Samsung was the only smartwatch brand that flagged a massive downturn in its shipments in Q1 2026. The company’s market share declined from 7 percent in Q1 2025 to 5 percent in the first quarter of the year.

The shipment data reveals that Galaxy Watch shipments declined 28 percent YoY. It signals that the company’s wearable strategy requires revisions. A new set of watches is coming next month, and market share is expected to rise.

Apple led the worldwide smartwatch market with 23 percent market share. The US tech giant flagged a steep growth of 21 percent year-on-year. The momentum will continue as Q3 is set to welcome the next-gen wearables.

Huawei also grew 12 percent, with the company’s market share jumping from 16 percent in Q1 2025 to 17 percent in Q1 2026. The Chinese brand ranked second, thanks to aggressive marketing and push from key markets.

Samsung and a startup called Claros have quietly locked in one of the more technically precise collaborations to surface from the AI infrastructure arms race.

Claros will produce its IVR designs using Samsung Foundry’s US-based 14nm FinFET process. The company’s CEO, Daniel Kultran, has been direct about the friction, saying data center operators keep hitting the same wall because they want integrated voltage regulation but won’t move without volume certainty.

“Samsung’s FinFET process is the manufacturing foundation our IVR needs, and now our customers have a production timeline they can plan around,” said Claros Co-Founder and CEO Daniel Kultran.

Samsung’s Margaret Han, who runs US Foundry operations, signaled that the company sees applications beyond data centers, including industrial and automotive applications.

“Processor-level power delivery is one of the most critical challenges facing AI infrastructure, and Claros is tackling it with a truly forward-looking approach,” said Margaret Han, Executive Vice President and Head of US Foundry at Samsung Electronics.

AI workloads don’t just demand power; they waste it. The industry has been pushing 800 VDC architecture at the rack level, which helps, but stops short.

Without voltage regulation happening millimeters from the actual processor, a significant slice of that efficiency disappears as heat. Claros’s integrated voltage regulator closes that gap, cutting energy loss by up to 30 percent.

This is Claros’s first manufacturing agreement. The company closed a $30 million seed round recently and is now positioned to actually ship at scale.

Quantum machines could solve them in minutes. Post-quantum cryptography (PQC) is the field that is developing replacement algorithms designed to withstand that kind of computational power.

One UI 8.5 brings quantum-resistant encryption to Secure Wi-Fi, which protects connections on public and shared networks.

Among the security initiatives presented by Samsung are:

• New advanced encryption mechanisms for personal data;
• Intelligent threat monitoring among connected Galaxy devices;
• Preventive features capable of identifying suspicious activities in real time;
• Expansion of Knox Enhanced Encrypted Protection (KEEP), an architecture developed to protect personalized AI features.

Apple and Huawei were the only phone makers that flagged positive growth. Samsung, at the same time, managed to keep its sales momentum consistent in a declining smartphone market.

Brands with stable supply chains and high visibility into key components such as memory were able to maintain more consistent pricing and promotional strategies. Apple is in an advantageous position in this regard.

Apple grew 10 percent year over year, while Huawei grew a huge 23 percent. Samsung managed to prevent a sales slump, but ended up facing a sales decline of 1 percent year over year.

Chinese vendors, such as Oppo, Vivo, and Xiaomi, declined 10%, 19%, and 17%, respectively. The phone makers are getting hurt by the rising component costs and the memory price hike.

With supply chain stability emerging as a key differentiator this year, brands with higher supply stability for core components, particularly AI memory, competing with data center demand, widened the gap with their competitors.

One Galaxy Watch 8 Classic owner brought it to Reddit, and the replies confirmed this isn’t an isolated incident. Meanwhile, someone in that Reddit thread (via AndroidAuthority) dug into the cause, and it’s a Wear OS 6 kernel problem.

A zombie process, meaning a process that’s technically finished but still sitting in the system’s memory, creates a deadlock when the app tries to close. When you try to relaunch the app, the OS spots that old process, can’t kill it, and aborts the whole startup.

The fix is the May 2026 security patch. A Galaxy Watch 7 owner installed it and reports the bug hasn’t resurfaced since. Although the May patch’s rollout has begun, it’s still not widely available on Galaxy Watch models globally.

A kernel-level bug is making apps unusable on Galaxy Watches; the only potential fix requires a security update that not everyone may have received yet.

