According to Italian outlet Tuttomercatoweb, the Red Devils are closely monitoring developments surrounding their former midfielder, who has flourished in Serie A since his 2024 departure from Old Trafford.

The report claims that Man United are ‘leading the way’ to sign McTominay, who is attracting interest from top clubs after his brilliant performances.

McTominay’s move to Napoli initially raised eyebrows, but the Scotland international has silenced critics with consistent performances and an impressive goal return from midfield.

In fewer than two full seasons in Italy, he has netted 23 times, a notable improvement on the 29 goals he scored across seven senior campaigns with Man United between 2017 and 2024.

His dynamism, late runs into the box, and improved technical composure have made him a key component of Napoli’s midfield engine, even earning outside recognition and a nomination for the Ballon d’Or.

Ian Maatsen could be used in swap deal for Juventus star

According to Calciomercato, Juventus could explore the opporunity to sign Aston Villa left-back Ian Maatsen in a swap deal.

The Italian giants could step into the market in the summer transfer window this year to sign a new left-back as they could possibly prepare to part ways with Andrea Cambiaso.

In order to replace Cambiaso, Maatsen is someone they are closely monitoring and the potential move could also involved Douglas Luiz in a swap deal.

The Brazilian midfielder was signed by Unai Emery in a loan deal in the winter transfer window after their injury crisis in the midfield position.

Villa beat Chelsea to the signing of their former midfielder and since his arrival, Emery has used him in every single Premier League match this season.

Douglas Luiz could make permanent return to Aston Villa

His importance has grown at Villa Park, like how it was before his move to Juventus.

Now Emery has the opportunity to bring him back in a permanent move from Juventus and for that, the Premier League side might have to send Maatsen the other way in a swap deal to make the move possible.

Maatsen is reportedly unhappy at Villa and his playing time has fluctuated throughout the season.

That could open the door for him to secure a move away from the Premier League with Juventus showing interest in signing him.

Emery values Maatsen but the manager does not feel that the left-back is untouchable in the squad.

A swap deal involving Luiz and Maatsen would make sense for all the parties involved.

Luiz would get his preferred move to Villa and to the Premier League where he played the best football of his career while Maatsen could start a new chapter in his career away from the troubles in Birmingham.

Aston Villa have the option to sign Luiz permanently at the end of the season for €25m and as per the report, Emery’s side have the same valuation of Maatsen.

It could be a straight swap deal with no money involved but talks have not yet started over this move and things could become more clear in the summer transfer window.

However, a severe knee injury dramatically disrupted his progress, sidelining him for nearly 18 months. Multiple setbacks followed, limiting his continuity and raising concerns about his long-term durability.

Although there were expectations that Malacia might depart United last summer, no deal materialised.

He was gradually reintegrated into the first-team setup, but with his contract approaching its expiration, a departure now seems increasingly likely.

Can Leeds United revive Malacia’s career?

Farke’s tactical system demands intensity and energy from wide defenders, particularly in transition phases.

The attacking midfielder, who joined the club from Crystal Palace last summer in a big money move, has struggled to make an impact at Arsenal this season.

Since his hat-trick against Tottenham in the North London derby, the England international has failed to show his quality for Arteta’s side.

The 27-year-old has often found himself on the bench which shows that the manager does not have complete faith in his ability.

Even in Arsenal’s latest outing against Brentford, Eze was taken off at halftime and replaced with Martin Odegaard.

Following the 1-1 draw against Brentford, which saw the Gunners lose two more points in the Premier League title race, Arteta said, as reported by Fabrizio Romano:

“It’s not easy when you move to a new club and when you play against a team that is like Brentford.

Making the move from Palace to Arsenal has not been easy by any means for Eze.

At Palace, he was the star of the team and the focal point, everything went through him.

For Arsenal, he has a different role. He is one of the many players in the team who can make a difference, which means he sees less of the ball.

At times Arteta has tested him in the playmaker role, something he prefers, but even in that position, Eze has struggled to show his true game.

Against Brentford was the prime example. With Kai Havertz out injured and Odegaard on the bench, Eze could have taken a leadership role in the middle of the park but he was anonymous and did not have any impact on the game.

Five goals and four assists in the league are not bad numbers for a player who has been used in rotation but stats never tell the real story.

