HONOR Tops Global Smartphone Growth Charts in 2025, Eyes AI and Foldable Innovation at MWC26

6 February 2026 at 21:44

Driven by strong performance in international premium markets, HONOR has emerged as the fastest-growing major smartphone brand globally in 2025, according to a report by Omdia. This surge sets the stage for its planned unveiling of ambitious new AI and foldable devices this spring.

According to a recent report from the global research firm Omdia, HONOR achieved a notable 11% year-over-year growth in global smartphone shipments for 2025. This growth rate secured the number one position among the world’s top ten smartphone vendors for the year.

Further data from the International Data Corporation (IDC) underscores the strategic nature of this expansion. For the first three quarters of 2025, HONOR led all top-ten brands in overseas shipment growth within crucial premium segments. Specifically, the brand showed remarkable strength in:

  • Smartphones priced above $300, covering the premium and upper-mid-tier segments.
  • Tablets in the $300-600 price band, targeting the upper-mid consumer segment.
Honor’s President of Sales and Services, Wang Ban, celebrated the growth on Weibo

This dual-segment leadership indicates a successful strategy of combining volume growth with a deliberate move into higher-margin categories outside its home market.

Building on this momentum, HONOR is poised to make significant waves at Mobile World Congress (MWC) in Barcelona this March. Industry reports confirm the brand will officially unveil two highly anticipated devices: the HONOR ROBOT PHONE, a pioneering foray into AI-integrated mobile technology, and the next-generation foldable flagship, the HONOR Magic V6.

These launches are positioned as key milestones in HONOR’s “Alpha Plan,” its strategic initiative focused on breakthrough innovation in human-centric AI and revolutionary form factors. The 2025 shipment data provides tangible evidence of the brand’s growing market presence, which it now seeks to amplify with these category-defining products.

HONOR’s trajectory reflects a brand in a powerful transition—leveraging solid shipment growth to fund and introduce cutting-edge technology, aiming to redefine its position in the competitive global landscape.

However, rumours suggest that they will be rebranded or tweaked versions of the Redmi Turbo 5 and Turbo 5 Max phones, which recently debuted in China. However, the Poco phones are expected to pack smaller batteries compared to their Chinese counterparts.

The Poco X8 Pro may arrive with the Dimensity 8500 chip and a 6,500mAh battery, whereas the Pro Max edition could be equipped with the Dimensity 9500s and an 8,550mAh battery. Both models may support 100W wired charging and 27W reverse charging.

Sony confirms WF-1000XM6 launch date, teases new design

6 February 2026 at 13:01

Sony has begun teasing its next flagship true wireless earbuds, the WF-1000XM6, finally offering a first official hint after months of leaks and speculation.

WF-1000XM teaser

Sony refers to the earbuds as the “next generation,” and flashes part of the design for just a moment. Still, it’s the clearest signal so far that the successor to the WF-1000XM5 is close.

Sony has confirmed that the full announcement will take place on February 12, 2026, at 16:00 UTC (9:30 PM IST). The company hasn’t said whether this will be a livestream or a simple press release, but full specifications are expected either way.

It has been almost three years since the WF-1000XM5 launched in July 2023, which is a longer gap than usual for Sony’s 1000X lineup. In that time, competition from Apple, Bose, and Sennheiser has only intensified, raising expectations around what the XM6 needs to deliver.

WF-1000XM5 design

The design shown in the teaser appears to match recent leaks. The earbuds look more compact than before, moving away from the rounded shape of the XM5. The new form factor appears flatter and more pill-shaped, which could help with comfort and fit. The charging case also seems to have changed. It looks slimmer and more angular.

Leaks have also pointed to a few smaller but practical changes. A matte finish is expected to return, after some users complained about the glossy surface on the XM5. There also appears to be an extra microphone opening, which could be linked to improvements in active noise cancellation or call quality, though Sony hasn’t confirmed anything yet.

Colour options may expand slightly as well. Black and platinum silver have appeared in leaked images, and there are reports of a third colour, possibly Sand Pink.

With the announcement now just days away, Sony hasn’t left much room for surprises. Whether the WF-1000XM6 represents a major step forward or a more cautious update will become clear soon enough.

Honor 600 could shatter battery records in its class with massive capacity upgrade

6 February 2026 at 12:07
Honor 500

Honor appears to be preparing the next generation of its number-series smartphones. Last year, the brand introduced the Honor 400 series in June, followed by the Honor 500 range in November. Based on this launch pattern, the Honor 600 series could debut as early as June this year in China, or possibly even earlier. Well ahead of any official announcement, the first details about the device have surfaced through a Weibo post shared by well-known tipster Digital Chat Station.

Honor 600 display, battery size tipped

Honor 600 key specs tipped by DCS

According to the tipster, Honor is reportedly working on a new smartphone featuring a 6.57-inch display. Alongside the screen size, the leak suggests that the device may pack a significantly larger battery, potentially reaching around 9,000mAh capacity. This phone appears to be the upcoming Honor 600.

The recently unveiled iQOO Z11 Turbo features a 6.59-inch display, carries the largest battery in its class at 7,600mAh. However, the upcoming Honor 600, which is tipped to feature a similarly sized screen, could surpass that benchmark with a significantly larger battery capacity, potentially setting a new standard for endurance in this segment if the leak turns out to be accurate.

The tipster has not revealed additional hardware details such as the chipset, camera specifications, or charging capabilities, and the official name of the device has not been confirmed either. Despite this, the specifications align closely with expectations for the standard Honor 600, which is likely to succeed last year’s Honor 500.

The Honor 500 featured an iPhone Air-like design and included a 6.55-inch OLED display with 1.5K resolution and a 120Hz refresh rate. It was powered by the Snapdragon 8s Gen 4 chipset and housed an 8,000mAh battery with 80W charging support. The device also offered a 50-megapixel front camera and a dual rear camera system comprising a 200-megapixel main sensor with OIS and a 12-megapixel ultra-wide lens.

Honor 500
Honor 500

It remains unclear whether the Honor 600 will retain the same design language or chipset as its predecessor. There is no official confirmation regarding a global launch yet, but the Honor 600 Lite has quietly appeared in multiple certification listings, suggesting that international variants may be in development. If the Lite model is indeed heading to global markets, the standard Honor 600 and possibly a Pro version could follow, although their specifications may differ from the Chinese editions.

Oppo Find N6’s arrival officially teased, March launch expected followed by Find X9 Ultra, X9s series

6 February 2026 at 11:28
OPPO Find N5

Several reports have claimed that Oppo is working on a couple of new phones, such as the Find N6 foldable, the Find X9 Ultra, and the Find X9s series for the Chinese market. In the latest development, Zhou Yibao, who leads Oppo’s Find-series products, has revealed when these devices will hit the Chinese market.

Oppo Find N6 to focus on crease optimization

According to Yibao’s latest Weibo post, a new foldable phone is slated for launch after the Chinese New Year period. Although the executive did not explicitly name the device, ongoing rumors strongly indicate that the teaser refers to the Oppo Find N6.

In his post, Zhou compared foldable phones to two beds placed together, suggesting that while they may look comfortable, the central gap or crease remains a key concern for users. He acknowledged that crease visibility continues to be one of the biggest barriers for buyers and emphasized that Oppo is investing heavily in improving crease management and overall durability.

Recent reports further support the Find N6 speculation. Two Oppo devices carrying model numbers PLP110 and PLP120 have received China’s 3C certification, with industry sources suggesting these could represent the standard model and a satellite communication variant. The devices are tipped to support 80W fast charging and may debut as one of the first large-format foldables powered by the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 chipset. Early launch expectations point toward a possible unveiling around March in China.

Beyond China, the foldable has also appeared in regulatory databases in multiple regions, indicating a broader rollout plan. Listings in Singapore’s IMDA database reveal support for LTE, 5G, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, NFC, and eSIM connectivity, suggesting that a global version is under development.

Meanwhile, other flagship models such as the Oppo Find X9 Ultra and Find X9s series have only recently surfaced in SRRC certification, with their 3C and TENAA approvals still pending, which implies that the Find N6 will launch first and the X9 models will follow soon after. Likely, all of these devices may debut in March in China.

The Oppo PMA110 phone, which is believed to be the Find X9 Ultra, has received SRRC certification. For those who are unaware, it is a mandatory certification issued by China’s radio regulatory authority to approve wireless devices that use radio frequencies. It confirms that a device complies with China’s spectrum regulations, covering features like cellular connectivity, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, and other radio transmission functions before commercial sale. After this, the Find X9 Ultra is expected to bag 3C and TENAA certifications before going official.

