arsenal and Man United target steals the show with outrageous volley and two-goal masterclass

19 June 2026 at 01:31

Reported Arsenal transfer target Johan Manzambi stole the show for Switzerland last night, firing a sensational late brace to help his country secure a commanding 4-1 victory against Bosnia and Herzegovina.

The 20-year-old midfielder completely turned the match on its head after being introduced from the substitutes’ bench, solidifying his reputation as one of Europe’s most electric young prospects.

Johan Manzambi scores late brace to help Switzerland to a 4-1 win

The Group B World Cup clash at SoFi Stadium seemed destined for a tense finish until Manzambi’s introduction in the second half.

The SC Freiburg starlet broke the deadlocked match in the 74th minute, producing an outstanding, technically flawless volley that flew into the back of the net to give the Swiss a 1-0 lead.

After Ruben Vargas doubled the advantage in the 85th minute, Manzambi wasn’t done. In the 90th minute, he capped off a fluid team move orchestrated by Granit Xhaka, opening his body up to calmly steer a side-footed finish past Bosnia goalkeeper Nikola Vasilj.

Although Bosnia grabbed a late consolation goal via a thunderbolt from Enis Mahmic, a stoppage-time penalty from Xhaka put the final gloss on a stellar 4-1 win, moving Switzerland to the top of the group.

Arsenal linked in contest to sign Manzambi

Manzambi’s international heroics come amid swirling rumors regarding his future, with Arsenal heavily linked with a move for the versatile midfielder.

Previous reports have stated that the Gunners have emerged as ‘serious contenders’ to sign the Swiss international, who was recently named the UEFA Europa League Young Player of the Season after guiding Freiburg to the final.

Mikel Arteta is known to be in the market for a dynamic, energetic box-to-box midfielder to bolster his engine room.

Manzambi’s rare combination of raw pace, defensive industry, and clinical execution in the final third has made him a player in demand this summer, with reports also linking the likes of Real Madrid, Chelsea and Manchester United with the player.

With his stock rapidly rising on the grandest stage of the World Cup, Arsenal may have to act quickly before a multi-club bidding war drives his price tag through the roof.

Bid made and Arsenal expected to agree transfer of versatile attacker

18 June 2026 at 22:41

Arsenal have reportedly made an initial bid for Leicester City wonderkid Jeremy Monga, which has been rejected.

However, the Gunners and the Foxes are still widely expected to reach an agreement on an eventual fee, according to a report from the Telegraph.

DOWNLOAD THE OFFICIAL CAUGHTOFFSIDE APP FOR ALL THE LATEST & BREAKING UPDATES – STRAIGHT TO YOUR PHONE! ON APPLE & GOOGLE PLAY

Monga is highly regarded and has interest from other clubs, but the Telegraph claim that Arsenal is his preference, and the north London giants already seem to be planning for the 16-year-old’s pre-season.

Arsenal have supposedly decided to recruit more young players this summer, with the view of developing players who could see a significant rise in value.

Jeremy Monga likely to get his big transfer to Arsenal

Monga looks like he has a big career ahead of him, and a move to the Emirates Stadium should be a good step up for his career.

There’s surely no doubt that Monga is too good to continue playing for Leicester, who are in a bit of a crisis after suffering back-to-back relegations in the last two seasons in the Premier League and the Championship.

Want more CaughtOffside coverage? Add us as a preferred source on Google to your favourites list for news you can trust

That means Leicester will be in League One next season, so it seems probable that Monga won’t be their only sale.

Arsenal fans will hope this means their pursuit will continue in a positive direction, even if there’s perhaps been an initial setback.

It’s worth noting, however, that rejected bids may just be part of the normal negotiation process, rather than a flat-out message that Leicester are not selling, which seems unlikely.

The Telegraph’s report does not mention how much AFC have offered or how much they would have to up their offer to convince Leicester to sell, but perhaps these details will emerge shortly.

Sources: Newcastle have already held talks over Victor Munoz transfer alternatives, including Arsenal duo

18 June 2026 at 15:07

Newcastle United have been exploring alternatives to the Victor Munoz transfer as Liverpool are now understood to have won the race for the Osasuna winger.

Although our sources have confirmed the Magpies entered into advanced talks over signing Munoz, there was also some hesitation about meeting the 22-year-old’s release clause, while Liverpool were happy to pay it and moved quickly to do so.

Newcastle have had other options in mind for some time, with Leandro Trossard, Gabriel Martinelli, and Cody Gakpo all understood to have been discussed.

As reported recently, Tottenham are interested in Gakpo and could make a move, but Newcastle have also been hovering, and the Munoz blow could lead to them accelerating their interest.

Newcastle ask about Arsenal duo

Some sources have also suggested to me that conversations have already happened between Newcastle and Arsenal as they look for information on the availability of Trossard and Martinelli.

I’m told that NUFC were directly informed that Trossard is in advanced talks over joining Besiktas, as we reported last week, so that deal currently looks unlikely.

Martinelli is also available, however, so Newcastle have been keen to gather information on how much the Brazilian could cost.

Want more CaughtOffside coverage? Add us as a preferred source on Google to your favourites list for news you can trust

“Newcastle have been exploring other options, they weren’t putting all their eggs into the Munoz basket,” one source explained.

“They’ve asked Arsenal about Trossard and Martinelli. They also like Cody Gakpo, but the current feeling seems to be that Martinelli could be cheaper.

“Nothing’s advanced yet, and Newcastle won’t rush this. They weren’t entirely convinced about meeting Munoz’s release clause, and they’re prepared to wait to find a deal they’re fully convinced strengthens their squad whilst still representing good value for money.”

Nick Woltemade’s Newcastle future in doubt

Newcastle’s interest in a winger comes after Anthony Gordon’s exit, but Nick Woltemade could be on his way out of St James’ Park too.

As I reported earlier today, Woltemade has interest from Borussia Dortmund, Atletico Madrid, and Aston Villa.

The Germany international has struggled to settle under Eddie Howe and the club would be prepared to sanction his sale after just one season.

Even if that doesn’t happen, Newcastle’s plan is to make changes up front again this summer after Woltemade and Yoane Wissa failed to adequately replace Alexander Isak after his move to Liverpool.

Arsenal and Man United learn latest Newcastle United stance on Sandro Tonali

18 June 2026 at 13:13

Arsenal and Manchester United may both admire Newcastle United midfielder Sandro Tonali, but any summer move now looks extremely difficult after the Magpies reportedly placed a massive €120m price tag on him.

According to journalist Nicolo Schira, Newcastle are asking €120m to sell the Italy international.

That valuation sends a clear message to interested clubs: Tonali is not being pushed out, and anyone serious about signing him will need to pay elite-level money.

DOWNLOAD THE OFFICIAL CAUGHTOFFSIDE APP FOR ALL THE LATEST & BREAKING UPDATES – STRAIGHT TO YOUR PHONE! ON APPLE & GOOGLE PLAY

For Arsenal, the attraction is obvious. Mikel Arteta’s side have been looking to add more authority and control in midfield, and Tonali would bring exactly that.

He has Premier League experience, Champions League pedigree, defensive discipline and the passing range needed to play in a title-chasing side.

The reason why Man United want Sandro Tonali

Man United’s interest also makes sense, even if the price makes the deal complicated.

