“I can tell you” – Journalist confirms Man United have made a strong offer for €50m star in exciting update

6 May 2026 at 02:31

Manchester United are currently leading the race to sign Atalanta’s Ederson, ahead of other top clubs including Arsenal, according to prominent Italian journalist Matteo Moretto.

The 26-year-old Brazilian, who has been a standout performer in Serie A, is increasingly likely to head to Old Trafford this summer.

While Atletico Madrid were previously considered the frontrunners, United’s financial muscle and a lucrative contract offer have shifted the momentum firmly in their favor.

Man United leading the race to sign Ederson

Speaking via Fabrizio Romano’s YouTube channel, Moretto revealed that several Premier League sides have stepped up their interest.

However, the Red Devils have made the most significant move, reportedly offering a salary that surpasses the proposals currently on the table from Spain.

Moretto said: “I can tell you that Manchester United are currently the club that has shown the most interest, offering around €4.5 million net per year.

“Arsenal have also made enquiries, though Ederson is not a priority for them. Right now, United appear to have the strongest financial capacity.”

While a personal agreement seems closer, United still face the task of negotiating a transfer fee with Atalanta.

The Italian side is known to be tough negotiators and is expected to demand a high fee, likely in the region of £39 million (€45-50m), for their midfield engine.

Man United need to bolster the midfield this summer

The pursuit of Ederson comes at a critical time for Manchester United’s midfield.

Following a season of transition under Michael Carrick, the club is preparing for a significant clearing of the decks.

Manuel Ugarte is expected to be sold after failing to cement a regular starting spot, while veteran Casemiro has decided to leave the club at the end of this season, with interest from the MLS.

With Kobbie Mainoo recently signing a new long-term deal until 2031, United have secured a generational talent to build around.

However, the departures mean, United will need to bring in replacements.

To bolster the squad for their return to the Champions League, United are reportedly looking to sign at least two midfielders.

Alan Shearer reveals the one Arsenal tweak behind Viktor Gyokeres’ recent improvement

6 May 2026 at 01:19

Viktor Gyokeres’ overall play as Arsenal’s focal point, both on and off the ball, has seen a marked improvement in recent weeks, and Premier League legend Alan Shearer believes the transformation is down to a specific tactical tweak by Mikel Arteta’s side.

The Swedish powerhouse has not been able to repeat the his outrageous goalscoring numbers from last season and often struggled with the physicality as well, but he has improved as the season went.

Alan Shearer on how Arsenal have improved Viktor Gyokeres

According to Shearer, the secret behind this surge in form lies in the service provided by the Arsenal midfield.

Speaking as a pundit on Amazon Prime during Arsenal’s vital victory in the Champions League semi-final, Shearer noted that the Gunners have finally learned how to maximize their striker’s unique skillset.

Shearer elaborated that early service prevents opposition defenders from doubling up on the Swede, allowing him to use his explosive pace and strength in one-on-one situations.

By eliminating the extra touches in the buildup, Arsenal have turned Gyokeres from a target man into a devastating transitional weapon.

He said (via BBC Sport): “One of the things I think Arsenal have improved on is Gyokeres. They need to play the ball quick and early to him, and it’s something they’ve done more of in the last few weeks.”

Gyokeres has been praised by Wayne Rooney

It isn’t just Shearer who has been impressed by the forward’s development. Former Manchester United captain Wayne Rooney also recently praised him for becoming the focal point that Arsenal missed.

Following his best ever performance in an Arsenal shirt against Fulham, Rooney said the following about Gyokeres:

“I’ve liked Gyokeres all season. I think he does so well for the team. He occupies defenders and I think his goal tally has been good this season. This is when you need him now, during the run-in. This is what you need when you bring a no. 9 into the club. This is when you need them most.”

Watch: Bukayo with a massive goal right at the end of the first half to give Arsenal the lead vs Atletico Madrid

6 May 2026 at 00:02

Bukayo Saka has give Arsenal a massive lead over Athletico Madrid, right at the end of the first half.

Viktor Gyokeres held the ball up brilliantly down the right-hand side before dinking a cross over to Leandro Trossard.

The Belgian appeared to hesitate on the ball, and for a moment, it looked like the opportunity might have vanished against a compact Atlético defence.