Samsung is clearly treating its foundry business (making chips for other companies) and System LSI (mobile processors and more) as key parts for the entire company.

However, it seems buyers may end up spending more to get the S27 Pro or S27 Ultra for better display, battery, and camera. The top-tier models would be focusing more on these crucial aspects to solidify their appeal in the market.

Samsung is also considering BOE as its display supplier for the base Galaxy S27 model. After BOE executives visit Samsung, TM Roh is reportedly set to visit BOE this month, which could settle a display supply deal.

That said, Galaxy S27 could be the first flagship to get Chinese OLED. It was reported that BOE is offering OLED panels for the next flagship model at a $5 cheaper price than Samsung Display, which is attracting Samsung Mobile.

Since the Galaxy Z Flip 8, Galaxy Z Fold 8, and Galaxy Z Fold 8 Ultra launch with One UI 9 on top of Android 17, what you’re seeing on Pixel right now is a preview of what’s landing on Samsung’s most premium device next month.

Foldable Gaming Mode

Google built a dedicated gaming mode into Android 17 for foldables. It splits the inner display 50/50 game on the top half, with virtual gamepad controls on the bottom.

The gaming mode isn’t fully live yet, even on Pixel. Google confirmed it’s arriving via OTA in the coming months. Given the Fold 8 launches in late July, Samsung has time to ship One UI 9 with this already in place. Timing works in their favour.

Multitasking bubbles

The biggest new thing in Android 17 is Bubbles, a system-wide floating window mode. Long-press any app icon, and it opens as a resizable overlay on top of whatever you’re already doing.

Google says it’s useful for keeping maps, notes, or a sports score up while you work in another app. Combined with the inner display real estate on the Fold 8, Bubbles turns the phone into something that starts closing the gap with a desktop setup.

The Galaxy Z Fold 8 is widely expected on July 22 at Unpacked in London, shipping out of the box with One UI 9 on Android 17. Samsung has confirmed that the stable One UI 9 release on new foldables will include advanced AI features.

Hardware upgrades on the Fold 8 are substantial: a 200MP main sensor, 5,000mAh battery, 45W charging, and Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5. The software story is just as important this cycle, and Android 17 makes a real case for it.

Samsung has reportedly achieved a 3D transistor design milestone, which could reshape and improve future chip performance. The company continues to expand its technological footprint, along with nurturing the Foundry and LSI divisions.

According to ZDNet (via SemiconductorsX), Samsung walked away from VLSI 2026 with the Best Paper award after presenting a 3D Stacked FET design that squeezes more transistors into less space than anything the industry has managed before.

Samsung’s design piles transistors on top of each other, slashing the footprint in half and theoretically doubling density in a single architectural move.

The score was 8.29 out of 10 across a pool of over 1,000 submissions. The company also pushed the gate pitch, the horizontal width of each transistor, down to 42nm from 48nm.

Samsung’s own V-NAND flash and HBM memory both live in three dimensions. The company’s Foundry business has taken serious hits over the past two years.

Yield problems, lost clients, and a general sense that the gap between Samsung and TSMC was widening rather than closing. A Best Paper at VLSI doesn’t fix a fab, but it signals that the engineering talent is still in the building.

Heart Health Score is a composite metric that factors in sleep, stress levels, activity, and body composition data to produce a single cardiovascular wellness index.

Two more features round out the fitness side: Daily Cardio Load, which tracks workout intensity and accumulated exertion over time, and a Fitness Index, which gives users a broader picture of their physical condition and progression.

Samsung is quietly gearing up for the next big step in memory technology. According to recent reports (via @SemiconductorsX), the company is working with partners to introduce equipment for its 7th-generation 10nm-class DRAM, called “1d,” with mass production targeted for late 2027.

Right now, Samsung’s latest is the 1c (6th-gen) process at around 11-12nm. The new 1d shrinks that to about 10-11nm. Smaller lines mean better performance, lower power use, and higher density – exactly what AI systems need.

The company has already been testing samples internally. The current plan is to bring in the new equipment in the first half of 2027 and start real production toward the end of the year.

Why does this matter?

This 1d DRAM is expected to become the core die for HBM5E – Samsung’s high-bandwidth memory planned for 2029. HBM is the super-fast memory that powers AI training and inference in data centers. This stronger manufacturing process will help Samsung remain competitive with SK Hynix in the booming AI memory market.