United have spent much of the summer looking for midfield upgrades, and Tonali would represent a major statement signing.

He is aggressive, technically clean and comfortable playing under pressure, qualities United have lacked too often in big matches.

Reports from ESPN have previously linked Arsenal, Man United and Manchester City with the Newcastle star.

However, recent reports from The Sun suggest United may be cautious because of the huge fee and wage demands.

Arsenal face a mountain to climb in Tonali pursuit

Newcastle are in a strong position. Tonali remains one of their most important players, and his contract situation gives the club no reason to sell cheaply.

Sky Sports reported earlier this year that his deal runs until 2029, with an option for a further year.

That means Arsenal and United face a simple but difficult question: is he worth breaking the bank for?

For Arsenal, he could be the final piece in a title-winning midfield. For United, he could become the leader of a new era.

But at €120m, Newcastle have made sure this will not be a simple transfer battle.

Bid prepared: Arsenal doing final work before launching attacker transfer offer

18 June 2026 at 12:57

Arsenal are reportedly looking into some final details before making a bid for Paris Saint-Germain winger Bradley Barcola.

The France international, who scored for his country as they beat Senegal in their opening group game at the 2026 World Cup, has long looked like one of the most exciting young attacking players in Europe.

According to the Independent, the Gunners are now stepping up their interest in Barcola, though the report also mentions that Liverpool may still also be looking into his situation.

Still, it sounds like a bid from Arsenal could come soon as they look to raid their Champions League final opponents PSG for this top attacking player who contributed 13 goals and five assists in all competitions in the 2025/26 season.

What’s been reported about Bradley Barcola and Arsenal?

It sounds like the Barcola Arsenal transfer saga is hotting up, and here’s a round-up of some of the other key details that have emerged in recent weeks…

In other words, it’s hard to know precisely where this saga is heading, but the general direction at the moment seems to be that Arsenal’s interest is intensifying.

This makes sense as the Gunners surely need an upgrade on inconsistent duo Leandro Trossard and Gabriel Martinelli on that left-hand side.

At the same time, it’s perhaps not yet at a particularly concrete or advanced stage, meaning other clubs could surely still get involved.

We’ll do our best to discuss this story with our sources and bring you exclusive updates as we get them, as well as reporting on what other leading journalists and outlets are saying throughout the summer.

Arsenal could launch £100m bid as Arteta seeks game-changing summer addition

18 June 2026 at 12:05

Arsenal are reportedly preparing to step up their interest in Aston Villa star Morgan Rogers as Mikel Arteta looks to add another powerful attacking midfielder to his squad this summer.

According to a source on X, Arteta has taken a strong personal interest in the 23-year-old and believes he could develop into one of the best midfielders in world football.

That is a huge statement, but it also explains why Arsenal are taking the situation so seriously.

Rogers has grown rapidly at Villa Park, becoming one of the Premier League’s most exciting young attacking players.

His ability to drive through midfield, carry the ball under pressure and affect games in the final third makes him exactly the sort of profile Arsenal have lacked at times.

Villa’s huge price tag creates problem

The difficulty, of course, is the price. Aston Villa are expected to demand close to £100m before even considering a sale.

That valuation reflects both his talent and his contract situation. The Premier League confirmed in 2024 that Rogers signed a long-term deal with Villa until 2030, giving Unai Emery’s side a very strong negotiating position.

Rogers is open to leaving Villa this summer, which could give Arsenal encouragement.

Still, Villa will not want to lose such an important player unless the financial package is impossible to ignore.

Why Arsenal are targeting a move for Rogers

From Arsenal’s point of view, this would be more than just another attacking signing.

Rogers can play as a No.10, wide forward or advanced midfielder, giving Arteta tactical flexibility across a long season.

The Gunners already have technical quality, but Rogers would add power, directness and unpredictability.

He is the type of player who can break defensive lines without needing perfect passing patterns around him.

Arsenal are expected to hold internal talks over when to make their first move.

The deal will be expensive, but if Arteta truly believes he can unlock another level in Rogers, this could become one of Arsenal’s biggest transfer plays of the summer.

Arsenal star provides injury update after appearing to limp off in England’s win vs Croatia

18 June 2026 at 09:51

Declan Rice has insisted he only went off as a precaution in England’s 4-2 win over Croatia in their opening World Cup 2026 group game.

Arsenal and England fans will no doubt have been concerned to see the midfielder appearing to limp off when he was subbed by Thomas Tuchel with 20 minutes to go.

World Cup news has only really been positive for England so far, with the team avoiding injuries to key players and gelling really well in an impressive victory against a tough opponent in Croatia last night.

And it seems Rice’s injury is not a major concern either, with the 27-year-old insisting he’s fine and he’ll be back for the next game against Ghana.

Declan Rice calms injury fears after England beat Croatia

Speaking after the game, as quoted by the Metro, Rice sounded upbeat and explained that he only went off as a precaution due to carrying a minor niggle for some time.

Want more CaughtOffside coverage? Add us as a preferred source on Google to your favourites list for news you can trust

“All good, good as gold,” Rice said to ITV.

“Just what I’ve been nursing probably in the second half of the season, little neural pains here and there, but I’m all good.

“All fine, just precaution and I’ll be back out there against Ghana.”

Declan Rice delivers again with assist and solid display

Rice is Mr Reliable for club and country, and WhoScored had him down as one of England’s top performers in last night’s win, with a 7.6/10 rating.

The Gunners midfielder always plays with great energy, doing his defensive work whilst also driving the team forward with his range of passing and ball-carrying ability.

On top of that, he picked up an assist with one of his trademark corner kick deliveries, which Harry Kane headed in.

Needless to say, Rice is not a player England would want to be without for long, so it was probably sensible from Tuchel to remove him early just to be on the safe side.

Tottenham ‘actively in talks’ for £100m midfielder as journalist drops exciting update

18 June 2026 at 03:42

Sandro Tonali remains a high-profile summer target this summer with plenty of interest from Premier League clubs including Arsenal, Manchester City, and Tottenham.

The Italian midfielder’s future at St James’ Park has become one of the defining narratives of the transfer window, as rival heavyweights prepare to battle for his coveted signature.

Ben Jacobs shares update on Sandro Tonali

Respected transfer journalist Ben Jacobs took to X to shed light on the developing situation on Tyneside, confirming that Eddie Howe’s side are bracing themselves for a highly competitive bidding war.

According to Jacobs, Tottenham and Manchester City are both actively in talks with the player’s camp.

New Spurs boss Roberto De Zerbi has reportedly identified his compatriot a top target to rebuild the North London club’s midfield.

Meanwhile, Manchester City view Tonali as an ideal elite midfielder to add supreme tactical depth to their engine room.

They aren’t the only ones keeping a watchful eye on the situation. Arsenal enquired in January and are still assessing midfield options for this summer, meaning a late swoop from Mikel Arteta’s side cannot be entirely ruled out as they look to finalise their roster structure.

Jacobs shared the following update:

“Newcastle braced for bids for Sandro Tonali and expecting multiple suitors. Spurs and Manchester City both in talks.

“Arsenal enquired in January and are still assessing midfield options for this summer. A return to Italy very unlikely due to cost, even though Tonali wants to play in Serie A again one day. Newcastle looking for around £100m including add-ons.”