However, Trossard managed to fire a low drive toward the bottom corner. While Jan Oblak reacted with a sharp parry, Bukayo Saka was the most alert man in the box, to tap it in on the rebound

It is huge goal from Saka and a massive goal that has put Arsenal just 45 minutes away from a place in the Champions League final.

In a crucial 3-0 victory over Fulham that kept Arsenal six points (now five) clear at the top of the Premier League, Saka played only 45 minutes but still managed to record a goal and an assist.

Tonight, he has translated that domestic dominance to the European stage.

Mo Salah names three players without whom Liverpool “would not have won anything”

5 May 2026 at 22:47

Mohamed Salah has named Gini Wijnaldum, James Milner, and Jordan Henderson as three players who do not get the credit they deserve for their pivotal roles in Liverpool’s trophy-laden success in recent years.

While the “Egyptian King” has been the headline stealer for Liverpool over the years, Salah was quick to point out that the foundation of the club’s Premier League and Champions League triumphs was built on the backs of these selfless engine-room operators.

Reflecting on the era under Jürgen Klopp, the departing Salah emphasised that individual awards often overlook the tactical discipline and leadership provided by the veteran trio.

Mohamed Salah names trio as unsung heroes for Liverpool

During a recent interview with Steven Gerrard on TNT Sport, Salah named Jordan Henderson, Gini Wijnaldum and James Milner as three teammates who deserve more recognition for their role in Liverpool’s success.

Salah said: “I think people don’t know how good Alexander-Arnold is, but I think he gets a lot of credit.

“But I would say Gini Wijnaldum and Millie [Milner] and Hendo [Henderson]. These guys just, without them, we wouldn’t have won anything.”

Wijnaldum’s role in Liverpool’s success

Gini Wijnaldum was a key part of Klopp’s midfield, known for his ability to retain possession under extreme pressure and his tactical flexibility.

His most iconic contribution, two goals in the historic 4-0 comeback against Barcelona, which remains one of the best European nights at Anfield.

Jordan Henderson’s role in Liverpool’s success

As the captain who hoisted every major trophy, Jordan Henderson’s leadership was the heartbeat of the squad.

He captained Liverpool through their most successful era in recent history. Salah has even called for fans to give him a proper sending off that he deserved but couldn’t receive due to his sudden exit last summer.

In the same interview he said:

“I think last game of the season against Brentford, people in the city knows how much it meant to Hendo also, being captain of the club, being here for 12 years – more than me, more than Virg, more than Robbo, more than anyone.

“He didn’t get the send-off that he deserved because he left suddenly. I don’t know how the club is going to manage it.

“I have no plans, and I don’t know how the supporters will also manage it, but I really wish they do something special for him, because he’s been one of the best players in this club.”

James Milner’s role in Liverpool’s success

James Milner, often referred to as the ultimate professional, was the glue that held the dressing room together.

He was one of Klopp’s favourite players, in fact, he is every manager’s dream player.

Whether filling in at left-back or right-back or dominating the midfield, Milner provided a level of experience and fitness that was indispensable.

These three players represent the selfless spirit that defined Liverpool’s return to the pinnacle of world football.

Supercomputer makes bold Tottenham Premier League prediction as season nears its end

5 May 2026 at 22:09

A supercomputer has predicted how the fight for survival will play out in what has been a nightmare season for Tottenham.

After a campaign defined by managerial upheaval and a staggering lack of form, the data suggests that Spurs fans can finally breathe a sigh of relief.

Tottenham predicted to escape relegation

According to the latest simulation from FindSisterSites (via The Sun), Tottenham are tipped to avoid a historic relegation to the Championship by just three points.

The prediction comes following a tumultuous period where the club fell into the bottom three under former boss Igor Tudor, before turning to a familiar face in the Premier League to navigate the crisis.

While the supercomputer predicts Arsenal to clinch the title on goal difference, the drama at the bottom of the table is equally intense.

Tottenham’s predicted survival comes at the direct expense of their London rivals, West Ham.

The model expects the Hammers to join Burnley and Wolves in the second tier next season, unable to keep pace with a rejuvenated Spurs side in the final weeks.

For Tottenham, finishing 17th for second season in a row is disastrous, but in a season where they went months without a league win, survival is the only metric that matters.

