Xiaomi CEO Lei Jun has warned that smartphones could become even more expensive in the coming years as memory chip prices continue to rise across the industry.

Speaking during the launch event of the Xiaomi 17 Max, Lei Jun said users who regularly upgrade their phones every year may want to consider buying sooner rather than later. According to him, the ongoing rise in component costs could push smartphone prices higher in the future.

After the launch event, Lei Jun told media outlets that Xiaomi was among the first smartphone brands to publicly warn about rising memory prices last year. He said the cost of memory chips is expected to continue increasing for at least the next two years, putting additional pressure on the smartphone industry.

The executive explained that rising storage and memory prices are already affecting production costs for smartphones and other consumer electronics products. Despite this, Xiaomi says it is trying to reduce the impact on customers by improving supply chain efficiency and making internal technological optimizations.

Lei Jun said the company is working to absorb some of the additional costs instead of directly passing them on to buyers. However, he also suggested that keeping prices stable may become more difficult if memory costs continue climbing at the current pace.

Lu Weibing, president of Xiaomi Group, recently shared a similar view during a public livestream. He predicted that several premium flagship smartphones from Chinese brands could officially cross the 10,000 yuan (~ $1470) mark by the end of this year.

Lu Weibing also claimed that the current round of memory price increases may continue until at least the end of 2027, with the possibility of the trend extending into 2028. According to him, the pressure on key upstream components is unlikely to ease in the short term.

The smartphone market is already starting to feel the effects. Since March this year, many smartphone models in China have reportedly seen price increases ranging between 200 and 400 yuan due to higher component costs.

Samsung could end up increasing prices for some versions of the upcoming Galaxy Z Fold 8 and Galaxy Z Flip 8 as production costs continue rising across the industry.

According to a recent report from Korean outlet Newspim, Samsung has been dealing with higher chipset and memory prices ahead of the next foldable launch cycle. The company is reportedly trying to keep the starting prices unchanged, but the higher storage variants may not be so lucky this time.

Right now, the expectation is that the base storage versions could launch at roughly the same prices as the current generation. The 512GB and 1TB models, however, are expected to cost more. Samsung has already been leaning in this direction recently, where the more expensive storage tiers quietly absorb most of the price increases.

The timing is not exactly surprising. DRAM prices have been climbing again, and AI demand has been putting extra pressure on the semiconductor market in general.

As for the actual hardware, early leaks suggest the Fold 8 series may focus more on refinement than major changes. Reports so far point to fairly iterative upgrades, and some rumors even claim the crease reduction may not improve dramatically compared to the previous generation.

There are also whispers that S Pen support and Samsung’s newer Privacy Display tech could remain absent, possibly as part of broader cost-control decisions.

Samsung is still expected to unveil the new foldables sometime around late July, possibly during an Unpacked event in London. If the current pricing estimates are accurate, the base Fold 8 could still remain around the familiar $1999 range, while the higher-end versions may move even deeper into ultra-premium territory. The Flip 8 lineup could also see smaller increases depending on storage configuration.

Samsung still dominates the foldable market globally, but the competition is getting stronger every year, especially from Chinese brands pushing thinner designs and larger batteries. At the same time, Apple’s foldable ambitions continue to hang over the industry, even if the company still has not launched anything yet.

For Samsung, the challenge now is probably less about proving foldables work and more about convincing buyers that the next upgrades are worth paying even more for.

Samsung Display is still widely considered one of the best OLED manufacturers in the industry and even supplies panels for companies like Apple.

As scheduled, Realme today announced the new Realme 16T 5G in India. The highlight of the phone is its massive 8,000mAh battery, which the brand claims can deliver up to three days of usage on a single charge.

Realme has also added a 5,300mm² vapor chamber cooling system to keep thermals in check.

Ugreen has introduced a new 45W USB-C GaN fast charger with a built-in display in China. Officially called the Ugreen 45W USB-C GaN Fast Charger, the accessory is priced at 119 yuan (~$18) and will go on sale for the first time on May 26.

Probably, the main draw of the new charger is its design. It features a small display on the front bevel that shows real-time charging information, including power output, voltage, current, charging protocol, and temperature. 

The charger can also recognize certain Apple devices and display the device model directly on the screen. Ugreen has additionally added support for custom emojis.

According to the company, the screen uses a 45-degree angled design for easier viewing when plugged into a desk socket. 

The charger comes in a silver finish all around except the base. The latter is accented in red and houses foldable prongs for portability.

Inside, the charger uses GaN technology, which allows it to remain compact while still delivering up to 45W charging speeds. Ugreen says the charger can maintain full-speed charging without reducing power output.

For heat management, the charger combines a GaN chip with graphene-based cooling materials and potting technology to improve heat dissipation and keep temperatures lower during charging sessions.

The charger supports multiple power outputs, including 5V/3A, 9V/3A, 12V/3A, 15V/3A, and 20V/2.25A, with a maximum output of 45W. It supports 100-240V input, making it suitable for travel in different regions.

Anker Audio-Visual is introducing a pretty unusual new accessory for its Nebula projector lineup. Called Nebula SpaceFlow, the device is designed to bring simplified 3D projection mapping to regular home users without the complicated setup that these systems usually require.

The accessory was announced on May 21 and is made specifically for the Nebula X1 and X1 Pro projectors. In simple terms, SpaceFlow scans the room, understands the shape of walls and objects around it, and then adjusts projected visuals so they fit naturally into the space.

The hardware itself uses a dual-camera system along with a ToF depth sensor and structured light emitter, which sounds somewhat similar to the type of sensing systems older devices like Microsoft’s Kinect used. Once connected, the accessory automatically scans the room and creates a rough 3D model of the environment. It can reportedly recognize things like doors, windows, furniture, and other obstacles before adjusting the projection accordingly.

What makes the setup more interesting is the AI integration. Through the Nebula Connect app, users can simply describe a scene they want, and the system generates visuals designed to match the room layout. Anker says users can create things like jungle-style environments, themed decorations, or animated wall effects without manually editing projection maps.

There is also a library of over 100 ready-to-use templates for holidays and events, alongside modes like AI Fusion and Free Mode for custom scenes.

Projection mapping used to require expensive software, careful calibration, and a lot of manual work, so SpaceFlow seems aimed at making the process much more approachable for casual users. Whether it actually works smoothly in everyday environments is something reviewers will probably test pretty quickly.

Pricing:

The pricing is also a bit more aggressive than expected. Anker says the Nebula SpaceFlow accessory will normally cost $799, but it is launching at a discounted $399 price for early buyers. It is being sold alongside the Nebula X1 series projectors, which are positioned as high-end 4K triple-laser home theater models with brightness reaching up to 3500 ANSI lumens.

This is probably one of the more experimental projector accessories announced recently, but it does show where companies are trying to take home entertainment next.

The Oppo Find X10 series has been rumored to be in the works with three models: the Find X10, X10 Pro, and X10 Pro Max. But a new report from tipster Digital Chat Station suggests Oppo is changing its plans.

According to the leak, the company could be delaying the Find X10 Pro Max, and there is even a chance that the model may be canceled altogether.

Meanwhile, the same tipster says the engineering sample of the Find X10 Ultra is currently being tested with a 3x periscope camera. More interestingly, the company is reportedly comparing two sensor options for this camera: a 200-megapixel 1/1.2-inch sensor and a 200-megapixel 1/1.28-inch sensor.

On paper, the 1/1.2-inch sensor should be the better choice. That is because a larger sensor usually captures more light, and it may also help deliver better background separation and stronger overall image quality. The 1/1.28-inch sensor is still very large, though, so the final result may depend on Oppo’s tuning, lens quality, and image processing.

