Xiaomi has introduced a new home appliance to its lineup in China: the Mijia Constant Temperature Electric Kettle Titanium Steel Edition. It is priced at 139 yuan (roughly $20) and is now available on the Youpin platform.

The primary update in this model is the interior construction. Instead of the standard 304 stainless steel found in most budget kettles, Xiaomi is using 316Ti food-contact-grade titanium steel.

The company says that this material provides better resistance to corrosion and acid-alkali wear over time. For everyday use, this means the kettle is less likely to degrade or impart a metallic taste to the water after months of regular boiling.

To make maintenance easier, the interior is a single, seamless piece of metal, which helps prevent hard water scale from building up in hard-to-reach crevices. The top opening is 13.5cm wide, providing enough room to comfortably fit a hand inside for cleaning.

In terms of capacity, the kettle holds 1.7 liters of water, which yields about eight standard cups per boil. It sits on a 1800W base designed for fast and even heating.

The most notable functional feature is the constant temperature mode. By pressing a button on the base, users can set the kettle to hold water at a steady 55°C (about 131°F). It uses a low-power PTC insulation system that can maintain this temperature for up to 24 hours. It is a practical addition for people who regularly drink tea or warm water throughout the day and want to avoid boiling a fresh pot every time.

Xiaomi has also included several standard safety features. The kettle has a dual-layer insulated exterior, so the outside remains safe to touch even when the water inside is boiling.

The lid uses a two-stage dampened opening mechanism, which opens slowly to prevent a sudden rush of hot steam. It also includes dry-boil prevention, automatic shut-off, and overheat protection, managed by a thermostat that has reportedly undergone 10,000 durability tests.

Xiaomi has released a new electric toothbrush in China, the Mijia Sonic Vibration Electric Toothbrush Pro. It has a suggested retail price of 549 yuan (roughly $80), with introductory pricing set at 505 yuan ($74). The toothbrush comes in dark blue, light gold, and light purple colors.

The toothbrush is built around what Xiaomi calls a dual-degree-of-freedom motor. The goal of this motor is to automatically replicate the Bass method, which is the brushing technique most dental professionals recommend for cleaning along the gumline.

To achieve this, the brush combines a 1mm horizontal vibration with a 30-degree vertical sweeping motion. The hardware is capable of 30,720 vertical sweeps and 600 horizontal vibrations per minute. It also features an automatic resistance adjustment system, meaning the toothbrush will dial back its power if you press too hard against your gums.

To track your brushing, the device relies on an internal six-axis sensor. The sensor identifies the position and angle of the brush head in your mouth, distinguishing between chewing surfaces, the inner arch, and the back molars. It then adjusts the vibration pattern based on where you are brushing.

All of this tracking data is sent to the color screen on the handle. While you brush, the display shows your duration, coverage area, and pressure warnings. When you turn it off, the screen generates a brief report that highlights any zones in your mouth that need more attention.

For deeper customization, the toothbrush connects to the Mijia app, where you can manually adjust the vibration intensity, sweeping range, and brushing time, or select specific routines for sensitive teeth.

Physically, the toothbrush has an anodized aluminum alloy body, which is a departure from the standard plastic used in most electric toothbrushes. It is IPX8 water-resistant and includes a soft rubber shock-absorbing structure to reduce the amount of vibration you feel in your hand. The brush head itself can flex up to 45 degrees to help reach the back of the mouth.

The device ships with three interchangeable brush heads: a standard cleaning head, a whitening head with polishing bristles, and a softer option for gum care. The bristles use fading technology to indicate when they need to be replaced, which is typically every three months.

DJI ROMO 2 robot vacuum confirmed to launch on May 11

DJI is getting ready to launch its next robot vacuum, the ROMO 2, on May 11. The biggest hints so far revolve around navigation and low-clearance cleaning.

An official teaser video suggests the ROMO 2 can slide under beds and sofas with very little space underneath, something many robot vacuums still struggle with. Another teaser suggests the vacuum can move around objects placed on the floor, without bumping into them. That likely points to improvements in obstacle detection and movement precision.

There are also hints at better mopping performance this time around, including quicker floor drying after cleaning, though DJI hasn’t officially detailed how that system works yet.

For context, DJI only entered the robot vacuum space relatively recently with the first-generation ROMO lineup, which launched in China last year. Unsurprisingly, the company leaned heavily on its drone experience for things like navigation and sensing.

The original ROMO models used a combination of dual fisheye cameras and solid-state LiDAR for mapping and obstacle avoidance, helping them move through crowded spaces with very little manual intervention. Some versions even came with transparent design elements, giving them a more futuristic look than most robot vacuums on the market.

On the cleaning side, DJI advertised suction power up to 25,000Pa, alongside dual robotic arms for edge cleaning and anti-tangle roller brushes aimed at handling long hair more effectively. The docking station was also fairly ambitious, supporting self-cleaning and long maintenance intervals of up to 200 days. The ROMO 2 will likely build on most of that rather than completely changing direction.

At this point, full specs are still under wraps, but the quick follow-up launch suggests DJI is moving aggressively in this category. The company is clearly trying to position itself against established names like Roborock and Ecovacs, especially in the premium smart cleaning segment.

As usual, China will probably get the device first, with wider availability coming later if DJI follows the same rollout strategy as before.

iQOO Z11 launches globally with Snapdragon 7s Gen 4, massive 9020mAh battery, 144Hz display

iQOO has officially launched the new Z11 and Z11x in Malaysia, bringing the standard model outside China for the first time. And looking at the specs, battery life is very clearly the main focus here.

The regular iQOO Z11 is the more premium of the two, and honestly, the first thing most people will notice is the massive 9,020mAh battery. That’s unusually large even by current standards. What’s interesting is that iQOO still managed to keep the phone relatively slim at 8.25mm and reasonably manageable at 213g. Charging goes up to 90W, and there are a few extra battery-related features as well, including bypass charging and long-term battery health protection.

The phone also gets a large 6.83-inch AMOLED display with 1.5K resolution and a 144Hz refresh rate. Brightness can apparently hit 5,000 nits in certain conditions, though as usual, that number likely applies to small HDR highlights rather than full-screen use.

Under the hood is Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 7s Gen 4 chip, replacing the Dimensity 8500 used in the Chinese variant, paired with up to 12GB RAM and 256GB storage. Benchmark comparisons from NanoReview suggest the Dimensity 8500 delivers noticeably stronger CPU and GPU performance.

iQOO is also using a fairly large vapor chamber cooling setup here, likely because the phone is being positioned partly toward mobile gamers. The cameras are decent on paper, though clearly not the main selling point. You get a 50MP Sony IMX882 primary camera, a 2MP depth sensor, and a 32MP front camera with 4K recording support.

The Z11x sits lower in the lineup but keeps a surprisingly similar overall approach. It swaps the AMOLED panel for a 6.76-inch LCD display with a 120Hz refresh rate and uses MediaTek’s Dimensity 7400-Turbo chipset instead. Battery capacity drops to 7,200mAh, though that’s still a large capacity for a smartphone in 2026.

Charging is reduced to 44W, but the phone still keeps the IP68 and IP69 ratings. Camera hardware includes a 50MP Sony IMX852 main sensor, a 2MP depth camera, and a 32MP selfie shooter.

Pricing and availability:

Pricing in Malaysia for the standard Z11 starts at RM1,899 for the 8GB + 256GB version, while the 12GB + 256GB model is priced at RM2,199. The Z11x starts at RM1,299 for the 8GB + 128GB variant, while the 256GB version comes in at RM1,599.

Both phones are already available through the company’s official website in Malaysia. As part of a limited 10-day launch offer, the base variants are currently discounted to RM1,599 for the Z11 and RM1,099 for the Z11x.

The focus of this new battery pack is keeping the physical footprint down while maintaining a standard 10,000mAh (39.2Wh) capacity. It measures 1.47cm thick and weighs about 210 grams. While it’s not weightless, it is thinner than most standard magnetic power banks in this capacity range.

Anker designed the dimensions so it fits properly on the back of supported iPhones, meaning it shouldn’t block the camera bump or stick out past the bottom edge of the device. It attaches using 17 built-in rubidium magnets, which provide a 12.8N magnetic force. It will also work through magnetic phone cases, provided they are under 1mm thick.

For charging, the specs are solid and practical. If you use it wirelessly, it outputs up to 15W for compatible iPhones. According to Anker, that will get an iPhone 17 Pro to about 40% in 30 minutes.