Tottenham look completely different under Roberto De Zerbi

The catalyst for this predicted escape has been the arrival of Roberto De Zerbi. Since taking over, he has made an instant impact, injecting strong mentality and fighting spirit in a depleted Spurs side.

Under him, Tottenham finally ended their winless run in 2026 with back to back wins over Wolves and Aston Villa and the supercomputer expects that momentum to carry them through a grueling final run-in.

The Italian has already made fans excited on what’s to come under him and if they survive relegation, Spurs can be a team to watch for next season.

Man City or Arsenal? Crazy supercomputer prediction names Premier League winners in dramatic twist

5 May 2026 at 20:39

A supercomputer has predicted how the Premier League finale will play out, forecasting one of the most dramatic conclusions in the history of English football.

With only weeks remaining in the 2025/26 campaign, the data suggests the title race will be decided not by points, but by the thinnest of margins.

The latest simulation from FindSisterSites (via The Sun) has processed thousands of variables to map out the final standings, and the results point toward a photo finish between the two heavyweights of the modern era: Mikel Arteta’s Arsenal and Pep Guardiola’s Manchester City.

Arsenal predicted to win the Premier League by just one goal

In a scenario that would mirror the legendary 1989 finale, the Gunners are tipped to clinch their second title in three years by a single goal.

According to the supercomputer, both Arsenal and Manchester City are expected to finish the season level on 83 points.

However, the North London side is projected to edge out the Cityzens with a goal difference of +45, compared to City’s +44.

For this nerve-wracking outcome to manifest, the model predicts Arsenal will win two and draw one of their final three fixtures.

Meanwhile, Manchester City are expected to take maximum points from their remaining four matches, including their crucial game in hand.

Such a result would represent the closest title race in Premier League history, eclipsing the famous “Agueroooo” moment of 2012.

Top 5 set with Liverpool and Aston Villa expected to grab final spots

While the title fight takes center stage, the race for elite European football is also reaching its conclusion.

Despite a season of significant ups and downs, Manchester United are backed to secure third place, continuing their impressive form under the Michael Carrick.

The supercomputer expects Liverpool and Aston Villa to round out the top five, claiming the final Champions League spots.

Arne Slot’s side is predicted to do just enough to claim the fourth spot while Unai Emery’s Villa, despite their dip in form are expected secure back-to-back seasons in Europe’s premier competition.

If these predictions hold true, the final day of the season will be less about the points on the board and more about every shot, save, and goal scored across the country.

Report: Euro giants make surprise enquiry for Liverpool manager Arne Slot

5 May 2026 at 20:07

According to Dutch media, Ajax have made an audacious enquiry for under-fire Liverpool manager Arne Slot as the Amsterdam giants continue their search for a permanent head coach.

The startling revelation comes from Mike Verweij of De Telegraaf, who revealed that the Eredivisie club reached out to the 47-year-old tactician despite his current role at Anfield.

However, the approach was reportedly met with a swift and decisive refusal from the Liverpool boss.

Arne Slot turns down enquiry from Ajax

Speaking on the Kick-off podcast, Verweij detailed the exchange, noting that Slot remains committed to his long-term project on Merseyside.

“I was told again that they also informed Arne Slot,” Verweij said (quotes via Soccer News).

“Slot is still very firmly in the saddle; he will continue at Liverpool. I also understood that Arne Slot is not very keen to go to Ajax at this time in his career.”

Liverpool insist to continue with Arne Slot next season despite horrible season

The enquiry from Ajax highlights a paradoxical situation at Anfield.

Liverpool have endured a torrid 2025/26 campaign, recently suffering a 3-2 defeat to Manchester United, a result that marked their 11th league loss of the season and left them 18 points adrift of leaders Arsenal.

Despite breaking a 113-year-old record for home-and-away losses to both Manchester clubs in a single season, the Liverpool hierarchy reportedly remains behind their manager.

Unlike the chaotic managerial revolving door at Ajax, who are searching for their fourth permanent manager in three seasons, FSG appear determined to allow Slot the time to fix the current situation.

While he has lost the support of the fans, winning the Premier League title just 12 months ago seems to have bought him the time to oversee a rebuild next season.

For now, the Dutch giants will have to look elsewhere, with Girona’s Míchel now emerging as the favorite to take the hot seat at the Johan Cruyff Arena.