WhatsApp developers have begun open beta testing of a new About section, which carries a proper live preview screen. It shows exactly how your About text appears inside a chat before you save anything.

Before this update, you were basically guessing. You’d write something, save it, open a conversation, check how it looked, go back, edit it, repeat the whole cycle.

The redesign consolidates three previously separate steps into a single interface, well described by WABetaInfo. You write your About text in the field below the preview. You set an expiration time right beneath that, and a shortcut to privacy settings sits on the same screen.

The expiry options are preset: 1 hour, 8 hours, 1 day, 2 days, 1 week, with a custom setting stretching that up to one month. These durations aren’t new; they surfaced back in November 2025. The redesign just makes them accessible.

You can now toggle Privacy Settings between Everyone, My Contacts, My Contacts Except, and Nobody without leaving the About screen.

The redesigned About section is rolling out to beta testers running WhatsApp beta for Android 2.26.24.1, available through the Google Play Store.

Google, Tesla, AMD, BYD, and others are in talks with Samsung Foundry about shifting advanced chip production away from TSMC, according to sources familiar with the matter.

According to NikkesiAsia (via Jukan), Samsung Foundry is in talks with several global giants for contract production of AI chips.

• Google is weighing whether to have Samsung build its Axion processors, due around 2028, and potentially a portion of its TPUs for AI workloads.
• Tesla’s upcoming AI6 chip will be made by Samsung in Texas.
• AMD is in conversations about future CPUs, also from 2028.
• BYD, China’s electric vehicle titan, is discussing next-generation autonomous driving chips with Samsung.

TSMC has locked up its leading-edge nodes with NVIDIA, Apple, Broadcom, and a roster of others. That’s left smaller-volume customers, particularly Chinese chip designers, scrambling, with several turning to Samsung.

A Chinese auto chip executive reportedly stated that TSMC’s advanced production is full, and Samsung’s availability has made it an increasingly attractive option, even if its yields still trail the Taiwanese chip maker’s.

US clients want production spread across multiple foundries to balance the supply chain and avoid geopolitical concerns. Qualcomm has used both TSMC and Samsung for years; Google is now building out a similar dual-foundry approach.

At AWE USA 2026, Samsung Display showcased its next-gen AR Smart Glasses prototype with advanced technologies, including 40000-nit screens.

The company’s RGB OLEDoS on Silicon technology hit that number on a 1.3-inch panel, demonstrated inside an installation called “The Big Dipper.” Seven panels and two of them push that 40,000-nit figure.

The AR glasses prototype is the more interesting play here. A 0.62-inch RGB OLEDoS panel sits inside the frames, driving real-time translation, navigation, and weather data overlaid against a projected Long Beach coastline.

There’s also an MR headset demo running K-pop concert footage and rhythm game “Synth Riders.” RGB OLEDoS is structurally simpler than white OLEDoS because it skips the color filter.

Simpler structure, better light efficiency, longer lifespan, lower production costs; “less complex than other technologies” is how one company official put it.

Samsung Display also prepared Light Field Display (LFD), which creates three-dimensional visuals that appear to exist in physical space without requiring glasses or a headset. The LFD at the booth shows a 3D-like image of Dabotap, a historic stone pagoda located at Bulguksa Temple, allowing visitors to view the structure from different angles and observe how the image shifts with changes in viewing position and perspective.

The side exhibit includes a stretchable display that physically changes shape and a Light Field Display producing glasses-free 3D images. Both are concept territory for now, but the AR glasses are real hardware.

The S Pen couldn’t swipe between home screen pages and My Files had a scroll bug that stopped users from reaching the bottom of a file list.

Fixes:

1. Fixed an issue where part of the Camera preview screen was cropped under certain conditions
2. Fixed an issue where Widget information, such as Weather and Battery on the lock screen, was not updating correctly
3. Fixed an issue where the home screen would not swipe left or right when using the Pen
4. Fixed an issue in the My Files app where the file list could not be scrolled to the end

This tool is developed by the character Ned Leeds, who uses the Galaxy Z Fold device to track Spider-Man as he moves throughout the movie. What’s interesting is that the tracker is no longer exclusive to the movie; it is now available for Spider-Man fans across the globe.