If you need to charge faster, there is a USB-C port that supports up to 30W for both charging your phone and recharging the battery pack itself. Using a cable, an iPhone 17 Pro can reach 50% in around 22 minutes.

The power bank uses ATL battery cells, which is the same supplier Apple uses for its devices. To keep things from getting too warm during use, the internal structure includes high-polymer graphene materials and a dedicated temperature control chip. On the safety side, the device meets China’s 2026 safety standards, passing tests for puncture resistance, compression, and heat exposure. It has a soft-touch finish with metallic accents and comes in four colors: Black, White, Blue, and Orange.

Taiwanese Motherboard Market Faces Major Collapse in 2026

The consumer PC hardware market is reportedly heading toward one of its biggest downturns in years. According to a new report from DIGITIMES, major Taiwanese motherboard brands have sharply reduced their shipment targets for 2026 as rising hardware prices and weak demand continue to hurt the industry. 

Companies including ASUS, Gigabyte, MSI, and ASRock are all expected to see major shipment declines next year.

AI Demand Is Hurting Consumer Hardware Supply

One of the biggest reasons behind the slowdown is the rapid expansion of the AI industry. Chipmakers like Intel and AMD are reportedly prioritizing production of high-profit server processors such as Xeon and EPYC chips instead of consumer CPUs. As a result, desktop and laptop processors are facing supply shortages and price increases. Reports also suggest that additional CPU price hikes may arrive later in 2026.

RAM and Storage Prices Continue to Rise

Memory prices have also increased sharply over the past year. Reports claim RAM and storage now account for over 30% of a PC’s total build cost, compared to around 15% previously. Because of these rising costs, many laptop makers have increased prices by 10–20%, while some affordable models are now offering weaker specifications to keep prices under control. This has reduced consumer purchasing power and slowed upgrade demand.

GPU Market Shows Little Excitement

The gaming GPU market is also struggling to attract buyers. NVIDIA has not introduced major RTX 50 series upgrades in 2026, while rumors suggest the RTX 60 series may not launch until 2028. GPU prices also remain high in many regions, making gaming PC upgrades less attractive for consumers. Many users are reportedly choosing to keep their older PCs longer instead of spending heavily on new hardware.

Motherboard Brands Face Shipment Declines

ASUS is reportedly struggling to maintain even 10 million motherboard shipments in 2026 after shipping around 15 million units in 2025. Gigabyte, MSI, and ASRock are also expected to see major declines in motherboard sales as the overall DIY PC market weakens further.

AI Servers Become the Main Revenue Driver

Despite weaker consumer PC sales, companies are still expected to remain profitable thanks to booming AI server demand. AI servers are now generating significantly more revenue than traditional consumer hardware, helping brands offset declining motherboard and graphics card shipments.

Oppo is testing a 100MP 1:1 selfie camera for future smartphones

When Apple introduced the iPhone 17 series last year, one of the more unusual hardware changes was its square-shaped front camera sensor.

Apple called the feature Center Stage, and it allows the camera to automatically frame shots in both vertical and horizontal orientations without needing to rotate the phone.

Now, it looks like Android brands are preparing to follow suit. 

Oppo’s next phone could have a square selfie camera

According to tipster Digital Chat Station, a smartphone maker is currently evaluating a 100MP 1:1 square front-facing camera sensor. The tipster did not directly name the company, but the emoji shared in the post strongly suggests the device belongs to Oppo.

And this isn’t the first time Oppo has been rumored to be working on a square selfie camera technology. Back in February, the same source claimed that both Huawei and Oppo were paying close attention to 1:1 square sensors and were considering them for future front-facing cameras.

The biggest advantage of a square selfie sensor is flexibility. Traditional front cameras are usually optimized for vertical shots, which means users often need to rotate the phone horizontally to record wider selfie videos or group shots. A 1:1 square sensor changes that by capturing a larger image area.

The technology also pairs well with AI features. It can be helpful with features such as automatic subject centering and wider field-of-view adjustments for improved video calls, livestreams, and short-form content creation. 

All iPhone 17s use a 24MP square sensor. Oppo testing a 100MP solution could result in higher-resolution selfies and more detailed video capture.

Vivo X Fold 6 to swap Snapdragon for MediaTek Dimensity, 200MP camera leak

We have already seen a few foldable announcements in the first quarter of 2026, and there are certainly more coming in the months ahead. Insider Digital Chat Station (DCS) has now shared details about Vivo’s entry for this year, likely to be called the X Fold 6.

The most important detail here is that the X Fold 6 could use MediaTek’s Dimensity 9500. Vivo’s foldables have so far relied exclusively on Snapdragon chips, with the last model, the Vivo X Fold 5, shipping with the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 3.

If that happens, the X Fold 6 would also become the first foldable phone to launch with the Dimensity 9500.

On the camera side, the X Fold 5 features three 50MP lenses. The X Fold 6 is reportedly upgrading the main sensor to 200MP while retaining a 50MP ultra-wide and a 50MP 3x periscope telephoto camera. The circular camera module design is also expected to stay, at least based on the prototype device that DCS reportedly got hands-on with.

The X Fold 6 is said to include a side-mounted fingerprint sensor for biometrics, which is the usual choice for slim foldables.

And speaking of slim, Vivo made a point of the X Fold 5’s weight last year. At 217 grams, it was lighter than the iPhone 16 Pro Max at launch, and the company called it the lightest foldable it had ever made. The X Fold 6 is likely to build on that foundation.

Durability was another highlight of the X Fold 5. It comes with both IPX8 and IPX9 ratings and reportedly survived thousands of folding cycles in water. We hope the company brings further improvements this time around.

No launch date has been confirmed yet. The X Fold 5 launched in June last year at 6,999 yuan, so a similar timeline could place the X Fold 6 sometime this summer, although nothing has been finalized. We will know more once Vivo decides to make things official.

Qualcomm has just announced two new affordable smartphone chipsets, the Snapdragon 6 Gen 5 and Snapdragon 4 Gen 5, and they promise to be bigger than just an annual refresh. Both chips offer an all-around upgrade, with the performance and efficiency getting a major uplift.

The latest Snapdragon 6-series chip uses the same 4nm node as its predecessor but upgrades CPU and GPU to deliver higher performance and stability. The connectivity upgrades and advanced AI camera features are also promising, raising the bar for mid-range chipsets.

CPU offers 20% faster app launch and faster multi-core performance

On the CPU side, the peak clock speed jumps from 2.3 GHz to 2.6 GHz, and because the Snapdragon 6 Gen 5 upgrades to a (4 performance + 4 efficiency) cluster, all four performance cores benefit from higher speeds.

Its predecessor, the Snapdragon 6 Gen 4, uses a (1 prime + 3 performance + 4 efficiency) CPU cluster, so the peak speed of 2.3 GHz applies only to a single core, while the remaining seven cores operate at lower speeds. The shift from one 2.3 GHz “prime” core to four 2.6 GHz performance cores in the Gen 5 significantly improves multi-core performance. The new chip also promises a 20% faster app launch.

GPU upgrades with premium features and 21% faster performance

The upgraded Adreno GPU delivers 21% better performance and brings modern gaming features for sustained performance and higher stability. The new 6 Gen 5 chip introduces premium gaming features usually found on flagship chips, including the Adaptive Performance Engine 4.0, which dynamically manages device resources and thermals to ensure sustained FPS during long gaming sessions.

The new SoC also brings Snapdragon Game Super Resolution and Qualcomm Game FPS 3.0 to deliver sharper graphics and stable frame rates, with official HDR gaming support.

Camera gets advanced AI features

With the latest camera upgrades, Snapdragon 6 Gen 5 narrows the gap with high-end chips. It adds 100x in-sensor zoom support for the first time in the Snapdragon 6-series. The feature uses AI to enhance clarity when using extreme digital zoom.

The new chip also brings AI-based low-light technology, which is designed to capture sharper, more vibrant photos in dark environments, and supports 4K HDR recording at 30 fps.

Connectivity gets a major upgrade with Wi-Fi 7 and Bluetooth 6.0

One of the biggest highlights of the Snapdragon 6 Gen 5 is Wi-Fi 7 support, which was previously reserved for high-end flagship chips. It allows for a higher speed of up to 5.8Gbps with a lower latency. The chip also includes the latest Bluetooth 6.0 standard, offering improved stability and power efficiency.

The chip also upgrades to a 3GPP Release 17 5G modem, which improves upload speeds and reliability in crowded areas.

The Snapdragon 4 Gen 5 promises significantly faster GPU performance and upgraded connectivity with better stability and Dual SIM Dual Active support. The camera also receives notable upgrades.

