Oppo Find X9s vs. Oppo Find X9: 7 Key differences you need to know

Find X9s vis Find X9

Oppo has expanded its flagship lineup with the introduction of the Find X9 series, offering premium experiences at various price points. While both the Oppo Find X9s (MYR 3,599) and the standard Oppo Find X9 (MYR 3,999) share the same striking 7025mAh battery and 6.59-inch ProXDR display, the MYR 400 price gap hides several critical hardware distinctions.

If you are trying to decide which flagship deserves a spot in your pocket, here are the seven main differences between these two powerhouses.

Find X9s vis Find X9
Find X9s vis Find X9

Processing Power: Dimensity 9500 vs. 9500s

The most significant internal difference lies in the chipset. The standard Find X9 is powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 9500, built on a 3rd-gen 3nm process designed for peak “unbound power.” In contrast, the Find X9s utilizes the Dimensity 9500s. While the “s” variant is still a flagship-grade 2nd-gen 3nm chip, it is tuned slightly differently, prioritizing efficiency for travel and daily tasks over the raw, sustained gaming performance found in the standard model.

RAM and Storage Configurations

In the Malaysian market, the Find X9s is positioned with a 12GB LPDDR5X RAM and 512GB UFS 4.1 ROM configuration. The Find X9, justifying its higher price tag, bumps the base memory up to 16GB of LPDDR5X RAM paired with 512GB of UFS 4.1 storage. That extra 4GB of RAM on the standard model ensures smoother multitasking and better longevity for AI-heavy workloads.

Charging Versatility: Wireless vs. Wired-Only

Both devices support blazing-fast 80W SUPERVOOC wired charging, but only the Find X9 offers the convenience of 50W AIRVOOC wireless charging. If you have invested in a wireless charging ecosystem or prefer the “drop and charge” lifestyle, the Find X9 is the mandatory choice, as the Find X9s lacks wireless charging coils entirely.

Primary Camera Hardware

While both phones feature a 50MP triple-camera array, the hardware behind the lenses differs. The Find X9 boasts a pro-level 1/1.4-inch large sensor with an f/1.6 aperture, allowing it to take in significantly more light. The Find X9s uses a slightly smaller 1/1.56-inch sensor with an f/1.8 aperture. For night photography and natural depth of field, the standard Find X9 has a clear edge.

Video Recording Capabilities

The Find X9 is a tool for creators, supporting 4K video recording at 120fps and featuring a professional 4K 120fps Log mode for cinematic color grading. The Find X9s, while still very capable, caps its 4K recording at 60fps. If you intend to shoot high-quality slow-motion footage or professional-grade travel vlogs, the Find X9’s 120fps capability is a game-changer.

Connectivity and Bluetooth Versions

The Find X9s surprisingly features a newer Bluetooth 6.1 standard, whereas the standard Find X9 is listed with Bluetooth 6.0. While both offer Low Energy support and high-end codecs like LHDC 5.0, the X9s might offer slightly better future-proofing for next-gen wearables. However, the standard Find X9 includes a dedicated NetworkBoost Chip S1 for better signal stability in “dead zones” like subways, which is absent in the X9s.

Design and Color Aesthetics

Oppo has targeted different vibes with the color palettes. The Find X9s leans into a youthful, “travel companion” aesthetic with vibrant options like Lavender Sky and Sunset Orange. The Find X9 opts for a more sophisticated, “executive” look with its Velvet Red and Titanium Grey finishes, the latter featuring a fingerprint-resistant matte texture. Both phones also come in Space Black edition.

Final thoughts

The choice ultimately depends on your workflow. If you want the absolute best camera performance and wireless charging, the Find X9 is worth the extra MYR 400. However, if you prefer vibrant colors and a slightly lighter price tag without sacrificing that massive 7025mAh battery, the Find X9s is a stellar value proposition.

