Xiaomi-Mijia-Refrigerator-Pro-Dual-System-French-Flat‑Mounted-560L-Launch-Specs-Price

Xiaomi has announced a new refrigerator in China called the Xiaomi Mijia Refrigerator Pro Dual System French Flat‑Mounted 560L. Long name, we know.

The refrigerator is currently listed for pre-sale at 6,443 yuan ($935), though coupons bring the final cost down to about 5,798.7 yuan ($840) through Chinese retailer JD.com.

Xiaomi Mijia Refrigerator Pro Dual System French Flat‑Mounted 560L Specifications

The refrigerator uses a dual-system design, which means the refrigerator and freezer sections each have their own evaporator and fan. The company claims this setup helps prevent odor transfer between the freezer and fresh food areas while maintaining more stable temperatures.

According to Xiaomi, the refrigerator compartment can maintain temperature fluctuations within ±0.5°C. Both the refrigerator and freezer compartments are also equipped with a full-area ion purification system to reduce bacteria and odors inside the storage space.

Another feature Xiaomi is highlighting is automatic antibacterial ice making. The water inlet box, water circulation system, ice tray, and ice storage box are all designed with antibacterial materials and can make ice automatically while keeping the water pathway cleaner.

Xiaomi says the machine can complete a quick ice cycle in around 55 minutes under typical conditions, though actual times may vary depending on room temperature and usage.

The refrigerator also supports deep freezing down to –30°C. This is suitable for preserving meat and seafood for longer periods.

Large 560-liter capacity and wide freezer drawer

Inside the refrigerator compartment, Xiaomi includes dual moisture-retaining drawers designed for fruits and vegetables. The drawers use what the company calls “water molecule sieve” moisturizing technology.

In simple terms, it’s a humidity-controlling film inside the drawer that helps slow moisture loss, which should keep produce from drying out too quickly.

Meanwhile, as the name suggests, the refrigerator offers 560 liters of total storage, including 360 liters for the refrigerator compartment and 200 liters for the freezer. The freezer uses a wide French-style drawer layout that Xiaomi says is designed for large items like full racks of ribs or large cuts of meat.

The drawer itself uses a three-stage precision steel linear rail system that can support up to 50 kilograms. It also has a separate flat storage tray meant for foods like dumplings or pizza to prevent them from being crushed.

The appliance is available in two finishes — Ice Crystal White and Starry Satin Silver — and measures 892mm wide, 600mm deep, and 1912mm tall. Despite the large capacity, Xiaomi lists the operating noise level at 31dB, which is relatively quiet for a refrigerator of this size.

Samsung’s wide-foldable to feature 7.6-inch main display, 4800mAh battery

15 March 2026 at 07:18
Huawei Pura X

Samsung’s rumored wide-screen foldable just picked up a few more details. A new leak suggests the device could feature a 7.6-inch inner display, a flagship chipset, and a fairly large battery.

According to the leak by tipster Digital Chat Station, the upcoming wide foldable will use a Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 processor. This will bring it in line with the performance of the upcoming Galaxy Z Fold 8 and Z Flip 8.

The phone reportedly uses a dual-cell battery with a typical capacity of around 4,800mAh. The leak breaks this down into two cells — 2,267mAh and 2,393mAh — with a combined minimum capacity of about 4,660mAh. Dual-cell setups are common in foldables because they allow manufacturers to distribute the battery across both halves of the device.

Samsung’s wide-foldable will have an inner screen comparable to Galaxy Z Fold 8 in size

The inner display size is perhaps the most interesting detail. At 7.6 inches, it matches the main display size of Samsung’s current book-style foldables.

However, the key difference is expected to be the aspect ratio. The device will be shorter and wider, giving it a more tablet-like 4:3 layout when unfolded. A broader cover display is typically more comfortable for typing and messaging, while the inner screen can feel more natural for reading and watching videos.

The leak also claims the device will be available in Samsung’s domestic market, meaning Samsung is at least planning a launch in its home region.

Samsung’s wide-foldable design leaks in the One UI 9 build

More broadly, the leak hints that Apple and Samsung may lead the international wide-foldable race, while Huawei and other domestic brands could compete more aggressively in the Chinese market.

This lines up with earlier reports suggesting Samsung is exploring multiple foldable designs at the same time, rather than replacing its existing Galaxy Z Fold lineup. The wide foldable may simply become a new option alongside the traditional tall fold model.

Of course, leaks only tell part of the story. Samsung has tested plenty of experimental hardware over the years that never reached store shelves. Still, the steady flow of details means the company’s wide foldable experiment is moving closer to reality.

Huawei Pura 90 series, Pura X2, Oppo Find X9 Ultra all tipped to launch in April

15 March 2026 at 07:04

March is only halfway through, and there are already several major launches planned, including the Vivo X300 Ultra and the OnePlus 15T. April could be just as busy, as a tipster has revealed a few smartphones scheduled to arrive next month.

According to Digital Chat Station on Weibo, the upcoming Oppo Find X9 Ultra, Oppo Find X9s Pro, and the long-rumored Huawei Pura 90 series are all expected to launch in April.

The list also includes a wide-form foldable Huawei Pura X2, along with two performance-focused phones expected to run on the MediaTek Dimensity 9500 chip.

While Huawei has already confirmed that the Huawei Enjoy 90 series will launch this month, the company’s more premium announcements appear to be waiting until April.

What can you expect?

We already have some context on Oppo’s side. The Find X9s Pro is expected to be a compact phone with the Dimensity 9500 inside, while the X9 Ultra is tipped to be an imaging-focused flagship running on the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5.

As for Huawei, the standard Pura 90 is rumored to feature a 6.58-inch display. The higher-end models in the lineup could feature a larger 6.87-inch flat display designed to deliver a more premium look and feel.

Huawei Pura 80 Ultra

The base model is expected to use the Kirin 9020 chip, while the Pro version may upgrade to the Kirin 9030. At the top of the lineup, the rumored Ultra model could run an even more powerful Kirin 9030 Pro.

Huawei’s foldable plans may also see an upgrade with the Pura X2. The device is expected to feature a wider foldable design compared with the previous generation and could include a 7.69-inch WQHD+ inner display alongside a 5.5-inch outer screen.

Huawei may also continue to focus heavily on camera technology. The foldable is tipped to feature a Red Maple quad-camera system consisting of a 50-megapixel main sensor, a 40-megapixel ultra-wide lens, an 8-megapixel telephoto camera, and a multispectral Red Maple primary color sensor.

Xiaomi reportedly plans major home appliance expansion in India by 2026

15 March 2026 at 02:12
Xiaomi Air Conditioner

Xiaomi is preparing to make one of its most ambitious moves in the Indian market yet. According to a report by Yogesh Brar via Smartprix, the Chinese tech giant plans to introduce a wide range of large home appliances in India during the second half of 2026.

