Vietnam November 2025: VinFast breaks record again, Limo Green #1 with 14.2% share

The VinFast Limo Green is by far the best-selling vehicle in Vietnam in November.

Based on data by local association VAMA and Hyundai, new vehicle sales in Vietnam sink -17.8% year-on-year in 44,801 units. The year-to-date tally is now up just 2.1% to 375,184. This month once again we have access to exclusive figures by local manufacturer VinFast, which sends the overall market to 67,987 for the month and 522,634 year-to-date. 

After passing the 20,000 monthly unit-mark for the first time in October, VinFast breaks its monthly record again in November to a fantastic 23,186 sales. Toyota (-11.1%) limits its fall to stay at #2 ahead of Hyundai (-47%) completely imploding, Ford (-2.6%) and Thaco-Kia (-29.6%). Mitsubishi is stable.

The VinFast Limo Green brilliantly takes the lead of the models charts with a stunning 14.2% share and for its 4th month in market. It distances the YTD leader the VinFast VF 3 ahead of the VF 5 and VF 6. As a result, the Limo Green climbs from #18 to #6 year-to-date. The Mitsubishi Xpander (-7.8%) is the best of the rest above the Mitsubishi Xforce (+20.8%) and Ford Ranger (-9.6%).

Samsung Vietnam phone engine cracks fearing US tariffs

Samsung has one of its key phone manufacturing bases in Vietnam, which was hit hard due to slowing US imports. Even though America exempted smartphone imports from tariffs, Vietnam faced a steep decline in exports.

Reuters reports that the US phone imports from Vietnam “fell to their lowest levels in more than five years” in November 2025, hitting Samsung hard. While the phone maker didn’t reveal export data, the country’s official data says so.

Vietnamese exporters with Samsung’s backing have also faced trade uncertainties and slowing consumer demand. The country faced ups and downs throughout the year, but November ended up being the worst in five years.

Back in January, exports peaked to fill up stocks before tariffs came into effect. After a brief fear, the Trump administration freed up smartphone and select electronics’ imports from tariffs.

However, the smartphone market witnessed a steep decline from August. It was the month the US and Vietnam signed a trade pact, and the latter facing 20% reciprocal tariffs imposed.

Despite the reciprocal tariffs, the US kept phones and electronics exempted. However, trade uncertainties have led the Vietnamese phone exports to the US to fall to less than $410 million in November.

Samsung doesn’t officially share country-wise export data. Having Vietnam as its biggest production base, official export data suggests Samsung’s Vietnam engine has been hit hard in the past couple of months.

A Vietnam-based executive familiar with Samsung’s operations said (via Reuters) the company was adjusting its production and export volumes in the country in reaction to weakening consumer sentiment.