The PMA110 model is also listed with the PMA120 variant in the UFCS database. The PMA120 will support satellite connectivity. For those unfamiliar, UFCS is a unified fast-charging standard developed mainly by Chinese manufacturers (including OPPO, Vivo, Xiaomi, Huawei, and others). Its goal is to create a cross-brand fast charging protocol so chargers and devices from different brands can safely deliver fast charging without proprietary restrictions.

Earlier this week, the PME110 Oppo phone was approved by SRRC. Now, the authority has also certified PHM110. These devices are said to be part of the Find X9s series, which may include two devices: the Find X9s and Find X9s Pro. At present, it is not clear which model numbers correspond to which device.

The PHM110 variant has also bagged UFCS certification, which suggests that it could be the Find X9s Pro, whereas the PME110 without UFCS certification could be the Find X9s. It is advisable to wait for further reports to confirm their final monikers.

The Find X9 Ultra and Find X9s series phones are expected to debut together through a launch event in March in China. It is unclear whether the Oppo Find N6 will be announced at the same platform or separately.

iPhone 18 Pro Max tipped to offer larger battery upgrade as Android rivals race past 10,000mAh

6 February 2026 at 08:06

The iPhone battery may finally cross the 5,000mAh mark, signalling a notable shift in Apple’s long-standing approach to battery sizing. Fresh supply chain chatter, amplified by well-known tipster Digital Chat Station, hints at meaningful changes coming to the iPhone 18 Pro Max. Here’s a look at what the new leak has revealed.

Major battery upgrade tipped for iPhone 18 Pro Max

Apple iPhoen 18 Pro Max’s battery size tipped by DCS

According to DCS, supply chain sources indicate that the Chinese version of the iPhone 18 Pro Max could feature a battery rated at around 5000mAh±, while the international variant may see maximum sample capacities in the range of 5100–5200mAh±. If accurate, this would represent a further increase over the iPhone 17 Pro Max, whose eSIM variant already crossed the 5,000mAh mark with a 5,088mAh battery, suggesting Apple may continue gradually scaling capacity year-on-year.

Interestingly, the shift comes at a time when some Android manufacturers are reportedly exploring batteries approaching or even surpassing 10,000mAh capacities, especially in devices focused on endurance and gaming. Honor recently unveiled the Honor Win and Win RT performance-focused flagship phones packed with a 10,000mAh battery, whereas the Realme P4 Power mid-range performance phones offer 10,001mAh battery.

Apple’s strategy, however, has historically relied on tight hardware-software integration and power-efficient silicon rather than simply increasing battery size. This is where the rumored 2nm A20 Pro chip could play a critical role. A more advanced manufacturing process typically improves power efficiency, meaning the real-world gains may come from a combination of higher capacity and smarter energy management.

A report from November 2025 suggested that the rumoured iPhone 18 Pro Max could weigh over 240 grams, potentially making it Apple’s heaviest and thickest flagship yet. With the latest battery leak, the reason behind this design shift may now be clearer.

If the leaks hold true, users could see longer screen-on times, improved sustained performance for photography and video recording, and potentially better standby longevity. For heavy users, this might address long-standing complaints about battery drain during demanding tasks. Still, as with any early supply chain information, final specifications may change before launch.

Smartwatches fake blood sugar readings as 58% of inspected device models fail German checks

6 February 2026 at 07:26

Smartwatches that claim to measure blood sugar without needles are once again under scrutiny, this time from Germany’s Federal Network Agency. In its latest market surveillance report, the regulator confirmed that several devices sold in 2025 advertised blood glucose tracking despite having no technical ability to measure it, which is a practice officials say poses real risks to consumers.

According to the agency, inspections carried out over the year uncovered problems across roughly 7.7 million electronic products. Many of the violations were procedural, such as missing CE markings or incomplete German-language documentation. Others, however, went far beyond paperwork. Among the most concerning findings were smartwatches that simulate blood sugar readings using unrelated sensors or estimated values, while presenting the results as genuine health data.

Why blood sugar tracking on smartwatches is misleading

Industry experts have been clear for years: accurate blood glucose monitoring requires either invasive testing or an external continuous glucose monitor (CGM). No standalone smartwatch can currently deliver reliable readings on its own. Despite this, low-cost models sold mainly through online marketplaces continue to market the feature aggressively, often targeting people with diabetes.

In at least some cases, the consequences could be serious. A previously published review of the Kospet iHeal 6 showed that its so-called glucose readings varied sharply from real measurements, sometimes enough to influence medication decisions. Regulators warn that relying on such data could lead users to delay insulin, overcorrect their dosage, or ignore warning signs altogether.

The scope of the issue remains significant. The agency flagged 1,266 online listings suspected of non-compliance. While this figure represents an 11.2% decline compared to the previous year, the products involved still accounted for an estimated five million units sold. Smartwatches were the most common offenders, not only for false health claims but also for violations of Germany’s Radio Equipment Act.

Offline inspections revealed similar problems. Of 2,400 device models checked at retail, 58% failed to meet regulatory standards, affecting around 1.9 million units. Most issues were administrative, though some products were found to emit excessive electromagnetic interference.

Customs authorities also stepped up enforcement, blocking 359,000 non-compliant devices at the border after examining more than 8,200 shipments.

For regulators, the message is straightforward: health claims must be backed by real technology. For consumers, Germany’s warning is a reminder that if a smartwatch promises needle-free blood sugar tracking, skepticism is not just reasonable, it’s necessary.

Exynos 2600 performs 10% better than Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 in ray tracing performance

6 February 2026 at 06:57

Samsung’s next flagship mobile chip is already making noise in graphics benchmarks. After recently appearing on a Vulkan GPU test, the Exynos 2600 has now topped the Basemark ray tracing leaderboard, beating Qualcomm’s best Snapdragon offering by a noticeable margin.

According to the latest Basemark Ray Tracing results, the Exynos 2600 outperformed the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 chip by roughly 10 to 15 percent. The chip claimed first place, thanks largely to Samsung’s new Xclipse 960 GPU.

Exynos 2600 vs Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 in ray tracing benchmark

The benchmark data shows a device labeled SM-S942B — believed to be the standard Samsung Galaxy S26 powered by the Exynos 2600 — scoring 8,262 points. In comparison, the BKQ-N49, likely the international version of the Honor Magic8 running the 8 Elite Gen 5, scored 7,527 points. That gives Samsung’s chip a 9.76 percent lead in this specific ray tracing test.

Much of this performance gain appears to come from the Exynos 2600’s underlying design. It is the first smartphone processor to use Samsung’s 2nm Gate-All-Around (GAA) manufacturing process. The approach uses a four-sided gate transistor structure, which improves electrostatic control and allows the chip to operate at lower voltages, potentially boosting both performance and efficiency.

The GPU is another major factor. The Xclipse 960 is the first mobile GPU to use a customized version of AMD’s RDNA 4 architecture, enabling a generational leap in ray-tracing capabilities on smartphones.

Samsung has also focused on thermal management. The Exynos 2600 uses fan-out wafer-level packaging (FOWLP) to shrink the overall package size and includes a new thermal path block (HPB). This copper heatsink makes direct contact with the application processor, reducing thermal resistance by around 16 percent.

While benchmarks don’t tell the whole story, these early results prove Exynos 2600 as a serious competitor in high-end mobile graphics. This could be a comeback moment for Exynos in flagship phones.

Honor X70 launch date-

Honor’s Win and Win RT, featuring Snapdragon 8-series chipsets and a 10,000mAh battery, have received good reception in the Chinese market. Now, the brand is working on the Honor X80 with a similar battery size at a more affordable price. A reliable tipster has shared key details about what to expect from the next X-series phone.

Honor X80 key specifications tipped

According to the tipster, the Honor X80 will have a massive 6.81-inch OLED LTPS panel with a flat design and rounded corners. It will offer a 1.5K resolution and possibly a 120Hz refresh rate.

The device is reportedly being tested with a new-generation Snapdragon 6-series chipset, possibly the SM6850 platform. It remains to be seen whether the chip will be called the Snapdragon 6 Gen 5 or something else. This leak contradicts a previous claim by the same source, wherein he mentioned that the phone will be powered by a Snapdragon 7-series chipset.

As mentioned above, the X80 will pack a massive 10,000mAh battery, but there is no information about its charging capabilities. This battery has already been approved by China’s 3C authority.