The tipster had also previously said Oppo is testing a 200-megapixel 1/1.12-inch main camera sensor with LOFIC support for the Find X10 Ultra.

What we know about Find X10 Pro Max

While Oppo could be changing plans, rumors had already spilled key details about the Find X10 Pro Max. It was rumored to feature a 200MP main camera with a 1/1.3-inch sensor, a 200MP periscope telephoto camera using a 1/1.28-inch sensor, and even ultra-wide options ranging from a 200MP sensor (1/1.56-inch) to a smaller 50MP unit. 

Display testing was also reportedly ongoing, with two variants under consideration: a 6.89-inch 2K LTPO flat display and a slightly smaller 6.78-inch 1.5K LTPO panel.

Under the hood, the series is expected to run on next-generation chips from MediaTek, including a rumored Dimensity 9600 Pro built on a 2nm process, while the standard models may use the Dimensity 9600 and Dimensity 9500 Plus.

This is the second time Motorola has announced the Android 17 beta program for the Razr 70 Ultra. It initially happened earlier last month, but the official post on the community forum was quickly taken down because the device had not been launched then. The original Razr Fold, announced earlier this year, has also joined the beta program.

Nuu Mobile has launched a new budget smartphone in the US, and it comes with a feature that is still pretty uncommon even on more expensive phones: a secondary rear display.

The new Nuu B40 5G includes a rectangular 1.6-inch AMOLED “Vista Display” built directly into the camera module on the back. It has a resolution of 460 x 228 pixels and can reach up to 500 nits of peak brightness, which should be decent enough for outdoor visibility. It can show things like the time, charging status, message notifications, music controls, and step tracking without needing to wake the main display.

It can also work as a viewfinder for the rear cameras, which should make selfies with the main camera a bit easier. That is something we usually only see on much pricier foldables or niche flagship phones.

The rest of the phone is fairly solid for the price too. On the front, the B40 5G features a 6.7-inch curved AMOLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate and Full HD+ resolution. Nuu says the panel can reach up to 1100 nits peak brightness, which should help a bit with outdoor visibility.

For cameras, the phone uses a 64MP main sensor alongside a smaller 2MP macro camera, while the front houses a 16MP selfie shooter.

Powering the device is the MediaTek Dimensity 7025 processor paired with 8GB RAM and 256GB storage. The phone also ships with Android 15 out of the box, which is still not something you always get in the budget segment.

Battery capacity comes in at 5000mAh, with support for 33W wired charging. Other features include an in-display fingerprint scanner, Bluetooth 5.2, dual-SIM support, and 5G connectivity.

The Nuu B40 5G is priced at $249.99 in the US (roughly ₹23,900 or 1,694 yuan at the current exchange rate), although some launch promotions reportedly bring it closer to the $199 mark.

At this price point, the phone is obviously not trying to compete with premium handsets in raw performance or camera quality. But the rear AMOLED display definitely gives it a bit more personality than most budget phones.

Apple introduced sleep apnea detection on the Watch Series 10 in 2024. Meanwhile, the Cupertino-based tech giant also introduced a clinical-grade hearing test feature on the AirPods in the same year. Now, these features are now rolling out in India, expanding the company’s suite of health-monitoring tools.

Apple starts rolling out two health tracking features in India

Sleep apnea currently works on the Apple Watch Series 9, Series 10, Watch SE (3rd Gen), Apple Watch Ultra 2, and Ultra 3. It is a sleep disorder where your breathing repeatedly stops and starts while you sleep. Compatible Apple Watch models utilize the accelerometer to monitor small wrist movements linked to irregular breathing patterns. It then analyses the data over 30 days and alerts users if it detects moderate to severe conditions. The data is logged in the iPhone’s Health App, and users can generate a PDF report of it.

Meanwhile, the hearing test feature is rolling out for the AirPods Pro 2 and AirPods Pro 3. It allows users to take a clinically validated hearing test using the earphones and a compatible iPhone or iPad. The feature provides a numerical representation of hearing loss and actionable insights. So you can do the hearing test at home instead of visiting a doctor or an audiologist.

Apple says that the assessment takes around five minutes and checks hearing ability across multiple audio frequencies. The Cupertino-based tech giant is also expected to release hearing aid functionality at a later stage in India.

With these additions in India, Apple continues to position the Apple Watch and AirPods as health-centric wearables as well.

Honor Win 2 has been making headlines in the rumor mill for a while now. The device will succeed the original Honor Win and is expected to feature a 2nm Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6 alongside a big 10,000mAh battery. 

However, a new leak out of China suggests the rumored phone could actually be called Honor Win 2 Pro or Win 2 Pro Max. 

Honor Win 2 Pro or Honor Win 2 Pro Max?

According to tipster Digital Chat Station, the new Honor Win in works has a Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6 chip, a 10,000mAh+ battery, and an upgraded active cooling fan system. 

The device is also said to feature a 6.89-inch flat display with 2K resolution, an 185Hz refresh rate (likely using an LTPS panel), and upgrades in camera specs. 

Interestingly, the tipster adds in the comments section that this upgraded model may not launch as the standard Honor Win 2. Since it reportedly has better imaging hardware alongside the newer Snapdragon chipset, the company could market it as the Honor Win 2 Pro or Win 2 Pro Max instead.

At the same time, the leak also reveals multiple variants of the lineup. Apart from the rumored Pro model with the newer Snapdragon chip, there could also be a regular variant powered by the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 processor. Another lower-end version is reportedly in testing, featuring the Snapdragon 8 Elite chip and a 1.5K high-refresh-rate display.

So far, Honor has not officially confirmed the Win 2 series or its launch timeline. However, recent rumors claim the lineup could launch earlier than expected in China. 

Once official, the devices are expected to compete with flagship performance phones such as the OnePlus 16, iQOO 16, and the rumored Redmi K100 series.

Samsung’s next Fan Edition phone may still be months away, but early signs suggest development is already moving forward behind the scenes. A firmware build believed to belong to the Galaxy S26 FE has now appeared on Samsung’s internal OTA servers for the first time. The software carries build numbers like S741NKSU0AZE5 and related regional variants, which tipsters say strongly indicates active internal testing has started.

For Samsung devices, firmware surfacing this early is usually one of the clearer signs that a product is progressing toward release, even if the final hardware is not completely locked in yet.

The Galaxy S26 FE is expected to succeed the Galaxy S25 FE, which launched late last year as Samsung’s more affordable flagship-style option. Over the years, the FE lineup has built a fairly loyal following by offering many of the core Galaxy S features without climbing fully into Ultra-level pricing territory.

Earlier leaks already hinted that Samsung could use the Exynos 2500 chip inside the S26 FE, the same 3nm processor reportedly powering some newer foldables and regional Galaxy variants. Geekbench listings spotted last month also pointed toward Android 17 and 8GB RAM.

At this stage, though, most of the hardware details are still unclear. Samsung tends to launch its FE phones around September or October, so the timeline here lines up fairly closely with the company’s usual release cycle. The appearance of test firmware months ahead of launch is pretty normal for Samsung devices, especially when major One UI updates are involved.

The software itself will likely ship with One UI 9 based on Android 17, which could bring several AI and ecosystem-focused improvements by the time the phone officially launches.

One thing that will probably matter quite a bit this year is pricing. The Fan Edition lineup exists largely because many users want flagship-level displays, cameras, and long-term software support without paying full Galaxy S Ultra prices. Maintaining that balance becomes harder as chipset and memory costs continue increasing across the industry.

Still, FE devices have historically been some of Samsung’s more sensible flagship alternatives, especially for users who care more about overall experience than having the absolute newest hardware in every category.