Modest CPU upgrades, but a far better GPU

The Snapdragon 4 Gen 5 uses the same 2+6 CPU cluster as its predecessor, but increases the peak clock speed to 2.4 GHz (up from 2.3 GHz) to deliver a meaningful performance boost.

The Adreno GPU brings a generational upgrade, promising a 77% faster performance. The 4 Gen 5 is also the first in the Snapdragon 4 lineup to support 90fps gaming at HD resolution. The chip also introduces a Snapdragon Smooth Motion UI feature that makes scrolling and animations feel much more fluid.

Qualcomm claims a 43% faster app launch on the Snapdragon 4 Gen 5 compared to its predecessor. The new chip also delivers 10% better power efficiency.

Upgraded camera and connectivity

The Snapdragon 4 Gen 5 adds support for 1080p video recording at 60fps and electronic image stabilization. It also brings a suite of photography tools, including intelligent face detection, auto-focus, auto-exposure, and auto-white balance.

The fifth-generation chip includes a 5G modem with a higher peak download speed of 2.8Gbps (vs. 2.5Gbps on the 4 Gen 4). It supports Dual SIM Dual Active (DSDA) 5G + 5G/4G connectivity for the first time in the Snapdragon 4-series. This means both SIM slots can maintain simultaneous connections without compromise. The 4 Gen 5 also adds support for Qualcomm Sound with 96kHz lossless streaming and aptX Adaptive Audio.

Realme 16x clears India BIS ahead of official unveiling

Realme looks set to add another model to its growing 16 series lineup in India. The upcoming Realme 16x has now surfaced on the BIS certification website, which usually means an official launch isn’t too far away.

The certification was reportedly approved on May 6, 2026, suggesting Realme is already wrapping up regulatory formalities for the Indian market. Tipster Abhishek Yadav also recently mentioned the Realme 16x on X, claiming the phone will launch soon in India. According to the leak, the device could arrive in two color options: Endurance Brown and Glory White.

Storage variants are expected to include:

  • 4GB + 128GB
  • 6GB + 128GB
  • 6GB + 256GB

That setup makes it pretty clear Realme is targeting the affordable 5G segment again. The phone is expected to succeed the Realme 15x 5G, which launched last year with a starting price of ₹16,999 for the 6GB+128GB variant. The 8GB + 128GB and 8GB + 256GB configurations were priced at ₹17,999 and ₹19,999, respectively.

That phone focused heavily on battery life and everyday performance, offering a 144Hz display, 6-nm based Dimensity 6300 mid-range chipset, and a large 7,000mAh battery with 60W charging.

At the moment, specs for the new model are still under wraps, but the overall positioning likely won’t change too much. Expect the Realme 16x to land somewhere in the ₹15,000 to ₹18,000 range, competing with the usual crowd of budget 5G phones.

It’ll also expand the broader Realme 16 lineup, which already includes the standard Realme 16, Realme 16 Pro, and Realme 16 Pro Plus.

With the BIS certification now live, an official announcement could happen within the next few weeks. And considering how competitive the affordable 5G segment has become in India, Realme will probably continue focusing on the same formula that worked well before: big batteries, high refresh rate displays, and decent day-to-day performance.

Xiaomi’s New BE7200 Pro Router Brings Flagship WiFi 7 Features at a Shockingly Low Price

Xiaomi has officially launched the new Xiaomi BE7200 Pro WiFi 7 router in China. The company is positioning it as a more affordable flagship networking solution for users who want high-speed wireless connectivity without paying premium prices for top-end models like the BE19000 Pro.

The router is currently available for pre-order in China, while official sales will begin on May 13. Xiaomi has not yet confirmed any global launch plans for the device.

Pricing and Availability

The Xiaomi BE7200 Pro comes with a suggested retail price of 1,199 Yuan (around $176). However, Xiaomi is offering an introductory sale price of 883.15 Yuan (approximately $122) during the initial launch period.

With this pricing, the router targets gamers, smart-home users, and heavy internet users looking for next-generation networking features at a lower cost.

WiFi 7 Speeds and Hardware

The BE7200 Pro supports the latest WiFi 7 standard and delivers dual-band wireless speeds of up to 7,200Mbps. Xiaomi says the router is designed for demanding tasks such as 8K video streaming, cloud gaming, and handling multiple smart devices simultaneously.

Under the hood, the router is powered by Qualcomm’s NPro A7 quad-core platform. It includes 1GB DRAM and 512MB flash storage. Xiaomi has also added a large 72,348mm² heat dissipation system to improve thermal performance during heavy workloads.

Connectivity and Smart Features

One of the key highlights of the router is its networking setup. The BE7200 Pro includes five 2.5GbE Ethernet ports with a combined transmission bandwidth of up to 10Gbps. This makes it suitable for multi-gig broadband connections, NAS systems, and high-speed wired gaming setups.

For wireless coverage, the router features eight built-in high-gain antennas along with eight signal amplifiers. Xiaomi claims this setup improves wall penetration, connection stability, and whole-home coverage.

After weeks of teasers, OnePlus has officially announced the OnePlus Nord CE 6 and Nord CE 6 Lite in India. Both are sub-Rs 30,000 phones, with some genuinely impressive specs for the price.

The Nord CE 6 is the more premium of the two, starting at ₹29,999. It sports a 6.78-inch AMOLED screen with 1.5K resolution and a 144Hz refresh rate that can peak at a blinding 3,600 nits of brightness.

Under the hood sits a Qualcomm Snapdragon 7s Gen 4 chip, and OnePlus has even borrowed the Touch Reflex chip from its flagship OnePlus 15 to deliver ultra-responsive 3,200Hz touch sampling during gaming sessions.

It runs on Android 16-based OxygenOS 16 out of the box. And the phone also brings stereo speakers, unlike last year’s Nord CE 5.

It is powered by a massive 8,000mAh cell paired with 80W fast charging. It can even reverse-charge other devices at up to 27W. The phone also carries IP66, IP68, IP69, and IP69K ratings alongside MIL-STD-810H certification.

OnePlus Nord CE 6 Lite

The Nord CE 6 Lite, starting at Rs 20,999, is relatively more modest. It uses a 6.72-inch FHD+ LCD panel — also with 144Hz — and runs on MediaTek’s Dimensity 7400 Apex chip.

 Its 7,000mAh battery supports 45W charging and a handy bypass charging mode that routes power directly to the motherboard to reduce long-term battery wear. Cameras are simpler here: a 50MP rear shooter and an 8MP selfie camera, both capable of 4K video on the rear.

Both phones are available through Amazon, the OnePlus Store app, and physical OnePlus Experience Stores. The Nord CE 6 goes on sale May 7th with a Rs 2,000 early-bird bank discount, while the Lite follows on May 12th with similar card-based offers.

The new MatePad Pro Max is Huawei’s latest premium tablet, and the company is making thinness one of its biggest selling points. At just 4.7mm thick and weighing 499g, Huawei says the MatePad Pro Max is the world’s thinnest and lightest flagship tablet.

The device features a 13.2-inch flexible OLED PaperMatte display with 3K resolution, 144Hz refresh rate, 1600 nits peak brightness, and 1440Hz PWM Dimming. Huawei says the PaperMatte technology reduces glare and improves visibility in bright environments. 

The bezels are also unusually slim at 3.55mm. Huawei has hidden the 12MP front-facing camera system inside the bezel itself.  The back has a 50MP rear camera.

The MatePad Pro Max also supports keyboard accessories and stylus input, and the company says it’s designed for “PC-level productivity.” Speaking of which, the tablet delivers 20% performance bump and 30% better heat dissipation than the MatePad Pro 2025. 

Despite its slimness, Huawei has fitted in a big enough 10,400mAh battery, which is good for over 14 hours of video on a single charge. For audio, you get a six-speaker setup with quad-driver bass and four microphones. 

Price and Availability

The Huawei MatePad Pro Max is launching in two flavors: 12/256GB and 12/512GB. Pricing starts at £999.99, and you can choose between Blue and Space Gray shades, though Huawei says regional availability will vary depending on the market.

Samsung Galaxy Watch Can Predict Fainting Spells, Clinical Study Reveals

Samsung has announced a major advancement in wearable healthcare technology. A new clinical study conducted in partnership with Chung-Ang University Gwangmyeong Hospital in South Korea found that the Samsung Galaxy Watch6 can predict fainting episodes before they happen.

