Motorola Moto G100s

Motorola has unveiled the new Moto G100s in China, targeted squarely at budget-conscious buyers. The device features an old mid range Qualcomm Snapdragon chip, a massive flagship level battery, and much more for an attractive price point. So let’s check it out.

New Sub $150 Budget from Motorola Debuts in China

Back in October 2025, Motorola unveiled the Moto G100 in the Chinese market for 1,339 Yuan, which is roughly about 188 US Dollars. But just under a month later, the company has now unveiled the Moto G100s. This newer model brings similar specs and features along with a more affordable price tag. The new G100s also sports a tall 6.72-inch LCD panel with an FHD+ resolution, a 120Hz refresh rate, 1050 nits of peak brightness, DC dimming, and hardware level blue light protection.

Under the hood, the Moto G100s is equipped with the Snapdragon 7s Gen 2 SoC, which is paired with 8GB of RAM and up to 256GB of internal storage. A gigantic 7,000mAh battery pack powers this device, which supports 30W wired fast charging. For optics, the rear has a 50MP main camera along with an 8MP ultra wide angle lens. Meanwhile, the front houses an 8MP shooter for selfies and video calls, which is a notable downgrade from the 32MP selfie camera on the Moto G100.

Other notable features include an IP64 rating for water and dust resistance, NFC, dual speakers, and a side mounted fingerprint scanner. Motorola just unveiled the G100s in two color options, namely Blue and Black. It is available in two storage configurations with a starting price tag of 999 yuan (roughly $140) for the 8GB + 128GB model. The higher end 8GB + 256GB variant costs 1,099 Yuan (roughly $154).

Moto Edge 70 Teardown: Under the Hood of a 6mm Phone

Moto Edge 70

While teardown videos often reveal the different ways a company has put together their smartphone, things get a bit more interesting when breaking down a super slim phone. The Moto Edge 70 is one such model, and a fresh video has offered us a glimpse of its impressive internals.

What the Moto Edge 70 Teardown Video Reveals

Moto Edge 70
Moto Edge 70

The latest teardown was shared by YouTuber Kingmi Mobile. Looking at this video, we get a full view of the internals of the Moto Edge 70. Among the thin components, two aspects stood out in particular. First, the battery of the Edge 70 takes up a large portion of the internal space, but measures just 3.9mm thick. This cell is around 0.4mm thicker than the battery in the iPhone Air and 0.2mm thicker than Samsung’s Galaxy S25 Edge.

Second, you get a super thin display that measures just 1mm, which is half as thick as the iPhone Air’s 2mm display panel. Despite the razon thin dimensions, the screen of the Edge 70 offers a 120Hz refresh rate, 4500 nits of peak brightness, a 1.5K resolution, and Corning’s Gorilla Glass 7i for protection. To recall, the Galaxy S25 Edge is powered by a 3,900mAh cell, while the iPhone Air has around a 3,100mAh battery.

So the Motorola Edge 70 impresses with a much larger 4,800mAh battery pack. The YouTuber also found a small but efficient thermal dissipation system, which keeps the internals, like the Qualcomm Snapdragon 7 Gen 4 cool. The company just recently unveiled the Moto Edge 70 in Europe, while it debuted in China as the Moto X70 Air.

Samsung Galaxy A57 Might Be in the Works: Brand’s Next Mid-Range Phone

By:Sean
3 November 2025 at 14:03

Samsung might be working on the successor to one of its popular mid range smartphones. The Galaxy A57 was recently spotted, hinting at a new A-series model arriving soon. Samsung’s internal firmware has a model number that could be for the Galaxy A57. So here’s everything you need to know.

Galaxy A57 spotted on Samsung’s Test Server

The South Korean tech giant’s next Galaxy A series phone might be the Galaxy A57. This affordable device just surfaced on the brand’s test server, carrying the SM-A57B model number. It was being tested with its first internal build, A576BXXU0AYJ7/A576BOXM0AYJ7/A576BXXU0AYJ7. A screenshot of the database listing was shared by a user on X. In other words, the Galaxy A57 is likely already in active development..