Samsung may already dominate the foldable market, but the company clearly is not done experimenting with smartphone form factors yet. New patent filings suggest Samsung is now exploring rollable and sliding phone designs again, this time with concepts that look noticeably more practical than some of the futuristic prototypes we have seen over the past few years.

The patents, recently spotted by WearView, show multiple designs where a phone can physically expand into a larger screen through sliding or rolling mechanisms.

One of the concepts works somewhat like a normal smartphone at first glance. But instead of unfolding like a Galaxy Z Fold, the display extends outward horizontally when pulled, giving users a much wider screen for multitasking, gaming, or watching videos. It almost feels like Samsung trying to combine the portability of a standard phone with the larger canvas of a foldable.

The second concept is even more unusual.

In its compact form, the display is completely hidden inside the body of the device. Pulling on the sides causes the screen to slide outward and reveal a larger panel. Samsung describes this approach as a way to better protect the display from scratches and impacts when not in use, which honestly addresses one of the biggest concerns people still have about flexible screens.

The patent also mentions sensors capable of detecting how far the display has been extended and how quickly it moves. That information could allow the software interface to dynamically adapt depending on screen size and orientation.

Of course, this is still patent territory for now. Samsung files a huge number of concepts every year, and many never become real products. Rollable phones also come with their own engineering challenges involving durability, moving parts, battery space, and long-term reliability.

Still, Samsung has clearly been interested in this category for a while. Samsung Display has already shown rollable and slidable OLED prototypes publicly at trade shows like CES and MWC, so these ideas are not appearing completely out of nowhere.

And honestly, rollables may actually solve a few problems foldables still struggle with today. Some users still dislike visible creases or bulky hinges, while a rollable design could theoretically stay compact most of the time and only expand when needed.

Whether consumers are ready for yet another smartphone form factor is a different question entirely. Foldables are only now starting to become more mainstream after years of refinement.

Honor is preparing to launch a new smartwatch aimed at users who want to spend less time charging their wearables and more time tracking highly specific sports metrics. Ahead of its official May 25th debut in China alongside the new Honor 600 smartphone series, reservations for the Honor Watch 6 Plus have opened on JD.com, giving us a complete look at the device’s hardware and feature set.

Honor Watch 6 Plus Specifications

The hardware detail that stands out most is the 1,000mAh battery. That is a relatively high capacity for a wrist wearable. Honor claims it can last around 17 days under normal daily use. There is also a low-power mode designed to push that to 35 days, while continuous standalone GPS tracking will drain it in about 42 hours. Even with that battery size, the watch body is 10.8mm thick and weighs 41 grams.

For the design, Honor went with a motorsport-inspired look, featuring angled bezel edges and textured straps. It will be available in colors like Speed Blue, Twilight Brown, Racing Gray, and Shadow Black, with fabric and leather band options. The display is a 1.46-inch AMOLED screen. It has a peak brightness of 3,000 nits to help with outdoor glare, and it includes wet-touch support so you can still navigate the MagicOS interface if the screen gets wet from rain or sweat.

The software is heavily focused on fitness tracking. Alongside more than 120 standard workout modes, Honor includes specialized profiles: a badminton mode that tracks swing speed, rally counts, and forehand/backhand ratios; a football mode for logging sprint speeds and distance; and a running mode that offers posture analysis and pace guidance.

Location tracking is handled by a dual-frequency, six-satellite GNSS chip, which supports offline maps and route importing. For everyday health metrics, the watch monitors heart rate, sleep, and includes alerts for irregular heart rhythms and sleep apnea detection.

Rounding out the device are standard smartwatch features like NFC, Alipay tap-to-pay, gesture controls, and music playback. The built-in YOYO voice assistant also features DeepSeek AI integration, and the watch supports dual phone connectivity for Honor smartphone users.

Pricing for the Honor Watch 6 Plus has not been announced yet. It will be revealed on the 25th May.

Anyone who regularly moves between an Android phone and tablet probably knows the feeling: you open something on one device, pick up the other a few minutes later, and suddenly have to search for the same tab, document, or app all over again. Google wants to make that process much smoother with a new Android 17 feature called “Continue On,” announced during Google I/O 2026.

The feature is essentially Android’s answer to Apple’s Handoff system. It allows users to start something on one Android device and continue it on another without losing progress or context along the way.

For example, if you are editing a document in Google Docs on your phone, your tablet can surface a shortcut suggesting you continue the same session there. Tap it, and the document opens in the exact same state, including scroll position and ongoing edits.

The same idea works for web browsing as well. Chrome pages can move across devices, and Google is also introducing fallback web support for apps that may not exist on the receiving device. So if an app is unavailable on the tablet, Android can instead continue the task inside a browser window.

Google says the system is designed around the idea of “continuing the user journey” between Android devices signed into the same Google account.

At launch, the feature mainly focuses on phone-to-tablet transitions, though the framework itself appears broader. Google is giving developers dedicated APIs so apps can support handoffs more cleanly, and there is already speculation that ChromeOS devices could eventually join the experience too.

To be fair, Samsung users already have access to some similar continuity features through One UI. Samsung Notes, Samsung Internet, clipboard syncing, and Galaxy Book integration have made the Galaxy ecosystem feel fairly connected for a while now. But Google’s approach seems more ambitious because it aims to bring that continuity to third-party apps across Android more generally.

And honestly, this has been one of Android’s bigger weak points for years. The ecosystem has always offered flexibility and hardware variety, but moving between devices rarely felt as seamless as it does on Apple hardware.

Continue On may not sound revolutionary on paper, but features like this tend to become surprisingly useful once they are integrated properly into daily workflows. If developers adopt it widely, switching between Android devices could start feeling much less fragmented than it does today.

The feature is expected to arrive alongside Android 17 later in 2026, with testing beginning through release candidate builds first.

The setup itself is surprisingly clean. A basic powered USB hub connects the Pixel 8 to external controllers, a mouse, HDMI output, and even a small 50mm cooling fan mounted behind the phone. For navigation, the GeoX2 uses L1 and L5 dual-frequency GPS, connecting to six global satellite systems (including GPS, GLONASS, GALILEO, and BDS). You can download offline maps directly to the watch, allowing for route tracking without a cellular connection. After using the Oppo Find X9s as my primary device for the past week, I’m ready to share my thoughts on how this hardware holds up in daily use.

The immediate talking point is the form factor. The device integrates a substantial 7,025mAh battery into a slim 7.99mm frame without the usual ergonomic or weight penalties. Living with the Sunset Orange version, the frosted, velvety glass features a pink-orange gradient. It manages to resist fingerprint smudges well and feels secure in the hand thanks to flat edges paired with subtle contours along the frame. At 202 grams, it feels well-balanced given the sheer capacity inside. 

That Ultra-Symmetric Display

Up front, Oppo has packed the Find X9s a calibrated 6.59-inch LTPS AMOLED flat display. What instantly grabs you are the 1.15mm ultra-thin bezels on all four sides. Because they are completely symmetric, the screen looks borderline boundless when you are scrolling through media or typing out emails. It clocks a crisp 46ppi, a buttery 120Hz refresh rate , and a high frequency 3840Hz PWM dimming rate for exceptional eye comfort in low light. Outdoors in the harsh afternoon light, the 3,600 nits peak outdoor brightness handles legibility effortlessly.

Under the hood, the Find X9s debuts the MediaTek Dimensity 9500s. Built on TSMC’s 3nm process with an “all-big-core” architecture led by the Arm Cortex-X925 core, this thing is an absolute sprinter. Apps open instantly, and the system animations in ColorOS 16 are noticeably different from past iterations.