Xiaomi Air Conditioner

If the report is accurate, Xiaomi may introduce smart air conditioners and refrigerators in India, categories that are already common in its home market of China. These appliances could feature AI-based energy optimization, HyperOS integration for ecosystem control, and advanced designs such as multi-door and cross-door refrigerators with touchscreen interfaces and internal cameras.

Xiaomi doesn’t seem to be stopping there. The company is also expected to refresh its existing air purifier and smart TV lineup with high-end upgrades, including QLED and OLED panels, to compete with established brands like LG and Samsung.

However, entering the Indian home appliance market isn’t without challenges. Xiaomi is reportedly conducting extensive local testing to ensure its products can handle India’s unique conditions, including frequent voltage fluctuations and harsh climates. The company is also in the final stages of securing regulatory certifications, such as BIS and BEE ratings, to meet local compliance standards.

While Xiaomi previously targeted Europe with its large appliances, the Indian market presents a different set of challenges. With entrenched competitors like LG and Samsung, Xiaomi’s edge lies in its focus on smart, interconnected products at competitive prices. If its ecosystem-driven strategy resonates, Xiaomi could disrupt the market much like it did in China, where it challenged giants like Gree and Midea.

Indian consumers may soon have access to a smarter, more integrated home ecosystem. The big question is: can Xiaomi replicate its disruptive success in India’s dynamic market? Only time will tell.

Design and Display

Build and Feel

Both phones aim for a premium flagship identity with glass fronts, aluminum frames, and strong water resistance ratings. The Vivo X300 Pro uses Armor Glass and includes Zeiss-inspired detailing that subtly emphasizes its camera-centric design language. The finish feels refined and purpose-built for photography enthusiasts.

The OnePlus 15 opts for Gorilla Glass Victus 2 protection and introduces a distinctive Micro-Arc Oxidation frame treatment on select color variants. Its design leans toward a more performance-focused aesthetic. The availability of multiple back materials also gives it a slightly more versatile style.

Overall, both feel premium, but the Vivo leans toward a camera-flagship personality while OnePlus feels more like a performance flagship.

Display Quality

The Vivo X300 Pro uses a 6.78-inch LTPO AMOLED panel with 120Hz refresh rate and an extremely bright peak output reaching up to 4500 nits. It also supports HDR10+, HDR Vivid, Dolby Vision, and high-frequency PWM dimming, making it particularly strong for outdoor visibility and cinematic playback.

The OnePlus 15 counters with a 165Hz LTPO AMOLED display. The higher refresh rate gives animations and gaming a noticeably smoother feel, even though its brightness is lower than Vivo’s peak levels.

Verdict

For brightness and HDR impact, Vivo has the edge. For ultra-smooth refresh rates and gaming fluidity, OnePlus slightly pulls ahead.

Specifications Including Battery

Performance

The Vivo X300 Pro runs on the MediaTek Dimensity 9500 built on a 3nm architecture. Its custom CPU cluster and Arm G1-Ultra GPU aim to deliver strong flagship performance, especially for camera processing and AI workloads. Paired with UFS 4.1 storage and large RAM configurations, the device is clearly designed for demanding multitasking and media processing.

The OnePlus 15 uses Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 with Oryon V3 cores and the Adreno 840 GPU. This platform is widely optimized for gaming performance and graphics stability, and it often benefits from strong software tuning through OxygenOS. In raw CPU and GPU workloads, the Snapdragon platform may feel slightly more aggressive and performance-focused.

Battery and Charging

Battery capacity becomes a major differentiator. The Vivo X300 Pro carries a large silicon-carbon battery with 90W wired and 40W wireless charging. It offers strong endurance, especially when paired with its efficient LTPO panel.

The OnePlus 15 pushes even further with a massive 7300 mAh battery and extremely fast 120W wired charging. Wireless charging also climbs to 50W and the phone includes bypass charging for gaming.

Verdict

The Snapdragon chip offers an edge for gaming performance, but the OnePlus 15 clearly dominates battery capacity and charging speed.

Camera

Main and Secondary Lenses

The Vivo X300 Pro focuses heavily on imaging hardware. Its primary sensor is paired with Zeiss optics and a large periscope telephoto camera featuring a massive 200 MP sensor and 3.7x optical zoom. The sensor size and Zeiss coating help reduce glare and improve contrast, which can give photos a more professional look. The phone also supports advanced features such as 4K 120fps recording, 10-bit Log video, and Dolby Vision capture.

The OnePlus 15 uses a triple 50 MP setup covering wide, periscope telephoto, and ultrawide cameras. While the hardware is balanced and capable, the sensors are smaller than Vivo’s flagship telephoto system. The OnePlus system feels versatile and reliable, but it does not push camera hardware boundaries as aggressively.

Selfie Camera

The Vivo X300 Pro includes a high-resolution 50 MP front camera with autofocus and 4K recording. This makes it strong for both selfies and video calls.

The OnePlus 15 provides a 32 MP selfie camera with autofocus and HDR video support. It performs well but feels more conventional.

Verdict

Vivo clearly targets photography enthusiasts with more ambitious camera hardware and video features.

Pricing

The Vivo X300 Pro is positioned at approximately $1100 (around ₹110,000). At this price point, it competes directly with premium flagship phones that emphasize camera innovation and advanced display technologies. The pricing reflects the Zeiss imaging system, advanced HDR display, and flagship build quality.

The OnePlus 15 comes in significantly lower at around $900 (around ₹80,000). Despite the lower price, it still offers a top-tier Snapdragon processor, a very large battery, extremely fast charging, and a high refresh-rate display. From a pure hardware perspective, it delivers an impressive amount of flagship technology for the price.

Is the Price Justified?

The Vivo X300 Pro justifies its higher price primarily through its camera system and display brightness capabilities. Buyers focused on photography may see real value in those upgrades.

The OnePlus 15, however, offers stronger overall value by delivering flagship performance and battery technology at a lower cost.

Verdict

For camera enthusiasts, Vivo’s pricing can feel justified. For overall value and performance per dollar, OnePlus looks more attractive.

Disclaimer:
Prices are approximate and may vary based on country, region, and applicable taxes.

Conclusion

Vivo X300 Pro focuses on photography with its Zeiss-tuned cameras, large periscope sensor, and extremely bright HDR display, along with advanced video features like Dolby Vision and 10-bit Log recording. The OnePlus 15, meanwhile, prioritizes performance and endurance with the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5, a massive battery, ultra-fast 120W charging, and gaming-friendly features like bypass charging.