Newcastle set staggering £100m price tag

While Tonali is reportedly open to exploring these ambitious projects, any prospective buyer will have to shatter their transfer records to secure him.

Newcastle are holding an incredibly firm negotiating position, looking for around £100m including add-ons to let their midfield maestro depart.

A return to Italy is very unlikely due to cost, even though Tonali wants to play in Serie A again one day.

Sandro Tonali’s Newcastle statistics show why clubs are interested

Tonali has been a key player for Newcastle since signing from AC Milan. Serving as the functional engine of Newcastle’s tactical setup, his consistency across multiple fronts has been exemplary.

He has made 110 appearances for the club across all competitions, scoring 10 and assisting another 10.

Boasting a passing accuracy of 84.4% and executing 71 accurate long balls this past season, he ranks among the upper tier of European deep-lying playmakers.

Whichever club wins the race to sign him, would no doubt be significantly bolstering their midfield.

Agent meetings confirmed by Fabrizio Romano in positive transfer update for Arsenal & Liverpool

Fabrizio Romano has confirmed Arsenal and Liverpool’s contacts over the potential transfer of Lille midfield wonderkid Ayyoub Bouaddi.

The Morocco international impressed in Ligue 1 in the season just gone and has also attracted a lot of hype after his performance for Morocco against Brazil at the start of this summer’s World Cup.

Bouaddi looks like a player with a huge future, and our understanding is that Arsenal chief Andrea Berta has had positive talks with the youngster’s camp.

It remains to be seen, however, if Bouaddi will definitely choose Arsenal, with Romano writing in his column for Time2Play that Liverpool have also had contacts…

— Fabrizio Romano (@FabrizioRomano) June 17, 2026

On Bouaddi, Romano said: “Paris Saint-Germain have had him on their list for months, though midfield isn’t their priority this summer. Arsenal and Liverpool, meanwhile, have already met with his agents multiple times since January.

“Expect twists and late entries because this kid is the real deal.”

Ayyoub Bouaddi transfer boost for Premier League giants?

It sounds like there is some good news in there for Arsenal and Liverpool as PSG don’t seem to be making a midfielder like Bouaddi their priority for this summer.

Arsenal and Liverpool will hope this can give them the edge, but for now our understanding remains it’s the Gunners who’ve done the most work on this deal, even if there’s no full agreement just yet.

The 18-year-old could have his pick of elite clubs, though, after showing such immense potential in his relatively short career so far.

It’s already easy to imagine Bouaddi fitting in well at Arsenal, giving Mikel Arteta more depth and the option to rest the likes of Declan Rice and Martin Zubimendi more often.

Bellingham or Rogers? How England could line up for World Cup 2026 opener vs Croatia

The big team news questions mainly surround Jude Bellingham or Morgan Rogers for the attacking midfield role, while Thomas Tuchel also has decisions to make in central defence, and wide on the left.

While we think there’s a serious case for Tuchel to go for form over names by picking Aston Villa star Rogers over Real Madrid Galactico Bellingham, it’s perhaps hard to imagine the Three Lions boss taking a big gamble like that for the toughest opponent in the group.

Likewise, we suspect Tuchel will also opt for experience at the back, with John Stones over Ezri Konsa alongside Marc Guehi in central defence.

England predicted line up to take on Croatia

See below for prediction for how England could line up against Croatia this evening…

England look strong with this line up, but there’s always the possibility that Bukayo Saka’s fitness could be a problem, perhaps meaning a starting spot for Noni Madueke.

Saka has been a world class performer for Arsenal and England down the years, but he has had a few more fitness problems after playing so many games in recent times.

On the other flank, Anthony Gordon has done well after recently becoming more of a key player for England, but Marcus Rashford also goes into this tournament in fine form after a strong loan spell at Barcelona.

The Manchester United outcast is another player who might also be worth choosing for his experience, but we expect Gordon is slightly ahead in the pecking order right now due to his direct style, pace, and work-rate.

The likes of Harry Kane and Declan Rice are surely certain to start whatever happens, but it will be interesting to see if they play the full 90 minutes in the blistering heat that has been touted as a bit of an issue in the US.

What do you make of the possible England line up and are you confident about the game? Let us know your thoughts in the comments!

Spanish journalist claims “done deal with Arsenal” for big-name strikers to swap places

Arsenal have reportedly agreed a swap deal with Atletico Madrid which will see Julian Alvarez and Viktor Gyokeres move in either direction.

The Gunners are one of the clubs to have been linked with Alvarez in recent times, along with Barcelona, but journalist Jota Jordi has now provided a major update to El Chiringuito.

See the video clip below as the Spanish journalist claims that Barca asked again about Alvarez, only to be told that the Argentina international is not for sale and that an agreement is in place for a swap deal for Gyokeres

It remains to be seen how accurate this is for a number of reasons, but Arsenal fans will no doubt be interested to see this story gaining momentum.

Swap deals are pretty rare in football, despite there often being many transfer rumours about them being discussed or offered, so we wouldn’t exactly bank on this just yet.

How likely is a Julian Alvarez and Viktor Gyokeres swap deal?

While it’s always important to respect different journalists and their sources, we also feel a duty to inform our readers that this is probably a story that is unlikely to go anywhere.

As already noted, swap deals are rare, and it’s hard to imagine Arsenal would be prepared to offload Gyokeres after just one season in which he actually finished with more goals than Alvarez, and contributed to their Premier League title win.

That’s not to say the Sweden international’s time at the Emirates Stadium has been perfect, but it’s surely enough to earn him a bit more time.

Targeting Alvarez still makes sense to give Arsenal more options up front, so that could still be something worth watching out for.

However, the idea that a huge swap like this would already be agreed just doesn’t seem plausible, especially when there’s been no indication of top tier journalists like David Ornstein or Fabrizio Romano reporting anything similar.

El Chiringuito’s journalists obviously have genuine connections and break a lot of major stories, but there’s a general consensus that they also sensationalise things a bit for their audience, and that some of their exclusives should be taken with a pinch of salt.

What Premier League giants need Morgan Rogers to do to get a £100m transfer underway

Arsenal want Morgan Rogers and are waiting for the Aston Villa attacker to start to push for a move himself.

If you enjoy CaughtOffside coverage and want to see more of it, add us as a preferred source on Google to make us a favourite and see more of our content.

Arsenal have very patiently built up a very good squad, and after a season where they won the league and reached the Champions League final, it seems they’re willing to let loose a little bit.

A report from TeamTalk says that the Gunners are really focused on Morgan Rogers of Aston Villa, and there is a “growing belief” that the England attacker will “make clear his strong preference to join the Gunners this summer.”

They speculate that such a deal could “set a new club record” as it would cost them more than £100m.

Arsenal need Rogers to open door to transfer

There is no doubt that, despite an impressive season, the Gunners need more creativity and more consistency in attack. Their race to the title would have been a lot easier had they scored some more goals.

Rogers will be expensive – but Arsenal can afford to buy from the top shelf now. All eyes are on the player, who will need to start agitating post-World Cup if he wants a move.

In other news…

Luka Vuskovic is a name which is going to become very familiar to a lot of people this summer as a number of Premier League teams try to sign him.