Even during intensive setup sessions and downloading gigabytes of data, the phone stayed remarkably cool, likely thanks to that massive $32,052.5mm2 advanced vapour chamber cooling area.

Living with the Snap

One hardware feature I’ve grown surprisingly fond of is the Snap Key, a physical button available on the left edge of the phone. By default, it’s tied to Oppo’s AI Mind Space hub. A quick short-press lets you capture screen content instantly, a long-press drops a voice note, and a double-press opens up your saved repository. It’s fully customizable if you want it to trigger the flashlight, screenshots, or translation apps instead, but the default AI integration has already saved me a ton of tedious copy-pasting.

Biometrics are handled by an ultrasonic fingerprint scanner, which works instantly even if your fingers are slightly wet or oily. The phone carries a triple IP66, IP68, and IP69 rating, meaning it isn’t just safe against deep submersion, but can actively withstand high-pressure, high-temperature water jets.

Oppo didn’t cut corners on the focal lengths here; you get a flagship-level 50MP triple camera system co-developed with Hasselblad.

The Battery Status

Over a week of mixed testing, I found the Find X9s’ 7,025mAh to easily last 1.5 days on normal usage. Oppo says that it is their 3^rd generation silicon-carbon battery, with 15% silicon composition, is absolutely the real deal for heavy users.

When I finally do need to plug it in, the 80W wired charging gets it back up to speed in minutes, and the inclusion of up to 55W USB-PD fast charging compatibility means I don’t even have to carry Oppo’s proprietary brick to my workplace to get fast top-ups from my laptop charger.

Final Thoughts

To sum up, after a full week of testing, the Oppo Find X9s proves to be a highly practical flagship that pairs incredible endurance with a versatile imaging setup, packing a massive 7,025mAh battery and a consistent 50MP Hasselblad triple camera system into a remarkably slim 7.99mm frame. Oppo also bundles a matching orange case in the box, which complements the Sunset Orange finish beautifully while adding extra grip and protection.

The Find X9s is now available for pre-orders in India and is set to go on sale from May 28. The 12GB+256GB and 12GB+512GB variants of the device are priced at Rs 79,999 (~$830) and Rs 89,999 (~$940), respectively.

OnePlus has quietly increased the price of the Nord 6 in India barely a month after launch, and the jump is large enough to raise a few eyebrows in the mid-range segment.

When the phone debuted in April, the 8GB + 256GB variant was priced at ₹38,999, while the 12GB + 256GB version came in at ₹41,999. Now, updated listings on Amazon India and OnePlus’ own website show the prices climbing to ₹41,999 and ₹46,999 respectively.

That means the base model alone has gone up by ₹3,000, while the higher-end variant has seen a much steeper ₹5,000 increase.

Several smartphone brands have been dealing with rising memory and storage costs over the past few months. Samsung, Xiaomi, Vivo, and other manufacturers have also adjusted pricing recently across different categories.

The Nord 6 itself is fairly loaded on paper. It comes with Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8s Gen 4 chipset, a huge 9,000mAh battery, a 165Hz AMOLED display, and hardware that pushes it closer to affordable flagship territory than a traditional Nord device.

At its original pricing, the phone felt competitive. At nearly ₹47,000 for the top configuration, however, the conversation changes a bit. Buyers in that range start comparing it directly against more premium offerings.

The OnePlus 15R, for instance, offers a more capable chipset, larger main sensor, more advanced image processing, a metal frame, a glass back, and more importantly, that flagship tag for just a bit of extra cash, if you can stretch your budget.

To soften the blow slightly, OnePlus is still offering bank discounts of up to ₹2,000 through select cards and EMI transactions. But even after those offers, the effective pricing is still noticeably higher than what early buyers paid at launch.

This also marks a bit of a milestone for the Nord lineup itself. The Nord series traditionally sat comfortably below the flagship category, focusing heavily on value. Crossing the ₹41,000 mark for the base variant changes that perception somewhat.

Whether buyers continue to see the Nord 6 as good value after the increase will probably depend on how aggressively OnePlus handles discounts and seasonal offers over the next few months.

Xiaomi has announced the Smart Band 10 Pro during its recent ecosystem event in China. The new fitness tracker brings a few updates to the company’s wearable lineup, including a brighter screen, closer integration with Apple devices, and a dedicated gaming mode.

The design of the Band 10 Pro looks more like a standard smartwatch than a traditional fitness tracker. It features a rectangular 1.74-inch AMOLED display with narrow symmetrical bezels and a 60Hz refresh rate. Xiaomi says the screen can reach a peak brightness of 2,000 nits, which should help with outdoor visibility.

The device is relatively thin at 9.7mm and weighs 21.6 grams without a strap attached. The standard casing is made of aluminum, but Xiaomi is also offering a white ceramic version for a slightly higher price, along with various strap options like silicone, leather, and Milanese.

For health tracking, the band uses a new dual-light, dual-PD heart rate sensor. It handles the standard metrics, continuous heart rate, blood oxygen, and sleep tracking, but now includes heart rate variability (HRV) monitoring. This allows the software to offer fatigue and recovery analysis, a feature usually found on more expensive wearables. It also includes built-in GNSS for tracking outdoor runs or rides without needing to carry a phone, and it supports over 150 different sports modes.

The software runs on Xiaomi’s HyperOS 3. While it connects with Xiaomi’s own phones and smart home devices, the company has added specific features for iOS users. The band supports Apple Health syncing, dual-device notifications, and quick commands similar to Siri Shortcuts.

There is also a new gaming mode. When activated, the band tracks your heart rate and stress levels while you play, displays game progress, and vibrates when your character is about to respawn. It then generates a summary report of your physical stats during the match.

Xiaomi estimates the battery will last up to 21 days on a single charge under standard use, or about eight days if the always-on display is active. The device is 5ATM water-resistant and includes NFC for transit cards and offline payments.

Pricing and Availability

The standard aluminum model is currently available in China for 399 yuan ($58), while the ceramic model is priced at 479 yuan ($70). The leather strap version costs 469 yuan ($68).

At the same event, Xiaomi also unveiled its first clip-on earbuds featuring 11mm drivers, an IP57 rating, and up to 38 hours of battery life.

At first glance, it looks a bit like a tiny smart badge mixed with a camera accessory.

The small circular display can function as a rear preview monitor, allowing users to frame selfies or group shots using the main rear cameras instead of the front camera. Honor is also including a four-level fill light system, which should help in darker environments or indoor shooting situations.

The accessory goes beyond photography too. According to the company, it can also work as a remote control for the phone, supporting functions like remote shooting and even scrolling through apps such as Douyin without directly touching the handset.

But Honor clearly is leaning into the lifestyle angle here as well. The display can show animated wallpapers, custom images, and decorative visuals, essentially turning the accessory into a small electronic badge or fashion accessory attached to the back of the phone. Promotional material heavily targets younger users with playful designs and decorative charms.

As for the phones themselves, the Honor 600 series is shaping up to be fairly ambitious for the segment. The standard Honor 600 is expected to feature a 1.5K flat display, Snapdragon 7 Gen 4 chipset, large 8,600mAh battery, and a 200MP main camera. The Pro version reportedly upgrades to a Dimensity 8550 processor and adds a dedicated telephoto camera alongside wireless charging support.

Honor is also pushing heavily into AI-enhanced photography and what it calls full-focal-length 4K live shooting.

Open-ear audio has quietly become one of the most crowded spaces in consumer tech, and Xiaomi is the latest company to release its own take on the form factor. At a recent hardware event in China, the company announced its first clip-on earbuds. They are priced at 849 yuan (roughly $124), with a brief launch discount bringing them down to 799 yuan ($117).