Final Verdict

If choosing just one, the OnePlus 15 is the smarter overall pick. It delivers flagship performance with the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5, a much larger battery, dramatically faster 120W charging, and a lower price of about $900 (₹80,000). The Vivo X300 Pro is clearly stronger for photography thanks to its Zeiss camera system and 200 MP periscope lens, but for most buyers, the OnePlus provides better everyday value, endurance, and performance for significantly less money. Unless the camera system is the top priority, the OnePlus 15 is the more balanced flagship to choose.

Design and Display

Build and Feel

Both devices use Gorilla Glass Victus 2 on the front and back with aluminum frames, giving them a premium flagship feel. The Galaxy S26 stands out with Samsung’s Armor Aluminum 2 frame and slightly more refined finish that feels engineered and polished. The Pixel 10 follows Google’s familiar minimalist design language with a clean aesthetic that emphasizes simplicity rather than flash.

Samsung’s tighter screen-to-body approach also makes the S26 feel more modern and immersive. Meanwhile, the Pixel’s design remains distinctive and recognizable, which some buyers may actually prefer over Samsung’s more conventional flagship style.

Display Quality

The Galaxy S26 features a Dynamic LTPO AMOLED 2X display with a 120Hz refresh rate and 2600-nit peak brightness. Colors are vibrant, contrast is deep, and LTPO technology improves power efficiency during adaptive refresh rate usage.

Samsung’s imaging approach focuses on sharp detail, vibrant colors, and versatile video recording, including 8K video capture. The telephoto lens offers reliable portrait and zoom performance that works well for everyday photography.

The Pixel 10 features a 48 MP main camera, 10.8 MP 5x telephoto lens, and 13 MP ultrawide camera. Google’s camera strength comes from computational photography, including features like Pixel Shift, Best Take, and Ultra HDR. The longer 5x zoom lens also provides more reach for distant subjects.

Selfie Camera

Samsung includes a 12 MP selfie camera with 4K video recording, delivering consistent sharpness and reliable autofocus.

The Pixel 10 uses a 10.5 MP ultrawide selfie camera, allowing wider framing for group selfies and social content.

Verdict

Samsung offers better video capabilities and balanced lenses, but Pixel 10 still feels like the smarter photography system thanks to Google’s AI processing and stronger zoom.

Pricing

The Samsung Galaxy S26 is priced around $900 (approximately ₹88,000), placing it firmly in the premium flagship segment. Samsung positions this model as a compact high-performance device with top-tier hardware, a polished display, and ecosystem features such as Samsung DeX.

The Google Pixel 10 starts around $800 (approximately ₹70,000), making it noticeably cheaper despite offering a large battery, advanced AI software features, and one of the most respected camera systems in smartphones.

From a value perspective, the Pixel 10 looks aggressive. Buyers get Google’s flagship AI experience and strong photography capabilities for significantly less money. However, Samsung justifies its higher price with better raw performance, display technology, and premium finishing.

Verdict

For buyers prioritizing value and photography, the Pixel 10 offers stronger price-to-performance value. For those wanting premium hardware and flagship power, the Galaxy S26’s higher price feels justified.

Disclaimer:
Prices are approximate and may vary based on country, region, and applicable taxes.

Conclusion

The Galaxy S26 distinguishes itself with features like Samsung DeX, Wireless DeX desktop mode, advanced display technology, and powerful Snapdragon-class performance. These capabilities make it feel like a productivity-focused flagship designed for power users who want more than just a smartphone.

The Pixel 10 focuses heavily on Google AI features, including Circle to Search, computational photography tools, and Satellite SOS support. Combined with clean Android software and long-term update support, the Pixel experience feels smarter and more integrated with Google’s ecosystem.

Both phones promise seven years of Android updates, which is impressive and extends the lifespan of either device significantly.

Verdict

If only one device had to be chosen, the Samsung Galaxy S26 is the better overall flagship. It offers stronger performance, faster storage, a more advanced LTPO display, and versatile features like Samsung DeX, making it feel like the more complete premium smartphone. The Pixel 10 remains excellent for AI photography and battery capacity, but the Galaxy S26 delivers a more balanced mix of power, display quality, and flagship features for most users.

Vivo X500 series could split performance with Dimensity 9600 and 9600 Pro

14 March 2026 at 12:46

Vivo’s next flagship lineup may take a slightly different approach when it comes to performance. A recent leak suggests the upcoming Vivo X500 series could arrive with two separate flagship chipsets, giving the standard and Pro models different performance levels. The company is expected to skip the Vivo X400 series entirely, jumping straight from the X300 lineup to the X500 generation.

For reference, the current Vivo X300 series, which launched in October 2025, uses the same processor across both models. The X300 (our review) and X300 Pro are powered by MediaTek’s Dimensity 9500, so there’s no major performance split between them. That may not be the case this time.

The latest leak claims MediaTek is preparing two flagship Dimensity chips for 2026: the Dimensity 9600 and a higher-end Dimensity 9600 Pro. Vivo could be among the first brands to use them.

Exact differences between the two chips are still unclear for now, but the Pro version would likely offer stronger CPU and GPU performance, along with improvements in AI processing or power efficiency.

A split-chip strategy like this would also fit into a broader trend that’s starting to appear in the smartphone industry. Qualcomm, for example, is rumored to be working on a similar idea with its upcoming Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6 platform.

Beyond the processor, another rumored change involves the battery. Some early reports suggest the X500 series could move to batteries around the 7,000mAh mark, which would be a noticeable jump compared with the previous generation if it turns out to be true.

Of course, none of these details have been officially confirmed yet. The Vivo X500 lineup is still months away, with a launch likely sometime in late 2026.

For now, the information should be treated as early speculation. As the launch window gets closer, more details about the devices — and MediaTek’s next Dimensity chips — will probably surface through additional leaks.

Realme 16T and Realme P4R leak reveals RAM, storage variants and colors

14 March 2026 at 11:55

Realme may soon expand its smartphone lineup in India with two new 5G models. Recent leaks suggest the company is preparing to launch the Realme 16T and the Realme P4R, with details about their memory configurations, color options, and model numbers already surfacing online.

The information comes from tipster Abhishek Yadav. According to the leak, the Realme 16T carries the model number RMX5268 and could become the fourth device in the Realme 16 series.

The phone is expected to arrive in three RAM and storage variants:

6GB RAM + 128GB storage

8GB RAM + 128GB storage

8GB RAM + 256GB storage

As for colors, the device may be offered in Starlight Red, Starlight Black, and Aurora Green. The naming suggests Realme might once again lean toward bright or glossy finishes.

Alongside the 16T, Realme is also reportedly working on the Realme P4R, carrying the model number RMX5266. This model appears to target a slightly lower price segment within the company’s lineup.

The leaked configurations for the P4R include:

4GB RAM + 128GB storage

6GB RAM + 128GB storage

6GB RAM + 256GB storage

Color options for the device are said to include Silver Glare, Titanium Glare, and Lavender Glare. Compared to the 16T, the finishes here sound a bit more subtle.