Samsung Galaxy A56

With the Samsung Galaxy A56 already a strong performer in the segment, the Galaxy A57 is its direct successor. Knowing Samsung, we can expect incremental upgrades instead of major overhauls when talking about the cameras, design, and other aspects. Back in August 2025, the Galaxy A57 was spotted on GeekBench, which is a popular benchmarking platform. One of the biggest details that was revealed in the listing was a new Exynos chip with the S5E8865 model number.

This chip in question could be the Exynos 1680 SoC. But unfortunately, the recent tweet did not reveal any finer details of this smartphone. Although, we can expect some features like a tall AMOLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate, around a 5000mAh battery pack, and 45W wired fast charging.

Redmi Turbo 5

Thanks to advancements in battery technology, Chinese smartphone brands have been pushing the limits of battery capacity over the last two years. Now, a latest rumor has revealed that the Redmi Turbo 5 could be one such model that brings days’ worth of power thanks to an absolutely massive battery capacity.

Meet the Redmi Turbo 5: 9000mAh Battery Means Goodbye Battery Woes

While initial rumors had pointed to the Redmi Turbo 5 packing around a 7,500mAh cell, the latest leak from Digital Chat Station hints that the Redmi Turbo 5 could be powered by a massive 9,000mAh battery pack. The previous leak was also from the known tipster on Weibo, so the 9000mAh capacity could be for the higher end model in the Redmi Turb 5 series.

Redmi Turbo 5

Even with the 7500mAh cell, the Redmi Turbo 5 features one of the biggest batteries on any smartphone. Current generation flagships are hitting the 7,000mAh+ mark, but these budget high end devices/affordable gaming phones would likely surpass the premium devices. DCS further added that a smartphone with a 10,000mAh battery is also being tested.

Based on what we know so far, the Redmi Turbo 5 will debut with an IP6 rating for water and dust resistance, house an in-display fingerprint scanner, and a metallic middle frame. Under the hood, the Turbo 5 is expected to be equipped with the Dimensity 8500 Ultra SoC. Alongside the impressive battery pack, the smartphone may offer a 100W wired fast charging support as ell. The Redmi Turbo 5 is expected to launch later this month, while the Turbo 5 Pro could debut in early 2026.

Smart Lights to Upgrade for the Festive Season: Here’s Why You Should Buy Them

By:Sean
31 October 2025 at 22:05
Xiaomi Smart Led Bulb (White and Color)

While one of India’s biggest festivals just went by, the festive season isn’t close to the end. With Christmas and New Year’s coming up, festive décor is still all the rage, and smart lighting has become one of the most effective ways to refresh your home ambience. These appliances are practical, energy-efficient and increasingly integrated with voice assistants or smart home ecosystems. So here’s everything you should know about them.

Smart Lights for Festive Season
Qubo Smart Bulb

What to Look for Before You Buy Smart Lights

In the Indian market, choosing the right smart lights involves more than just picking a brand and colour. First, check for compatibility with your existing voice assistant, like Amazon Alexa or Google Assistant. Seamless integration makes it easy to control lights by voice or schedule. Many Indian smart lighting brands now offer voice control and scheduling features.

You should also look for connectivity options (Wi-Fi vs Bluetooth) and whether the bulb requires a hub. Some brands like Philips Hue expect you to add a bridge, while others are “plug-and-play”. Versatility is another big aspect to consider, like color hues, brightness levels, and app features like scene creation or sync with music make a big difference during celebrations.

Top Smart Light Picks for India

  • Philips Wiz 9 W Wi‑Fi Smart LED Bulb: A strong premium choice, backed by Philips’ brand reliability and app + voice-assistant support. Great for living rooms where quality and ecosystem stability matter.
  • Mi Smart LED Colour Bulb B22: A value brand offering full-colour capability, decent brightness and minimal setup. Ideal if you want an easy upgrade without huge spend.
  • Wipro Garnet 9 W Smart LED Bulb: An India-based brand focussing on affordability and practicality. Good for rooms where you want smart control without premium pricing.
  • Qubo Smart Bulb 12 W E27 LED: A mid-tier option with slightly higher wattage, decent app control and decent colour options. For users who want a step up in brightness.
  • Orismart WiFi 16‑Million Colours LED Bulb: A strong “value colour” choice that is ideal for accent lighting, decorative setups, or places where you want the festive light-effect more than maximum brightness.

