We are in December 2025, and Samsung has started pushing a big update, One UI 8, for the Galaxy Tab S9 FE 5G on Verizon in the US. Based on Android 16, the latest update introduces several new features and improvements to enhance the Galaxy experience.

One UI 8 update for Samsung Galaxy Tab S9 FE 5G arrives in the US with One UI build version X518USQUADYK1. Along with several new features, the update includes the November 2025 security patch to keep your device safe and up-to-date.

Gemini is the main highlight of this update. It lets you interact with an AI that can understand what you’re seeing or doing on your device, right in real time. Now, you can open Gemini Live, tap the camera icon, and ask Gemini what’s on your screen. Also, you can share your screen with Gemini to get more context and help.

Another cool feature is Best Face. If you take a Motion photo, you can choose the best expression from the shots captured. This helps you fix any photos where someone blinked or wasn’t smiling, so you always get the perfect picture.

The update also brings a Wallpaper recommendation feature, which suggests wallpapers from your Gallery based on what looks best. Also, the new Lock Screen clock has a refreshed design that adjusts to fit your photos for a more personalised look.

To get the update, just go to Settings >> Software Update >> Download and Install. Make sure your tablet is connected to Wi-Fi and has enough battery to complete the update.