The research focused on vasovagal syncope (VVS), one of the most common causes of fainting. According to the study, the smartwatch was able to warn users up to five minutes before a fainting episode with an overall accuracy of 84.6%.

What is Vasovagal Syncope?

Vasovagal syncope occurs when a person experiences a sudden drop in heart rate and blood pressure. This can temporarily reduce blood flow to the brain, causing loss of consciousness.

Common triggers include stress, fear, emotional shock, anxiety, and pain. While fainting itself is usually not life-threatening, sudden falls can lead to serious injuries such as fractures, head trauma, and concussions.

Researchers noted that up to 40% of people may experience VVS at least once during their lifetime, while many patients suffer repeated episodes.

How the Galaxy Watch6 Detected Fainting Risk

The study involved 132 patients with suspected VVS symptoms. Under medical supervision, participants underwent induced fainting tests while wearing the Galaxy Watch6.

The smartwatch used its built-in photoplethysmography (PPG) sensor to collect heart rate variability (HRV) data. Researchers then analyzed the data using an AI-based prediction system.

The results showed:

  • 84.6% overall prediction accuracy
  • 90% sensitivity
  • 64% specificity
  • Up to 5 minutes of advance warning

Samsung says this is the world’s first successful demonstration of a commercially available smartwatch predicting fainting spells in advance.

Samsung Plans More Preventive Health Features

Professor Junhwan Cho, who led the research, said early warnings could give patients enough time to sit down, lie safely, or seek help before collapsing.

Samsung also stated that it plans to expand AI-powered preventive healthcare features in future Galaxy wearables. The findings of the study were published in the European Heart Journal, Digital Health.

At its latest global launch event in Bangkok, Huawei introduced a new batch of wearables. Leading the announcement was the Huawei Watch Fit 5 series, consisting of a vanilla and Pro model.

The standard Watch Fit 5 gets a 1.82-inch AMOLED display, while the Pro version increases that to 1.92 inches and adds sapphire glass, slimmer bezels, and 3,000 nits of peak brightness. The Pro model also uses titanium alloy and a nanoceramic finish on select versions.

Huawei says the Watch Fit 5 series introduces “Mini-Workout” mode, which is essentially a collection of short guided exercises designed for people who don’t want to commit to a full workout session. The feature even adds a small animated panda companion on the watch face.

The watches also expand outdoor fitness features. Cyclists can now see virtual power and cadence metrics in real time, while the Pro model adds trail running navigation and golf support with access to more than 17,000 courses globally. 

Both the model features improved sleep tracking, a-fib (atrial fibrillation) analysis, and the usual health and wellness features. The Pro, however, adds ECG and arterial stiffness detection. It also supports women’s health management with a temperature sensor that tracks wrist temperature trends and predicts period, ovulation day, and cycle.

As for the battery, the company says the Watch Fit 5 series can last up to 10 days under lighter usage conditions and around a week with more regular use. Both watches support Android and iOS.

Alongside the fitness-focused watches, Huawei also introduced something far more extravagant, the Huawei Watch Ultimate Design Spring Edition. Co-designed with jewelry designer Francesca Amfitheatrof, the smartwatch is covered with 99 natural diamonds, sapphire crystal detailing, and a titanium case inspired by Fibonacci patterns.

Despite the luxury focus, Huawei still packed in the usual smartwatch features. The watch supports ECG monitoring, respiratory tracking, eSIM calling, NFC payments, and even diving support up to 40 meters.

Then there’s the Huawei Watch GT Runner 2 Racing Legend Edition, which targets serious runners instead of luxury buyers. Huawei says the watch improves GPS accuracy by 20%, thanks to a redesigned floating antenna system and dual-band satellite positioning.

The company also worked with marathon runner Eliud Kipchoge on training features that include pace predictions, race preparation plans, lactate threshold analysis, and fueling reminders during long runs.

The Watch GT Runner 2 supports more than 100 sports modes and promises up to 14 days of battery life under lighter use. Like the rest of Huawei’s latest wearables, it works with both Android and iPhone devices, though some features remain limited on iOS.

Price and Availability

Huawei says the Huawei Watch Fit 5 Series will be available starting May 7 through the Huawei Store. The standard Watch Fit 5 is priced at £159.99, and the Watch Fit 5 Pro costs £249.99. 

Huawei is also bundling launch offers until June 21, including a £30 discount coupon, a free watch strap, and a Huawei Scale 3 with purchase. 

The luxury-focused Huawei Watch Ultimate Design Spring Edition will also go on sale from May 7 through the Huawei Store, priced at £3,499.99. Meanwhile, the Huawei Watch GT Runner 2 Racing Legend Edition costs £349.99.

Following a brief teaser campaign, Xiaomi has officially unveiled the Gaming Mouse 2 on its Youpin platform. It is a lightweight, spec-heavy wireless mouse aimed directly at the competitive gaming market, and it arrives with a retail price of 399 yuan ($58) and an introductory price of 349 yuan ($51). The mouse will officially go on crowdfunding sale on May 11.

The trend of ultra-lightweight gaming peripherals is well-established at this point, and Xiaomi is leaning into it. The Gaming Mouse 2 weighs in at just 58 grams. According to the company, the ergonomic shell was designed using grip data from competitive players to accommodate claw, fingertip, and palm grip styles. To keep the weight down without compromising build quality, the internal structure relies on a lightweight umbrella skeleton frame, which helps maintain a balanced 1:1 front-to-rear weight distribution.

Under the hood, Xiaomi is utilizing a custom PixArt PAW3955XM sensor. The specifications are exactly what you would expect from a modern high-end mouse: up to 40,000 DPI, 750 IPS tracking speed, and 60G acceleration. Xiaomi has also included a dedicated esports mode that pushes the static scan rate over 20,000 FPS.

For players who want granular control, the mouse supports one-step DPI adjustments and comes factory-calibrated with a DPI error rate of less than one percent. It also features Motion Sync for consistent cursor tracking, five levels of lift-off distance adjustment, a 1-degree angle snapping system, and the ability to track on glass surfaces thicker than 4mm.

The mouse runs on a Telink TL3228 dual-core controller. This hardware allows it to support an 8000Hz polling rate in both wired and 2.4GHz wireless modes. To help with wireless stability at that speed, the mouse sends duplicate data packets across two channels every 125 microseconds.

For the buttons, Xiaomi went with TTC optical switches for the main left and right clicks, along with a TTC gold wheel encoder for the scroll wheel, which is rated for two million cycles.

You can connect the mouse via a braided USB-C cable, 2.4GHz wireless, or Bluetooth 6.1. It has a 530mAh battery that Xiaomi says lasts up to 160 hours in 2.4GHz mode, though that estimate requires lowering the polling rate to a standard 1000Hz. You can adjust settings like DPI, polling rate, and sensor tuning through a web-based tool or local software, and save them directly to the mouse’s onboard memory.

Qualcomm Snapdragon 6 Gen 5 and 4 Gen 5 Announced With Wi-Fi 7, 90FPS Gaming

Qualcomm has officially introduced the new Snapdragon 6 Gen 5 and Snapdragon 4 Gen 5 chipsets, bringing several premium smartphone features to affordable and mid-range devices. Smartphones powered by these processors are expected to arrive in the second half of 2026.

Both chipsets are built on a 4nm process and focus on improving gaming, smoother UI performance, camera quality, and overall daily smartphone usage. Qualcomm says the new platforms are designed to deliver better graphics, faster app launches, and reduced lag during regular use.

The Snapdragon 6 Gen 5 is the more powerful chipset of the two. It features four performance cores clocked at 2.6GHz and four efficiency cores at 2.0GHz. Qualcomm claims the chipset delivers 21% better GPU performance, 20% faster app launches, and 18% lower screen lag compared to the previous generation.

One of the biggest highlights of the Snapdragon 6 Gen 5 is the inclusion of Wi-Fi 7 and Bluetooth 6.0 support, features that were previously limited mostly to flagship smartphones. The chipset also supports AI-powered Night Vision photography, 100x AI zoom, Snapdragon Game Super Resolution, and cameras up to 200MP.

Meanwhile, the Snapdragon 4 Gen 5 is designed for budget and affordable mid-range smartphones. It includes two performance cores running at 2.4GHz and six efficiency cores at 2.0GHz. Qualcomm says the chipset delivers a major 77% GPU performance improvement along with 43% faster app launches.

The Snapdragon 4 Gen 5 also becomes the first Snapdragon 4-series chipset to support 90FPS gaming. It supports FHD+ 144Hz displays, dual-channel UFS 3.1 storage, and cameras up to 108MP.