Like other cuff-style earbuds we’ve seen recently, Xiaomi’s new buds are designed to clip onto the side of your ear rather than sitting inside the ear canal. It’s a design meant for people who find traditional silicone tips uncomfortable or who just want to hear their surroundings while working or commuting.

Xiaomi kept the weight down to 5.5 grams per earbud and used a memory titanium wire bridge to hold them in place. The company says the clamping distance is tuned to 3.4mm, which is supposed to keep them secure without pinching your cartilage after a few hours of wear.

Inside, the earbuds use an 11mm dynamic driver. They support LHDC 5.0 for high-resolution audio, though the real challenge with any open-ear design is managing sound leakage.

To address this, Xiaomi is using directional sound transmission and reverse sound waves, a common approach in this category to keep your music or phone calls relatively private. For voice pickup, there is a triple-microphone array paired with a bone conduction mic to help filter out background noise.

The hardware itself has a glossy, partially transparent finish, while the charging case is coated in a soft-touch, leather-like material. They come in four colors: black, white, gold, and purple. As for durability, an IP57 rating means they are protected against dust and water, so they should easily survive a rainy commute or a sweaty run. Battery life is rated at nine hours on the buds themselves, stretching to 38 hours with the case.

On the software side, they integrate with Xiaomi’s HyperOS for audio sharing, while iOS users also get support for Apple’s Find My network. It’s a practical addition that makes them a bit more versatile if you aren’t fully locked into Xiaomi’s hardware ecosystem.

Naturally, Xiaomi has also included a suite of AI features, including real-time translation for 21 languages, live transcription, and AI-generated summaries via its XiaoAI assistant. It’s standard practice to pack new gadgets with AI tools right now, though how useful they actually are in everyday life usually depends on the execution.

The upcoming Redmi Note 17 has surfaced in the GSMA IMEI database. The listing confirms that the company is already working on its next Note-series smartphone, and is now expected to launch sooner than usual.

The GSMA entry reveals three variants of the Note 17 carrying the model codes 26012RN62L, 26012RN62Y, and 26012RN62A. These registrations confirm that the smartphone is in development for global and Latin American markets.

However, there is currently no sign of versions specifically intended for China or India. Both are major markets for the Redmi Note lineup.

Why not Redmi Note 16?

The device’s appearance in the GSMA is also notable in terms of timing. Redmi Note smartphones are usually introduced later in the yearly cycle, but this early registration suggests that the Redmi Note 17 series could launch earlier than previous generations.

Word on the street is also that Xiaomi may be changing its naming strategy across product lines. According to reports, the company could be trying to align numbering across its smartphone families, which explains the Redmi Note 17 branding instead of “Note 16”.

At the moment, hardware details are still limited. However, the vanilla Note 17 will be the affordable model in the line and could be a 4G-oriented device rather than a high-end 5G model. 

A previous leak related to the Redmi Note 17 Pro Max suggests the device may feature a large 7-inch display, a massive battery close to 10,000mAh, support for up to 100W fast charging, and even a 200-megapixel main camera on certain variants. 

The details are not confirmed — of course — but they suggest that Xiaomi may be testing different ideas for the lineup.

Xiaomi is hosting a grand product launch event today, where the star of the show is Xiaomi 17 Max. It is the biggest battery phone in Xiaomi’s main flagship lineup so far, packing a massive 8,000mAh battery, which Xiaomi says uses its Jinshajiang battery technology with up to 16% silicon content and an energy density of 894Wh/L.

The phone supports 100W wired fast charging and 50W wireless charging. It is also compatible with the 100W PPS charging protocol. Xiaomi has included its Surge P3 fast charging chip and Surge G2 battery management chip for better charging and battery efficiency.

The rest of the Xiaomi 17 Max specs are big as well.

On the front, the Xiaomi 17 Max features a large 6.9-inch flat OLED display with ultra-thin 1.28mm bezels and rounded corners. Xiaomi says the panel uses its SuperPixel technology, which delivers 2K resolution while consuming less power than a standard 1.5K panel.

The screen supports a 1Hz to 120Hz LTPO refresh rate and reaches a peak brightness of 3,500 nits. It is protected by third-generation Dragon Crystal Glass, which Xiaomi claims improves drop resistance by up to 20 times. Users can also switch between DC-like dimming and 2160Hz PWM dimming modes.

Powering the phone is Qualcomm’s latest Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 chipset, paired with LPDDR5X RAM and UFS 4.1 storage. The device further uses a 5,500mm² vapor chamber cooling system and can run games like Genshin Impact at maximum settings while maintaining stable frame rates for long sessions.

For photography, the Xiaomi 17 Max comes with a Leica-branded triple camera setup. The main sensor is a 200-megapixel HP9 camera with a large 1/1.4-inch sensor and Xiaomi’s ultra-high transmittance pyramid coating.

The phone also includes a 50-megapixel ultra-wide camera and a 50-megapixel periscope telephoto camera with 3x optical zoom, 6x optical lossless zoom, and macro support from as close as 15cm. On the front, there is a 32-megapixel selfie camera. Xiaomi also highlighted support for high-definition 4K live streaming directly from the device.

Portronics just released a new portable tire inflator called the Vayu Nano, and its main appeal is simply how small it is. If you commute on a bicycle or a motorcycle, you already know that carrying a standard air pump isn’t really an option, and even most portable electric inflators take up too much space in a backpack. The Vayu Nano is designed to get around that exact problem.

Internally, the Vayu Nano can push up to 120 PSI. Portronics says that’s enough to handle motorcycles (which usually need around 45 PSI), bicycles (around 35 PSI), and standard sports balls. It includes a few preset modes for different types of inflatables, plus a manual custom setting. It also features an auto shut-off function, meaning you can dial in your target pressure, turn it on, and it will stop automatically once it hits that number, so you don’t over-inflate anything.

The inflator runs on a dual 600mAh battery setup and charges via USB-C, so you can just use your existing phone charger or a power bank to top it up. There’s also a built-in LED light with an SOS mode, which is a standard but necessary feature if you ever need to find a valve stem in the dark.

This is a common trade-off in the entry-level market; you get a faster screen, but it won’t be as sharp as a 1080p display when watching videos or reading small text.

Inside, the Vibe 2 5G is powered by a 6,000mAh battery. That capacity is on the larger side for modern smartphones and should reliably get most people through a day or two of regular use. The downside to a battery this size is the charging speed. The phone supports 18W charging, which means it will take a couple of hours to fully recharge from zero. HMD does include the 18W charging brick in the box, along with a basic case and screen protector.

For performance, the device relies on a 6nm Unisoc T8200 5G processor. You can choose between 4GB or 6GB of RAM, and 64GB or 128GB of internal storage. If you need more space, there is a microSD card slot that supports up to 1TB. The phone ships with Android 16 and includes a localized software feature called Indus AI, which supports 22 Indian languages. HMD has promised two years of quarterly security updates, though there is no explicit mention of major OS upgrades.

The camera system is fairly standard for the price bracket. There is a 50MP primary rear camera, a secondary sensor, and an 8MP front-facing camera for video calls.

The Vibe 2 5G weighs in at 210g, which is expected given the battery size. It carries an IP64 rating for basic dust and splash resistance, retains the 3.5mm headphone jack, and features a side-mounted fingerprint sensor built into the power button.

Pricing and Availability

The HMD Vibe 2 5G will be available on Flipkart starting May 26th. It comes in three colors: Cosmic Lavender, Nordic Blue, and Peach Pink. The base 4GB / 64GB model is priced at Rs. 10,999, while the 4GB / 128GB variant will cost Rs. 11,999.