“You never know” – Manchester United star hints Casemiro could stay at Old Trafford in surprise late twist

5 May 2026 at 01:36

Matheus Cunha has hinted that Casemiro could still make a U-turn and stay at Manchester United next season, despite months of speculation linking the veteran midfielder with a summer exit to the MLS.

The Brazilian forward, who recently helped United secure Champions League qualification with a 3-2 victory over Liverpool, has dropped a significant hint that the former Real Madrid star’s time at Old Trafford might not be over just yet.

While Casemiro has been widely expected to join David Beckham’s Inter Miami at the end of the current campaign, Cunha believes there is still a chance for a final twist.

‘You never know’: Cunha drops Casemiro U-turn hint

Speaking after United’s recent success, Cunha was vocal about the influence his compatriot has on the squad.

“I play with him in the national team and I know how important he is. He’s an amazing guy. And yeah, to have this guy in the dressing room is a privilege,” Cunha stated (quotes via The Mirror).

Addressing the rumors of an impending departure, Cunha added:

“We don’t know in the end how it is with his contract, and then of course we, everyone, hopes there’s a little bit more. Of course, I know it’s harder than we talked about, but yeah, in the end, you never know.”

These comments come at a time when Sir Jim Ratcliffe and the INEOS sporting team are reportedly looking to streamline the wage bill.

However, Cunha’s public plea highlights the value the 34-year-old still brings to a side that has looked rejuvenated in recent months.

Casemiro has become a massive player for Man United under Michael Carrick

A major factor in the potential U-turn is the midfielder’s soaring form under interim boss Michael Carrick.

Since Carrick took the reins in mid-January, Casemiro has looked like a player transformed, forming a brilliant partnership with Kobbie Mainoo, providing defensive stability and crucial goals.

Casemiro has been the heartbeat of United’s late-season surge. And while the player has himself recently stated that his decision to leave is ‘made and done‘, the growing bond between the player, the coaching staff, and the fans, who recently serenaded the Brazilian with chants of ‘one more year’, could perhaps force a reconsideration.

Nottingham Forest fans troll Chelsea with brutal Tottenham chant after going 3-0 up at Stamford Bridge

4 May 2026 at 20:12

The atmosphere at Stamford Bridge turned toxic on Monday night as Nottingham Forest fans took full advantage of Chelsea’s collapse.

The first half saw Forest score twice courtesy of Taiwo Awoniyi and Igor Jesus to take a comfortable lead going into the break.

Chelsea had the chance to reduce to deficit right at the end of the first half with Jesse Derry winning a penalty at a personal cost, Cole Palmer failed to convert it.

And the second half saw Awoniyi seal the win with his second goal of the game, making it 3-0 and sending the visiting supporters into a frenzy.

Nottingham Forest fans mock Chelsea with ‘Tottenham in disguise’ chant

With Forest racing into a commanding 3-0 lead, the travelling supporters were heard chanting “Are you Tottenham in disguise?”, mocking the home crowd during a humiliating night for the Blues.

The chant, picked up by BBC Sport journalist Joe Rindl during live commentary, quickly went viral and underlined the scale of Chelsea’s struggles.

The chant carried extra sting given Chelsea’s long-standing rivalry with Tottenham.

For a club that prides itself on competing at the highest level, comparisons with their North London rivals, especially in such circumstances, only intensified the frustration inside Stamford Bridge.

Forest move six points clear of West Ham

Beyond the banter, the result carries massive implications for the Premier League table.

The 3-1 win moves Nottingham Forest six points clear of West Ham United in the relegation battle with just three games remaining in the season.

Forest supporters could also be heard chanting “we are staying up” as reported by BBC Live.

While mathematically they still need another four points to secure survival, their current form and superior goal difference suggest they will successfully escape relegation.

For Chelsea, the defeat marks a new low in a season characterized by inconsistency and late-season fatigue.

Jesse Derry stretchered off as Cole Palmer misses penalty

The evening’s primary concern remains the welfare of the 18-year-old winger. In what was his first Premier League start, Derry had been a rare bright spark for a struggling Chelsea side.

However, during a stoppage-time aerial duel in the penalty area, Derry suffered a horrific clash of heads with Forest defender Zach Abbott.

The game was halted for over ten minutes as medical staff from both clubs rushed onto the pitch, eventually resulting in Derry being carried off on a stretcher to a standing ovation from a hushed crowd.