Qualcomm has not yet revealed which smartphone brands will launch devices powered by these new chipsets.

Samsung’s next-gen 1.4nm Exynos under testing with a massive 96MB cache and higher clock speeds

Samsung’s cutting-edge 1.4nm node takes a big step forward as the company begins its early testing on the upcoming Exynos chipset. The upcoming Exynos chip in question will reportedly have higher peak clock speeds and a massive 96MB of System Level Cache (SLC), along with many notable upgrades.

Since Samsung’s more focused on improving the yield stability of its 2nm process, we’ll see a couple more iterations of the 2nm GAA process before the 1.4nm process enters mass production. That also means the 1.4nm Exynos chip under testing is unlikely to be the unreleased Exynos 2700. Regardless, the early details of this 1.4nm Exynos chip, shared by @SPYGO19726, look promising.

The chip will have a 10-core CPU cluster divided into a ‘2+4+4’ configuration. The two prime cores achieve a maximum speed of 4.50GHz, while the current Exynos 2600 peaks at 3.8GHz. That’s a solid 19% jump in the peak speed. Further, the four performance cores operate at 3.80GHz, and the four efficiency cores run at 2.00GHz.

Perhaps the most exciting development of this Exynos chip is the integration of 96MB of SLC cache. The tipster also reports an ultra-wide bus width to minimize latency between the CPU cores and the GPU. A large SLC can store much more frequently used data to achieve a lower memory latency and a boost in bandwidth. This effectively reduces the need for components such as CPU, GPU, NPU, and ISP to remain active all the time to send information to the larger cache.

Unfortunately, it’s more expensive to produce chipsets with a large SLC cache because it occupies a significant portion of the silicon die. And with larger dies, production costs also go up. It’s important to note that 10MB is the highest SLC cache in smartphone chips, found in the Dimensity 9500. Bumping it to 96MB would result in a die size incompatible with smartphone form factors. However, it can be used in many other device categories.

With Samsung targeting 2029 for the mass production of its 1.4nm node, there’s still plenty of time for development and optimizations. Therefore, it’s best to treat these early details with a grain of salt. Consequently, while these early specifications are exciting, it’s best to treat them with a grain of salt.

Starting today, iQOO has started receiving pre-orders for its upcoming flagship smartphone, the iQOO 15T, in China. Alongside the phone, the company has also opened reservations for the iQOO Pad 6 Pro tablet and iQOO TWS 5i earbuds. While the official teaser images only reveal a glimpse of the products and promotional offers, recent leaks have already painted a fairly detailed picture of what users can expect from the new lineup.

The teaser image shared by iQOO highlights the slim profile of the iQOO 15T and hints at a large rear camera module. The company is also offering multiple pre-order benefits in China, including extended warranty support, battery-related benefits and trade-in offers. Apart from this, the teaser does not confirm hardware specifications yet.

However, known tipster Digital Chat Station recently shared an alleged image of the phone’s rear panel, suggesting that the iQOO 15T may borrow its design language from the iQOO 15 Ultra. The image revealed a square camera module paired with a flat metal frame. On the front, the smartphone is expected to offer a 6.83-inch 2K flat display with a 144Hz refresh rate and an ultrasonic in-display fingerprint scanner.

The iQOO 15T is also tipped to arrive with MediaTek’s upcoming Dimensity 9500 chipset, which is expected to be based on TSMC’s second-generation 3nm process. In terms of optics, leaks suggest a 200-megapixel Samsung HP5 primary camera with OIS support and full-pixel autofocus.

The device is also rumoured to support 8K video recording. Battery details point towards an 8,000mAh unit with support for 100W wired fast charging. Other expected features include Wi-Fi 7, Bluetooth 5.4, IP68 and IP69 ratings, and an X-axis linear motor.

Alongside the smartphone, iQOO has also teased the iQOO Pad 6 Pro in a green color option. The teaser image confirms a slim design with a circular dual-camera setup at the back. The company is also promoting accessory and exchange-related offers for early buyers.

As per recent reports, the tablet may feature a 13.2-inch 4K LCD display and could run on Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 chipset. It is also expected to offer up to 16GB RAM and 512GB storage, along with a 13,000mAh battery supporting 90W fast charging. This device is likely to be similar to the Vivo Pad 6 Pro, which debuted in March in China.

The iQOO TWS 5i earbuds have also surfaced through official teaser images, revealing an in-ear design with stem-style earbuds and a black-and-gold charging case. The teaser mentions up to 50 hours of battery life and 42ms low-latency gaming mode.

At present, there’s no telling whether these devices will be released globally.

Redmi K100 tipped with wireless charging, but it could cost a lot more

The Redmi K100 series won’t debut in China until October, but early details about the lineup have already begun to surface online. The latest leak sheds light on the key specifications of the vanilla Redmi K100. 

According to industry insider Digital Chat Station, the K100 will feature a 6.6-inch display on the front. Not much different from Redmi K90, but the battery and charging could get a real upgrade.

The leak suggests the phone could pack an 8500mAh cell, and adds that the company is further experimenting with larger capacities. By comparison, the Redmi K90 already ships with a sizeable 7,100mAh battery. Wired charging will remain at 100W, though Redmi may finally bring 50W wireless charging to the standard model as well.

These are the first set of specs revealed for the Redmi K100. Earlier reports, however, suggested the device could also see a price increase.

A previous report suggests the device may still arrive with last-gen Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5, but the price could increase to 4,000 yuan, or some $585. For comparison, the Redmi K90 was launched at CNY 2,599, which roughly translates to $380.

And it’s not just the base models. Phones rumored to have 2nm based processors like the 8 Elite Gen 6 are also expected to start at a higher starting price of 5,000 yuan (~$730).

One of the main reasons behind the increase is said to be rising memory costs. As such, several smartphone makers in China have already raised prices on select models in recent months.

As for the higher-end variant, the Redmi K100 Pro Max is rumored to feature the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6 alongside a 200-megapixel primary camera using a 1/1.28-inch sensor, as well as a 50-megapixel periscope telephoto lens.

New OnePlus 16 leak reveals specs, 200MP periscope, 9000mAh battery in cards

OnePlus hasn’t said anything official about the OnePlus 16 yet, but leaks out of China keep coming. The latest one, from tipster Digital Chat Station on Weibo, reveals key specs of the phone, and they line up pretty well with everything we’ve heard before.

According to the leak, the OnePlus 16 will be powered by the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6 Pro, which carries the model code SM8975. It’s an up-and-coming chip from Qualcomm expected to reach 5GHz clock speed.

On the display side, earlier leaks suggested a minimum refresh rate of 185Hz, with OnePlus reportedly evaluating support up to 240Hz. The new leak confirms a BOE flat screen with an “ultra-high refresh rate,” which is consistent. 

The panel is also said to use LTPO and LIPO packaging technologies to reduce bezels to around 1mm on all four sides. Whether it actually ships with 240Hz support is still unclear; the company is apparently still testing it.

As for the camera, the tipster reiterates that it will feature a 200MP periscope telephoto unit. Previous leak suggests the sensor could be in the 1/1.x-inch territory. The rest of the rear camera system is expected to include a 50MP primary and a 50MP ultrawide.

The OnePlus is also expected to get a major battery upgrade. Digital Chat Station‘s latest post mentions a maximum of 9,000mAh. A separate tipster previously claimed the same figure, so there’s at least some agreement there. The phone is also said to include a bionic X-axis vibration motor, symmetrical dual speakers, full water resistance, and a dedicated AI button.

As for software, the OnePlus 16 is expected to ship with OxygenOS 17 on top of Android 17. The phone is reportedly targeting a China launch in October, though no date has been confirmed.

Huawei Mate 90 Pro Max tipped to include a 10x periscope telephoto

Huawei looks like it’s bringing back something most smartphone brands have quietly moved away from: true long-range optical zoom. Fresh leaks surrounding the upcoming Mate 90 Pro Max suggest the phone could feature a dedicated 10x optical periscope camera, alongside a second telephoto lens.

If accurate, it would mark a pretty significant shift at a time when many Android flagships are leaning more heavily on high-resolution sensors and digital cropping instead of native long-range optics. For context, the Mate 80 Pro Max already features a fairly capable dual-telephoto setup, combining a 50MP periscope camera with 4x optical zoom and a second 50MP periscope lens offering 6.2x optical zoom.