In comparison, the Honor X70, which debuted last year in July, came with a 6.79-inch OLED 1.5K 120Hz screen, a Snapdragon 6 Gen 4 chip, and an 8,300mAh battery with 80W wired charging. Its 512GB version also offered wireless charging support. At present, there is no information about the X80’s launch timeframe.

The new leak further claims that Honor plans to standardize 10,000 mAh-class batteries across the X, Power, and WIN line-ups, targeting longer endurance as a key selling point. Additionally, the next-generation Magic series may receive a significant upgrade later this year, potentially featuring a larger 6.85-inch display and more substantial hardware enhancements.

Roborock A30 2.0

Roborock has launched the A30 2.0 floor scrubber, introducing key upgrades to its home cleaning lineup. The new model delivers 25,000Pa of suction power and features a redesigned wastewater deodorization system aimed at improving hygiene during and after cleaning. The product is priced at 1,999 yuan ($288) and is now available on JD.com.

Roborock A30 2.0 Specifications

The A30 2.0 supports a flat-lie design with a thickness of 12.5cm, allowing it to reach under low furniture like beds and sofas. The unit comes equipped with an 870ml clean water tank and a built-in battery that delivers up to 60 minutes of runtime. Roborock says this design enables it to clean larger areas in a single session.

The floor scrubber uses a dual shark-tooth system to manage hair tangles. It includes 141 dense shark teeth positioned to capture longer hair strands early, while a secondary scraper handles short pet hair and fine debris. The system directs collected debris into the wastewater tank to prevent brush clogs.

To tackle odor, Roborock has added a new deodorization module that separates solids from liquids and uses silver-ion technology to inhibit microbial growth. The company says this approach helps eliminate odor at the source and reduces the risk of secondary contamination over time.

The A30 2.0 also introduces a 95°C high-temperature self-cleaning cycle. This mode uses heat to dissolve grease and grime, followed by a quick drying sequence that restores the roller brush to a dry and fluffy state. Roborock has implemented a sealed heating system to prevent accidental contact and to protect children and pets from burns.

Xiaomi’s HyperOS 3.1 Makes Software Updates Seamless and Easier to Install with Super OTA

By:Sean
5 February 2026 at 21:55
Xiaomi HyperOS 3.1 beta update

Xiaomi’s latest HyperOS 3.1 update isn’t just about new UI tweaks and ecosystem features. One of the biggest changes is the way system updates are downloaded and installed on devices. With this release, Xiaomi is introducing a new update architecture called SOTA (Super-OTA), designed to make the update process much smoother, faster and less disruptive for users.

What is SOTA and Why it Matters?

Traditionally, installing a system update on a smartphone or tablet involves downloading a patch, which then needs to be installed by rebooting your device so that the software can be applied. This can interrupt whatever you’re doing, whether you’re gaming, working, or using an application. Depending on how large an update is, this can lead to long waiting times while the device restarts and configures the new software build.

Xiaomi HyperOS 3.1 beta update
HyperOS 3.1

With HyperOS 3.1’s SOTA update structure, Xiaomi changes this behavior significantly. Instead of delivering large, fragmented patches that need separate restarts, the OS bundles system software and core app updates into a single unified package that can download and install in the background without forcing an immediate reboot. The only time your Xiaomi device needs to reboot is when there is a core component change. Even the, the process is much less disruptive.

Every Way SOTA Improves the User Experience

  • Install quietly in the background, so you can keep using your device uninterrupted.
  • Reduce the frequency of reboots, especially for minor fixes and app-module patches.
  • Deliver faster bug fixes, since smaller packages can be rolled out and applied more efficiently without waiting for a big OS update cycle.

Update builds that use SOTA will typically include labels like C05 or C06 in their build number, indicating that both system and app modules have been included in a combined patch that avoids rebooting unless absolutely necessary.

Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 AnTuTu, Geekbench score

Announced in September 2025, the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 is the company’s most powerful smartphone chipset until its successor arrives later this year. This flagship SoC already dominates some of the most popular benchmarks among all smartphone chipsets, and has been a strong choice for top-tier performance and excellent power efficiency.

Here, we’ll look at the benchmark scores of Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 from some popular and reliable platforms, including AnTuTu, Geekbench, and 3DMark.

Note: To obtain the benchmark scores, the tests have been performed on the iQOO 15, powered by the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5.

Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 AnTuTu score

Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 AnTuTu score

The Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5-powered iQOO 15 achieves a total score of over 3.7 million on the AnTuTu benchmark (v11). The major contribution comes from the GPU, with a score of 1.4 million, while the CPU gets a little over a million. The memory and UX scores are also impressive at 435K and 827K, respectively.

AnTuTu score3,751,084
CPU1,085,556
GPU1,401,745
Memory435,923
UX827,860

While the iQOO 15 can’t reach the 4 million AnTuTu mark, the RedMagic 11 Pro, powered by the same chipset, does. This gaming smartphone unlocks the maximum performance of the device at the cost of high battery consumption, achieving an impressive 4,002,199 AnTuTu points.

Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 Geekbench score

On Geekbench, the iQOO 15 (powered by Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5) gets 3,649 points in the single-core test and 10,682 points in the multi-core test. These are solid Geekbench scores, which outperform MediaTek’s most powerful Dimensity 9500 chipset and, obviously, older Snapdragon chips with a big margin.

Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 3DMark Wild Life Extreme score

The 3DMark Wild Life Extreme test shows results that are rather different from those of AnTuTu and Geekbench. Here, the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5-powered iQOO 15 reaches a high score of 7,240 and a low score of 3,219. Surprisingly, the Vivo X300 Pro, powered by Dimensity 9500, gets better scores.

OnePlus 15R (SD 8 Gen 5)5,0093,32166.3%
Vivo X300 Pro (D-9500)7,3104,00654.8%

The OnePlus 13 and OnePlus 15R, which are powered by older Snapdragon 8-series chipsets, also obtains higher low-score than the iQOO 15. What surprises me the most is that the iQOO 15 has the lowest stability of 44.5% of among all the devices the list.

Note that a chipset alone isn’t entirely responsible for the performance, as other aspects like OEM’s implementation, software optimizations, and cooling mechanism also play important roles. The result would be different on a different device powered by the same Qualcomm/MediaTek chipset.

Vivo’s New Vlogging Camera Could Be a DJI Osmo Pocket Rival

By:Sean

DJI Osmo Pocket 3

Vivo, a brand known for its smartphones and high end mobile photography, is reportedly planning to enter the vlogging camera market with a new compact gadget that might be targeting creators and content makers. So here’s everything we know so far.

Vivo Vlogging Camera: New DJI Osmo Pocket Series Rival?

According to a fresh report, the Chinese tech giant is working on a dedicated vlogging camera device that is expected to launch by the end of this year. The new compact vlogging camera that could compete with DJI’s popular Osmo Pocket series of portable gimbal cameras. This would mark a notable expansion for Vivo beyond smartphones and accessories. It also signals its ambition to branch into dedicated imaging hardware that appeals to vloggers who want lightweight, handheld tools that deliver stabilised, high-quality footage without lugging around larger rigs.

DJI Osmo Pocket 3
DJI Osmo Pocket 3

Details about Vivo’s vlogging camera remain scarce, and the company has not officially revealed the product name, specs or price. However, insiders say the device is positioned to compete with DJI’s Osmo Pocket lineup, like the upcoming Osmo Pocket 4 and Pocket 3. Both of these are pocket friendly cameras that feature mechanical gimbal stabilization, touchscreen controls and high-resolution video capture.

If Vivo’s compact camera sees the light of day in 2026 as tipped, it could give creators a new vlogging camera option outside of popular brands like DJI, GoPro, and Insta360. Vivo has been collaborating with Zeiss for its lens and tuning on its flagship X series of smartphones, so we might also see an expansion of this partnership. Although, this is just a speculation at this point, so take this news with a pinch of salt.

SimplyNUC Jean Canyon NUC 15 Mini PC

In other words, you can expect great heavy multitasking, visualizing, and large scale creative workflows, apart from just gaming. Storage is handled via dual M.2 SSD slots with support for PCIe 5.0 and PCIe 4.0 drives, and users can scale up to 8TB total capacity. Despite its small footprint (around 3 liters in volume), the system doesn’t skimp on connectivity. It offers a wide range of ports, including multiple USB-A (USB-3.2 Gen2), Thunderbolt 4/USB4 Type-C, dual HDMI 2.1, dual DisplayPort 2.1, 2.5 Gb Ethernet, Wi-Fi 7 and Bluetooth 5.4.

