An iPhone 17 Pro Was Used To Demo Gemini Spark Instead Of A Pixel, Showing Google Executives’ Preferences Lie Far From The Company’s Own Products

19 May 2026 at 22:48

Gemini Spark was demoed using an iPhone 17 Pro

It’s never a good look for a company when you’re flaunting a competitor’s smartphone to demo a product on stage, but Josh Woodward, who spearheads Google Labs, Gemini app, and AI Studio, likely didn’t care when he was caught demoing an iPhone 17 Pro to showcase Gemini Spark, the Mountain View giant’s latest personal AI agent designed to help with productivity. Given that the company’s Pixel series is a direct competitor to the iPhone, it would have been a better look when displaying company loyalty if a Pixel 10 Pro or a Pixel 10 Pro XL were being used, but […]

Google I/O 2026 – How to watch livestream and what to expect

19 May 2026 at 09:43

Google will hold its two-day “Google I/O 2026” event at the Shoreline Amphitheatre in Mountain View, California. The keynote will start on May 19, where most of the major revealings will happen, and it will wrap up on May 20.

The company is set to unveil an agentic AI ecosystem powered by Gemini. Attention is focused on whether the company will present a blueprint for the era of “agentic AI.”

This year’s developer conference is expected to showcase Google’s next-generation AI strategy centered around Gemini, the company’s core AI model.

Industry insiders believe the key focus of the event will be “Gemini Intelligence.” The system refers to AI that can control and operate various applications on behalf of users.

Its main feature is the ability to complete tasks that would normally require switching between multiple apps in a single workflow.

Gemini Intelligence

Google plans to first introduce Gemini Intelligence on the Galaxy S26 and Pixel 10 smartphones. By the end of this year, the company is expected to expand support to various Android devices including smartwatches, cars, glasses, and laptops.

Additionally, the Mountain View company is expected to unveil a new Gemini model during the event. Based on previous patterns, Google will likely announce an updated version of Gemini 3.0 instead of Gemini 4.0 release.

The update is expected to include AI-powered video and high-quality music features, 3D video conferencing, and improvements in reasoning and multimodal capabilities.

Google is also reportedly pushing forward with a project to merge ChromeOS into a new Android-based desktop operating system. The project is reportedly codenamed “Aluminum OS” and could launch as early as this fall.

This year’s event will also introduce Android XR smart glasses. Google is jointly developing the glasses with Samsung Electronics, Gentle Monster, and Warby Parker, with a launch planned for this year.

How to watch Google I/O 2026 livestream