Oppo Find X9s debuts with Dimensity 9500s, 7,025mAh battery, triple 50MP cameras

Oppo Find X9s

While Oppo unveiled the Find X9s Pro, Find X9 Ultra, Pad 5 Pro, Pad 5 Mini, and a few other devices in China, it introduced the Find X9s in Malaysia. Currently, it is the only other phone in the market to feature the Dimensity 9500s after the Poco X8 Pro Max, which debuted last month. While the Poco offering was a performance-focused model, the Find X9s, being part of Oppo’s X-series, aims to deliver top-notch photography along with all-round performance at a reasonable price.

Oppo Find X9s specifications and features

The Oppo Find X9s houses a 6.59-inch AMOLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate and FHD+ resolution, offering smooth visuals and sharp clarity. The panel supports 10-bit colours and peaks at high brightness levels, making it suitable for outdoor usage.

Under the hood, it runs on the Dimensity 9500s chipset paired with LPDDR5X RAM and UFS 4.1 storage. This combination should deliver stable performance across gaming, multitasking, and daily usage. The device also includes a large vapour chamber cooling system, helping maintain consistent performance during extended workloads.

The camera system is built around three 50-megapixel sensors, covering wide, ultra-wide, and periscope telephoto focal lengths. The telephoto lens supports 3x optical zoom and advanced image processing, while features like Hasselblad tuning, AI enhancements, and 4K 60fps video recording aim to improve overall output across different scenarios.

Oppo Find X9s
Oppo Find X9s

Battery life appears to be one of the key highlights, with a 7,025mAh unit supported by 80W fast charging. The phone runs on ColorOS 16 and includes features like AI tools, improved animations, and cross-device connectivity. It is an IP68/69-rated phone, and the design keeps things slim at under 8mm thickness, with a weight of around 202g, giving it a balanced in-hand feel.

Oppo Find X9s price and availability

Pricing for the Oppo Find X9s is set at MYR 3,599, which roughly converts to $910. It is available in Midnight Grey, Lavender Sky, and Sunset Orange color options.

Honor Magic 9’s display, battery size, and chipset details leaked months before launch

Honor is reportedly working on the Honor Magic 9 series for the Chinese market. A recent leak revealed a few key details about the Honor Magic 9 Pro Max, and now a new leak has surfaced revealing key specifications of what appears to be the standard Magic 9. To recall, the Honor Magic 8 was equipped with a 6.59-inch screen, but rumors surrounding the Magic 9 suggest that it could be a compact offering with a smaller display. Here’s a look at all the details that have surfaced through the latest leak.

Honor Magic 9 key specs tipped

Alleged details of Honor Magic 9 tipped by DCS

A new leak from tipster Digital Chat Station suggests that the Honor Magic 9 could arrive with a strong focus on battery life and compact design. The device is said to feature a 6.3-inch “small screen” form factor, with early evaluations pointing to a battery capacity of around 8,000mAh, which would be a significant upgrade for this segment.

In terms of performance, Honor is reportedly testing two chipset options: a next-generation 2nm Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6 (8E6) and a 3nm Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 (8E5), with the final decision still under evaluation. If the company opts for the slightly older 8E5 platform, the device is still expected to retain premium features such as a periscope telephoto camera, wireless charging support, full-level water resistance, and an ultrasonic fingerprint sensor.

The display is tipped to use an LTPS panel, and choosing the 3nm chip could allow Honor to position the phone at a noticeably lower price compared to the 2nm variant, potentially making it a more accessible flagship offering.

In March, DCS claimed that the Magic 9’s rear camera setup will comprise a 200-megapixel camera featuring a 1/2.8-inch sensor, a 50-megapixel ultra-wide camera, and a 64-megapixel periscope telephoto camera equipped with a 1/2-inch sensor.

Honor Magic 9 Pro Max camera upgrades tipped

Honor Magic 9 Pro Max’s leak by Smart Pikachu

According to tipster Smart Pikachu on Weibo, Honor is working on a new Pro Max variant as part of the Magic 9 series. There is a possibility that this model may replace the previously expected Ultra version, suggesting a shift in naming strategy for the company’s premium devices.