Eze has been underwhelming and it is clear to see that from his performances.

That player is Crysencio Summerville, as per former West Ham chief scout Mick Brown, who has claimed that Nuno Espirito Santo’s side could be forced to sell the Dutchman if they get relegated.

“West Ham will have real problems if they go down,” Brown said.

“It becomes incredibly difficult to keep hold of your best players, because they all want to be on top money and playing in the Premier League. Summerville is going to be one of those, I expect, because he’s showing recently he can perform in the Premier League and so there will be interest in him.

“There is every chance they could go down and then if offers come in for players like Summerville, I think they might be forced to let him go.”

West Ham need results in their favour soon since the last part of the season is expected to be seriously challenging for them.

Paul Scholes has praised Tottenham defender Cristian Romero and said that he would love to see him at Manchester United.

Recently, the centre-back was sent off in Tottenham’s defeat against Man United at Old Trafford.
Despite his sending off, Romerto is having a brilliant season for Spurs even though his team is struggling.

The North London club are currently 15th in the Premier League and closer to the reelgation zone than they are to the Champions League spots.

Despite that, Scholes has praised Romero and his character and suggested his former club Man United to take a chance on him.

One of the reasons behind Scholes saying that is because Romero showed his discontent towards the Tottenham board recently when Spurs had only 13 fit players against Manchester City. It was a shot at the club’s January transfer business.

‘Do you know what? I love him,’ Scholes said on The Good, The Bad and The Football podcast.

‘I love watching him play football.

‘He’s p*****d off at Spurs, isn’t he? He doesn’t want to be there. He’s having a go at the crowd, he’s having a go at the board, I think his head has checked out a little bit.

‘But I would love him at Manchester United. I just love his character.’

Romero is an aggressive defenders who gives his all every time he is on the pitch.

Sometimes he over does it and that results in disciplinary action against him, like it happened at Old Trafford.

However, there is no doubt about his quality. He is a World Cup winner with Argentina and has proven himself consistently.

According to Spanish outlet Fichajes, both Liverpool and Tottenham have placed the Marseille forward firmly on their radar and would be prepared to meet a substantial asking price to secure his signature.

The report claims offers in the region of £78 million (€90m) could be considered, a figure that shows just how highly Greenwood is now rated after two prolific seasons in Ligue 1.

Any deal would also have financial implications for Manchester United, who negotiated a 50 per cent sell-on clause when Greenwood left Old Trafford, meaning the Red Devils would receive a significant windfall should Marseille agree to sell.

Kolo Muani arrived at Tottenham with expectations of adding pace, movement, and goal threat to the attack during the 2025-26 campaign.

Liverpool head coach Arne Slot has acknowledged that the club came close to strengthening their defensive ranks during the closing stages of the January transfer window, only to see a potential move fall through.

The Reds, who have been severely stretched at the back this season, explored a deal for Lutsharel Geertruida, but ultimately decided against pursuing the transfer due to its complexity.

“But it’s always about availability and the right player.

“We do have discussions about what is good for the short and for the long term of the club and now, for example, Jeremy Jacquet wasn’t available for the winter, but he was for the summer.

“We’ve made a decision to sign him because we think he’s a really good signing for the future of this club. I’m very happy with the squad. Let that be clear. But it’s all clear and obvious, that we have three long-term injuries (Bradley, Leoni, Alexander Isak).

“That’s why we’ve tried to strengthen the squad in winter break and the player you mentioned (Geertruida), in the end, wasn’t available. But we’ve tried to strengthen the squad – that is clear.

“And that tells you that we think that it would have helped us. But it should be possible that we’re not gonna sign players that are not good enough to play for this club.”

Chelsea midfielder Enzo Fernández is shaping up to be one of the most closely watched figures of the summer transfer window in 2026, with interest growing from across Europe’s elite.

Despite being under contract at Chelsea until 2032, the Argentine’s future is far from straightforward, as sporting ambition, financial reality, and outside interest begin to converge.

Fernández remains a central figure at Stamford Bridge, both in terms of on-pitch influence and long-term planning.

The World Cup winning midfielder has 11 goals and four assists for the Blues this season.

However, Chelsea’s picture means that even players tied down on lengthy contracts cannot be considered entirely untouchable.