The company is wasting no time in expanding the update beyond its absolute newest hardware. The OTA builds are already hitting previous-generation flagships like the Galaxy S24 and Galaxy S23 series. The mid-range segment has also entered the mix, led by the Galaxy A56.

Xiaomi has launched two new top-loading washing machines under its Mijia Pro lineup in China, focusing heavily on hygiene, quieter operation, and smart home features while still keeping prices fairly aggressive.

The new models come in 10kg and 12kg capacities. Both machines use Xiaomi’s newer DDM inverter direct-drive motor, which is designed to reduce vibration and noise. Xiaomi also claims the updated washing system improves water efficiency and reduces wear on clothes compared to previous models.

A major part of the marketing here revolves around hygiene. Xiaomi says the antibacterial pulsator can achieve a 99.99% antibacterial rate alongside high removal rates for bacteria like E. coli and Staphylococcus aureus. The company is also claiming full mite removal under certain testing conditions.

The machines additionally feature what Xiaomi calls “Zero Stagnant Water” technology, aimed at reducing leftover dirty water inside the system after washing cycles.

For daily use, Xiaomi has included a multi-layer shock absorption and balancing system to keep vibrations lower during spinning. Smart features are present too, including Mi Home app connectivity, remote controls, scheduling support, and integration with Xiaomi’s broader HyperOS ecosystem.

The overall design remains fairly minimal and typical of Xiaomi’s recent home appliances, with a clean top-loading layout and simple control interface.

Pricing:

The 10kg version is priced at 899 yuan (roughly equivalent to €113 at the current exchange rate), though subsidies currently bring it down to around 764 yuan. Meanwhile, the larger 12kg model costs 1099 yuan before subsidies and around 934 yuan afterward.

At these prices, Xiaomi is clearly targeting families that want modern washing machine features without stepping into premium appliance territory. And with smart home adoption continuing to grow in China, products like this are becoming a much bigger part of Xiaomi’s ecosystem strategy beyond smartphones and wearables.

Oppo has officially launched the Oppo Find X9 Ultra in India, nearly a month after the phone first debuted in China. As you might know, this is a camera-first flagship with all the bells and whistles you expect from a premium 2026 smartphone. 

Oppo Find X9 Ultra Specifications

The Find X9 Ultra comes with a 6.82-inch flat AMOLED display with QHD+ resolution (3168 x 1440 pixels). The panel supports a 1Hz to 120Hz adaptive refresh rate, while also being capable of reaching 144Hz in supported scenarios. Oppo is also offering Dolby Vision support and up to 1800 nits peak brightness.

Powering the phone is Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 chipset paired with LPDDR5X RAM and UFS 4.1 storage. The phone runs Android 16 with ColorOS 16 on top.

The camera system is the biggest highlight of the Find X9 Ultra. On the back, the phone features a 200-megapixel Sony LYT-901 main sensor with OIS support. It is accompanied by a 50-megapixel ultra-wide camera using the Sony LYT-600 sensor, a 50-megapixel 3x periscope telephoto lens, and another 50-megapixel 10x periscope telephoto camera. Oppo has also included a 3.2-megapixel multispectral sensor as part of the setup.

For selfies and video calls, the phone gets a 50-megapixel front-facing camera.

Moving from hardware, Oppo is using Hasselblad expertise for color tuning and image processing. The phone also supports advanced video recording options, including high-resolution recording and creator-focused tools.

Keeping the device running is a large 7050mAh battery with support for 100W wired SuperVOOC charging and 50W wireless charging. Despite the large battery, the phone measures 9.10mm in thickness and weighs up to 236 grams depending on the variant.

Other features include an ultrasonic in-display fingerprint scanner, dual stereo speakers, an IR blaster, NFC, Wi-Fi 7, Bluetooth 5.4, USB Type-C 3.2 Gen 1, and Oppo’s new Snap Key feature. The phone is also IP68 and IP69 certified for water and dust resistance.

The Oppo Find X9 Ultra starts at Rs. 1,69,999 for the 12GB RAM and 512GB storage variant. Pre-orders are open from May 14 to May 27 through Amazon, Flipkart, and the Oppo Store.

It’s important to note that Vivo hasn’t confirmed which devices will be upgraded to Android 17. So, we had to fetch the update policy for each device to prepare the list, and therefore, we can confidently say that the devices on the list are guaranteed to receive the update once the rollout begins.

It doesn’t take long to notice that there are no Vivo Y-series models on the list. We didn’t include them because the brand hasn’t announced an update policy for most Y-series devices, including recent models. So, while they are missing from our list, many recent models should be eligible for the upgrade.

According to the official timeline, Google will release the stable version of Android 17 around June 2026. That’s when Pixel devices receive the update, but third-party brands, including Vivo, take additional time to develop and refine their custom skin, such as OriginOS, to work with the latest Android version.

So, even if Google announces the stable Android 17 release in June, Vivo and iQOO users will need to wait a few more months before they start to receive the update with a new version of Vivo’s custom skin. If past releases are any indication, we’re expecting the rollout to begin around September.

The tablet comes with a 9.7-inch IPS display featuring a 2K resolution and a 120Hz refresh rate. Xiaomi is also advertising up to 500 nits of typical brightness and 600 nits of outdoor brightness, alongside TÜV Rheinland certifications for low blue light and flicker reduction.

Design-wise, the Pad C1 keeps things simple with a slim metal body measuring 7.4mm thick and weighing around 406 grams. It is not exactly ultra-light, but still portable enough for casual media use or studying.

Performance is handled by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 6s 4G Gen 2 chip paired with up to 6GB RAM and 128GB storage. Storage expansion through microSD cards up to 2TB is supported as well.

For everyday tasks like reading PDFs, browsing, or streaming videos, the tablet should feel perfectly fine. Demanding apps and games, however, will still require a more capable chipset.

And if the hardware looks familiar, that is because the Poco Pad C1 is essentially a rebranded Redmi Pad 2 9.7. Xiaomi has been doing this quite often lately, offering the same core hardware under different branding depending on the market and audience.

The software side runs HyperOS 3 out of the box and includes a few ecosystem-focused features like call sync and Circle to Search support. Connectivity includes 4G support, while the audio setup uses dual speakers and still keeps a 3.5mm headphone jack, which some users will probably appreciate.

Battery life looks like one of the stronger points here. The tablet packs a 7,600mAh battery with support for 18W charging. Xiaomi claims up to 15 hours of video playback and roughly 1.7 days of regular use, though real-world results will obviously depend heavily on refresh rate and usage patterns.

The camera setup is fairly basic with an 8MP rear sensor and a 5MP front camera, which feels perfectly fine for a budget tablet mainly intended for streaming, browsing, online classes, and light gaming.

Regional pricing has not been fully detailed yet, but the Redmi-branded version launched at fairly affordable pricing in several markets. So the Poco version is expected to stay on the lower side as well.

Oppo has added up to 55dB Active Noise Cancellation with support for a 5000Hz ultra-wide frequency range. The earbuds also feature a triple-microphone setup with AI Clear Call technology, which is designed to reduce background noise and improve voice clarity during calls, even in noisy outdoor conditions.

For battery life, the earbuds offer up to 54 hours of total playback with the charging case when ANC is disabled. With ANC enabled, users can expect up to 29 hours of playback. The earbuds themselves pack 62mAh batteries, while the charging case houses a 530mAh battery. Oppo says the earbuds take around 60 minutes to charge fully, while the case requires about 90 minutes.