The first big deal of the summer is yet to come – but some teams fear a huge move for the likes of Elliot Anderson moving could reset the summer market.

Sources: Arsenal chief Berta pursuing transfer “strongly” as deal looks “positive”

17 June 2026 at 13:58

The Ayyoub Bouaddi transfer story is emerging as one of the hottest potential deals of the summer, with Lille’s stance and the player’s own preferences making the race for his signature increasingly complex.

Bouaddi has already caught the eye at the World Cup 2026 as he ran the show from midfield for Morocco in their impressive 1-1 draw against Brazil in their opening group game.

Since then, speculation linking the teenager with Arsenal has increased, and I’ve received some information that might be of interest.

DOWNLOAD THE OFFICIAL CAUGHTOFFSIDE APP FOR ALL THE LATEST & BREAKING UPDATES – STRAIGHT TO YOUR PHONE! ON APPLE & GOOGLE PLAY

Arsenal have indeed held initial talks with those close to Bouaddi, with Andrea Berta moving some time ago to try to position the Gunners as early favourites for this deal.

Ayyoub Bouaddi transfer suitors

Bouaddi is, however, also a target for Chelsea, as reported before, and sources have also mentioned Liverpool, Manchester United, and, as has been widely reported elsewhere, Paris Saint-Germain.

Lille are understood to be open to a sale and have long expected that they could lose the 18-year-old this summer, with strong performances at the World Cup giving them an opportunity to raise their asking price.

Sources with ties to the agents industry tell me that Lille could be looking for around £70-80m, but that may not be settled just yet as formal club-to-club negotiations have not started at the time of writing.

There’s also some truth to the widely-reported claim that Lille are keen to avoid selling Bouaddi to Ligue 1 rivals PSG, but sources close to the French champions insist that won’t put them off pursuing the deal for such a highly-rated talent, who is seen as a perfect stylistic fit for Luis Enrique’s project.

Want more CaughtOffside coverage? Add us as a preferred source on Google to your favourites list for news you can trust

How Arsenal are approaching Ayyoub Bouaddi deal

Berta has done a lot of work on this potential deal for Arsenal, but it’s also a big part of his strategy to reach an agreement on personal terms with a number of targets before deciding on proceeding with club-to-club contacts.

I’m reliably told that, for now, Arsenal do not yet have a full agreement on personal terms with Bouaddi, even if there’s the sense that initial talks have been positive.

Arsenal have been pursuing the Bouaddi deal strongly,” one source said. “No agreement on personal terms yet, but Berta and his team are feeling positive. I’d expect Bouaddi to be the top target, but work has also been done on Manu Kone, Sandro Tonali, and others.”

So, although the links with Arsenal are strongest at the moment, I wouldn’t rule out the likes of Chelsea and PSG just yet, as Bouaddi is going to continue to be seen as hot property on the market.

AFC will also keep other options open, so this might not be the speediest deal, as we’ll have to see how things progress with other targets as well.

Chelsea sound out Premier League winger as transfer interest gets serious

17 June 2026 at 13:16

Chelsea have reportedly got a serious interest in Everton winger Iliman Ndiaye as they have sounded him out as a summer transfer target.

The Blues have also been targeting Aston Villa star Morgan Rogers, but it looks like a deal is unlikely for now due to Arsenal being in a stronger position.

DOWNLOAD THE OFFICIAL CAUGHTOFFSIDE APP FOR ALL THE LATEST & BREAKING UPDATES – STRAIGHT TO YOUR PHONE! ON APPLE & GOOGLE PLAY

This, according to Simon Phillips, has led Chelsea to look at Ndiaye as another option to strengthen their attack.

The Senegal international impressed in the Premier League in the season just gone, contributing six goals and three assists.

Admittedly, those numbers aren’t exactly outstanding, but those who’ve watched him play will also know that the stats don’t tell the whole story.

Iliman Ndiaye would add quality and experience for Chelsea

Ndiaye is a technically gifted player with real elegance and flair, while he’s also a lot more experienced and proven in the Premier League than the players Chelsea have often signed under this ownership.

The 26-year-old could be a welcome change from some of the Blues’ recent signings, who have so often been quite underwhelming and unable to cope with the pressure of playing for such a big club at such a young age.

Want more CaughtOffside coverage? Add us as a preferred source on Google to your favourites list for news you can trust

Ndiaye looks ready to make the step up after impressing at Everton, and there’s every chance he could improve on his goal and assist numbers if he were able to slot into an attack-minded team with quality around him.

Chelsea will hope that will be the kind of platform they can provide players under new manager Xabi Alonso next season.

Signings will also be key, however, to helping Alonso become a success at Stamford Bridge, with the Spanish tactician showing what he’s capable of during his time as Bayer Leverkusen manager, though he struggled with the rather more chaotic situation at Real Madrid in the first half of last season.

Arsenal handed major boost as sought-after €50m star says yes to transfer

16 June 2026 at 22:50

Arsenal are interested in signing Manu Kone from AS Roma.

The Frenchman has done quite well for the Italian club, and Kone could prove to be an excellent addition for Arsenal. They need more quality in the middle of the park, and the 25-year-old international could be an upgrade on Christian Norgaard.

Arsenal agree terms with Manu Kone

As per reports via GOAL, Kone has already agreed personal terms with the Premier League champions, but the asking price could be a problem. Roma will demand €50 million for the midfielder. It remains to be seen whether Arsenal is prepared to pay.

There is no doubt they have the financial resources to get the deal done, but the asking price is quite high, and they also need to improve other areas of the squad.

The Premier League champions will look to dominate English football in the coming season and hope to win the UEFA Champions League as well. They need to add more quality in the final third. Signing a reliable striker and adding more quality on the flanks will be a priority for them this summer. A central midfielder would help them improve further, but spending €50 million on Kone seems unlikely.

It remains to be seen how the situation develops. Roma will have to be reasonable with their demands this summer.

Kone wants the move

Meanwhile, the player is clearly keen on the move and has already agreed personal terms with the London club. It will be interesting to see if he decides to force a move in the coming weeks.

Joining a club like Arsenal would be a major step up for him, allowing him to compete at the highest level and fight for major trophies. He is at the peak of his career, and this is the right time for him to move to the Premier League.

Arsenal interested in untouchable Real Madrid target with €80m release clause

16 June 2026 at 21:40

Arsenal are interested in signing the Spanish defender Ivan Fresneda from Sporting CP.

The 21-year-old has established himself as a key player for the Portuguese club, and he is considered an untouchable asset. According to a report from A Bola, they are unwilling to sanction his departure at any price.

Arsenal might need to pay a premium for Ivan Fresneda

He has a €80 million release clause in his contract, and they are under no pressure to sanction his departure. Any interested party will have to pay a premium to get the deal done. It will be interesting to see if Arsenal is ready to trigger his exit clause this summer.

Ben White is expected to leave the London club in the summer, and the club is looking at a potential replacement. The 21-year-old Spanish defender could be a solid long-term acquisition, and he could compete with Jurrie Timber for the starting spot.

However, spending €80 million on a defender who might not start for them regularly seems unlikely. The Portuguese outfit will have to be very reasonable in their demands for the move to go through.

