4 November 2025 at 08:43

The Toyota Yaris Cross is the best-selling vehicle in Finland in October.

New car sales in Finland finally seem to be on the mend, with a 4th year-on-year gain in the past 5 moths in October at +4.6% to 6,096. Due to a difficult start of the year, the YTD tally remains in negative for now at -1.8% to 59,006. Toyota (+50.1%) surges to 22% share, its best since January 2024 (23.5%) and to be compared with 16.1% so far this year. Skoda (-13.3%) is back up two spots on last month but struggles YoY due to a particularly strong year-ago result. Volkswagen (+4.7%) matches the market at #3 ahead of Volvo (-11.5%). Renault (+69.3%), Mercedes (+36.8%), BMW (+17.2%) and Ford (+16.8%) also deliver fantastic lifts in the remainder of the Top 10. Just below, BYD (+138.3%) breaks its ranking record for the 2nd month running at #11, also selling more than 100 monthly units for the first time. Dacia (+357.9%), Mini (+190.9%) and Citroen (+100%) also surge further down. Tesla is down -67.6%.

The Toyota Yaris Cross (+100.4%) rallies back up seven spots on last month to #1 and 7.6% share, double its YTD level where it now ranks #1 also. The Toyota Corolla (+9.6%) and Yaris (+85.7%) exchange their ranking vs. last month to #2 and #3 respectively. The Volvo XC60 is only up 1% YoY but lodges a strong 3.4% share at #4 vs. 2.6% YTD. The Toyota C-HR (+164.9%) is up 8 ranks to complete the Top 5 ahead of an in form VW ID.4 (+38.2%). The Skoda Elroq (#9) and Kia EV3 (#11) are the most popular recent launches.