Additional features include Bluetooth 6.0 connectivity, dual-device pairing across Android, iOS and Windows devices, Spotify Tap integration, AI Translate support and customisable touch controls with slide volume gestures. The earbuds also carry an IP55 rating for dust and water resistance and weigh just 4.4 grams each.

The tipster claims that a certain manufacturer is currently testing a wide-foldable device powered by a 2nm Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6-series platform. 

The device is said to feature a large internal display measuring around 7.6 inches, plus or minus, along with a secondary cover screen of about 5.5 inches, also plus or minus.

After Samsung and Apple, it’s Honor

According to the leak, several “wide-folding” screen designs are currently being refined across the industry. This suggests that more than one company is working on similar form factors, as we mentioned earlier.

The tipster added in the comments that the device will launch in the first half of next year. While the device and brand name remain undisclosed, the hints suggest it could be a device from Honor.

There are also previous claims that support this. In April, industry sources suggested that several Chinese manufacturers were evaluating next-generation foldables with similar screen setups, typically around 7.7 inches for the main display and 5.5 inches for the cover screen. These designs are also expected to use ultra-thin glass (UTG) technology with minimal creasing, improving the overall viewing experience.

Another earlier leak from Digital Chat Station revealed that multiple wide-folding phones could launch this year, including devices from different brands. Among them, the tipster claims, the Huawei Pura X Max will be one of the most affordable options in this category.

According to the leaked render, the HMD Thunder Pro has a horizontal camera module on the back. It includes two camera sensors along with an LED light. The design follows the flat-edge style seen in recent smartphones.

The leak suggests that the phone will be powered by the Unisoc T620 chipset, which reportedly has a peak clock speed of 2.2GHz. The device is also said to feature 8GB of RAM and 256GB of UFS 2.2 internal storage.

On the front, the HMD Thunder Pro is tipped to feature a 6.67-inch OLED display with FHD+ resolution. The screen is also expected to support a 90Hz refresh rate.

For cameras, the leak mentions a 50MP main sensor with OIS (optical image stabilization) and an 8MP ultra-wide camera. The front will have a 50MP lens for selfies.

Designed to Handle Daily Household Work

The Shiguang S1 can perform several common household activities. According to the company, the robot is capable of folding clothes, cooking meals, and clearing the dining table. It can also chat with elderly people and provide assistance at home. One of its biggest features is its ability to continuously learn and adapt to new tasks, making it more flexible than older task-specific robots.

Powered by Advanced AI Technology

GigaBrain says the robot uses its self-developed embodied intelligent model, which allows it to understand tasks and react to different home environments. Ye Yun, Vice President of R&D at GigaBrain, explained that traditional factory robots usually follow fixed instructions, while the Shiguang S1 can plan actions on its own and respond intelligently to changing situations.

The company also revealed plans to officially launch its next-generation “GigaBrain 1” model in the third quarter of 2026.

Casio’s premium G-Shock MTG-B4000B-1A has started appearing in the U.S. through retailer Arizona Fine Time. The watch is the latest model in the MTG-B4000 series, which also consists of the MTG-B4000B-1A2JF and the MTG-B4000-1AJF.

The watch is listed at $1,500 and appears to be shipping immediately. That puts it at the same U.S. retail price as the older MTG-B4000B-1A2. In Japan, the related MTG-B4000B-1AJF launched on May 15, 2026, priced at ¥176,000, or about $1,110.

The MTG-B4000B-1A is part of Casio’s MT-G line, which combines resin and metal construction. This model uses a carbon laminated frame with stainless steel, along with a Dual Core Guard structure. Casio says the design was refined through simulation and human review to balance strength, shape, and wearability.

The case uses carbon fiber reinforced resin and stainless steel, while the bezel has a two-part inner and outer structure. The stainless-steel bezel gets black ion plating with both hairline and mirror finishes. The case back is made from stainless steel using Metal Injection Molding. The watch also has Triple G Resist protection, covering shock, centrifugal force, and vibration resistance.

The black dial carries red accents and microfabrication details from Casio’s Yamagata factory. It is protected by a sapphire crystal and paired with a black soft urethane band. Other hardware details include a screw-lock crown, Neobrite luminous treatment, a high-brightness LED light, and 200-meter water resistance.

For timekeeping, the quartz watch supports Multi Band 6 radio-controlled adjustment and Bluetooth syncing through the Casio Watches app. App features include automatic time correction, phone finder, watch status display, self-check, Time & Place logging, and world time for around 300 cities. Like most G-Shocks, the MTG-B4000B also uses Tough Solar charging, and can last for around five months without seeing the sun, or up to 18 months in power-saving mode.

Samsung has moved ahead of Apple in customer satisfaction among smartphone users in the United States, according to the latest report from the American Customer Satisfaction Index (ACSI). The new survey shows Samsung taking the top position with a score of 81, while Apple followed closely behind with 80 points.

Last year, both companies were tied in the rankings, but the new results suggest Samsung has managed to gain a slight advantage in how users feel about their devices and overall experience.

The report also notes that customer satisfaction across the smartphone industry improved slightly this year. The overall score for the category rose by 1% to 79 points after a noticeable decline in the previous year.

AI is also a part of the satisfaction metric 

One major reason for the improvement is said to be the growing usefulness of modern smartphone features. The survey suggests that newer technologies are no longer being seen as marketing tricks. Instead, users now feel many of these additions are genuinely helpful in everyday use. ACSI highlights battery life improvement as one of the biggest positives for consumers.

Artificial intelligence also played an important role in this year’s rankings. AI-related features were included in the survey for the first time, and they are well-received by users. According to the report, many consumers now see AI tools as practical features rather than experimental additions. 

Among individual devices, premium flagship phones delivered the highest satisfaction scores. Samsung’s Galaxy S series led the category with 84 points, while Apple’s latest iPhone lineup scored 82 points. Google’s flagship smartphones followed with 80 points.

The report also looked at foldable phones, where Samsung continues to dominate the segment ahead of Google and Motorola. However, foldable devices generated more user complaints than traditional smartphones, showing that the category still faces some challenges.

The survey was based on feedback collected from more than 20,000 users.

iQOO has launched a new pair of budget wireless earbuds in China, called the iQOO TWS 5i. It comes with long battery life and a few gaming-focused sound features.

Just like the TWS 3i, the successor uses 10mm drivers. The earbuds support iQOO’s in-house “Monster Sound” audio processing, which are designed to adjust audio depending on the type of game being played. Spatial audio support is included as well, with multiple sound modes for games, movies, and general media playback.

The company says the earbuds can achieve as low as 42ms latency over Bluetooth 5.4, which should help reduce noticeable audio delay in fast-paced games like shooters or racing titles.

Physically, the TWS 5i keeps things lightweight. Each earbud weighs around 4.2 grams, so comfort seems to be a major priority here, especially for longer gaming sessions or daily use.

Battery life looks surprisingly solid for the price segment too. iQOO claims up to 11.5 hours of playback on a single charge, with the charging case extending total usage to around 50 hours. Talk time is rated slightly lower at about seven hours.

The earbuds also come with AI-based call noise reduction, IP54 dust and splash resistance, and support for connecting to two devices at the same time.

Of course, some compromises are still there. Features like active noise cancellation are missing, which is not surprising considering the pricing. iQOO seems to be focusing more on the basics that matter most to casual gamers and everyday users rather than trying to compete directly with more expensive earbuds.

At 119 yuan, the TWS 5i feels positioned more as a practical daily pair with gaming perks rather than a pair of earbuds focused heavily on sound quality. But as strong battery life remains to be the most important aspect in the budget segment, the TWS 5i could end up attracting quite a bit of attention among younger users and mobile gamers.