As of right now, the pricing details of the Jean Canyon NUC 15 Performance are still at large. But the brand has confirmed the base storage configuration, which will start from 16GB of RAM and 256GB of storage. Oppo Find X9s with Dimensity 9500s in the works, here’s when it could launch

5 February 2026 at 15:20
Oppo Find X9s

Oppo is said to be working on two Find X9s-branded phones. Recent reports have revealed that the Dimensity 9500-powered Find X9s Pro may launch in China by March alongside the Find X9 Ultra and the Find N6 foldable. However, a new report claims that there is another Find X9s variant in development, featuring a different Dimensity chipset specifically aimed at global markets.

Oppo Find X9s specifications (rumored)

Oppo Find X9s Pro
Oppo Find X9s Pro

According to the report, the global Find X9s may feature a 6.3-inch AMOLED display with a 1.5K resolution and a 120Hz refresh rate. In terms of cameras, it is expected to include a triple rear setup comprising a 200-megapixel main camera and a 200-megapixel periscope telephoto lens. Interestingly, these specifications appear similar to those rumoured for China’s Find X9s Pro, which is also said to feature the same display and camera configuration.

The key difference between the two models could lie in the chipset. The global Find X9s is said to be powered by the recently launched Dimensity 9500s, which is believed to be slightly less powerful than the standard Dimensity 9500. On the other hand, the Find X9s Pro intended for the Chinese market is expected to feature the regular Dimensity 9500.

Other details about the Find X9s remain under wraps, but early speculation suggests that both models may include batteries around the 7,000mAh mark. The device is also expected to arrive in colour options such as Titanium, Orange, and Blue.

Oppo Find X9s global launch timeframe (rumored)

The report indicates that Oppo could introduce the Find X9s in Southeast Asian markets including Singapore, Malaysia, and Vietnam, with India also expected to receive the device during the second quarter of the year. It remains unclear whether the global versions of the Find X9 Ultra and the Find N6 foldable will be unveiled alongside the Find X9s, but more clarity may emerge closer to launch.

Honor-Magic-V5

Honor has confirmed that it will be present at MWC 2026, which will take place between March 2 and 6. The brand is expected to showcase its futuristic Robot phone alongside unveiling the Honor Magic V6 foldable. Ahead of the anticipated launch, the device is already securing multiple certifications. In the latest development, it has received approval from China’s 3C authority, revealing what could be the fastest charging speeds ever seen on a foldable smartphone.

Honor Magic V6 3C certified

An upcoming Honor phone carrying two model number variants, PNM-AN10 and PNM-AN20, has appeared on the 3C certification platform. The PNM-AN10 is believed to be the standard version of the Honor Magic V6, while the PNM-AN20 is said to be the Beidou edition (supporting short message service via satellite connection).

Both models reportedly support 120W fast charging, a significant milestone that could set a new benchmark for foldable devices. Reports also suggest that “PNM” may be an internal codename referring to Phenom.

Last month, batteries associated with the Magic V6 were also approved through 3C filings. Its top-end variant is expected to feature a large 7,000mAh rated dual-cell battery with a typical capacity of around 7,150mAh. The other variant may include a 6,700mAh rated battery with a typical capacity of approximately 6,850mAh.

Honor Magic V6 specifications (rumored)

The Honor Magic V6 is rumored to be powered by the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 chipset and is expected to support wireless charging. The current engineering prototype reportedly includes a 200-megapixel main camera alongside a mid-tier periscope telephoto lens offering 3x optical zoom. Additional expected features include a side-mounted fingerprint sensor, a fibreglass build with dust and water resistance, and a thinner profile compared to its predecessor.

Colour options tipped for the device include Snow White, Velvet Black, Red Hare, and Sunrise Gold. For reference, the previous generation measured around 4.1 to 4.2mm when unfolded, 8.8 to 9mm when folded, and weighed 217 / 222 grams, suggesting that the upcoming model could aim for even slimmer dimensions while improving battery capacity and charging speeds.

Vivo X300 Max vs Xiaomi 17 Max: Two mega flagships gearing up for a camera and battery showdown

5 February 2026 at 14:29
Vivo X300 and Xiaomi 17

Rumours suggest that this year more smartphone brands may adopt “Max” and “Pro Max” branding to differentiate larger, feature-packed flagship models. The Redmi Turbo 5 Max is one such example, while leaks indicate that the Xiaomi 17 Max and Vivo X300 Max are also in development, positioned in a different league with strong photography-focused capabilities. Here’s a comparison between the two based on current leaks to understand how they may compete and where each device could stand out.

Vivo X300 and Xiaomi 17
Vivo X300 and Xiaomi 17

Design, display and performance expectations

The Vivo X300 Max is rumoured to feature a 6.78-inch OLED flat display with 1.5K resolution and ultra-thin bezels, offering a balance between sharp visuals and immersive viewing. Under the hood, the device will be equipped with the Dimensity 9500, which also powers the X300 and X300 Pro.

The Xiaomi 17 Max, meanwhile, is tipped to arrive with a slightly larger flat OLED display measuring around 6.8 inches or 6.9 inches, also featuring slim bezels on all sides. Performance is expected to be driven by the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 processor, aligning it with other devices in the Xiaomi 17 series. Design-wise, the phone may follow a cleaner rear layout similar to the standard Xiaomi 17 rather than adopting experimental elements seen on higher-end variants. It will not feature a secondary rear display like the Xiaomi 17 Pro series.

The Vivo X300 Max and Xiaomi 17 Max are also expected to closely resemble the existing Vivo X300 and Xiaomi 17 designs, although the “Max” branding suggests larger dimensions compared to their standard counterparts.

Battery capacity and charging capabilities

The Xiaomi 17 Max is rumoured to include a massive 8,000mAh battery supported by 100W wired charging and 50W wireless charging, potentially placing it among the longest-lasting premium smartphones. The Vivo X300 Max, on the other hand, is expected to feature a 7,000mAh battery, which remains substantial and should deliver strong daily performance without significantly increasing device thickness.

The Vivo X300 Max will run on Android 16 with a layer of OriginOS 6 on top. On the other hand, the Xiaomi 17 Max will have HyperOS 3-based Android 16, and both devices will have an ultrasonic in-screen fingerprint sensor.

Camera hardware and launch timelines

The Vivo X300 Max is said to include a circular camera module housing a 200-megapixel main sensor, an ultrawide camera, and a mid-tier periscope telephoto lens. Xiaomi’s rival device could feature a 200-megapixel Samsung ISOCELL HPE primary camera, a 50-megapixel Sony periscope telephoto lens, and a 50-megapixel ultrawide camera, indicating an emphasis on versatile photography performance.

Launch timelines also differ slightly. The Vivo X300 Max is expected to debut in March in China alongside other X300 series models, while the Xiaomi 17 Max is rumoured to arrive in April. Global availability remains unclear for both devices, but current leaks suggest the Xiaomi 17 Max may prioritise battery capacity and charging speeds, whereas the Vivo X300 Max appears focused on balancing display quality, imaging, and overall flagship performance.

Which one do you think looks better based on the leaks so far, the Vivo X300 Max or the Xiaomi 17 Max? Share your thoughts.

Multiple Galaxy S26 Ultra country variants on Geekbench reveal Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5, no Exynos 2600 version

5 February 2026 at 14:06
Samsung Galaxy S26 Ultra promo

Multiple country variants of the Samsung Galaxy S26 Ultra have emerged on the Geekbench benchmarking platform. These listings will make many users happy, as they suggest that the S26 Ultra may come with a Snapdragon chip in all markets. On the other hand, the S26 and S26 Plus may ship with either Exynos or Snapdragon, depending on the region.

The SM-S948U is for the US, the SM-S9480 is for China, the SM-S948B is for global markets like Europe and India, and the newly spotted SM-S948N is for South Korea. These listings show that the device is powered by a Qualcomm chip, which will reportedly be marketed as the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 for Galaxy.

Meanwhile, the Galaxy S26 and Galaxy S26 Plus have also surfaced on Geekbench multiple times. While the US editions have been spotted with the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5, variants for Europe and South Korea have appeared with Samsung’s in-house Exynos 2600 SoC. It is still unclear whether the Chinese market will get Snapdragon or Exynos variants.