Real Madrid also eyeing Fresneda

On the other hand, Real Madrid are monitoring his situation, and it remains to be seen whether they decide to make a move for the player. They need a quality long-term replacement for Dani Carvajal. Fresneda certainly has the qualities to thrive in La Liga, and he has shown his ability in Spain with Real Valladolid.

Fresneda will look to join a club where he can play regularly. Sitting on the bench at Arsenal will not be an attractive option for him.

On the other hand, returning to his homeland with one of the biggest clubs in the world will be an exciting proposition. It remains to be seen whether Real Madrid is prepared to submit an offer for him.

Journo confirms Man United and Arsenal midfield target open to shock move to Tottenham

16 June 2026 at 13:14

Tottenham have reportedly entered the race for Newcastle United midfielder Sandro Tonali, in what would be one of the boldest moves of the summer window.

According to journalist Matteo Moretto, Spurs are showing serious interest in the Italy international, with Roberto De Zerbi pushing for the club to explore a deal.

The Tottenham boss is believed to see Tonali as a player who could become central to his new project in north London.

DOWNLOAD THE OFFICIAL CAUGHTOFFSIDE APP FOR ALL THE LATEST & BREAKING UPDATES – STRAIGHT TO YOUR PHONE! ON APPLE & GOOGLE PLAY

That is what makes this story so interesting. Tottenham are not simply looking for another midfield option.

They want a leader, someone capable of setting the tempo, controlling matches and giving De Zerbi’s team a stronger identity.

Tottenham want to make a statement signing

De Zerbi has already made it clear that he is committed to Tottenham’s rebuild, with TNT Sports reporting earlier this year that he planned to stay at the club “no matter what.”

Now, Spurs appear ready to back him with an ambitious transfer push.

Want more CaughtOffside coverage? Add us as a preferred source on Google to your favourites list for news you can trust

Tonali would fit the idea perfectly. He brings intensity, passing range, defensive work rate and Premier League experience.

He is also someone De Zerbi knows well from Italian football circles, which may explain why Tottenham are so keen.

Man City and Man United interest makes race difficult

The challenge is obvious: Tottenham are not alone. Manchester City have also been linked with Tonali, while Manchester United have previously explored the situation.

Reports from ESPN have already claimed several Premier League giants have monitored the Newcastle star, including Arsenal.

Newcastle, meanwhile, are unlikely to make any sale easy. The Sun reports that Tonali remains a key player and would command a huge fee.

Still, Tottenham’s interest sends a clear message. If De Zerbi wants the keys to his new project handed to a proven elite midfielder, Spurs may be ready to test Newcastle’s resolve.

Insider confirms £280k per week Arsenal star is being targeted by his ex-club

16 June 2026 at 11:47

Kai Havertz has reportedly emerged as a name on Bayer Leverkusen’s radar, but any potential return to Germany would be far from simple.

According to sources on X, Leverkusen are monitoring the Arsenal forward’s situation as they consider ways to strengthen their attack. It is easy to understand the appeal.

DOWNLOAD THE OFFICIAL CAUGHTOFFSIDE APP FOR ALL THE LATEST & BREAKING UPDATES – STRAIGHT TO YOUR PHONE! ON APPLE & GOOGLE PLAY

Havertz knows the club extremely well, having developed into one of Europe’s brightest young talents during his first spell there before leaving for Chelsea in 2020.

Arsenal signed Havertz from Chelsea in 2023. Since then, he has played an important role under Mikel Arteta because of his versatility, pressing and ability to operate as a false nine, attacking midfielder or advanced forward.

Salary makes the deal complicated

The biggest issue is money. Havertz is one of Arsenal’s highest earners, with Capology listing his salary at around £280,000 per week.

For Leverkusen, matching that figure would be extremely difficult.

That means a move would likely require one of two things: either Havertz accepts a significant pay cut, or Arsenal agree some form of financial compromise.

A contract termination with a payoff has been suggested, but that would be a complicated route and not something Arsenal would consider lightly.

From the player’s perspective, giving up that level of salary would be a major decision.

Footballers want sporting clarity, but financial security also matters, especially when a long-term contract is already in place.

Arsenal must decide what comes next

There is no clear indication that Arsenal are actively pushing Havertz out. In fact, he has still shown his value in big moments.

Still, if Leverkusen’s interest becomes serious, Arsenal may have a decision to make.

Havertz remains useful, but his wages are huge. Unless the financial package works for all sides, this feels more like a difficult transfer idea than a straightforward return.

Ideally, Mikel Arteta would want to keep Havertz at the club due to his versatilitya but stranger things have happened in the past and a move back to the Bundesliga cannot be ruled out.

Man United gain transfer edge on midfielder as Arsenal and Real Madrid step back

16 June 2026 at 09:41

Manchester United appear to have gained a major advantage in the race for West Ham United midfielder Mateus Fernandes, with Real Madrid and Arsenal now reportedly expecting the Red Devils to complete the deal.

According to The Sun, both Madrid and Arsenal are starting to look at alternative targets because they believe United are in the strongest position to land the 21-year-old Portugal international.

That is a significant development, especially given how much competition there has been around the midfielder in recent weeks.

West Ham are still demanding around £80m, but United are hoping to negotiate that figure down after the Hammers’ relegation from the Premier League.

That could be the key factor in the deal. West Ham may not want to lose one of their best young players, but their financial situation and Championship status could make a big sale difficult to ignore.

Why Fernandes fits the rebuild at Man United

For Man United, Fernandes looks like exactly the type of midfielder they have been trying to add.

He is young, technically secure, energetic and already has Premier League experience.

Want more CaughtOffside coverage? Add us as a preferred source on Google to your favourites list for news you can trust

United have needed more control and mobility in midfield for some time, and Fernandes could offer both.

The move would also fit with United’s wider rebuild. The club have already agreed a deal for Atalanta midfielder Éderson, with Sky Sports reporting the fee at £34m plus add-ons.

Adding Fernandes alongside him would give United a very different midfield look going into next season.

Arsenal and Madrid turning elsewhere

Arsenal’s decision to look elsewhere makes sense. Mikel Arteta already has several midfield options and may prefer a different profile or better-value deal.

Real Madrid, meanwhile, are still assessing what type of midfielder they want, with other names also being discussed.

Elliot Anderson’s expected move to Manchester City has also changed the market.

The Guardian reported that City have already made huge bids for the Nottingham Forest midfielder, making him an unrealistic option for United.

For now, Fernandes feels like United’s clearest route to a major midfield upgrade. The price remains high, but the path looks more open than before.

Romano confirms Tottenham have entered race to sign top Arsenal target as they plot surprise hijack

16 June 2026 at 03:05

Tottenham are plotting an audacious move to sign Newcastle United star Sandro Tonali this summer.

Following a turbulent campaign where Spurs narrowly secured Premier League survival on the final day, the club’s hierarchy is determined to back head coach Roberto De Zerbi with a significant squad overhaul.

Having already secured high-profile signings of former Liverpool left-back Andy Robertson and Bournemouth’s Marcos Senesi, the Lilywhites have now set their sights on the highly-coveted Italian midfielder to spearhead their new era.

Tottenham enter race for Sandro Tonali

According to a sensational exclusive update from transfer expert Fabrizio Romano on X, Tottenham have officially joined the high-stakes battle for Tonali’s signature.