Based on the memory options alone, the Realme 16T appears to sit above the P4R in the lineup, offering slightly higher RAM configurations for users who want a bit more headroom for multitasking or gaming.

For now, other specifications such as the processor, display, cameras, and battery capacity remain unknown. However, Realme has been focusing on longer battery life, faster charging, and improved design in its recent mid-range phones, so similar hardware could appear here as well.

With leaks already surfacing, more details about both phones will likely emerge soon.

5ATM vs 10ATM vs 20ATM: A Simple Buying Guide to Water-Resistant Devices

14 March 2026 at 11:41
5ATM vs 10ATM vs 20ATM

Water resistance sounds straightforward until you compare a smartphone, a smartwatch, and a dive watch. Each device uses different standards, and the numbers printed on the box can easily mislead buyers. That confusion matters because durability has become a major concern for consumers. Surveys show that 44.5% of people now own wearable devices, meaning millions of buyers regularly encounter terms like 5ATM, 10ATM, 20ATM, and IP68.

At the same time, water damage remains a common problem. Around 78 million Americans damaged a smartphone in the past year, and 21% of those incidents were linked to water exposure. Understanding what water-resistance ratings actually mean can help buyers avoid costly accidents and choose devices that match their lifestyle.

Why Water Resistance Ratings Confuse Buyers

One of the biggest reasons buyers get confused is that different devices use completely different testing systems. Smartphones rely on IP ratings, such as IP68, which measure how well a device prevents dust and water from entering the internal electronics. The goal is sealing and protection against accidental exposure.

Smartwatches usually use ATM ratings, such as 5ATM or 10ATM. Instead of measuring dust protection, these ratings indicate how much water pressure the watch can withstand during activity.

Dive watches may also use ATM ratings, but they are typically designed with stronger sealing systems and sometimes follow professional diving standards. Because of these differences, the same number does not always mean the same level of real-world protection.

The simplest rule is to identify the device category first, then interpret the rating.

Water Resistance Levels at a Glance

Water-resistance numbers can look technical, but the difference between them is fairly simple. The rating mainly reflects how much water pressure a device can tolerate during use.

A 5ATM rating is typically designed for everyday wear and occasional swimming. Most modern fitness watches fall into this category because it provides enough protection for rain, showers, and pool sessions.

Moving up to 10ATM offers stronger protection. Devices at this level are better suited for frequent swimming and water sports, where movement in water creates higher pressure on the watch seals.

A 20ATM rating sits in a completely different category. Watches with this rating are designed for rugged environments such as ocean activities, diving, or heavy water exposure. These watches often appear in specialized outdoor or dive-focused models built for demanding conditions.

The higher the ATM rating, the larger the durability margin when the device experiences motion, waves, or repeated water exposure.

Water Resistance RatingTypical DevicesWhat It HandlesReal-World Usage
5ATM (50m)Most smartwatchesLight water pressureRain, showers, pool swimming
10ATM (100m)Rugged fitness watchesModerate water pressureFrequent swimming, snorkeling, water sports
20ATM (200m)Dive watches, ocean watchesHigh water pressureDiving, surfing, heavy ocean exposure
IP68SmartphonesDust + water ingress protectionRain, spills, accidental drops in water

What 5ATM Means for Everyday Wear

A 5ATM rating is the most common level found in modern smartwatches. It is designed to handle everyday water exposure such as rain, sweat, showers, and occasional swimming.

For many users, this level of protection is perfectly adequate. People who primarily use their smartwatch for fitness tracking, gym sessions, and casual swimming rarely need more than 5ATM.

However, it is still considered entry-level water resistance for wearables. Activities involving stronger water pressure, such as surfing or high-speed water sports, can place more stress on device seals than this rating is designed for.

Why 10ATM Is a Noticeable Upgrade

Moving from 5ATM to 10ATM water resistance adds a meaningful durability margin. Watches with this rating are generally built for users who spend more time in the water.

A 10ATM device is better suited for frequent swimming, snorkeling, and water-heavy travel activities. This level is commonly seen in rugged fitness watches and outdoor wearables designed for active lifestyles.

Demand for stronger water protection is also increasing. Travel data from 2025 showed that 48% of sports travelers planned trips involving water sports, which has made higher water-resistance ratings more attractive for buyers who regularly swim or participate in water activities.

For many active users, 10ATM represents a comfortable balance between durability and everyday usability.

Why 20ATM Watches Are Built for Extreme Water Use

When a watch reaches 20ATM water resistance, it moves beyond casual swimming protection and into the territory of rugged outdoor and dive watches.

This rating is designed to handle strong water pressure, repeated exposure, and harsher environments such as ocean conditions. These watches are often built with reinforced sealing systems and more durable construction to ensure long-term reliability.

Specialized ocean-focused brands, including dive watch manufacturers such as Future Wrist Tech, often design watches in this category for people who spend extended time around saltwater environments.

While most everyday users do not need 20ATM, it becomes valuable for divers, surfers, sailors, and anyone regularly exposed to demanding water conditions.

Why Smartphones Use IP68 Instead of ATM

Smartphones prioritize protection against water and dust entering internal electronics, which is why they use the IP rating system rather than ATM.

An IP68 rating typically indicates that a device is protected against dust and can survive accidental water exposure or limited submersion under controlled conditions. This makes it ideal for everyday situations such as rain, spills, or dropping a phone in water.

However, water resistance in phones is not permanent. Over time, seals can weaken due to heat, impacts, and regular wear. This gradual degradation is one reason water damage remains a common issue for phone owners.

Surveys show that 31% of smartphone users damaged a phone in the past year, with water exposure contributing to a significant portion of those incidents.

Lab Testing vs Real-World Use

Water-resistance ratings are determined through controlled laboratory testing, which does not always reflect real-world conditions.

In laboratory environments, devices are tested under stable temperatures and static water pressure without motion or physical impact. Real life is very different. Watches and phones often face drops, waves, saltwater, soap, chlorine, and sudden temperature changes.

Movement in water can also increase pressure on device seals, which means activities like surfing or diving may stress the device more than calm lab testing conditions.

For this reason, manufacturers consistently warn that water resistance decreases over time and should not be considered permanent protection.

Common Water Resistance Mistakes Buyers Make

Many buyers misunderstand water-resistance ratings because the numbers sound more powerful than they actually are.

A frequent misconception is believing that 5ATM means a watch can safely dive to 50 meters. In reality, the rating reflects pressure resistance under controlled testing rather than actual diving depth. Movement in water increases pressure significantly, which can exceed the limits of the rating.

Another common mistake is assuming water resistance lasts forever. Device seals slowly degrade with heat, drops, and daily wear, which means even highly rated devices can become less resistant after years of use.