Samsung’s apparent return to a dual-chip strategy could indicate that the company is testing the waters with the Exynos 2600, which is the industry’s first 2nm mobile chipsets. After facing criticism in previous years over performance consistency and efficiency differences between Exynos and Snapdragon variants, Samsung opted to use Snapdragon across the entire Galaxy S25 series. Bringing Exynos back selectively may allow the company to evaluate real-world performance improvements while gradually rebuilding user confidence, especially if the new 2nm process delivers meaningful gains in power efficiency and thermal performance.

Based on recent industry reports and Samsung’s usual launch cycle, the Galaxy S26 series is expected to debut on February 25, with sales likely starting by March 11. The same event is also expected to see the arrival of the Galaxy Buds 4 and Buds 4 Pro.

Casio Pro Trek PRG-69 Series Watches Launch With New Angular Case and Triple Sensor

5 February 2026 at 12:54
Casio Pro Trek PRG-69-1

Casio has officially unveiled the new Pro Trek PRG-69 series, confirming a major design change for its digital outdoor watches. The lineup includes the PRG-69-1, PRG-69-4, and the newly introduced PRG-69B-1. These are the first digital Pro Trek models to move away from a round case, switching to a sharp, angular design inspired by the PRW-6900.

Casio Pro Trek PRG-69-1

All three models use a solid octagonal case made from flame-retardant, bio-based resin. This material is built for outdoor use and is designed to self-extinguish if exposed to sparks from campfires or cooking flames. The display is protected by a mineral crystal. Case dimensions measure 52.5 × 46.4 × 14.4 mm.

The watches feature Casio’s dual-layer Duplex LCD. The upper layer shows large, color compass graphics, while the lower layer displays the time and sensor data. This layout improves clarity when checking information outdoors. A small dot-matrix sub-display at the top shows the day, date, and barometric pressure trend, keeping the main screen clear.

Each model is equipped with Casio’s Triple Sensor system. This includes a digital compass with 16-point bearing measurement and bidirectional calibration, an altimeter that tracks elevation from minus 700 to 10,000 meters with automatic logging, a barometer with pressure tendency alerts, and a thermometer rated from minus 10°C to 60°C. The compass supports continuous measurement for up to 60 seconds. Power is supplied through Tough Solar charging, using sunlight or indoor light. Multiband 6 radio time calibration is not included.

The differences between the models are mainly visual. The PRG-69-1 comes in an all-black finish. The PRG-69-4 features a black case paired with a bright orange band. Both use soft, bio-based urethane straps. The PRG-69B-1 replaces the urethane strap with a fabric band made from recycled PET fibers and adds gold-accented compass markings on the bezel, giving it a more outdoors-focused look.

Additional features include a high-brightness full-auto LED backlight, known as Super Illuminator, and textured buttons and case surfaces designed for grip, even when wearing gloves.

The PRG-69-1 and PRG-69-4 will launch in Japan later this month, priced at ¥29,700, or about $190. Global availability is expected in March. In Europe, both models are listed for preorder at €200 with a March 20 shipping date. Pricing and availability for the PRG-69B-1 have not been confirmed, but it is expected to fall in the same range.

Vivo V70 Elite

After weeks of teasers, Vivo has officially announced the launch date for its latest V-series smartphones in India. The Vivo V70 and V70 Elite are scheduled to debut on February 19 at 12 PM local time.

The company claims that both phones will feature some of the narrowest bezels in their price segment, measuring just 1.25 mm. These bezels are extremely slim indeed, even slimmer than those of the flagship Samsung Galaxy S25 Ultra.

Vivo V70 and V70 Elite Specifications

The screen itself is said to measure 6.59 inches on both models. They will also share a 1.5K display with a pixel density of 459 ppi, support for up to a 120 Hz refresh rate, peak brightness of 5,000 nits, and 1.07 billion colors.

Under the hood, the V70 Elite will run on Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8s Gen 3 chipset, while the standard V70 will use the Snapdragon 7 Gen 4. The former ran a Geekbench benchmark, scoring 1973 points in single-core and 4863 points in the multi-core test.

Likewise, both phones are powered by a 6,500mAh cell that supports 90W wired fast charging. The phones carry IP68 and IP69 ratings for dust and water resistance.

On the camera side, the V70 series will include a Zeiss-powered 50-megapixel Sony IMX882 primary sensor with optical image stabilization, a 50-megapixel telephoto camera, and an ultrawide lens. The front camera is a 50-megapixel unit.

As for the color options, the V70 comes in Passion Red and Lemon Yellow, while the V70 Elite will be offered in Passion Red, Sand Beige, and Authentic Black.

Oppo K14 Turbo, K14 Turbo Pro launch timeframe, key specifications leaked

5 February 2026 at 12:19

Recent reports have revealed that Oppo is working on the next-generation Turbo-series of performance-centric phones for the Chinese market. While earlier reports suggested that Oppo might skip the K14 naming, new information, courtesy of tipster Digital Chat Station, indicates that the lineup could arrive as the Oppo K14 Turbo series. The latest details provide an early look at expected specifications as well as a tentative launch window.

Oppo K14 Turbo series specifications (rumored)

Oppo K14 Turbo series leak by DCS

According to DCS, the Oppo K14 Turbo lineup is expected to include two models, namely the Oppo K14 Turbo and the K14 Turbo Pro. The Pro variant is tipped to feature a 6.79-inch OLED display and could be powered by the Dimensity 9500s chipset. This means that it will compete with the Dimensity 9500s-powered Redmi Turbo 5 Max in China.

Engineering prototype units of the Pro variant are said to exist in multiple configurations such as 12GB+256GB, 12GB+512GB, and 16GB+512GB. The device may weigh around 201 grams and could arrive in colour options including white, grey, pink, and a forged carbon finish.

Previous leaks have suggested that the handset might pack a large 8,000mAh battery, reinforcing its positioning as a performance-focused smartphone.

The standard Oppo K14 Turbo, on the other hand, is expected to feature a slightly smaller 6.59-inch OLED display. While the chipset has not been officially confirmed, earlier claims indicate that it could run on the Snapdragon 8s Gen 4 SoC.

One of the major highlights of the upcoming series is said to be the inclusion of built-in cooling fans on both models, unlike the previous generation where only the Pro variant featured such hardware. The cooling system is also rumored to include waterproofing support. Both phones are expected to feature a 50-megapixel main camera on the rear.

Oppo K14 Turbo series launch timeframe (rumored)

The latest leak also suggests that the Oppo K14 Turbo lineup could debut in China around April. There’s a possibility that the series may hit the Indian market a month or two after the China launch.

OnePlus Nord 6 launch reportedly delayed again, here’s new launch timeline

5 February 2026 at 10:25
OnePlus Turbo 6

The upcoming OnePlus Nord 6 has been appearing in multiple leaks and certification databases recently, suggesting that the device is moving closer to launch. While earlier expectations pointed towards an early arrival, fresh information now hints that the timeline may have shifted slightly. New reports have also added more clarity about the phone’s hardware and potential positioning within the Nord lineup.

OnePlus Nord 6 launch timeline reportedly shifted

OnePlus Turbo 6
OnePlus Turbo 6

According to tipster Yogesh Brar, the OnePlus Nord 6 may now debut in April instead of the previously rumoured February or March timeframe. Although OnePlus has not officially acknowledged the device yet, several certifications across regions such as Malaysia, the UAE, and Europe indicate that the phone is progressing through regulatory stages ahead of a global rollout.

He also added that there is currently no confirmed information about a Nord CE 6, leaving uncertainty about whether a companion model will arrive alongside the Nord 6. Apart from certifications, the device was recently spotted on Geekbench equipped with Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8s Gen 4 chipset paired with 12GB RAM and Android 16.

OnePlus Nord 6 specifications (expected)

Leaks suggest that the Nord 6 may be based on the OnePlus Turbo 6 launched in China, potentially making it one of the brand’s most performance-focused Nord models yet. If accurate, the handset could include a massive 9,000mAh battery with support for 80W wired charging and reverse charging capabilities. The display is expected to be a 6.78-inch or larger AMOLED panel offering 1.5K resolution and up to a 165Hz refresh rate.

Camera details point towards a 50-megapixel primary sensor paired with a secondary rear lens, alongside a 16-megapixel front camera for selfies. Additional features may include stereo speakers, an in-display fingerprint scanner, improved haptic feedback through an X-axis motor, and an IP68 or IP69-rated design.

While an April launch sounds like a delay, it is still earlier than the OnePlus Nord 5, which was announced in July last year. To put into context, the previous generation features a 6.83-inch OLED 1.5K 144Hz screen, a Snapdragon 8s Gen 3 chip, a 6,800mAh battery with 80W charging, and a 50-megapixel + 8-megapixel dual-camera setup.