The injury incident actually resulted in a lifeline for the Blues, as referee Anthony Taylor pointed to the spot following the collision.

In a moment that summed up Chelsea’s luckless half, Palmer, who has been the club’s most reliable asset since joining from Man City, saw his penalty brilliantly saved by Matz Sels.

The miss left the Stamford Bridge faithful in stunned silence, realising that even from twelve yards out, the Blues still can’t score a goal in the Premier League as their league drought continues.

Liam Delap was introduced as a concussion substitute for the stricken Derry, but the psychological blow of the injury and the penalty miss was evident as the teams headed into the tunnel.

Chelsea trailing 2-0 against a weaker Nottingham Forest side

Despite Forest rotating their squad due to their ongoing Europa League commitments, they took the lead after just two minutes through Taiwo Awoniyi.

The misery was doubled in the 15th minute when Igor Jesus converted from the spot after Malo Gusto was penalized for a clumsy challenge.

With a crucial trip to West London scheduled for Tuesday, May 19, the manager is leaving nothing to chance.

This “no days off” mentality is exactly what Spurs need right now in order to successfully escape relegation.

By choosing to spend his day off analysing a future opponent rather than resting, De Zerbi is demonstrating a level of preparation and obsession that top managers are known for.

Roberto De Zerbi has made an instant impact at Spurs

Since arriving to replace interim boss Igor Tudor, De Zerbi has sparked a significant turnaround in North London.

Before his appointment, Tottenham had endured a staggering 15-game winless streak that saw them slide dangerously in the bottom three.

However, back-to-back away victories against Wolves and Aston Villa have transformed the atmosphere at the club.

De Zerbi has not only tightened the defence with the likes of Micky van de Ven and Kevin Danso but has also managed to get the best out of the depleted Spurs side.

Among them is Conor Gallagher, who had his best game in a Spurs shirt during the 2-1 win over Villa.

As Spurs prepare for their final push to secure Premier League survival, De Zerbi’s hands-on approach is providing the clinical edge they desperately needed.

Since his move to the capital, Gallagher has struggled to make any significant impact, often struggling under previous two managers.

But under Roberto De Zerbi, Gallagher seems to have found his groove, with the Italian getting the best out of him.

Weir described the performance as “Gallagher’s best game in a Spurs shirt,” noting that he controlled the tempo and transition of the game with relentless intensity.

Gallagher wasn’t alone in his excellence. Flanked by Joao Palhinha and Rodrigo Bentancur, the trio formed an impenetrable engine room.

“Either side of him, Palhinha and Bentancur were utterly magnificent,” Weir added.

The praise extended to the flanks, where Mathys Tel and Destiny Udogie were described as “relentless,” supported by a composed defensive pairing of Kevin Danso and Micky van de Ven.

Kobbie Mainoo aims subtle dig at Ruben Amorim as Manchester United star praises Michael Carrick after Liverpool winner

3 May 2026 at 22:02

Manchester United’s match-winner against Liverpool, Kobbie Mainoo, appeared to take a thinly veiled swipe at former manager Ruben Amorim while praising the transformative impact of Michael Carrick.

Speaking to Sky Sports following his stunning 77th-minute decider at Old Trafford, the 21-year-old midfielder spoke glowingly of the connection between the current squad and their head coach.

Kobbie Mainoo praises Michael Carrick after Manchester United win

Mainoo, who has been the standout performer since Carrick took the reins in January 2026, highlighted the shift in atmosphere at Carrington.

“He’s played a huge part in it, all the confidence he gives all the players,” Mainoo said, visibly emotional after the 3-2 victory.

“You want to follow him and fight for him and die for him on the pitch.”

The comments have been interpreted by many as a reflection of the fractured relationship between the squad and Amorim, whose 14-month tenure ended abruptly on January 5.

While the Portuguese manager struggled to find consistency, leaving the club in sixth place, Carrick has revitalised the side, leading them on a charge that has seen them climb to third in the Premier League table.

Ruben Amorim struggled to get the best out of Kobbie Mainoo

The contrast in Mainoo’s role under the two managers is striking. Despite being regarded as one of United’s brightest young talents, he was largely overlooked by Amorim, playing just 212 minutes of Premier League football in the first half of the campaign.