Some buyers also assume that a smartphone with IP68 protection can safely replace a waterproof watch during swimming or water sports. In reality, phones are designed for accidental exposure, not sustained underwater activity.

Understanding these limitations helps buyers choose the correct level of protection for their lifestyle.

Choosing the Right Water Resistance Level

Selecting the right rating depends on how and where the device will be used.

For smartphones, IP68 protection is generally enough to handle accidental water exposure and everyday environmental risks.

For everyday smartwatch users, 5ATM is suitable for daily wear, workouts, and occasional swimming.

For people who swim regularly or participate in water sports, 10ATM offers stronger durability and a larger safety margin.

For ocean activities, diving, or rugged environments, 20ATM watches, including specialized ocean watches from brands such as Future Wrist Tech, are designed to handle heavier water exposure.

Choosing the correct rating ensures the device is built for the environment it will actually face.

smartwatch vs divewatch

Final Takeaway

Water-resistance ratings only become useful when buyers understand what they represent.

IP68 is not the same as 5ATM.
5ATM is very different from 20ATM.

Each rating reflects a different testing system and a different type of device.

With wearable ownership rising and water damage still common, understanding these ratings helps buyers make smarter decisions. The right level of water resistance can mean the difference between a device that survives everyday accidents and one that fails when exposed to real-world conditions.

Lava Bold 2 5G launches in India with Dimensity 7060 chipset, 2.5D AMOLED display, optical fingerprint scanner

14 March 2026 at 10:59

Lava has added a new model to its budget 5G lineup in India with the launch of the Bold 2 5G. The phone arrives as the successor to last year’s Bold 5G.

The Bold 2 5G features a 6.67-inch FHD+ AMOLED screen with a 120Hz refresh rate. Unlike the curved panel used on its predecessor, Lava has opted for a 2.5D display. Many users find it more practical for everyday use, as it doesn’t suffer from accidental touches as much as curved displays. It retains the in-display fingerprint scanner from last year.

The phone is powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 7060 chipset, replacing the Dimensity 6300 found in the previous model. It comes with 6GB of LPDDR5 RAM and 128GB of storage, along with support for virtual RAM expansion of up to 6GB. Lava is shipping the device with Android 15, and like many of the company’s recent phones, the software experience is expected to remain clean, without unnecessary pre-installed apps.

For cameras, the Bold 2 5G carries a 50MP main sensor paired with a secondary camera that assists with depth or macro shots. On the front, the phone uses an 8MP selfie camera. Unfortunately, this appears to be a downgrade from the predecessor’s 16MP selfie camera.

Battery capacity remains fairly standard for this category. The phone packs a 5,000mAh battery with support for 33W fast charging, which Lava says should comfortably last a full day under typical usage.

Interestingly, the device manages to stay quite slim at 7.55mm, despite the large battery. Lava has also included IP64 dust and water resistance, something that still isn’t very common in this price bracket.

The Lava Bold 2 5G will be available in Feather White and Midnight Black color options. Pricing starts at ₹12,999 for the 6GB + 128GB variant, including bank offers and coupons. The phone is scheduled to go on sale via Amazon India starting March 19.

With features like an AMOLED display, clean Android software, and a capable mid-range chipset, the Bold 2 5G appears to be Lava’s attempt at offering a balanced budget 5G device without pushing the price too high.

Vivo V30 OriginOS 6
Vivo V30 OriginOS 6

Vivo V30 users have started receiving the Android 16-based OriginOS 6 update, which could be the final major upgrade for the device. The latest update offers tons of visual upgrades, along with numerous features and enhancements throughout the system.

The company hasn’t officially announced the rollout yet, like any other Vivo device. However, some Vivo V30 users have confirmed the rollout on the official forum, as spotted by the folks at Ytechb. Currently, the update is rolling out to testers via the OriginOS 6 trial program with the firmware version PD2323JF_EX_A_16.2.6.7.W30. It will soon expand to the remaining users.

Vivo V30 OriginOS 6 update

The OriginOS 6 is a pretty significant update, weighing in at about 4.5GB for the Vivo V30. It’s best to download such hefty update packages over a stable Wi-Fi connection.

If you’re rocking a Vivo V30, check if an update is available on your device via the System updates section in the Settings app. If there isn’t one, you can apply for the trial version and get it sooner. For this, go to Settings > System update > settings/gear icon > Trial version > Update now > Download and install. Remember to charge your device to at least 40% before installing the update. You can also back up important data for additional protection.

Once you’ve upgraded to OriginOS 6, you’ll experience a fresh design, redesigned icons, and plenty of visual changes. It’s much more feature-rich, customizable, and smoother than Funtouch OS. The latest upgrade also introduces Origin Island, which offers real-time updates from supported elements and system features without opening them, along with multitasking support. OriginOS 6 also brings a redesigned Control Center, new clock styles, widgets, and stronger security features, among many upgrades. You can read the complete changelog here.

Well, this could be the last major upgrade for the Vivo V30. The device debuted in 2024 with Android 14 out of the box, and is expected to receive two OS updates at most. Vivo hasn’t officially confirmed the update policy for the Vivo V30, but since the V30 Pro promises just two OS updates, we can’t expect anything better for the regular model. Even if Android 16 is the last upgrade, security updates will keep coming in for a while.

Casio M-Edition Watch Returns: Leica-Inspired Design Back After Quick Sell-Out

14 March 2026 at 02:11

The Casio M-Edition digital watch is available to order again after selling out soon after its launch in January. The watch was developed by PPP Cameras, a UK-based film camera repair specialist founded by Pierro Pozella. The company focuses on restoring vintage photographic equipment. New orders can now be placed through the PPP Cameras website, although deliveries for the current batch are expected to begin in May.

The watch is technically based on the well-known Casio AE-1200WHD digital watch. While the core hardware remains the same, PPP Cameras has added several design changes inspired by Leica M rangefinder cameras. These adjustments mainly focus on visual details that reference the classic camera design.

Casio M- Edition Black
Casio M- Edition Chrome

One of the most noticeable changes is the red circular dial located at the top left of the display. This detail is designed as a reference to the well-known red dot used on Leica camera bodies. The watch also uses a custom red LED for the display light instead of the standard white LED used on the original Casio model. According to PPP Cameras, this choice is meant to resemble the red LED light meter found in classic Leica M cameras.

The watch also comes with a leather strap designed to resemble the leatherette covering used on Leica cameras. PPP Cameras is offering the Casio M-Edition in two finishes: chrome and black. The watch is priced at £160. The retailer ships internationally, though the listed price does not include any import sales tax or customs duties that may apply depending on the buyer’s location.

Like the Casio AE-1200WHD, the M-Edition offers water resistance up to 100 meters, which means it can be worn while swimming. The battery is rated to last about 10 years with typical use. The watch displays the time and date, supports up to five alarms, and can track time across four different time zones.