The leak comes not too long after Oppo showed what a modern 10x setup can do with the Find X9 Ultra. That phone uses a 50MP sensor paired with a 230mm-equivalent periscope lens and a complex prism arrangement, allowing it to maintain surprisingly good detail even at higher zoom levels. Oppo also pushed the idea of “lossless” 20x zoom through sensor cropping.

Huawei seems to be taking a somewhat similar direction. The Mate 90 Pro Max is rumored to pair the 10x periscope camera with a large 1-inch-type main sensor and Huawei’s XMAGE imaging system.

Exact details about the telephoto hardware are still unclear, but Huawei has experience in this area. The P40 Pro+ from 2020 was one of the first phones to offer proper 10x optical zoom in a relatively compact body, using a folded light-path design to make it work. In a way, the upcoming Mate series could be seen as Huawei revisiting that idea with newer hardware and smarter image processing.

The wider Android market has largely shifted away from this approach. Samsung, for instance, brought back 10x optical zoom on the Galaxy S21 Ultra using a dual fixed-focus telephoto setup, matching the zoom range of the experimental Galaxy S4 Zoom from 2013. However, the company later moved to a 5x optical zoom setup on the Galaxy S24 Ultra to accommodate a larger 50MP sensor.

Huawei’s current Pura 90 Pro Max already pushes zoom pretty far with its 200MP telephoto, especially for video at higher magnification levels. The Mate 90 Pro Max is expected to build further on that foundation, pairing a larger sensor inside a 10x periscope module with AI-powered image enhancement.

Google Pixel 11 series specs detailed: 2nm-based chip, new image sensors

Google’s next Pixel lineup is starting to leak in detail. A large spec dump has now revealed information across the entire Pixel 11 lineup. The focus this time seems to be a few hardware changes that are a little unexpected.

The biggest shift is probably the new Tensor G6 chip

Google is moving to TSMC’s 2nm process for the chipset, which should help quite a bit with efficiency and sustained performance, two areas Pixel phones have been criticized for in the past. The chip itself uses a 1+4+2 CPU setup, combining ARM’s newer C1-series cores with a PowerVR GPU. There’s also a refreshed TPU for AI tasks, the Titan M3 security chip, and notably, a switch to the MediaTek M90 modem.

That last part is important because it means Google may finally be moving away from Samsung’s Exynos-based modem setup, something Pixel users have complained about in the past due to heat and connectivity issues. The MediaTek M90 itself is a newer 5G-Advanced modem introduced in early 2025, and appears to succeed the M80 modem found in the Dimensity 9100.

The regular Pixel 11 is expected to feature a 6.3-inch OLED display with a 60-120Hz refresh rate, HDR brightness up to 2,000 nits, and peak brightness reaching 3,100 nits. Battery capacity is listed at 4,840mAh rated. For comparison, the current Pixel 10 has a rated capacity of 4,835mAh, while the marketed typical capacity sits at 4,970mAh. Camera-wise, the phone is tipped to get a new 50MP main sensor, along with 8GB or 12GB RAM options.

Moving up the lineup, the Pixel 11 Pro and Pixel 11 Pro XL are expected to bring sharper displays with resolutions of 1280×2856 and 1344×2992, respectively. Both panels are also tipped to reach up to 2,450 nits HDR brightness and 3,600 nits peak brightness. RAM options reportedly go up to 16GB, while the camera setup sees upgrades to both the main and telephoto sensors.

As for battery capacity, the Pixel 11 Pro is listed with a 4,707mAh rated cell, while the Pro XL is expected to pack a 5,000mAh battery. The capacities themselves are fairly close to the Pixel 10 series, but the move to the 2nm Tensor G6 chip could still help improve overall battery life and efficiency.

Google is reportedly removing the infrared thermometer and replacing it with a small RGB LED setup called “Pixel Glow.” From what’s being described, it works somewhat like a smaller version of Nothing’s Glyph interface. The previously rumored IR face unlock apparently still isn’t ready for this generation.

Taken together, the Pixel 11 lineup looks less like a dramatic redesign and more like Google refining the experience in areas where previous Pixels fell short: better thermals, improved cellular connectivity.

Casio launches $880 rainbow metal G-Shock watch in the US

Casio has officially released the GMW-BZ5000RC-1 in the United States. It is the newest addition to the company’s 5000 series of full-metal watches. The model originally launched in Japan in April 2026, followed by a gradual rollout in the UK and select European markets. It is now listed on Casio’s US website and available to purchase for $880.

Design Details

The main draw of this specific model is the design of the case. Casio has tweaked the construction of the 5000 series here, connecting the bezel and the center case at the top and bottom to leave the middle section exposed. That exposed center case is treated with a gradient rainbow ion-plated finish. Because of how the plating process works, the color distribution is slightly different on every unit. It also features gold-colored screws and a glass face treated with a matching rainbow vapor deposition.

Underneath the metal, it still relies on a resin bumper system to absorb impacts. Interestingly, Casio says that it used AI to help design the watch’s structure, feeding decades of drop-test data into a model to optimize the 3D shapes of the interlocking metal components.

Beyond the metal casing, the most practical upgrade is the display. Instead of the traditional LCD found on standard G-Shocks, the GMW-BZ5000RC-1 uses a Memory in Pixel (MIP) screen. MIP displays are noticeably easier to read in direct sunlight and offer much higher contrast. Because it’s a higher-resolution panel, Casio included a feature in its companion mobile app that lets you switch the display font. You can use a standard modern digital font, or swap it to a Classic mode that digitally recreates the blocky, 7-segment look.

The rest of the spec sheet is standard for Casio’s higher-end digital watches. It includes Bluetooth for automatic time syncing with your phone, Multiband 6 radio control as a fallback for time calibration, and solar charging. With the power-saving mode turned on, the watch can theoretically last up to 22 months in complete darkness. It also maintains the standard 200 meters of water resistance.

SanDisk has introduced a new portable storage drive in China, the ELE series 1TB portable SSD (upgraded model), which is currently available for an introductory price of 869 yuan (128). It is a straightforward storage device aimed at people who need to keep large files, like video projects or high-resolution photos, on hand without taking up much physical space.

The SSD measures 75mm long, 45mm wide, and about 10mm thick, and it weighs just 31.7 grams. Because it is small and lightweight, it fits easily into a pocket, a camera pouch, or a laptop bag. SanDisk says that the drive is tested to survive drops from up to two meters, providing standard physical protection for everyday handling and travel.

The drive connects via a USB-C port using the USB 3.2 Gen 2 interface, which supports a theoretical maximum bandwidth of 10Gbps. In terms of actual performance, SanDisk says the SSD can reach read speeds of up to 600MB/s.

This is a common practice for entry-level and mid-range storage devices, but it is something to keep in mind if your workflow involves writing very large batches of files to the drive on a regular basis, as the transfer might take a bit longer than the advertised read speed suggests.

It is a 16-inch laptop that runs on Intel‘s new Core Ultra 200HX processors and Nvidia’s RTX 50-series graphics cards.

Asus is offering a few different configurations for this model. You can pair the Core Ultra 7 251HX with an RTX 5060, 16GB of RAM, and either 512GB or 1TB of storage. If you opt for the Core Ultra 9 290HX Plus, you can choose between the RTX 5060 and the RTX 5070, with RAM options of 16GB or 32GB.

The Core Ultra 9 processor features a hybrid architecture with 18 cores and 18 threads, reaching clock speeds of 5.1GHz. It also includes an NPU to handle background AI tasks. On the graphics side, both the RTX 5060 and 5070 options come with 8GB of GDDR7 memory and run at up to 115W. They support DLSS 4.5, which helps maintain frame rates in more demanding games.

The screen is a 16-inch, 2560 x 1600 panel with a 16:10 aspect ratio. It has a 300Hz refresh rate, a 3ms response time, and reaches 500 nits of brightness. It covers the DCI-P3 color space and includes an anti-glare coating and G-Sync to help prevent screen tearing.

Inside, the device runs on a 1.7 GHz dual-core Cortex-A55 processor, paired with 2GB of RAM and 32GB of internal storage. It runs reMarkable’s custom Linux-based operating system, designed specifically for digital paper use cases like note-taking, annotation, and distraction-free reading.

Honor is working on a 12,000mAh phone, plus a dual-cell 10,000mAh model

Honor is doubling down on the big battery game. After pushing into the 10,000mAh category with last year’s WIN series, the company is now rumored to be expanding that strategy across more devices.

According to a recent leak, Honor is preparing four additional smartphones with 10,000mAh-class batteries. Add those to the three models already out, and Honor will have seven 10,000mAh phones in total. No other brand is anywhere near that number.

