While Xiaomi has just hit the brakes on HyperOS updates for all smartphones until March, this is only temporary as China celebrates its annual New Year holiday. When Will the Android 17 Update Drop?
Google’s Android 17 stable release is expected around June–July 2026, and Xiaomi should adapt its custom skin with the major OS upgrade. Early beta builds are likely to roll out soon after the official Android launch, with flagship Xiaomi phones and high-end tablets getting first access. Broader rollout to mid-range and budget models could stretch into late 2026 and early 2027, depending on regional testing and certification.
There’s More
According to the XiaomiTime report, some devices that are relatively new still won’t get Android 17 (For example, the Redmi Note 14 5G and POCO M7 Pro 5G). Xiaomi typically launches the first beta update during the Google I/O event, and based on the previous rollout, the Xiaomi 17 series should get the update first, including the upcoming Xiaomi 17T Pro.
Keep in mind that this is still just an unconfirmed report based on Xiaomi’s official policy and software support. So take this list with a pinch of salt and stick around for more.