Galaxy Z Flip 8 leak reveals battery capacity, and it’s disappointing

13 March 2026 at 20:13

Samsung has gradually increased the battery capacity in its clamshell foldables over the past few generations. But that trend may pause with the upcoming Galaxy Z Flip 8, according to a new leak.

A report from GalaxyClub suggests the next Flip will keep the same 4,300 mAh typical battery capacity found in the Galaxy Z Flip 7. That would mark the first time in a while that Samsung hasn’t bumped the battery size for its compact foldable.

Like previous Galaxy Z Flip models, the device is expected to rely on two separate battery cells working together. The leaked figures point to capacities of 1,150 mAh and 3,024 mAh, which combine for a rated capacity of 4,174 mAh. Samsung typically rounds this up to the advertised 4,300 mAh typical capacity.

Even though the overall capacity appears unchanged, the split between the two cells is slightly different from last year’s model. That could simply be the result of internal design changes as Samsung continues refining the Flip’s slim folding body.

Battery capacity staying the same doesn’t necessarily mean endurance will remain unchanged, however. The Galaxy Z Flip 8 is rumored to feature Samsung’s 2nm-based Exynos 2600 chipset, which could offer a significant boost in power efficiency over the 3nm-based Exynos 2500 used in the Z Flip 7. Early tests also suggest the Exynos 2600 offers better thermal behavior under heavier workloads such as gaming or multitasking.

Samsung is expected to unveil the Galaxy Z Flip 8 sometime in July 2026, likely during its usual summer Galaxy Unpacked event. The phone should launch alongside the Galaxy Z Fold 8, continuing the company’s yearly foldable refresh cycle.

Pricing details remain unclear for now, though Samsung has generally tried to keep its Flip lineup relatively stable in price.

For now, the leaked battery information suggests the Flip 8 may focus more on efficiency and internal refinements rather than a straightforward capacity upgrade. Whether that translates into noticeably better battery life will depend largely on how Samsung balances the Exynos 2600’s performance and power consumption.

Can a Smartwatch Handle the Ocean? Dive Watches Still Have an Edge

13 March 2026 at 19:27
smartwatch vs divewatch

Saltwater, crashing waves, and intense sun create one of the harshest environments for any wristwatch. While many modern smartwatches now offer strong water resistance, ocean conditions introduce additional challenges such as corrosion, impact, and extreme temperature shifts.

Nearly 90% of modern smartwatches now offer at least 50 m water resistance, reflecting the growing demand for water-ready wearables, especially since more than 60% of buyers consider water protection a key buying factor. While professional dive watches are typically rated for 200–300 m and tested under ISO 6425 diving standards, improvements in materials and sealing technology are making modern smartwatches increasingly capable in demanding water environments.

Materials and Corrosion Resistance

Saltwater is highly corrosive, making case materials and protective components critical for durability. Titanium is widely used in both premium smartwatches and dive watches because it is about 40–45% lighter than stainless steel while maintaining excellent strength. Its natural oxide layer helps protect against corrosion in seawater.

Stainless steel, typically 316L or 904L, remains a popular choice due to its durability and strong resistance to rust. While prolonged exposure to saltwater may eventually cause surface pitting, proper care and rinsing can significantly reduce this risk.

Modern watch construction also benefits from sapphire crystal, which is extremely scratch-resistant and helps protect the display from sand, rocks, or equipment impacts. Ceramic bezels provide additional resistance to scratches, UV exposure, and saltwater corrosion.

In marine environments, strap materials also matter. Smartwatches frequently use fluoroelastomer, silicone, or nylon straps designed to resist saltwater degradation, while dive watches commonly rely on rubber or marine-grade silicone.

Saltwater Exposure and Seal Engineering

Saltwater exposure requires careful maintenance regardless of watch type. After swimming or surfing, rinsing the watch with fresh water helps remove salt residue. When seawater dries, salt crystals can form abrasive particles that slowly wear down seals and materials.

Smartwatches rely on compact micro-sealing systems to protect sensitive electronics such as sensors, batteries, and processors. Advances in sealing technology have significantly improved water resistance in recent years, allowing devices to operate reliably during swimming and other water-based activities.

Dive watches use a different sealing approach, relying on thicker O-ring gaskets and screw-down crowns to create a stronger mechanical barrier against water pressure. These components can also be replaced during routine servicing, helping dive watches from brands like Futurewristtech maintain reliable water resistance over extended periods of use.

Impact and Environmental Durability

Ocean sports expose watches to repeated shocks, drops, and environmental stress. Many modern smartwatches are tested for shock, vibration, and temperature extremes and can survive drops of around 1.2 meters along with simulated impact tests.

However, smartwatches also incorporate advanced electronics, sensors, and connectivity features that require compact internal engineering. Manufacturers increasingly design these components to withstand active lifestyles and water sports.

Dive watches are mechanically simpler and are traditionally built for extreme underwater use. Their robust cases and fewer fragile components allow them to handle heavy impacts and prolonged underwater exposure.

Heat Resistance and Environmental Stress

Temperature fluctuations also affect watch performance. Smartwatches typically operate within a range of around 0 °C to 35 °C, while rugged models can function from approximately –20 °C to 55 °C. Extreme heat, such as direct sunlight, saunas, or hot car interiors, can accelerate battery wear or stress internal seals.

Mechanical dive watches often tolerate wider ranges, typically between –30 °C and +80 °C. Their thicker gaskets and specialized lubricants help them withstand rapid transitions between hot surfaces and cold ocean water.

Conclusion

Choosing the right watch ultimately depends on how and where it will be used. Smartwatches are ideal for swimming, fitness tracking, and everyday water activities, offering convenient health features and connectivity.

However, ocean environments introduce additional challenges such as saltwater corrosion, surf impact, and prolonged heat exposure. For users who regularly spend time in demanding marine conditions, purpose-built dive watches, particularly titanium models from Futurewristtech, are engineered for long-term durability, strong corrosion resistance, and reliable performance in extreme ocean environments.

Huawei launches Wi-Fi X portable router with 24-hour battery, 5.3Gbps download, 1Gbps upload speeds

13 March 2026 at 18:32

Huawei has introduced a new portable networking device aimed at users who depend heavily on reliable mobile connectivity. Called the Wi-Fi X, the device is essentially a high-performance mobile router designed with live streamers, travelers, and remote workers in mind.

One of the more unusual aspects of the device is its foldable X-shaped design. When opened, the router forms a raised, cross-style structure that helps position its antennas more effectively. According to Huawei, this design can improve signal strength by about 13%.

Battery life is another highlight. The router includes a 12,000mAh battery, which Huawei says can deliver up to 24 hours of continuous internet use on a single device. That capacity should make it useful for extended live streaming sessions or long workdays away from a stable connection.