Major shake-up at Realme? Layoffs reportedly start as Oppo takes control

5 February 2026 at 09:40
Realme logo

It was reported in January that Oppo was restructuring its internal brand hierarchy, positioning Realme and OnePlus as sub-brands under a unified ecosystem. Now, a new report by 91mobiles Hindi claims that this transition is beginning to show real-world impact in India, with layoffs reportedly starting across parts of Realme’s sales network.

Layoffs reported as Oppo integration progresses

Realme logo

According to information sourced through retail channels and employees, Realme has reportedly started layoffs within its Indian sales operations. Area sales managers, ground staff, and retail-focused employees are said to be among those impacted as the company looks to reduce operational costs and streamline internal functions.

Sources from Gujarat first highlighted the issue, after which confirmations reportedly came from Delhi, Haryana, Punjab, and other regions. Some employees claim they have been asked to submit resignations, with timelines suggesting their roles could end by April 30 as part of cost-cutting efforts. The restructuring appears to follow earlier reports that Realme will move back under Oppo’s organizational structure as a sub-brand.

This shift means that several operational functions such as marketing, service networks, and distribution could increasingly align with Oppo’s existing infrastructure. As a result, overlapping roles within Realme may no longer be required, which could explain the reported workforce reductions.

What the new brand structure means for Realme

Last month’s report revealed that Oppo will function as the main brand in China, while Realme and OnePlus operate as supporting sub-brands within a unified ecosystem. Despite organizational changes, Realme’s product launches are expected to continue without disruption. Under the new change, Oppo’s online store is now selling Realme devices apart from the usual Oppo and OnePlus phones.

Realme hasn’t commented yet on the new development, similar to how OnePlus released an official statement when shutdown rumors about it emerged.

Xiaomi HyperOS 4 to adopt self-developed architecture while retaining native Android services

5 February 2026 at 09:29
Xiaomi-HyperOS-4-self-developed-architecture

Xiaomi is moving closer to a more independent software stack with its upcoming HyperOS 4, as new reports suggest the company is gradually removing legacy MIUI-era code and replacing parts of the system with its own architecture.

According to a leak by well-known tipster Digital Chat Station, Xiaomi’s next-generation system could replace parts of the underlying framework with a native, self-developed one.

The company is also expected to integrate its own AI model at the system level. For now, though, native Android services are likely to remain in place to avoid app compatibility issues.

The shift is not surprising. Xiaomi itself confirmed in January its aim to achieve “grand convergence” in 2026 with a self-developed chip, operating system, and large AI models on a single device. As you might know, Xiaomi’s XRING O1 chip, introduced in 2025, is the first step of this transition.

Behind the scenes, Xiaomi is already preparing for that transition. Reports from Xiaomitime claim that some system modules in HyperOS 3.1, including the Weather and Photo Album apps, have begun removing MIUI-era SDK components. HyperOS 4, expected to launch in August, could be the first version described as a “zero legacy” release.

Xiaomi is also experimenting with rewriting core system apps using Google’s Flutter framework and the Rust programming language. The company could be moving toward a more modular system architecture, where components can be updated or replaced more easily.

For now, HyperOS 3.1 is said to act as a transitional release. It introduces a native HyperOS SDK while still keeping the older MIUI SDK in place to maintain stability and compatibility.

The Pova Curve 2 adopts Tecno’s new “Design 2.0” language, introducing visible changes over its predecessor. It features a triangular camera island inspired by spacecraft engineering, replacing the earlier vertical camera layout. The rear panel has a curved form with angular detailing and a matte finish, giving it a distinctive yet modern appearance.

Tecno has also focused on ergonomics with rounded double curves for a more comfortable grip, while keeping the chassis slim despite a strong focus on battery life. The phone will be offered in black, silver, and violet shades with semi-transparent accents.

Although the complete specifications remain under wraps, early reports suggest the smartphone may be powered by a MediaTek Dimensity 7100 chipset and could offer up to 12GB of RAM, along with Android 16.

Rumors also suggest that it will pack a massive 8,000mAh battery and feature a 144Hz curved-edge AMOLED panel. Tecno has highlighted intelligent connectivity as another key aspect, aiming to maintain stable network performance even in challenging signal conditions.

The Pova Curve 2 appears to target users who prioritize long-lasting battery life and consistent performance but prefer a sleek and stylish device rather than a bulky, rugged design. More detailed specifications and pricing information are likely to be revealed closer to the official launch event.

Samsung Galaxy S26 series price leak shows dramatic hike across all models

5 February 2026 at 08:24
Galaxy S26 Ultra in Black

Samsung’s Galaxy S26 series is just a few weeks away from its official release. Ahead of it, a new report suggests that most models in the upcoming lineup will launch at higher prices than last year in Europe.

A fresh report from Dealabs claims that every model in the series, including the Galaxy S26, S26 Plus, and S26 Ultra, will see a price hike.

Galaxy S26 and S26 Plus Expected Price

According to the leak, the standard Galaxy S26 with 256GB of storage could start at EUR 999—a jump from the Galaxy S25’s launch price of EUR 959. The increase isn’t dramatic on its own, but it adds to the sense that Samsung’s baseline flagship is slowly inching closer to four-figure pricing across the board.

Samsung Galaxy S26 Plus CAD renders
Samsung Galaxy S26 Plus CAD render by AndroidHeadlines / OnLeaks

The Galaxy S26 Plus’ 256GB variant is reportedly priced at EUR 1,269, up from EUR 1,169 last year. Higher storage options could also see increases. The Galaxy S26 with 512GB of storage is tipped to cost EUR 1,199, while the 512GB Galaxy S26+ could reach EUR 1,469.

Galaxy S26 Ultra Expected Price

As for the S26 Ultra, the base 256GB version is expected to stick to the same EUR 1,469 price as the Galaxy S25 Ultra. However, higher storage variants are said to be more expensive.

The 512GB Ultra could rise to EUR 1,669, while a 1TB version may cost as much as EUR 1,969. The report also claims Samsung may drop the 128GB storage option entirely for the Galaxy S26 and S26+ in Europe.

Galaxy S26 Ultra in Black
Galaxy S26 Ultra in Black

As for why prices are going up, higher component costs are the most likely explanation. Chips, memory, and other key parts haven’t exactly become cheaper, and Samsung isn’t immune to that pressure.

That said, Dealabs notes that the extreme price hikes seen in earlier regional leaks, such as those from Bulgaria, are unlikely to apply across the wider Eurozone. Pre-order bonuses and carrier deals could also soften the blow for early buyers.

Vivo V70 Elite

Vivo is expected to unveil the Vivo V70 and Vivo V70 Elite later this month in India. The official landing pages on Vivo India’s website, Flipkart, and Amazon currently place greater emphasis on the Elite variant, offering early insights into its positioning. In the latest development, the Vivo V70 Elite has now appeared on Geekbench, revealing key details related to its performance ahead of the official announcement.

Vivo V70 Elite Geekbench listing

The Geekbench database lists the Vivo V70 Elite with the model number V2548. As per the listing, the device is powered by the Snapdragon 8s Gen 3 chipset, paired with an octa-core CPU configuration comprising three performance cores clocked at 2.02GHz, four cores running at 2.80GHz, and a prime core operating at up to 3.01GHz. Graphics duties are handled by the Adreno 735 GPU. The benchmark entry also confirms 12GB of RAM and Android 16 out of the box.

In terms of scores, the handset recorded 1,973 points in the single-core test and 4,863 points in the multi-core test. These results are in line with what is typically expected from the Snapdragon 8s Gen 3 platform and indicate consistent flagship-level performance.

The inclusion of this chipset is not a surprise, as Vivo has already confirmed the processor through its official microsite. In fact, the V70 Elite will be the company’s first V-series phone to feature a Snapdragon 8-series chip.

The standard Vivo V70 has also been spotted on Geekbench recently. While Vivo has not officially revealed its chipset, the benchmark listing suggested that it will feature the Snapdragon 7 Gen 4 processor, the same chip that also powered the Vivo V60.

Vivo V70 Elite specifications (expected)

Oppo Find N6 surfaces on NBTC certification, race for first Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 foldable intensifies

4 February 2026 at 20:09
Oppo Find N5

Oppo is expected to launch its next-generation book-style foldable, the Oppo Find N6, in China soon. Rumours indicate that the device could break cover in March, with its global debut said to follow closely after the China launch. In the latest development, the foldable has secured a key regulatory approval in Thailand, hinting that its international rollout is gathering pace.

