Before the Unpacked February 2026 event, the Samsung community had doubts over the titanium Galaxy S26 Ultra, but the confusion ended with the final release, and Samsung didn’t even try to give a reason behind returning aluminum to this lineup.

In 2024, the Galaxy S24 Ultra became the first-ever Galaxy phone to equip a titanium frame, aiming to improve the durability and structural strength. It also helped the company to bring a thinner design for a better user experience. The Galaxy S25 Ultra retained titanium with a round corner design.

You should know that Apple was the first to debut Titanium with the iPhone 15 Pro lineup in 2023 and discontinued it with the iPhone 17 Pro series released late last year.

During the September event, Apple said its new brushed aluminum unibody design has a lightweight aerospace-grade 7000-series aluminum alloy. This upgrade accompanies major changes such as the camera plateau, which created more room inside the chassis and helped the company to increase the vapor chamber size for better cooling and improve the battery capacity, which is now more than 5,000mAh, better than the Galaxy S26 Ultra.

With titanium out of the picture, Samsung has returned to Armor Aluminum. Samsung hasn’t detailed the aluminum or titanium within its Unpacked keynote, but here are the key benefits.

The S26 Ultra has a slimmer outlook, consisting of a 7.9mm thickness and 214 grams in weight. That makes the phone 0.3mm thinner and 4 grams lighter than the Galaxy S25 Ultra.

The reason behind this design improvement is that aluminum is less dense than titanium and helps to reduce the overall device volume. We may have seen further upgrades in this segment, but more space is now allocated to a larger vapor chamber for better cooling.

One of my favorite benefits of reverting to aluminum is vibrant colors returning to the Galaxy Ultra device. Unfortunately, the Galaxy S26 Ultra couldn’t offer improved battery life.

The Galaxy S25 Ultra may not be the last titanium Galaxy S-series phone, but we can’t be so sure, since Samsung chose to say nothing at all.

More information revealed that the Samsung store in Dubai sold him Africa bound S26 Ultra. You should know that the unit that he received was 12000 AED, and he paid about 3200 US dollars to a person, who was supposedly working at the Samsung store in an undisclosed locality.

It comes to the money, the seller is handing over these units without worrying about any consequences. In fact, Sahil later confirmed that the newer storage versions have now arrived and they’re being sold across the market. On a further note, he mentioned that the price has already dropped in one day by up to 1,000 US dollars.

Dire Situation

Revelation of a device from a big company as Samsung, should not be considered normal. The phone maker should have put some strict contraints over its supply chain and shipments.

Today, Samsung officially announced a partnership with Perplexity, one of the leading AI companies, to feature it as a second AI agent for the upcoming Galaxy S26 series.

This AI service will be a part of the feature expansion for the next-gen lineup, allowing users to get a personalized user experience, such as waking up Perplexxity with a dedicated phrase, “Hey Plexy”. It is confirmed that Perplexity is coming to the side button access. For example, pressing and holding the power button will launch Perplexity just like Gemini.