Huawei is positioning the Wi-Fi X as a tool built with creators in mind. The company claims it offers smoother live streaming in weak-signal environments and enough bandwidth for 4K live broadcasts or quick transfers of large files.

The networking hardware is fairly ambitious for a portable router. Huawei says the Wi-Fi X uses a 4T4R (four-transmitter, four-receiver) setup, paired with triple-carrier aggregation and 16 built-in cellular antennas designed to provide 360-degree coverage. In ideal conditions, the device can reportedly reach download speeds of up to 5.3Gbps and upload speeds around 1Gbps.

To keep performance consistent during heavy use, Huawei has also added an advanced cooling system that relies on dual-layer graphene and high-conductivity materials to dissipate heat.

The company worked with China Mobile to offer a dedicated network service optimized for the device. This includes several priority features intended to improve reliability during tasks like live streaming.

The WiFi X has a price tag of 2499 yuan (~$364) and will be sold with three data-plan bundles through China Mobile:

  • 200GB monthly plan: 199 yuan (~$29)
  • 350GB monthly plan: 299 yuan (~$44)
  • 500GB monthly plan: 399 yuan (~$58)

Availability is currently limited to China. Huawei has not confirmed whether the Wi-Fi X will reach other markets, though a broader release remains possible later on.

Honor Magic V6 Experience: The New King of Foldables?

13 March 2026 at 16:06

Introduction

This is the all-new HONOR Magic V6, the brand’s latest foldable flagship. What caught me off guard immediately was its release timeline. Launching a full quarter earlier than last year’s Magic V5 and making a global debut at MWC 2026, HONOR is clearly playing a different game this year. This raises an interesting question: Why is HONOR doubling down on the foldable market with such aggressive timing? Today, we’re diving deep to see what this device is truly capable of.

https://youtu.be/Warnofc5IU0

Design

From a design perspective, the Magic V6 doesn’t reinvent the wheel. It confidently refines the brand’s signature, unified design language with targeted upgrades. Our review unit features a sophisticated Champagne Gold finish—a subtle blend of gold and light brown that exudes understated elegance. It’s a color that prioritizes premium tactility over flashy, limited-edition hues, and personally, I find it far more appealing.

honor magic v6

We measured the chassis thickness at precisely 9.6mm. While it’s marginally thicker than its predecessor, the Magic V5, the ergonomic, rounded frame makes this difference virtually imperceptible in daily use. Holding it feels remarkably close to a traditional slab flagship, shedding the bulk and heft typically associated with foldables. This is a significant achievement.

honor magic v6

The rear camera module retains the iconic “Octagonal Star Track” design language first seen on the Magic V5. This year, the metal decorative ring has been slimmed down, creating a smoother, more seamless transition between the module and the back cover. As you tilt the device, light catches the precision-machined details on the module, showcasing a mechanical accuracy befitting its flagship status. Subjectively, the camera bump feels more restrained than the V5’s, contributing to a stronger sense of backplate unity and a cleaner, more modern aesthetic from every angle.

honor magic v6-cameras

Weight distribution remains a highlight. Coupled with those rounded edges, the Magic V6 is supremely comfortable for one-handed use and disappears into a pocket during your daily commute. Furthermore, HONOR has addressed a previous shortcoming by introducing comprehensive water resistance. Whether it’s an unexpected splash or use in light rain, the Magic V6 offers enhanced durability and peace of mind.

honor magic v6-back

Display

Both the internal and external displays on the Magic V6 boast top-tier flagship specifications. The main foldable screen is a expansive panel with a 2352×2172 resolution, constructed from UTG (Ultra-Thin Glass). It features a 1-120Hz LTPO adaptive refresh rate, intelligently adjusting to the on-screen content. It scales down for static documents to conserve battery and ramps up to a buttery-smooth 120Hz for videos and gaming, striking an excellent balance between visual fluidity and power efficiency.

Regarding the crease—a primary concern for any foldable—the Magic V6 has genuinely exceeded my expectations. After a week of intensive use, and comparing it to our unboxing footage, the crease remains remarkably shallow, even when viewed under harsh, angled light. During normal, head-on use, it’s virtually invisible. This durability is noticeably superior to other mainstream foldables after a similar period of use.

honor magic v6

HONOR continues to lead in eye comfort technology. Both displays support ultra-high frequency PWM dimming. In extremely low-light conditions, it automatically switches to a high-frequency dimming mode, effectively reducing eye strain caused by screen flicker. For users sensitive to PWM, the Magic V6’s display offers a significantly more comfortable viewing experience.

honor magic v6

Camera System

The most surprising upgrade on the Magic V6 is arguably its camera system, which completely shatters the notion that foldable phones require compromise in photography.

Leading the charge is a powerful 200MP main sensor. Its exceptional resolving power captures an incredible amount of detail. Even after significant cropping during post-processing, images remain sharp and crisp. In low-light scenarios, the large sensor’s light-gathering prowess is fully utilized, enhanced by OIS (Optical Image Stabilization). The resulting night shots are clean, bright, and remarkably free of visible noise.

The periscope telephoto lens supports multiple levels of optical zoom, delivering outstanding image quality even at 3x and 6x zoom. However, at the 6x zoom level, AI processing becomes quite prominent. For landscapes or architectural shots, the results are excellent. But when photographing text, especially indoors, the processing can introduce minor artifacts.

Compared to the class-leading rear cameras, the front-facing camera performs adequately, meeting the needs of daily video calls and online meetings with clear imaging, in line with the standard for foldable devices.

Performance & Battery

Performance follows a predictable yet powerful upgrade path. The Magic V6 is powered by the latest Qualcomm flagship processor, the Snapdragon® 8 Elite Gen 5. Standard memory and storage configurations have also been bumped up from 12+256GB to a more generous 16+512GB.

honor magic v6

Powering the device is a massive 7150mAh “Qinghai Lake” high-density battery, making it one of the highest-capacity batteries found in any foldable smartphone globally. It’s worth noting that the international version sees a slight reduction in capacity. Even so, it will still offer a significant capacity advantage over competitors like Samsung. However, charging speeds remain largely unchanged from the previous generation, supporting 80W wired fast charging and 50W wireless charging.

Conclusion: The All-Rounder to Beat

In my view, the HONOR Magic V6 stands out as a foldable flagship with virtually no weaknesses. It is arguably one of the most compelling foldable devices on the market in early 2026. While its surprise early launch caught some off guard and the body is marginally thicker than its predecessor, the overall package is incredibly solid and refined.

With competitors like OPPO and Samsung set to launch their own new foldables, the current leaks and rumors suggest they will have a tough time beating this “all-rounder” device. The Magic V6’s greatest strength is its uncompromised, holistic user experience. The final, and perhaps only, variable left is the pricing strategy. Based on HONOR’s track record, they are unlikely to disappoint.