This new interactive Spidey Tracker provides fans a way to experience real world campaing that includes cast appearances and interviews, spotlighting live activations, content drops, hidden easter eggs, and fan-submitted sightings.

Fans follow Spider-Man sightings and interact with the story in real-time while sharing the same experience with the community.

Apple is about to hand Samsung a gift, and it didn’t even mean to. The iPhone 18 is heading toward a 12GB LPDDR5X RAM floor across the entire lineup, and this upgrade opens up a new opportunity for Samsung memory business.

This time, the entire iPhone lineup would have larger RAM across the board. That’s because Siri’s AI feature suite apparently can’t run properly on anything less. Samsung, SK Hynix, and Micron are set to benefit, as per Digitimes.

Here’s where it gets interesting for Samsung

Apple is projected to ship around 250 million iPhones in 2027. That’s an enormous number, and those devices need DRAM, a lot of it, sourced from a very short list of suppliers that includes Samsung, SK Hynix, and Micron.

Samsung’s memory business will enjoy more shipments of higher RAM chips. Dedicated Apple blog reports that the iPhone 18 would keep prices unchanged despite the memory upgrade, which is good news for Galaxy S27 buyers.

Apple’s absorbing the component price hike rather than pushing it to consumers. It would put pressure on Samsung while deciding its Galaxy S27 pricing strategy. Last year’s models already had a price hike, so another in 2027 is unlikely.

The newly formed Data Sharing Eco Platform reportedly is the operational spine of Samsung’s push to run fully unmanned semiconductor fabs by the end of the decade, 2030.

For years, Samsung kept that data locked inside its own walls. Security protocols made it nearly impossible to export error codes or processing times outside the factory.

DSEP opens a controlled slice of that process data to partners in real time, feeding it into AI models that can flag irregularities and predict failures without anyone boarding a flight.

A bug surfacing across Android phones and Android Auto users this week is blocking Gemini from placing phone calls through voice commands. It’s not isolated to one device or one situation; users are hitting a dead wall almost everywhere.

Multiple Reddit threads confirmed (via 9to5Google) that Gemini fails to dial out when prompted. The error message reads: “Something went wrong. Please try again.”

Meanwhile, it’s not just an Android Auto problem; the same failure is hitting Android phones directly, which means something deeper in Gemini or the Google app is broken.

What’s causing it is probably a bad Gemini or Google app update. The workaround: switching back to Google Assistant appears to stop the bleeding for now.

There’s also a separate weirdness worth flagging. Android Auto has been flashing the old Assistant icon even when Gemini is actually running the response.

For now, frustrated users are saying that Google replaced Assistant with Gemini and somehow made it harder to make a phone call. Even though it’s triggered by the app itself, the user experience is getting ruined, and the aim is at Google.

Earlier this month, more than 30 students from the Frisco Independent School District’s Career and Technical Education program completed a five-day Smartphone Repair Bootcamp at Samsung’s Care Center in Frisco, Texas.

They trained toward WISE Level 1 Certification, a credential developed through CTIA, the wireless industry’s trade association, that establishes baseline competency in mobile device repair across manufacturers and service providers.

Samsung introduced a new Phishing App Risk Alert feature, which will be available on Galaxy devices with the One UI 9 update in the latter half of the year.

The company has spent years bolting security features onto Galaxy devices; One UI 9 is where it stops being reactive. The headline change is how Phishing App Risk Alert now works.

Before, the system blocked the installation of known malicious apps. Starting with One UI 9.0, if an app is confirmed malicious after installation, the system blocks it from running entirely and pushes users to delete it.

Samsung says that if you receive a suspicious voice phishing call and then install an app within a few hours, or if an app gets installed via remote control, the system will flag it the moment you try to open it.

Starting with One UI 9.0, which will be installed on new smartphone models launching in the second half of this year, the “Phishing App Risk Alert” feature will be significantly reinforced. Beyond just blocking the installation of phishing apps, it will also block the execution of already-installed apps if they are confirmed to be malicious.

The One UI 9 official version would debut with the Galaxy Z Flip 8 and Galaxy Z Fold 8 series next month. That said, the new Samsung feature will roll out first with the upcoming foldable phones, followed by a general expansion.

Samsung pulls fraud app lists directly from the National Police Agency. Additionally, the Galaxy Store’s reputation data gets queried at installation.