Two of the upcoming four phones are more interesting. One is said to feature a 12,000mAh battery, which would set a new high for mainstream smartphones. 

The second device is reportedly using a dual-cell 10,000mAh battery design, which could be a first for the industry. The dual-cell setup helps with heat and charging efficiency, meaning Honor might actually pull off 120W fast charging on a 10,000mAh phone without it turning into a hand warmer.

The leak doesn’t confirm product names, but based on rumors, the phones could be a part of Honor X80, Honor Power 3, and a new WIN 2 series.

Right now, Honor already dominates this segment in its home market. Out of the four existing 10,000mAh-class phones, three belong to the company. The only exception is the Vivo Y600 Pro, which comes with a 10,200mAh battery and sits at the lower end of the price range.

Other brands are expected to enter this space too. Oppo, Xiaomi, and Huawei are all rumored to be working on similar devices this year. But their approach is more cautious. They will likely launch one model and see how it goes. 

As for Honor, it’s going all in. Honor seems to want to be the brand people think of the moment someone mentions long battery life.

Inside, the laptop runs on the AMD Ryzen 9 9955HX processor, a 16-core, 32-thread chip designed for heavy workloads and gaming. For graphics, buyers have a few configuration options: an RTX 5060, an RTX 5070, or the higher-tier RTX 5070 Ti. To manage the heat generated by these components, Asus is using a dual-fan cooling system with 0.1mm fan blades. Under heavy load, the laptop is rated to handle a total system power draw of up to 205W.

The screen is an 18-inch display with a 2560 x 1600 resolution. It features a 300Hz refresh rate and a 3ms response time. The panel covers 100% of the DCI-P3 color space, reaches 500 nits of brightness, and includes Nvidia G-Sync to prevent screen tearing. Asus also applied an anti-glare coating to help with visibility in bright rooms.

For memory and storage, the base models start with 16GB of RAM, while higher configurations offer 32GB of dual-channel DDR5-5600 memory. All models come with a 1TB PCIe 4.0 NVMe SSD. The motherboard includes dual memory slots and dual M.2 slots, meaning users can open the laptop and upgrade both the RAM and storage themselves later on.

Given the 18-inch screen, the Tianxuan 7 Pro Max is a heavy device. It weighs roughly 2.8kg and measures 1.89cm thick. It features an asymmetrical, mechanical-themed chassis design and a 180-degree hinge.

The system is powered by a 90Wh battery that supports fast charging, reaching about a 50% charge in 30 minutes. It also supports 100W USB-C charging.

The port selection covers most standard peripherals. The left side includes an Ethernet jack, an HDMI 2.1 port, two 10Gbps USB-C ports (which support DisplayPort 2.1), one 10Gbps USB-A port, and a 3.5mm audio jack. The right side adds two more USB-A ports.

Rounding out the hardware is an RGB keyboard with 1.7mm of key travel, a 1080p webcam with IR for Windows Hello facial recognition, and Dolby Atmos audio support.

Sony Xperia 1 VIII Amazon listing, Geekbench reveals specs ahead of June 26 launch

Sony looks like it’s changing direction a bit with the next Xperia flagship, especially when it comes to zoom photography. Fresh leaks surrounding the upcoming Xperia 1 VIII suggest Sony is moving away from the variable telephoto system used on the Xperia 1 VII.

The details come from listings spotted on Amazon Germany and Amazon UK, reported by NotebookCheck. According to ITHome, the Xperia 1 VIII swaps the previous continuous optical zoom lens for a fixed 70mm telephoto camera with 3x optical zoom.

On paper, that sounds like a downgrade. The Xperia 1 VII could smoothly shift between 85mm and 170mm focal lengths (roughly 3.5x-7.1x), something no phones offer as of early 2026. But Sony seems to be compensating in another area that arguably matters more for everyday use: sensor size.

A much larger telephoto sensor (rumored)

The new telephoto camera is said to use a much larger 48MP 1/1.56-inch sensor, replacing the older 12MP 1/3.5-inch unit. That’s a pretty big jump, and it should help with light capture, detail, and low-light performance. There’s a chance the trade-off could actually work in Sony’s favor.

While the extreme long-range zoom from the older model may be gone, most users could end up getting better-looking photos in the focal lengths they actually use more often. The main and ultra-wide cameras reportedly stay familiar, sticking to 24mm and 16mm equivalents.

Outside the camera system, benchmark listings show the Xperia 1 VIII (Sony XQ-GE54) running Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 chip paired with 12GB RAM. Geekbench scores floating around online point to flagship-level performance.

There also seem to be a few design tweaks this time around, including what looks like a more squared-off camera module. At the same time, Sony is apparently keeping some of the things Xperia fans tend to care about, including the 3.5mm headphone jack and the tall cinematic-style display.

Nothing is official yet, but the overall direction is becoming clearer. Sony doesn’t seem interested in chasing the highest zoom numbers anymore. Instead, it looks like the company is trying to improve the kind of shots people take most often, while still keeping that enthusiast-focused Xperia identity intact.

iQOO 15T image surfaces ahead of expected launch this month

iQOO 15T has been in the rumor mills for a while now. A new rumor today is giving us a first look at the device, or more like a part of it. 

Reliable insider Digital Chat Station (DCS) from Weibo shared a back image of the iQOO 15T showing the square camera module. The device, at least from what’s visible in the leak, borrows heavily from the brand’s Ultra series design language.

The camera module has two visible lenses along with the flashlight, while the rim has a knurled texture. The device has metal frames confirmed by the antenna lines, while this seems to be the silver shade of the iQOO 15T. 

On the front, the leak hints at a 6.83-inch flat display with a 2K resolution. The tip also claims a 144Hz refresh rate, which is the same as the iQOO 15 Ultra. The camera module is led by a 200-megapixel main sensor, which DCS is the first for any iQOO flagship. However, details about its other rear cameras remain under wraps

What else can you expect?

There are also early expectations around performance and battery. Previous rumors suggest the device may run on a Dimensity 9500 chipset and could include a large 8000mAh battery with support for 100W fast charging.

Apart from this, iQOO is also expected to announce a flagship tablet called the iQOO Pad 6 Pro. The phone and tablet could launch together, likely this month. 

The large-screen device is said to feature a 13.2-inch LCD screen with support for 4K resolution, a Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5chip, 16GB of RAM, 612GB of storage, and a 13,000mAh battery with 90W fast charging support. It may come in three shades: Man Dao, Grey Crystal, and Silver Wing.

CMF has launched the Watch 3 Pro in India, bringing its latest smartwatch to the market after its earlier international debut in January. The new model succeeds the Watch Pro 2 and adds upgraded fitness tracking, AI tools, Bluetooth calling, and longer battery life.

CMF says the screen-to-body ratio is 10% higher than the Watch Pro 2. Always-On Display is also supported.

The smartwatch has a precision-milled metal body, soft-touch silicone straps, and an IP68 rating for dust and water resistance. It comes in Light Green, Dark Grey, Light Grey, and Orange. The device measures 25.8 x 4.7 x 1.44cm and weighs 51g.

What fitness and smart features does the CMF Watch 3 Pro offer?

For fitness tracking, the Watch 3 Pro supports more than 130 sports modes, including 131 listed activity modes and automatic detection for seven activities. It includes dual-band GPS with L1 and L5 support, along with GLONASS, Galileo, QZSS, and Beidou. CMF has also added a four-channel heart rate sensor, SpO2 monitoring, an accelerometer, an ambient light sensor, 6-axis motion tracking, sleep detection with enhanced sleep tracking, stress monitoring, women’s health records, calories, distance, exercise duration, water reminders, and stand-up alerts.

Smartwatch

The watch also offers Active Score, which uses MET-based data to summarise weekly physical activity. AI-powered workout summaries show training load, estimated recovery time, and endurance predictions for 5K and 10K runs.

Smart features include ChatGPT-based voice prompts, Bluetooth calling, a speaker, a microphone, an additional microphone for clearer calls, gesture shortcuts, 140-character quick replies, weather, flashlight, Find My Phone, voice recording with transcription, and Essential News digests.

Vivo brings the X300 FE to India with a smaller design and 200mm telephoto extender

Alongside the Vivo X300 Ultra, Vivo has also launched the Vivo X300 FE in India. While the Ultra is more about the camera hardware, the X300 FE is a more compact flagship with a balanced set of features.

It is built around a 6.31-inch AMOLED display that offers 2640 x 1216 pixels resolution, along with an adaptive refresh rate that ranges from 1Hz to 120Hz. Vivo also says the panel can reach up to 5,000 nits of peak brightness.

