Galaxy S24 users on One UI 8.0 get One UI 8.5 official update
Samsung Galaxy S24 series is getting One UI 8.5 update, following the Beta-bound models. The company started Beta Program in select countries, but not every user joined the early testing phase and waited for Stable release.
The update first debuted with the Galaxy S26 lineup earlier this year, and now Samsung’s 2024 flagship phones are joining the party with a wave of new Galaxy AI features, smoother animations, and several improvements.
The rollout is currently live in South Korea, where Galaxy S24 users are receiving the stable DZDP (4.5GB) firmware. Users who stayed on One UI 8.0, skipping Beta, are getting the update, though the OTA package is noticeably larger in size.
One UI 8.5 is not a dramatic redesign
Samsung has focused heavily on polish, responsiveness, performance, multitasking, and AI-powered utilities. Several Galaxy AI features introduced with the Galaxy S26 lineup are now expanding to older flagships.
The update also improves system animations, Quick Panel customization, cross-device continuity, battery optimization, and multitasking behavior. Samsung refined various stock apps including Gallery, Phone, Clock, Samsung Keyboard, and My Files.
Global expansion is expected to happen gradually over the next few days, with markets like India, Europe, the US, and other Asian regions likely next in line. Samsung already confirmed broader regional expansion after the Korea debut.
If you own a Galaxy S24, Galaxy S24+, or Galaxy S24 Ultra, you can manually check for the update by heading to:
- Settings > Software update > Download and install.