How These Fit the Festive Season

During festivals, homes often shift from ordinary lighting to decorative and mood lighting. Smart bulbs give you flexibility, create warm white scenes for dinner, bright white for cleaning/organising, or vibrant colour scenes for celebration. Many apps allow scheduling so lights can auto-dim or shift tones as evening begins. We already covered the Diwali tech essentials a while back, and these options are also great for upcoming festivals like Christmas. The end of the year usually also brings family time and big dinners, which can be further enhanced with the right lighting.

Explaining the Next Xbox: PC-Hybrid Console, AMD Magnus APU, & More

By:Sean
31 October 2025 at 21:19
Xbox series X

Over the last couple of weeks, reports of the next Xbox started circulating online. While Microsoft has failed to compete with Sony’s PlayStation in the console wars, the brand isn’t giving up on consoles yet. Xbox as a platform is evolving, and the next console could be leading this charge as it combines PC gaming, cloud gaming, and other aspects. So here’s everything we know about the next Xbox.

Xbox series X

When it might arrive

Most credible leaks and reporting point to a release window that could be between 2026 and 2027. Microsoft could be planning on launching the next Xbox sometime in 2027 or as early as late 2026. This new console is reportedly in the works at the moment, with rumors hinting at the upcoming Xbox hardware being in late stage development. If this is true, the expected release timeline puts Microsoft on a roughly seven year update cycle, which is in line with the previous generation.

Hardware

Under the hood, the biggest change will likely be a jump to much more powerful custom AMD silicon. Multiple sources point to an upgraded Magnus APU, which pairs Zen 6 CPU cores with RDNA 5 graphics hardware. This powerful combination might allow the next Xbox to hit 4K/120fps performance and advanced ray tracing while also enabling PC level features like AI acceleration and broader driver support.

Rumors even suggest a beefier memory subsystem (wider bus and GDDR7 in some leaks), which would let Microsoft push higher fidelity assets and better frame-rate targets. So simply put, the latest Xbox console would offer a major jump in performance over the Xbox Series X.

It’s more than just one console

Microsoft has been clear with its plans for the Xbox name. The focus isn’t on making new hardware/consoles, but also expanding cloud gaming, the Xbox Game Pass gaming library and its accessibility, and even via strategic collaborations. An example of such a partnership is with ASUS, which recently released the ROG Xbox Ally series of gaming handhelds that launched with special optimizations that made it closest to an actual portable Xbox console.

Soon, these hardware partners might also launch TV units and other Xbox Ally-like consoles, which would help bring “Windows in the living room” vision. It remains to be seen how the next Xbox fits in all of this, but it will likely arrive as a “true” Xbox experience, blending PC gaming level hardware with a TV console experience.

Software & ecosystem changes

Perhaps the most strategic shift is software openness. Microsoft has publicly signaled its next Xbox won’t be locked to a single store. Rather, games could be sold across multiple storefronts, with another focus on backward compatibility with the entire Xbox library.

Combine that with Game Pass, cloud streaming ambitions and tighter Windows integration, and the next Xbox is less a single product and more a distributed gaming ecosystem. For consumers, this could mean more choice about where to buy games and smoother cross-device play, assuming platform partners and publishers cooperate.

What this means for gamers

If the leaks and early statements are accurate, gamers should expect three practical outcomes: first, significantly higher peak performance for native console titles (4K/120 and better ray tracing); second, a broader set of Xbox-branded hardware options so you can pick the device that fits your use case; and third, a more open marketplace that might reduce friction when buying games across devices. However, these upgrades likely come at a cost, with the most immediate being a more premium price tag.