Oppo Find N6 receives NBTC approval in Thailand

Oppo Find N6 NBTC listing

The Oppo Find N6 has been certified by Thailand’s National Broadcasting and Telecommunication Commission under the model number CPH2765. As with most NBTC entries, no hardware specifications are disclosed, but the approval confirms Thailand as another confirmed market for the foldable.

This development follows earlier sightings on other regulatory platforms. A TUV listing had previously revealed support for 80W fast charging, while certification in Singapore pointed to eSIM functionality alongside standard connectivity features. The Find N6 has also appeared on UAE databases, suggesting Oppo is lining up a staggered global rollout shortly after the China launch expected in March.

Oppo Find N6 specifications (rumored)

Leaks suggest the Oppo Find N6 will feature a 6.62-inch cover display with a 20-megapixel front-facing camera. On the inside, it will feature an 8.12-inch foldable LTPO OLED inner screen with a 2K resolution and ultra-thin glass protection. The internal screen is also said to have a 20-megapixel selfie camera. The phone is tipped to arrive with up to 16GB RAM and storage options going up to 1TB.

In terms of cameras, the foldable is expected to include a triple rear setup comprising two 50-megapixel sensors and a 200-megapixel camera, along with a multispectral sensor. A 6,000mAh battery with wireless charging, satellite connectivity and AI stylus support are also being discussed. The Find N6 is likely to launch in Deep Black, Golden Orange and Original Titanium colour options.

The Oppo Find N6 and Honor Magic V6 are both said to feature the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 chipset. Reports have claimed that the N6 will be the world’s first Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5-powered foldable phone, but Honor has already confirmed that the Magic V6 will be showcased at the MWC 2026 event, which will be held between March 2 and March 5. It remains to be seen which brand will ultimately claim the first-mover advantage when these next-generation foldables make their official debut.

Samsung Galaxy Watch 8 vs Watch 7: Same Look, Different Features

4 February 2026 at 19:01
galaxy watch 8 vs 7

Choosing between the Samsung Galaxy Watch 8 and Samsung Galaxy Watch 7 isn’t about old versus new, it’s about refinement versus value. Both smartwatches look nearly identical on the surface and share the same powerful chipset, yet Samsung has quietly tweaked brightness, health tracking, and software longevity in ways that matter over time. For buyers upgrading from an older Galaxy Watch or entering Samsung’s ecosystem for the first time, these subtle differences can influence daily comfort, outdoor visibility, and long-term usability. This comparison breaks down where the Watch 8 genuinely improves and where the Watch 7 still makes a strong case as the better-value choice.

Design and Display

Build & Comfort

Both the Samsung Galaxy Watch 8 and Samsung Galaxy Watch 7 follow Samsung’s familiar circular design with an Armor Aluminum 2 frame and sapphire crystal protection. The Watch 8 is noticeably slimmer at 8.6mm, which makes it feel sleeker on the wrist and easier to wear all day, especially during sleep tracking. Weight differences are minor, but the thinner profile subtly improves comfort during long workdays or workouts. Both watches retain MIL-STD-810H durability and 5ATM water resistance, keeping them reliable for daily use and outdoor activities.

Display Brightness & Visibility

The Watch 8 clearly pulls ahead with a peak brightness of 3000 nits versus 2000 nits on the Watch 7. This makes a visible difference outdoors, especially during runs or cycling under harsh sunlight. Resolution remains identical, so sharpness is equally excellent on both, but the extra brightness gives the newer model a more premium, modern feel.

Verdict

Design changes are evolutionary, but the slimmer body and brighter display give the Watch 8 a subtle edge that power users will appreciate.

Health and Fitness Tracking

Sensors & Tracking Accuracy

Samsung equips both watches with its BioActive sensor suite, covering heart rate, SpO₂, ECG, blood pressure, skin temperature, and advanced sleep tracking. The Watch 8 adds an antioxidant index sensor, expanding its health-focused appeal and pushing deeper into wellness insights rather than just fitness metrics. Day-to-day accuracy remains consistent across both models, with reliable heart rate tracking and stable sleep stage detection.

Workout Modes

Both watches support a wide range of workout modes, from strength training to outdoor running with dual-frequency GPS (L1+L5). Auto-workout detection is fast and dependable on each, but the Watch 8 feels slightly more refined in presenting post-workout insights, especially for recovery and overall health trends. This feels less like a sports upgrade and more like a lifestyle wellness evolution.

Verdict

The Watch 7 still delivers excellent health tracking, but the Watch 8’s added sensor and refined insights make it better suited for users focused on long-term wellness monitoring.

Performance and Software

UI Smoothness

Both watches run on the same Exynos W1000 (3nm) chipset with 2GB RAM, resulting in equally smooth animations and fast app launches. Scrolling through tiles, notifications, and workouts feels fluid on both models, with no meaningful performance gap in everyday use. The hardware clearly isn’t a limiting factor for either watch.

App Support & Features

The key difference lies in the software. The Watch 8 ships with Wear OS 6 and One UI 8 Watch out of the box, bringing newer UI refinements and longer future update support. The Watch 7 runs Wear OS 5 but is upgradeable, meaning it won’t be left behind. Still, starting on a newer platform gives the Watch 8 a longer runway, which matters for buyers planning to keep their smartwatch for several years.

Verdict

Performance is effectively a tie, but the Watch 8 gains a long-term advantage by launching with the latest software and ecosystem support.

Battery and Connectivity

Battery Life

The Watch 8 packs a slightly larger 435mAh battery compared to the 425mAh unit in the Watch 7. In real-world use, both comfortably last a full day with health tracking and notifications enabled. The Watch 8 squeezes out a bit more endurance, particularly with heavy outdoor use, thanks to software optimizations. Charging speeds remain identical at 10W wireless, so top-ups feel equally convenient.

GPS, Bluetooth, LTE

Connectivity is identical across both models, including dual-band GPS (L1+L5), Bluetooth 5.3, Wi-Fi, NFC, and optional eSIM support. Location tracking is accurate and quick to lock, making both watches reliable for outdoor workouts and navigation without a phone.

Verdict

Battery and connectivity improvements are modest, but the Watch 8’s slightly better endurance adds polish rather than a dramatic leap.

Pricing

With an approximate price of $260 / ₹38,000, the Watch 8 clearly sits in a higher tier than the Watch 7 at $200 / ₹25,000. The price gap is significant, especially considering how similar the core experience remains. Buyers are essentially paying for a brighter display, slimmer design, a new health sensor, and longer software longevity.

For value-focused users, the Watch 7 remains a compelling deal.

Disclaimer:
Prices are approximate and may vary based on country, region, and applicable taxes.

Conclusion

Best For Whom

The Watch 8 is best for users who want the latest Samsung smartwatch experience, value display visibility outdoors, and care about emerging health metrics. The Watch 7 is ideal for buyers who want nearly the same performance and tracking at a far more accessible price.

Final Verdict

The Samsung Galaxy Watch 8 is the more refined and future-ready smartwatch, but the Galaxy Watch 7 remains the smarter buy for most users who prioritize value over incremental upgrades.

OPPO ColorOS January 2026 Q&A: Camera Lag Fix Coming, Battery Drain After Updates Explained

4 February 2026 at 17:57
ColorOS Q&A (January 2026)

OPPO has launched a monthly Q&A series in its Community forum to address user concerns about ColorOS more directly. The first edition tackles performance issues, battery behavior, and feature questions.

ColorOS Q&A (January 2026)

Camera Lag Fix in Progress

The company confirmed that engineers have identified the cause of camera lag affecting some models. A fix is in development, though no release date was provided.

Battery Drain After Updates Explained

Battery drain following system updates was explained as a normal occurrence. After installing a new ColorOS version, the system runs background processes, including app optimization, photo organization, and security scans for approximately three days. This causes higher CPU usage, increased heat, and faster battery consumption. Devices with heavy usage or large app libraries may require more time. OPPO recommends overnight charging with the screen off to accelerate optimization, closing power-hungry apps, and updating all applications.

New Features and Improvements

The Q&A detailed several practical features. Users can reply to calls via SMS by navigating to Contacts > Settings > Answer or End calls, then enabling Reply with SMS. Messages are customizable. The AI Enhance feature works through the Notes app by tapping the plus icon, scanning documents, and selecting AI Enhance.