De Zerbi reportedly views the former AC Milan dynamo as the absolute “star” needed to transform his midfield layout and immediately elevate the technical and physical levels at the club.

However, Romano added that securing the Italian international will be a massive challenge. Spurs are ready to go toe-to-toe with Premier League heavyweights Arsenal and Manchester City, both of whom have already established strong interest.

The Italian journalist posted the following update on X:

“EXCLUSIVE: Tottenham have entered the race to sign Sandro Tonali! De Zerbi wants Tonali as new star for the midfield, ideal to step up #THFC level. Spurs ready to face Man City and Arsenal in the race for Tonali for new ambitious project to prove their intentions.”

While Manchester United reportedly are concerned out of negotiations due to Newcastle’s £100 million valuation, Tottenham’s decision to enter the race signals an ambitious statement of intent under De Zerbi’s management.

Can Spurs hijack Arsenal deal?

The unexpected inclusion of Tottenham has thrown a massive wrench into Arsenal’s transfer plans.

Mikel Arteta’s side had already initiated contact with people close to Tonali, viewing him as the ideal box-to-box midfielder to complement Declan Rice.

Whether Spurs can successfully hijack the deal from the Gunners comes down to guaranteed game time and project alignment.

Unlike Arsenal, where Tonali would face stiff rotational competition from established stars, Tottenham can offer the midfielder a guaranteed focal role at the heart of De Zerbi’s tactical rebuild.

Newcastle’s failure to qualify for European football has left them vulnerable to top-tier bids, and if Tottenham can match the hefty financial package required, De Zerbi could well pull off one of the most stunning transfer hijacks of the summer window.

Premier League teams fear Anderson deal could blow up summer midfielder market

15 June 2026 at 18:45

Elliot Anderson is one of England’s most in demand players, and his move could have serious ripple effects.

If you enjoy CaughtOffside coverage and want to see more of it, add us as a preferred source on Google to make us a favourite and see more of our content.

Matt Law of the Daily Telegraph is today reporting that Premier League teams are worried that Elliot Anderson’s impending move from Nottingham Forest to Manchester City for more than £100m is going to inflate prices in this window, particularly for central midfielders.

Crop of English midfield stars could blow market open

Any Premier League team who wants to sign a central midfielder – and that likely includes Chelsea, Arsenal and Man U – would therefore like to get a deal done before Anderson’s incoming mega-fee resets the market.

The likes of Adam Wharton and Alex Scott are being heavily linked with moves in the months to come, and the fees commanded by Crystal Palace and Bournemouth are likely to rise significantly if Anderson makes his big money move as expected later this summer.

As it stands, Chelsea’s signings of Moises Caicedo and Enzo Fernandez for more than £100m each are the benchmarks for elite players with top level experience moving at a young age. When it finally happens, Anderson’s move is expected to match that – and potentially even beat it.

In other news…

PSG and Arsenal are the two teams most strongly linked with breakout star of the World Cup, Ayyoud Bouaddi. They will have to break records to sign him, however.

Ismael Saibari is closing in on a move to join Bayern Munich, with a medical set to take place in the USA in the coming days.

PSG and Arsenal will have to break Romeo Lavia record to sign rising star of World Cup

15 June 2026 at 18:15

Lille are set to demand a record fee for their teenage central midfielder, with Arsenal and PSG the most likely to pay it as it stands.

If you enjoy CaughtOffside coverage and want to see more of it, add us as a preferred source on Google to make us a favourite and see more of our content.

The World Cup always brings big moves and plenty of rumours, and before even the first round of games has been completed one of the breakout stars of the tournament already looks to have emerged.

Morocco’s hugely impressive 1-1 draw against Brazil was the most high profile match of the competition so far, and the star of the show was sensational teenage midfielder Ayyoub Bouaddi.

He ran the show against the Selecao, and it’s no surprise that transfer interest in the Lille starlet has ramped up since.

Teenage talent fee could smash records

TeamTalk are reporting that Arsenal and PSG are the front runners to sign him, but it won’t come cheap.

A £60m fee would be the highest ever for a teenage central midfielder, breaking the record set by Chelsea’s disastrous signing of Romeo Lavia.

Given Bouaddi’s age and potential, it would still seem like a pretty good deal. If he keeps playing well at the World Cup and Morocco go far in the tournament, the number could climb even higher.

In other news…

Ismael Saibari is closing in on a move to join Bayern Munich, with a medical set to take place in the USA in the coming days.

Chelsea are going to make a number of signings this summer – but Alex Scott won’t be one of them if you listen to quotes from sources close to the club.

Sources rule out Chelsea from chasing top midfielder wanted by Man U and Arsenal

15 June 2026 at 16:07

Chelsea are being linked with a number of targets this summer – but sources have ruled them out of the chase for one Premier League star.

If you enjoy CaughtOffside coverage and want to see more of it, add us as a preferred source on Google to make us a favourite and see more of our content.

The World Cup is underway, and the attention of the football world is focused there, but in the background transfers are starting to happen too.

Chelsea are expected to be busy, following the appointment of Xabi Alonso as manager. They have already sold Marc Cucurella to Real Madrid, but moves the other way are coming too as the club prepare to try and battle back into the Champions League.

Chelsea ruled out of chase for rising Premier League star

A name being mentioned in connection with the Blues as well as a number of other Premier League sides is Alex Scott of Bournemouth.

An all action number 8, his energy was a huge part of Andoni Iraola’s successful side. But Bobby Vincent’s piece for Football.London looking at the Blues’ plans for the summer makes it clear that he’s not on the list:

“Alex Scott’s name was mentioned online towards the back end of last season but sources close to the club dismissed the links with the highly-rated Bournemouth midfielder,” Vincent wrote.

With Chelsea out of the running, teams like Spurs, Man United and Arsenal should all have a clearer run at the rising star. It’s not clear what Chelsea’s plans are if Scott is not on the cards. They need a reliable midfielder, and that’s especially true if Enzo Fernandez leaves the club, a move which looks likely at this point.

Just in: Arsenal push for £50m wonderkid deal after World Cup breakout display

15 June 2026 at 14:18

Arsenal have reportedly opened preliminary talks to sign Lille midfielder Ayyoub Bouaddi, with the Gunners hoping to secure a deal worth around £50m plus add-ons.

According to Football Insider, Arsenal have started early discussions for the 18-year-old, although Lille are believed to be holding out for closer to £60m.

The French club know his value is rising quickly, especially after his outstanding performance for Morocco against Brazil at the 2026 World Cup.

That display may have changed the mood around the deal. Bouaddi looked calm, powerful and mature beyond his years, helping Morocco earn a 1-1 draw against one of the tournament favourites.

Reuters praised his composure, while The Guardian highlighted his control in midfield against elite opposition.

Why Arsenal are moving early for Bouaddi

For Arsenal, this looks like a classic long-term recruitment play.

Mikel Arteta already has Declan Rice, Martin Zubimendi and Mikel Merino, but Bouaddi offers something different.

Want more CaughtOffside coverage? Add us as a preferred source on Google to your favourites list for news you can trust

He is younger, more explosive and already shows the confidence to receive the ball under pressure.

The Gunners have reportedly monitored him for some time, but his World Cup performance could force them to act faster.