Under the hood, the X300 FE is powered by the Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 chipset. It’s paired with LPDDR5X Ultra RAM and UFS 4.1 storage that offers configurations up to 12GB of RAM and 512GB of storage. The device runs OriginOS 6 based on Android 16 and is promised five years of Android updates, along with seven years of security patches.

Keeping everything powered is a 6,500mAh battery, supporting 90W wired charging and 40W wireless charging.

Camera and Audio

On the camera side, Vivo is sticking to a familiar triple-camera setup. The X300 FE includes a 50-megapixel Sony IMX921 main sensor, accompanied by a 50-megapixel telephoto lens using the IMX882 sensor with 3x optical zoom, and an 8-megapixel ultra-wide camera. On the front, there’s a 50-megapixel camera for selfies and video calls.

The Extender Gen 2 and its camera case cost Rs 15,999 and Rs 3,999, respectively. Bundled together with the phone, you can get it for Rs 97,999. It comes in three color options: Noir Black, Lilac Purple, and an India-exclusive Urban Olive finish.

Vivo X300 Ultra launches with 200MP sensors and pro-grade zoom add-ons

After weeks of teasing, Vivo has officially launched the Vivo X300 Ultra in India. It follows the smartphone’s Chinese debut in late March, and as expected, not much has changed.

The device revolves around the idea of offering a camera-first experience. It features a 14mm ultra-wide camera using a 50MP Sony LYTIA 818 sensor with an f/2.0 aperture, OIS, and third-generation VCS bionic spectrum technology.

The 35mm main camera uses a 200MP Sony LYTIA 901 sensor with an f/1.85 aperture, improved light intake, and reduced reflectivity. The 85mm telephoto camera is based on a 200MP Samsung HP0 sensor and offers 3-degree gimbal-level stabilization with support for up to 60 autofocus operations per second.

All of this is housed in what Vivo describes as a metal, pancake-style camera module with a knurled texture. The device comes in Victory Green and Eclipse Black and carries IP68 and IP69 ratings for dust and water resistance.

The Vivo X300 Ultra is also compatible with two external teleconverter modules. The first is the Zeiss Telephoto Extender Gen 2 Ultra, which offers 400mm focal length using a 15-element optical structure. Meanwhile, the non-ultra Zeiss Telephoto Extender Gen 2 has a 200mm focal length with around 8.7x optical zoom. 

Both telephoto extenders feature CIPA 6.5-rated stabilization, meet ZEISS APO optical standards, and support fast autofocus at up to 60fps. Combined with the phone’s native cameras, Vivo refers to the entire setup as the “ZEISS Master Lenses Collection.”  

Not to forget, the extenders are compatible only with the Vivo Imaging Grip Kit. 

As for videos, the X300 Ultra supports 4K 120fps Dolby Vision and 4K 120fps 10-bit Log recording across all lenses. It includes OIS on all cameras, a four-microphone array, and support for 3D LUT imports. And if you’re professional, it supports ACES workflows, built-in cinematic modes like 24fps film style, and a 60fps modern format.

Display, performance, and battery

The device is powered by Qualcomm’s best Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5, paired with up to 16GB of LPDDR5X RAM and 512GB of UFS 4.1 storage. Vivo has also upgraded thermal management with a liquid cooling vapor chamber. The system increases overall heat dissipation by 14 percent and features a 22% larger vapor chamber. 

On the front, you get a 6.82-inch 2K LTPO AMOLED display with a 144Hz refresh rate, HDR10+, and 2160Hz PWM dimming. It runs Android 16 with OriginOS 6.

It is backed by a 6,600mAh battery with 90W wired charging, 40W wireless charging, and reverse wireless charging.

Price and availability

The Vivo X300 Ultra comes in 12GB/512GB and 16GB/512GB variants in India, priced at Rs 159,999 and Rs 169,999, respectively. The 400mm telephoto extender costs Rs 27,999, and the imaging grip kit costs Rs 11,999. The X300 Ultra, along with the grip kit and both extenders, is available at Rs 2,09,999.

After extensive beta testing, Samsung has finally started rolling out the stable One UI 8.5 update, based on Android 16 QPR2. As anyone would easily guess, it’s the Galaxy S25 series getting the first bite of the stable rollout.

Samsung wasted no time in expanding the One UI 8.5 rollout to more Galaxy devices. The Galaxy S25 FE, Galaxy S24 Edge, Galaxy Z Fold 7, and Galaxy Z Flip 7 were quick to follow. The rollout should expand to more Galaxy phones and tablets over the coming days and weeks.

Here’s a list of Galaxy devices that have received the stable One UI 8.5 update so far:

Stable One UI 8.5 rollout took a lot longer

Samsung took a lot longer to kick off the stable One UI 8.5 rollout than we had expected. The beta program for the Galaxy S25 went live in December 2025, and over the next five months, Samsung released ten beta builds. That’s well above four or five betas Samsung usually pushes before the stable release.

The stable rollout has finally gone live, and Samsung appears to be speeding things up. The update has already reached seven devices in a single day. Hopefully, it will continue to cover the rest of the eligible Galaxy devices at a good pace. Xiaomi has released more details about its upcoming Gaming Mouse 2. Last week, the company teased the new PC peripheral, and a recent post on Weibo finally outlines the core specifications. The main takeaway is that Xiaomi is using a custom PixArt sensor, which suggests the company is trying to make a more serious entry into the PC gaming accessory market rather than just releasing a basic budget option.

The mouse is built around a custom PixArt PAW3955XM sensor. PixArt makes the sensors for most major gaming mice, and this particular version comes with some high specifications. It supports a maximum sensitivity of 40,000 DPI. While nobody actually plays games at 40,000 DPI, a high maximum sensitivity usually means the sensor will track accurately and consistently at the lower settings most people actually use.

Along with the high DPI, the mouse has a maximum tracking speed of 750 IPS (inches per second) and up to 60G of acceleration. In everyday use, this just means the mouse can keep up with fast physical movements.

Xiaomi also noted a maximum static frame rate of over 20,000 FPS and a 1 percent DPI precision rate, which includes a 1-to-1 factory calibration. According to the company, this setup is intended to prevent cursor drift and frame drops during both small micro-adjustments and larger movements.

Looking at the promotional images, the design is fairly standard. It has a symmetrical shape, but it includes two side buttons on the left edge, making it best suited for right-handed users. Xiaomi is marketing it as an esports mouse, pointing to the sensor, internal controller, and factory tuning as proof of its competitive focus.

Of course, a spec sheet doesn’t tell the whole story. The shape, weight, and overall feel are usually what make or break a gaming mouse. Xiaomi hasn’t shared the weight, battery life, wireless polling rate, or price yet. The company usually prices its devices lower than traditional gaming competitors like Logitech or Razer, but we won’t know how it actually compares until it officially launches.

Oppo Reno X tipped as a compact wide-slab phone with 16:10 aspect ratio screen

Oppo has started preparing the Reno 16 series for launch, with pre-reservations now open in China. A new leak, however, suggests the company is working on an entirely different Reno phone that sits somewhere between a traditional slab and a foldable, without actually folding.

According to tipster Digital Chat Station (DCS), they have gotten hands-on with an engineering prototype of what is referred to as the “Reno X.” And its description is a bit unusual for a regular phone.

The device reportedly features a 6.39-inch flat display, but with a resolution of “21xx×13xx” and an aspect ratio closer to 16:10. That’s noticeably wider than most modern smartphones, which typically stick to tall, narrow designs.

The idea here, at least based on the leak, is that this phone mimics the experience of a foldable, just without the hinge.

Moreover, the prototype is said to run on a Dimensity 9-series flagship chipset, and the battery is reportedly capped at around 7,000mAh.

On the camera side, the device is rumored to feature a triple-camera system with a 50-megapixel main sensor and a periscope telephoto lens.

A user in the comments shared a model design of a device measuring 143mm by 91mm, to which DCS replied that the purported Reno X looks pretty much the same.

As for the launch, the tipster says the current internal plan for the Oppo Reno X is to debut alongside the company’s annual flagship lineup, likely referring to the Oppo Find X10 series. This clears up any confusion about whether it will launch with the Reno 16 series.

Inside, the Mijia Air Purifier 6 uses a dual-filter architecture combined with a dual-fan blade setup to create what Xiaomi calls a “dual-airflow” system. Practically, that means faster air circulation and higher purification capacity compared to the previous generation.