It reached a point that Mainoo was even considering a move to Napoli in the January window to secure first-team football.

However, since Carrick’s appointment on January 13, Mainoo has become central to United’s system, starting 12 of the manager’s first 13 matches in charge.

Carrick has built his approach around Mainoo’s composure, intelligence, and passing range,  qualities that were previously underutilised.

Mainoo’s decisive display against Liverpool now stands as a powerful statement of Carrick’s faith, while also highlighting what Manchester United risked losing under the previous regime.

With the midfielder now committing his future to the club by signing a new long-term contract, United have secured one of their most important players for years to come.

The match had taken a dramatic turn after halftime, with Liverpool erasing United’s 2-0 lead through goals from Dominik Szoboszlai and Cody Gakpo.

However, Manchester United’s resolve remained unbroken. In the 77th minute, a cross from Luke Shaw was headed down by Amad Diallo into a crowded penalty area.

Liverpool’s Alexis Mac Allister attempted to clear the danger, but his boot only found the path of the onrushing Mainoo.

From the edge of the area, the 21-year-old midfielder connected with a perfectly timed side-foot rocket that rifled into the bottom corner, leaving Freddie Woodman with no chance.

Mainoo has become a vital part of Michael Carrick’s Man United

Mainoo, who was on the verge of a January exit just a few months ago after falling out with Ruben Amorim has become a key player under Michael Carrick.

Under the guidance of legendary midfielder, who took over as head coach in January 2026, the young midfielder is now one of the first names on the team sheet.

Mainoo’s ability to arrive late in the box and provide clinical finishing has added a new dimension to United’s attack.

Dominik Szoboszlai scores solo goal after Diallo mistake

Manchester United entered the second half with a comfortable two-goal cushion, but that momentum evaporated just two minutes after the restart.

Amad Diallo, who had replaced the injured Benjamin Sesko at halftime, endured a nightmare start to his cameo.

In the 47th minute, Diallo attempted a loose pass in his own half that was easily intercepted by Dominik Szoboszlai.

The Hungarian midfielder needed no second invitation, driving forward with intent and weaving through the United defense.

He capped off the solo run with a composed finish past Senne Lammens, breathing immediate life into an Arne Slot side that had looked second-best until that point.

Senne Lammens gifts Liverpool an equaliser

Under minimal pressure, the Belgian shot-stopper attempted to play out from the back but scuffed his clearance directly into the path of Alexis Mac Allister.

Mac Allister quickly fed Szoboszlai, who unselfishly laid the ball off for Cody Gakpo. With Lammens caught out of position and the goal gaping, the Dutch forward made no mistake, tapping home from close range to make it 2-2.

‘Dreadful’ – Roy Keane brutally slams Liverpool star’s first half performance vs Man United

3 May 2026 at 19:56

Roy Keane has singled out Andy Robertson for a “dreadful” performance as Manchester United took a commanding lead against Liverpool at Old Trafford.

With United heading into the break 2-0 ahead, the Sky Sports pundit did not hold back in his assessment of the visitors’ defensive display, labeling them a “bad five-a-side team.”

Roy Keane slams Liverpool’s first half performance

The first half was defined by Manchester United’s relentless intensity and clinical finishing.

Matheus Cunha opened the scoring just six minutes in, followed by a controversial 14th-minute goal from Benjamin Šeško that was allowed to stand despite a VAR check for handball.

While Arne Slot’s side protested the decision, Keane argued that the manager should be more concerned with his players’ lack of composure.

“[Slot] won’t be happy [with the Sesko handball call] but he should be more upset with his team.

“They look frightened to death. They’ve started slow, they’ve given up two goals, defensively – the second goal, Robertson getting beaten at the back post, Robertson defending so far and going forward… Oh it’s been dreadful.

“Liverpool are like a five-a-side team but a bad five-a-side team.

“Not athletic, giving away the ball cheaply. United look like they can score every time they go forward.”

Liverpool have been awful

The Reds have been awful all season despite spending almost half a billion on transfers.

Many would claim that the club are in a transition phase but the problems appear far deeper with the culture and mentality that Klopp had drilled into the club appearing to have been ripped apart.

Liverpool have 45 minutes to respond to that horrible performance. Slot has to change things quickly or this could become an embarrassing night for the defending champions.