Once a teenager shines on that stage, the price usually goes up and the competition becomes much stronger.

Player remains focused despite transfer noise

Bouaddi has not hidden from the speculation, but he is keeping his focus on Morocco. Speaking to The Athletic’s David Ornstein, he said:

“I’m really happy to know that some clubs are interested in me but for now I’m only focused on the WC and we will try to give everything to do our best.”

That is the right message from a young player in the middle of a major tournament.

For Arsenal, the opportunity is clear. If they can agree a deal before more clubs fully enter the race, this could become one of the smartest midfield signings of the summer.

Arsenal and Man City face £100m battle to sign player on Man United radar

15 June 2026 at 14:02

Arsenal and Manchester City are both interested in signing Newcastle United midfielder Sandro Tonali this summer, with the Magpies reportedly demanding around £100m before considering a sale.

According to journalist Nicolo Schira, both clubs are watching the Italy international closely.

Newcastle’s stance, however, is firm. They do not want to lose one of their most important midfielders unless a huge offer arrives.

DOWNLOAD THE OFFICIAL CAUGHTOFFSIDE APP FOR ALL THE LATEST & BREAKING UPDATES – STRAIGHT TO YOUR PHONE! ON APPLE & GOOGLE PLAY

That position is easy to understand. Tonali joined Newcastle from AC Milan in 2023.

He has since become a key part of Newcastle’s midfield, bringing control, energy and big-game experience.

Why Arsenal and City are tempted

For Arsenal, Tonali would be a serious statement signing.

Mikel Arteta already has a strong midfield, but the Italian would add another level of composure, aggression and European pedigree.

Want more CaughtOffside coverage? Add us as a preferred source on Google to your favourites list for news you can trust

He can dictate tempo, recover possession and carry the ball forward, which makes him a natural fit for a team trying to compete on every front.

Man City’s interest also makes sense. With Pep Guardiola’s side always looking for technical security in midfield, Tonali has the style and intelligence to slot into a possession-heavy system.

His ability to play as a deep controller or a more advanced midfielder would give City valuable flexibility.

Newcastle United have a major decision to make

The biggest issue for both clubs is Newcastle’s negotiating position.

Sky Sports reported earlier this year that Tonali’s contract has been extended until 2029, with an option for a further year. That means Newcastle are under no pressure to sell cheaply.

Newcastle remain in a strong position over any potential exit.

For Arsenal and City, the interest is understandable. But unless either club is ready to go close to Newcastle’s £100m demand, this transfer may be very difficult to pull off.

Approach made: Arsenal step up midfielder chase after contacting Frenchman’s agent

15 June 2026 at 11:40

Arsenal have taken the first steps towards a possible summer move for AS Roma midfielder Manu Koné, with the club reportedly asking for information and making initial contact with his agent.

According to Nicolo Schira, the Gunners have made their first approaches as they explore the conditions of a deal.

Reports from RomaPress have also claimed that Arsenal have contacted the player’s entourage, although no formal bid has been submitted yet.

This feels like a smart move from Arsenal. Mikel Arteta already has quality in midfield, but Koné would bring a different type of energy.

He is physical, aggressive, progressive on the ball and comfortable driving through pressure, exactly the kind of profile that can change the rhythm of a game.

Roma’s financial pressure could help Arsenal

Roma are not desperate to lose key players, but their financial situation may force them into difficult decisions.

Chiesa Di Totti reports that the Italian club need to raise funds before the end of June to meet UEFA financial requirements.

That could give Arsenal an opening. Koné is under contract until 2029, so Roma would normally be in a very strong position.

However, if they need money quickly, a bid in the €40m to €50m range could become tempting.

A different option for Mikel Arteta

Arsenal’s midfield already has control, intelligence and structure, but Koné would add more power and vertical running.

Want more CaughtOffside coverage? Add us as a preferred source on Google to your favourites list for news you can trust

Declan Rice gives defensive security, Martin Zubimendi offers calm distribution, and Mikel Merino brings balance. Koné, though, would offer something more direct.

He is not just another technical midfielder. He is a ball-carrier, duel-winner and transition player who could make Arsenal more dangerous in chaotic matches.

For now, this is still at the enquiry stage. But Arsenal have laid the groundwork, and if Roma’s financial situation becomes more urgent, this could quickly turn into one of the Gunners’ most interesting midfield pursuits of the summer.

Premier League attacker targeted by Arsenal & Man United available for more than £50m

15 June 2026 at 10:58

Arsenal, Manchester City and Manchester United are all reportedly keeping tabs on Everton winger Iliman Ndiaye after his impressive Premier League campaign.

According to Daily Mail, the Senegal international has attracted attention from several top clubs, with Everton expected to demand more than £50m before considering a sale.

That stance is understandable. Ndiaye has become one of Everton’s most exciting attacking players, offering flair, energy and versatility across the frontline.

He can play wide, drift inside as a creator, or operate closer to the striker, which makes him attractive to clubs looking for flexible attacking depth.

Arsenal and Man United could be tempted to move

For Arsenal, Ndiaye would offer another direct option in attack.

Mikel Arteta already has quality in wide areas, but the Gunners have often looked for more unpredictability and rotation behind Bukayo Saka, Gabriel Martinelli and Leandro Trossard.

Want more CaughtOffside coverage? Add us as a preferred source on Google to your favourites list for news you can trust

Ndiaye’s ability to beat players and carry the ball in tight spaces could make him an interesting alternative.

Man United’s interest also makes sense. FourFourTwo recently reported that United are considering attacking reinforcements, with Ndiaye among the names on their radar.

The Red Devils need more pace, creativity and reliability in wide positions, especially if more attacking exits happen this summer.

Manchester City, meanwhile, rarely ignore Premier League players with technical quality and tactical flexibility.

Ndiaye may not be their biggest-name target, but he fits the profile of a player who could develop further in a more dominant attacking system.

World Cup performance could raise the price

Everton signed Ndiaye from Marseille in 2024 on a five-year deal. That long contract gives them real control.

With Senegal competing at the World Cup, Everton may also be watching closely. If Ndiaye performs well on the international stage, his value could rise quickly.

Transfermarkt currently values him at around €55m, but Everton may believe a strong tournament justifies an even higher asking price.

For now, Arsenal, City and United are monitoring but Everton are in no mood to sell cheaply.

Arsenal and Manchester United could face a major challenge if they decide to push seriously for Morgan Gibbs-White this summer, with Nottingham Forest determined to keep hold of one of their most important players.

The England playmaker has become one of the most talked-about names of the window after an outstanding 2025/26 campaign.

Sources close to the agents industry informed CaughtOffside that Arsenal, Manchester United, Manchester City, Chelsea and Tottenham have all shown interest, while European clubs are also monitoring the situation.

For Arsenal, the attraction is obvious. Mikel Arteta’s side have been looking for more creativity and goal threat between the lines, and Gibbs-White would offer something different to their current midfield and attacking options.

He is direct, aggressive, technically sharp and comfortable carrying the ball into dangerous areas.

Why Man United are closely watching Gibbs-White

Man United’s interest also makes sense. United need more players who can create chances, press with energy and deliver end product from midfield.

With the club still trying to reshape its attack and midfield, Gibbs-White would fit the profile of a Premier League-proven player ready to make an immediate impact.