Pricing:

The TWS 5i is priced at 119 yuan in China, which is roughly equivalent to €15 or ₹1,700 at current exchange rates, and is already available for purchase. As of now, iQOO has not announced any plans to launch the earbuds internationally.

Oppo has released its newest budget wireless earbuds in China. The earbuds are priced at 199 yuan (about $29), and they offer a practical set of features for the price tier, focusing primarily on active noise cancellation and battery longevity. The Enco Air 5 comes in three colors: White, Black, and Purple.

For noise cancellation, the earbuds include up to 52dB of active noise cancellation (ANC) covering a 5,000Hz frequency range. The earbuds also use a triple-microphone system to isolate the user’s voice during phone calls, with the company saying it can maintain vocal clarity in wind speeds up to 25km/h.

The Enco Air 5 earbuds equip 12mm dynamic drivers designed for stronger bass and clearer highs. These feature a 10-band custom EQ for personalized sound tuning, support AAC and SBC codecs, and include spatial audio alongside dedicated gaming sound effects.

Each earbud weighs 4.3 grams, and they feature an IP55 rating for dust and water resistance, meaning they can handle sweat during workouts or light rain. The charging case is relatively compact, weighing 43.5 grams.

On the connectivity front, the Enco Air 5 supports Bluetooth 6.1. For daily use, they support dual-device connection, allowing users to switch audio seamlessly between a phone and a tablet. There is also a 47ms low-latency mode for gaming and video playback.

As for battery life, the Enco Air 5 offers up to 13 hours of playback on a single charge and up to 54 hours with the charging case. With ANC enabled, the battery life drops to 6.5 hours for the earbuds and 27 hours in total. It also supports fast charging, with a 10-minute top-up delivering up to four hours of playback.

The earbuds also include a few smart additions like in-ear detection, remote camera control, customizable touch controls, and AI-powered translation for 24 languages.

In related news, Motorola recently confirmed the launch of the Moto Buds 2 in India with LHDC audio support and 55dB active noise cancellation. Meanwhile, Nubia has introduced the GT Buds in China, featuring a semi-transparent design, RGB lighting, and up to 35dB ANC.

Hisense has launched the Xplorer X1 Pro laser TV series in China, offering 100-inch and 120-inch models designed to deliver a large-screen home theater experience without the complexity of traditional projector setups.

The lineup starts at 34,999 yuan ($5,145) for the 100-inch version, while the 120-inch model is priced at 49,999 yuan ($7,351). The launch arrives following last year’s Xplorer X1 Ultra release.

Hisense Xplorer X1 Pro Specifications

The Xplorer X1 Pro relies on Hisense’s CineCore light engine, utilizing an RGB triple-color laser and a DLP digital projection architecture. According to Hisense, this setup improves light transmission efficiency by 12% compared to its previous hardware. The projector outputs a native 4K resolution and covers 110% of the BT.2020 color space, with a Delta E color accuracy rating of 0.6. It also includes support for IMAX Enhanced and Filmmaker Mode.

To handle ambient room light, Hisense includes a custom nano-spectral selective screen. The screen is engineered to absorb environmental light while reflecting the specific RGB wavelengths from the projector, which helps maintain contrast during daytime viewing. The screen panel is 3cm thick and can be folded for easier transport and installation. When paired with the projector, the system reaches up to 600 nits of sustained full-screen brightness.

For audio, the TV features a built-in 6.1.2-channel distributed surround sound system tuned by Harman Kardon. The setup includes nine speakers with a combined 120W of power, plus a dedicated wireless subwoofer that reaches down to 33Hz. The system also uses screen-emitting audio technology, which vibrates the display surface to produce sound, aiming to align dialogue more closely with the actors on screen. It supports Dolby Atmos and DTS:X decoding.

Internally, the projector is powered by a MediaTek MT9649 processor, 4GB of RAM, and 128GB of storage. Connectivity options include Wi-Fi 6, Bluetooth 5.4, and three HDMI 2.1 ports. However, the video output is capped at 4K at 60Hz, meaning it will not support the 120Hz refresh rates offered by current-generation gaming consoles.

The main projector unit features a brown and gold exterior and sits on a concealed gimbal, which allows users to adjust the projection angle to fit different TV cabinets.

Xiaomi has introduced a new addition to its growing Mijia smart home lineup in China, this time focusing on kitchen water filtration. The new Mijia Water Purifier 2 1600G is aimed at households looking for faster water output, lower maintenance, and cleaner drinking water without stepping too far into premium pricing territory.

One of the main highlights here is the large 1600G flow rate, which should allow noticeably faster water dispensing compared to older under-sink RO systems. Xiaomi says the purifier uses a dual-core precision filtration setup capable of filtering out up to 145 different contaminants, including heavy metals, bacteria, viruses, and various organic pollutants.

The company is also emphasizing long-term ownership costs this time. The RO filter inside is rated for up to seven years of use, which is considerably longer than what many conventional home RO systems typically advertise.

Xiaomi has additionally upgraded the purifier with what it calls “Zero Stagnant Water 3.0” technology. The idea is to reduce leftover water sitting inside the system between uses, helping improve freshness and hygiene.

The purifier reportedly meets what Xiaomi describes as “mother-and-baby-grade” healthy water standards, with BPA-free water output and no added scale inhibitors. Unsurprisingly, the company is heavily positioning it toward families and health-conscious buyers.

Efficiency is another big focus. Xiaomi claims the system complies with China’s highest national water-efficiency standard while achieving a water purification rate of up to 68.1%, which should reduce wastewater compared to many traditional RO units.

Like most recent Mijia appliances, the purifier is also expected to integrate with the Mi Home ecosystem, allowing users to monitor filter life, water quality, and maintenance reminders through the app.

Pricing:

The purifier is priced at 1,999 yuan (roughly €250 at the current exchange rate), though current national subsidies bring the effective price down to around 1,799 yuan.

Xiaomi has been expanding aggressively into smart home appliances over the past few years, and products like this show how much the company is leaning into practical household hardware beyond phones and wearables. In China especially, water purifiers have become an increasingly competitive category as consumers pay more attention to water quality and long-term running costs.

Xiaomi is officially entering the open-ear audio category with its first clip-on wireless earphones, and one of the more unexpected details is how much attention the company is giving to Apple users this time.

According to Xiaomi’s latest teasers, the upcoming earbuds will support Apple’s Find My network, allowing users to locate the earphone case even from thousands of miles away through Apple devices much like AirPods or other certified accessories. Xiaomi also confirmed smart dual-device connectivity across both Android and iOS ecosystems.

That cross-platform compatibility could mean a lot to users who mix Android and Apple devices in daily use but are unwilling to spend extra on a pair of AirPods just for the ecosystem features.

The earphones themselves follow the increasingly popular open-ear clip-on design rather than the traditional in-ear style. Each bud weighs around 5.5 grams and uses a flexible memory titanium wire structure designed to wrap gently around the ear without creating too much pressure during long listening sessions.

Xiaomi is also putting decent hardware behind the audio side. The earbuds use an 11mm driver with a microcrystalline metal-coated diaphragm and support LHDC 5.0 alongside Hi-Res audio certification. For calls, Xiaomi says it is using a three-microphone setup combined with a VPU sensor and AI-based noise reduction.

Because open-ear earbuds naturally leak more sound than sealed in-ear designs, Xiaomi is also implementing reverse sound wave technology to reduce audio leakage, which has become a major focus in this category lately.

The company previewed the earphones during a livestream earlier this month, showing off black, white, and gold color variants, with a fourth version still being kept hidden for now.