Samsung Browser is bringing some serious changes in One UI 9, including the naming shift from Ask AI to Ask Anything. The app’s version 30.0.2.45 is available for Galaxy devices, which have plenty of stuff to explore.

Enthusiast GalaxyTechie compiled a list of expansive changes in the Samsung Browser for One UI 9. Galaxy devices running an older OS version may also support the app if sideloaded, but the changes aren’t guaranteed.

The latest version of Samsung Browser makes the dynamic blur application mandatory for all bars. The components adopt a blurred design while keeping transparency. The live webpage would show up as the background, hosting the elements.

Samsung Browser is also letting you tweak the hamburger menu. You can now edit the “More options” page, such as reordering or removing options.

The app has also been linked with the Samsung Notes app to open PDF files. Tapping a PDF file inside Samsung Browser can now be directly opened in the Samsung Notes app for better control.

What’s more, ThatJoshGuy spotted that Samsung Browser now features “Ask Anything” in place of “Ask AI”. This is a major shift in the naming scheme, a big one after the company ditched Ask Plex for Ask Perplexity.

Starting with the Galaxy S26 series, Samsung has renamed the Internet app to Browser. The company has also widely debuted its in-house internet browser to Windows PCs and laptops in a bid to gain some market share in the segment.

We use different apps and services for everyday communications, and they form a massive number of notifications. The Summarise notifications feature practically handles the overload of alerts and intelligently summarises them for you.

The feature, in the meantime, has some limitations, such as support for the device language only. Since it’s powered by AI, you should not solely rely on summaries, as it might deliver conflicting information for certain reasons.

3 | Summarise compatible files

Samsung has also updated its My Files app with a summarization feature. Found under the Settings of My Files, the Show file summaries feature offers AI-powered summaries of PDF and TXT files as well as recordings saved using Voice Recorder.

Huawei is on its journey to develop in-house or rely on Chinese national tech solutions after the United States cut crucial access. Meanwhile, the latest Huawei flagship phones still depend partly on Samsung-made memory solutions.

In a Kirin 9030 and 9030 Pro teardown, SemiAnalysis (via SemiconductorsX) discovered a mix of Samsung and CXMT memory chips, powering the Huawei Mate 80 series flagship phones.

The Pro variant carries 12 GB of Samsung DRAM, two stacks of four dies each, identified as the K4L2E165YD. That’s LPDDR5X-9600 built on Samsung’s 1a node, the fourth generation of its 10nm-class DRAM family after 1x, 1y, and 1z.

Irony doesn’t get much richer than this. Samsung’s 1a has shipped in volume since 2022, which means Huawei is buying current, competitive memory from the company whose country’s government is actively sanctioning them.

SemiAnalysis report pointed out:

China is not closing the gap with Intel, Samsung and TSMC. The teardown shows the opposite in several places: no EUV, no backside power, higher process complexity, and visible trade-offs.

Units surfaced with two different memory packages, depending on who built them, Samsung or China’s CXMT. The CXMT 16GB package, marked CXDD7JEDM and assembled in week 45 of 2025, is stacked the same way.

CXMT is closing the distance, but Huawei still needs Samsung to fill the top of its own lineup.

Chip foundry giant TSMC is reportedly building out a full supply chain for Panel-Level Packaging, the next-generation semiconductor packaging technology where Samsung Electronics has held a quiet, durable lead for years.

ETNews, via SemiconductorsX, reports that TSMC is in talks with equipment and materials suppliers to lock in a mass production system based on Panel-Level-Packaging technology, and the target is early next year.

After absorbing the PLP business from Samsung Electro-Mechanics in 2019, Samsung spent years quietly applying the technology to mobile application processors and power management chips.

TSMC didn’t need PLP when conventional wafer-level packaging was keeping customers happy. Meanwhile, the demand for bigger chips at higher volumes changed the prospect overnight.

What is Panel-Level Packaging

Conventional packaging happens on round wafers.

A 300mm wafer wastes the edges, all that curved geometry that can’t fit a complete chip.

PLP moves the process to a rectangular panel, roughly 600x600mm, offering five to six times the output from the same process.

Notably, TSMC stood up a pilot line in 2025, evaluated it, and is now moving toward large-scale production. The company has reportedly already secured customers among global AI chip players.