One of the major highlights of the Magic 9 Pro Max is expected to be its dual 200-megapixel camera setup. This includes a primary sensor and a periscope telephoto lens, both aimed at delivering high-resolution imaging and improved zoom capabilities. The device is also tipped to introduce better stabilization to reduce blur and enhance clarity, especially during video recording.

Beyond still photography, Honor is reportedly focusing on refining video performance. The upcoming model is expected to deliver smoother footage, sharper visuals, and improved low-light video quality.

The leak also suggests that Honor may integrate ARRI imaging technology into the Magic 9 Pro Max. This partnership, previously seen on concept devices, could bring enhancements in colour science and video processing, further strengthening the phone’s imaging capabilities.

OnePlus Nord CE 5 live shot

Earlier this month, OnePlus unveiled the OnePlus Nord 6 equipped with the Snapdragon 8s Gen 4 chip. This phone debuted as a tweaked version of the OnePlus Turbo 6, which launched earlier this year in China.

Now, in a new development, the alleged Nord CE 6 has appeared in Geekbench’s database with a Snapdragon 7-series chip. This suggests that it could be based on the OnePlus Turbo 6V, which is already available in the Chinese market.

As seen above, an upcoming OnePlus handset with model number CPH2805 has surfaced in Geekbench’s database. The CPU and GPU details mentioned in the listing suggest that it could be powered by the Snapdragon 7s Gen 4.

The inclusion of this chip suggests that this device could be the upcoming OnePlus Nord CE 6. The listing further reveals that it is equipped with 8GB of RAM and Android 16. Its single-core and multi-core scores are 1,101 and 3,117 points, respectively.

To recall, the CPH2805 device was spotted back in December last year in a report by AndroidHeadlines. Subsequent reports suggested that it will be a global version of China’s OnePlus Turbo 6V.

The OnePlus Nord CE 6 is expected to feature a 6.8-inch flat OLED panel delivering a 1.5K resolution and a 144Hz refresh rate. The Snapdragon 7s Gen 4-powered device is expected to offer 8GB of RAM and 256GB of internal storage.

Like the Nord 6, the CE variant may pack a huge 9,000mAh battery and support 80W fast charging. For photography, it may feature a 32-megapixel front camera, while the rear camera setup may include a 50-megapixel primary camera and an 8-megapixel ultra-wide lens. It is expected to run on OxygenOS 16 based on Android 16.

As per a recent report, the Nord CE 6 and Nord CE 6 Lite may launch in May in India. As for the Lite model, it was reportedly spotted with the Dimensity 7400 chip on Geekbench last week.

The newly launched Xiaomi Mijia central air conditioner features a dual air-outlet design that separates cooling and heating airflow paths. This approach is aimed at delivering more balanced temperature control across indoor spaces. The system is rated with a high energy efficiency score of APF 4.62, placing it in the top tier for energy-saving performance.

The internal and external units feature upgraded heat exchange systems, including a triple-row indoor unit and a dual-row outdoor setup made of copper components. This increases heat exchange efficiency by around 15 percent, which can contribute to faster cooling and better overall performance. The system also supports a wide airflow volume, making it suitable for larger rooms or open layouts.

One of the key highlights is the human-sensing airflow technology. The system can detect presence and adjust airflow accordingly, such as directing air towards occupants, avoiding direct airflow, or switching to energy-saving mode when no one is present. This adds a layer of comfort while also improving power efficiency.

The air conditioner integrates with Xiaomi’s smart ecosystem, allowing control through voice commands, mobile apps, and even remote activation from a car. It also supports OTA updates, which means features can be improved over time. Optional accessories such as a smart air management panel and health-focused modules can further enhance the indoor environment.

In terms of durability, Xiaomi is offering a long-term warranty, which indicates confidence in the product’s reliability. The pricing in China is set at 8999 Yuan (~$1,320), making it relatively competitive for a central air conditioning solution in this category. At present, there is no clarity whether this device will make it to the global market.