Want more CaughtOffside coverage? Add us as a preferred source on Google to your favourites list for news you can trust

The problem for both Arsenal and United is Forest’s stance. After Elliot Anderson’s expected big-money exit, Forest do not want to lose another key player in the same window.

Forest are preparing to stand firm, while Sky Sports has also reported that Arsenal have him on their shortlist.

Nottingham Forest are in a strong position

Gibbs-White’s numbers explain why Forest are being so firm.

FotMob lists him with 15 goals and four assists in the 2025/26 Premier League season, while Transfermarkt values him at around €70m and shows his contract running until 2028.

That means Forest have no reason to sell cheaply. Arsenal and Man United may both admire him, but unless either club is ready to pay a huge fee, this could become one of the toughest attacking-midfield deals of the summer.

Gibbs-White was named April 2026 Player of the Month in the Premier League after four goals and one assist in just three matches.

Arsenal begin talks with Ayyoub Bouaddi

According to an exclusive report from The Times, Arsenal have formally entered into discussions to sign the teenage Morocco sensation.

While Mikel Arteta’s side are yet to make an official, concrete offer to his club, Lille, the Gunners are actively speaking to the representatives of the 18-year-old midfielder.

Bouaddi has rapidly established himself as a primary target for top-tier clubs, looking to inject youth, maturity, and tactical intelligence into their midfield.

Besides PSG, Liverpool, Chelsea and Manchester United are also said to be keen on the youngster.

Arsenal are reportedly confident of beating the competition to the transfer of the Lille midfield wonderkid.

The sudden urgency from Emirates Stadium officials comes directly on the heels of Bouaddi’s magnificent performance at the World Cup.

The underlying data heavily reflects his masterclass performance against the South American giants. Bouaddi completed an astonishing 60 out of 66 attempted passes, maintaining a stellar 91% success rate under intense physical pressure.

Furthermore, he proved to be a defensive shield, aggressively winning 9 out of his 13 contested ground and aerial duels.

His absolute composure on the ball drew rave reviews from legendary football commentator Peter Drury, who was full of praise for the Moroccan prodigy following the final whistle.

In an interview outside the stadium, Drury expressed his sheer disbelief at the player’s maturity, stating: “Amazing, he looks like 28 not 18.”

Arsenal ready to spend €100m on Arteta’s dream summer signing

14 June 2026 at 16:00

Mikel Arteta’s Arsenal want to sign Juventus attacking mainstay Kenan Yildiz, as he seeks an upgrade on the left flank.

Kenan Yildiz is widely regarded as one of the best young wingers in the game, and there is no shortage of interest in the services of the Juventus forward. Arsenal are among the clubs after the Turkish gem, who will be looking to further enhance his reputation with impressive performances at the World Cup.

According to journalist Sacha Tavolieri, Mikel Arteta considers Kenan Yildiz a dream target to reinforce his attack ahead of next season. While they are yet to make a move for him, they do have a plan in place. The Gunners would be willing to spend around €100 million to sign the Juventus winger.

Kenan Yildiz’s rise to the top

While things didn’t quite work out for him at Bayern Munich, the move to Juventus in the summer of 2022 has worked wonders for him. He started with their Under-19 team but was already playing first-team football within a year.

Despite being just 22, he is already one of the leaders of their attack. Yildiz finished the 2025/26 season with 11 goals and 10 assists in his 47 outings. His impressive performances and massive potential have put him on the wish lists of several top clubs.

Want more CaughtOffside coverage? Add us as a preferred source on Google to your favourites list for news you can trust

Juventus will struggle to keep hold of Yildiz

Aware of the increasing interest in his services, Juventus secured his long-term future with a new deal at the start of the year. However, they will still find it difficult to keep hold of him, as top clubs are ready to break the bank for his signature.

Arsenal consider him a dream target for the summer as they look to conquer Europe, after having won the Premier League last season. Mikel Arteta is looking for an upgrade on Gabriel Martinelli and Leandro Trossard on the left, and Yildiz could be the perfect fit. He will help them both in the short and the long run.

They are ready to fork out around €100 million for the 21-year-old, which suggests they are quite serious about their pursuit. While Juvetus will be reluctant to sell, the massive financial offer will certainly make them rethink their stance.

Arsenal and Liverpool handed boost as £60m target seeks fresh start

14 June 2026 at 00:30

Arsenal and Liverpool are interested in signing the PSG attacker Bradley Barcola during the summer transfer window.

According to a report from talkSPORT, the French International attacker has asked to leave PSG due to the lack of playing time. He made just 21 league starts last season, and he wants to play more often at this stage of his career.

Bradley Barcola needs a move

Liverpool and Arsenal will be able to provide him with regular opportunities, and it will be interesting to see if they are prepared to pay up for him. The 23-year-old will cost £60 million, and the two Premier League clubs have the financial muscle to get the deal done.

PSG are unwilling to sanction their departure, but they could let him move if they manage to sign a quality replacement. It will be interesting to see how the situation develops. Barcola scored 13 goals and picked up 7 assists last term.

Barcola would improve both teams

Both Arsenal and Liverpool need more quality on the flanks. Arsenal need a quality long-term alternative to Leandro Trossard, who has been linked with a move away this summer. Signing Barcola could be a wise decision. The 23-year-old has all the tools to develop into a top-class attacker, and regular football at the London club could bring out the best in him. The opportunity to join the Premier League champions will be exciting for the player as well.

On the other hand, Liverpool needs an upgrade on Cody Gakpo. The Netherlands International has been very underwhelming and predictable. They need someone who can create opportunities in the final third, take on defenders, and beat them in one-on-one situations. Barcola will help create opportunities, and he can score goals as well. It will be interesting to see where he ends up.

Arsenal eye blockbuster €100m move as Real Madrid make stance clear on 20-G/A star

14 June 2026 at 00:00

Arda Guler has been heavily linked with a move away from Real Madrid this summer.

Arsenal and PSG are interested in signing the 21-year-old Turkish International, but Real Madrid are uninterested in selling him. According to reports from Spain, Real Madrid would not sell him even if an offer of €100 million is presented.

Guler has also been linked with Chelsea.

Arsenal and PSG eye Arda Guler

Arsenal and PSG would be prepared to offer around €100 million for the Turkish International, and it remains to be seen whether they decide to test the resolve of the Spanish giants with an official bid in the coming weeks.

Arsenal need more creativity in the final third, and the 21-year-old could be an excellent acquisition. He can operate centrally as well as on the flanks. He will help create opportunities, and he can find the back of the net as well.

Guler is a tremendous young talent, and he is expected to become a superstar. Guler will add technical ability and unpredictability to the Arsenal attacking unit. He has six goals and 14 assists to his name this past season.

Guler would improve both teams

The Premier League champions will look to dominate English football in the coming seasons, and they need elite players at their disposal. Guler would be an outstanding long-term investment.

Meanwhile, PSG have won the UEFA Champions League in consecutive seasons and will look to dominate European football for the foreseeable future. Signing one of Europe’s best young talents would be a step in the right direction.

Real Madrid is looking to build a formidable team, and it is no surprise they want to keep the Turkish star.

The player is currently away with his country at the World Cup and will look to impress at the mega event.