ColorOS Q&A (January 2026)

Private Safe functionality has been upgraded. Users can now search for private images, videos, audio, documents, and other files directly within Private Safe. Files stored there can be shared by selecting the item and using the Share option.

Monthly Format Moving Forward

OPPO plans to continue this monthly format and is collecting user feedback and questions. The initiative marks a shift from lengthy announcements and fragmented forum responses toward consolidated, transparent communication. By addressing common concerns systematically, the company aims to improve user experience and reduce confusion around ColorOS updates and features.

OnePlus 15 vs Realme GT 8 Pro: Same Chip, Very Different Flagship Experience

4 February 2026 at 17:39
oneplus vs realme

When two Android flagships share the same cutting-edge chipset, the real battle shifts from raw power to how that power is used. The OnePlus 15 and Realme GT 8 Pro both promise elite performance, fast charging, and serious camera hardware, but they approach the flagship formula very differently. One aims for refinement, balance, and long-term comfort, while the other leans into bold specs, sharper visuals, and aggressive pricing. This comparison breaks down where each phone truly excels and, more importantly, which one actually makes more sense to buy once the spec sheets stop looking impressive and daily use begins.

Design and Display

Build and Feel

OnePlus 15 uses a glass front with Gorilla Glass Victus 2, an aluminum alloy frame, and premium glass or fiber-reinforced back options. These materials give it a more polished and flagship-typical feel, focused on durability and long-term comfort rather than visual drama. The overall design language feels restrained and premium.

Realme GT 8 Pro combines Gorilla Glass 7i on the front with an aluminum frame and eco-leather or polymer back options. This approach adds texture and personality, making the phone feel more expressive and bold. It prioritizes visual identity over subtlety.

Display Quality

OnePlus features an LTPO AMOLED panel with a 165Hz refresh rate and Dolby Vision support. This allows the refresh rate to adapt dynamically, making scrolling smoother while improving efficiency, which feels more comfortable during extended use.

Realme offers a higher-resolution AMOLED display with a 144Hz refresh rate and extremely high peak brightness. This results in sharper visuals and stronger visual impact, especially for videos and HDR content.

Verdict

OnePlus focuses on refinement and balance; Realme focuses on sharpness and visual intensity.

Specifications

Performance

Both phones use the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 (3nm) chipset paired with Adreno 840 GPU and UFS 4.1 storage. This ensures identical flagship-level speed, fast app launches, and smooth gaming performance.

OnePlus runs OxygenOS 16, which emphasizes stable scheduling and controlled performance behavior, making extended usage feel more consistent. Realme UI 7.0 is tuned more aggressively, delivering fast responses but with a slightly more performance-forward feel.

Battery and Charging

OnePlus includes a 7300mAh silicon-carbon battery with 120W wired, 50W wireless, and extensive charging protocol support. This combination provides both endurance and flexibility, especially for heavy users.

Realme uses a 7000mAh silicon-carbon battery with 120W wired and 50W wireless charging, offering fast top-ups but slightly less capacity and protocol versatility.

Verdict

Performance is equal, but OnePlus clearly leads in battery capacity and charging flexibility.

Camera

Main and Secondary Lenses

OnePlus uses a 50MP triple-camera system with a periscope telephoto and ultrawide lens, supported by OIS, laser focus, Dolby Vision video, and LUT recording. This setup prioritizes consistency across photo and video, making results reliable in varied conditions.

Realme features a 200MP periscope telephoto camera alongside a 50MP main and ultrawide sensor. The high-resolution telephoto enables stronger zoom detail and cropping flexibility, appealing to users who want more dramatic photography options.

Selfie Camera

Both phones include a 32MP front camera with 4K video support. OnePlus adds autofocus and more stable video behavior, while Realme emphasizes clarity and contrast in stills.

Verdict

OnePlus wins for consistency and video tools; Realme excels in zoom hardware and camera experimentation.

Pricing

OnePlus 15 is priced at $900 / ₹80,000, placing it firmly in the ultra-premium flagship segment. The Realme GT 8 Pro costs $700 / ₹73,000, making it noticeably cheaper.

OnePlus justifies its higher price with a larger battery, broader charging standards, refined software, and a more balanced camera system. These additions contribute to long-term usability rather than short-term excitement.

Realme delivers excellent core specs for less money, but the savings come with fewer refinements rather than missing performance.

Verdict

Realme is cheaper, but OnePlus better justifies its higher price.

Disclaimer:
Prices are approximate and may vary based on country, region, and applicable taxes.

Conclusion

OnePlus stands out with its LTPO AMOLED display, larger silicon-carbon battery, extensive fast-charging support, and video-focused camera tools like Dolby Vision and LUTs. These features collectively enhance daily usability and long-term comfort.
Realme differentiates itself with a higher-resolution display, 200MP periscope camera, and bold design options, making it feel more spec-driven and visually striking.

Final Verdict

OnePlus 15 is the better overall smartphone. It offers superior refinement, stronger battery confidence, more versatile charging, and more reliable cameras. Realme GT 8 Pro makes sense only if saving money and having bold hardware features matter more than polish. For a long-term flagship experience, OnePlus is the more sensible choice.

Samsung is gearing up for a packed 2026 product cycle, with multiple flagship launches slated across the year. While the company hasn’t officially confirmed dates yet, a recent tweet has offered us a full roadmap of all the big 2026 announcements. So let’s check it out.

Early 2026: Samsung’s Galaxy Unpack 2026

The first major date in Samsung’s 2026 calendar looks to be 25th February 2026, which is when the Galaxy Unpacked event will take place. This will have the South Korean tech giant unveil its highly anticipated Galaxy S26 lineup, consisting of the Galaxy S26, Galaxy S26+, and Galaxy S26 Ultra.

While it is unclear if the brand will announce other products during the event, February could likely include the Galaxy Buds 4 and Galaxy Buds 4 Pro launches as Samsung’s flagship TWS, along with the new Galaxy Book 6 series that should be powered by the next-gen processors.

Samsung’s second big event of 2026 is expected around July. The company is expected to unveil its latest foldable devices, like the Galaxy Z Fold 8, Galaxy Z Flip 8, and potentially a Galaxy Z Flip 8 FE model. This would continue its strategy of refreshing both premium and affordable foldables.

Alongside these, Samsung could also roll out updates to its new Galaxy Watch lineup that may include the top end Galaxy Watch Ultra 2 and the Galaxy Watch 9 series. Apart from this, the tip from Jason C. on X (formerly Twitter) also points to the Galaxy Tab S12 series debuting in the middle of the year. Keep in mind that this is still just an unconfirmed report, so take this news with a pinch of salt for now.

The telephoto camera may offer continuous zoom, like the Xiaomi 17 Ultra. This is in line with our previous report. Vivo will reportedly equip the X300 Ultra with Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 flagship chip. The power bank uses five automotive-grade 21700 lithium-ion cells to achieve a total energy rating of 90Wh. It delivers enough power to charge multiple smartphones and can support laptops during travel or mobile work. The total output reaches 200W, which puts it ahead of many standard portable chargers.

Baseus includes a retractable USB-C cable that supports up to 140W output. The second cable is a detachable USB-C charging cable that also functions as a carrying strap. The device supports four outputs in total: one USB-A port and three USB-C outputs, including the two cable connections. It can handle multiple output scenarios, such as 100W + 100W dual-laptop charging or 140W + 22.5W mixed output for laptops and accessories.

The GR11 supports a wide range of fast-charging protocols. It is compatible with PD 3.1, PPS, UFCS, QC 3.0, and proprietary charging standards from Apple, Samsung, Xiaomi, Huawei, Honor, Oppo, and Vivo. The power bank delivers 33W to the Huawei Mate 80 Pro and 45W to the Vivo X200 Pro. It also supports other devices, including tablets, handheld consoles, drones, and cameras.

Baseus equips the GR11 with 140W self-charging support. When connected to a compatible charger, the device recharges from 0 to 100% in approximately 1 hour and 45 minutes. It also features a built-in digital display that shows battery percentage, power input or output, and estimated remaining charge or discharge time.

To manage heat during high loads, the power bank uses a triple-layer cooling system. It combines aerospace-grade graphene, aerogel insulation, and AI-powered temperature regulation. The chassis is made from flame-retardant V0-grade material and includes silicone anti-slip pads for added stability.

In related news, Baseus recently launched the 245W Nomos NH21 6-in-1 GaN charging station featuring retractable cables and Qi2 wireless charging support.