Samsung isn’t standing still either. It’s pushing PLP into high-performance computing and AI semiconductors, and it’s eyeing glass substrates as the next packaging frontier.

Largan Precision CEO Lin En-ping didn’t exactly announce anything at a recent shareholders’ meeting, but he didn’t hide it either. He revealed that “Q4 will be busier than usual,” with some devices arriving in Q3 and others pushed to early 2027.

The “reveal first, ship later” strategy Apple appears to be running extends its peak season deep into Q1 2027. The iPhone maker is targeting the Lunar New Year in China as well as Samsung’s mainstream launch event.

Market research firms project Apple could capture nearly 30% of the global foldable market in year one, shipping up to 11 million units.

Over the past few days, Samsung Galaxy S23 owners, including some on the S23+ and S23 Ultra, have been posting about a familiar but unwelcome visitor on their displays: thin green or pink vertical lines that show up out of nowhere.

Right on cue, every fresh round of Samsung software updates seems to bring its own little surprise, and the latest One UI 8.5 rollout is no exception.

The reports started surfacing on X and across Samsung’s own community forums, and by now there are enough of them that it’s hard to write this off as a handful of unlucky units.

One user shared a picture of his S23 Ultra’s screen with a bright green line running top to bottom, insisting the phone had no drops, no cracks, and no water exposure, just a software update that, in his words, turned a pink line into a green one within days. Another user reported the same thing on a Galaxy phone shortly after updating.

Owners in India are being quoted between INR 15,000 and INR 19,500 for an out-of-warranty screen replacement, while a similar repair in other markets is pegged at roughly $205.

This isn’t actually a new problem for Samsung. The “green line of death,” as some forum regulars half-jokingly call it, has been popping up on Galaxy phones for years now, going back to the Galaxy S20 series, with Plus model affected the most.

Samsung Electronics’ Foundry chief threw cold water on recent optimism about the division’s financial recovery, saying a return to profit is unlikely before 2028.

Han Jin-man, president of Samsung’s foundry business, told employees (via KoreaHerald) at an internal briefing Thursday that turning the division profitable “does not look easy even next year [2027].”

“Turning the foundry business to a profit does not look easy even next year,” said Samsung Foundry chief, and added that “There is a high possibility of achieving profitability in 2028.”

His remarks landed just five days after industry sources told Chosun that the foundry unit could break even as early as the third quarter of 2026.

Han pointed to several structural problems beyond the usual cost complaints: a business mix still too dependent on mobile customers, weak technological competitiveness, orders won at margins too thin to matter, and a legacy process business he now wants to exit as the market turns into a “red ocean.”

A newly established employee bonus system, funded at 10.5% of semiconductor division profits, adds another recurring cost layer that analysts may not have fully accounted for.

The Taylor chip manufacturing factory, central to the turnaround thesis, won’t enter mass production until next year, Han indicated, later than some had assumed.

If the Wide Fold lands well, the 60-micrometer UTG is likely to be approved for the Galaxy Z Fold 9 next year. This will be a crucial model that could be the first from Samsung after the debut of Apple’s foldable iPhone Ultra.

Galaxy Z Fold 8 (Wide Fold), the passport-shaped third foldable in this year’s lineup, may ship with Ultra Thin Glass measuring around 60 micrometers thick. Thicker glass means a less visible crease and better resistance to drops.

Samsung Galaxy S24 series – South Korea

Samsung’s 2024 flagship phones, the Galaxy S24, S24+, and S24 Ultra, have started getting the One UI 8.5-based June 2026 security enhancements in South Korea.

Unlike the Galaxy S25 series, the Galaxy S24 phones are not getting the AI-powered Notification highlights features with the latest software; details as follows:

What’s new in June 2026 patch?

June 2026 OTA has patches for 44 Android and One UI vulnerabilities. If your device runs an Exynos chipset, you get 45 fixes. The additional Exynos patch is provided by Samsung Semiconductor with specific improvements.

One UI 9 Beta Program is available for the Galaxy S26 series only. However, the June patch rollout has begun for those running One UI 8.5 official version. Beta Program participants are scheduled to receive the third Beta update next week.

Galaxy S26 users don’t get any significant change with the June update. However, older devices, including the Galaxy S25 series, are rumored to receive a handful of One UI 8.5 features that were missing from the initial package.

Check for updates via Settings > Software update > Download and install.