Honor X60 GT

In the past few months, Honor has launched three 10,000mAh battery phones in China, and now it is said to be working on a phone that will be 3,000mAh bigger than these existing models. The device, believed to be called the Honor X80 GT, is said to feature a battery capacity far beyond what most smartphones currently offer. Here’s a look at what to expect from this phone.

Honor X80 GT could set a new benchmark for battery capacity

Honor X60 GT
Honor X60 GT

According to a Chinese publication, the upcoming Honor X80 GT may feature a massive 13,080mAh battery. If this claim proves correct, it will place the device among the largest battery capacities ever seen in a mainstream smartphone. Most current flagship phones from brands such as Apple, Samsung, and Google generally ship with batteries close to the 5,000mAh mark.

The rumored capacity is significantly higher than even Honor’s recent devices that focus on long battery endurance. For instance, the recently introduced Honor Win carries a 10,000mAh battery, while the Honor Power 2 features a slightly larger 10,080mAh unit. The alleged X80 GT would push that figure even further, potentially making it one of the most power-packed phones in its category.

The publication also states that the device is equipped with 80W fast charging and a Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chip. It may come with an 8,000-nit bright OLED panel like the Honor Power 2. For photography, it may feature an OIS-enabled Sony large-sensor camera.

The last time Honor’s X-series phone included a GT-branded model was the Honor X60 GT, which debuted with the Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 chip back in April 2022. The Honor X70 series did not include a GT model. It now appears that the X80 lineup may bring back the GT variant.

Reports suggest that the handset may debut sometime in the first half of the year. Until Honor officially confirms the device, the battery specification and other details should be treated as early information rather than final specifications.

iQOO Neo 11 launch reportedly cancelled for 2026 as company focuses on more powerful phones

13 March 2026 at 11:52
iQOO Neo 11

Reports suggest that iQOO could change its smartphone launch strategy in India this year. The development may impact the arrival of the iQOO Neo 11, which was announced in China last year and is typically expected to reach India later.

iQOO Neo 11 may skip India launch in 2026

iQOO Neo 11
iQOO Neo 11

According to a report by Gadgets360 citing sources familiar with the matter, iQOO may not introduce any new Neo series smartphone in India in 2026. If the information proves accurate, the iQOO Neo 11 may not arrive in the country despite its earlier debut in China in October 2025.

The Neo lineup has traditionally served as iQOO’s upper mid-range offering in India. These devices usually combine near-flagship processors, high refresh rate displays and fast charging capabilities at relatively competitive prices. The last models from the series in India were the iQOO Neo 10R, which launched in March 2025 starting at Rs 26,999 (~$290), followed by the iQOO Neo 10 that debuted later at Rs 31,999 (~$350).

The report suggests that the decision is part of a broader shift in strategy as smartphone brands deal with rising component costs and increasing device prices. Companies are increasingly focusing on clearer product differentiation rather than maintaining several overlapping lineups.

Instead of launching a new Neo phone, iQOO is said to be strengthening its flagship-focused approach. The company recently expanded its premium lineup with the iQOO 15R in India, which targets professionals and power users with high-performance hardware.

Meanwhile, the iQOO Neo 11 that debuted in China features a Snapdragon 8 Elite chipset along with the brand’s Q2 gaming chip. It also offers a 6.82-inch LTPO AMOLED display, a 7,500mAh battery with 100W wired fast charging support, and a dual rear camera system.

While the Neo lineup may take a break in India this year, iQOO continues to introduce new devices in other segments. The company recently launched the iQOO 15R and Z11x phones in India.

Google Pixels eligible for Android 17 update: Here’s the complete list

13 March 2026 at 11:01
Google Pixel Android 17 eligible devices list
Google Pixel Android 17 eligible devices list

Android 17 development is in full swing. Google has already released two beta builds in a short time, and with the improved development cycle, the final version is expected to arrive as early as the second quarter.

The stable release is still a few months away, but Google Pixel users can install the beta build right now to play with the latest features and upgrades, but only if you have an eligible device. Review the list below to find out if your Google Pixel is eligible for an upgrade to Android 17.

These Google Pixels are eligible for the Android 17 update

  • Pixel 10
  • Pixel 10 Pro
  • Pixel 10 Pro XL
  • Pixel 10 Pro Fold
  • Pixel 10a
  • Pixel 9
  • Pixel 9 Pro
  • Pixel 9 Pro XL
  • Pixel 9 Pro Fold
  • Pixel 9a
  • Pixel 8
  • Pixel 8 Pro
  • Pixel 8a
  • Pixel Tablet
  • Pixel Fold
  • Pixel 7
  • Pixel 7 Pro
  • Pixel 7a
  • Pixel 6
  • Pixel 6 Pro
  • Pixel 6a

It’s worth pointing out that Google hasn’t included the Pixel 10a on the list of eligible devices for the beta program. That’s likely because it was released after the Android 17 Beta 2 went live, and Google may not have updated the list since then. The Pixel 10a should be supported by the next beta release, which could arrive later this month.

Unfortunately, this will be the last major Android OS upgrade for the Pixel 6 and Pixel 6 Pro, as their update support ends in October. That also means these Google Pixels will likely miss out on the QPR2 release. Still, it’s impressive to see them included on the Android 17 list, given that they were launched with Android 12. That’s a solid five Android OS upgrades in total.

Google’s Android 17 release timeline

The first beta was released on February 13, and Google quickly followed up with the second beta in the same month. The platform stability phase begins this month, per the official timeline. That’s when SDK/NDK APIs and app-facing behaviors are finalized.

The final version of Android 17 could arrive around June 2026. If you can’t wait that long, sign up for the beta testing and install it on your device. You can read this article for detailed instructions.

We’ll continue to update you with fresh developmenets in our Android 17 section. Be sure to visit it regularly for the latest information. Or, join our Telegram channel to get instant notifications about the latest happenings in tech.

Oppo Find X9 Pro

Oppo is expected to expand its Find X9 lineup with two new models. One of them is rumored to be the Find X9s Pro, a compact smartphone powered by a Dimensity 9500 processor.

While the company hasn’t officially confirmed the phone yet, tipster Digital Chat Station has already spilled the beans on its specifications.

Oppo Find X9s Pro Specifications

According to the insider, the rumored Find X9s Pro may feature a 6.32-inch flat display supplied by Tianma. The panel is said to have a 1.5K resolution and use LTPS technology, paired with LIPO packaging to keep the bezels thin.

Powering the device will be the MediaTek Dimensity 9500 chipset. As for the cameras, the leak suggests that the Find X9s Pro may include two separate 200-megapixel sensors.

The primary camera is said to use a 200MP Samsung HP5 sensor with a 1/1.56-inch size. That’s paired with another 200MP HP5 sensor in a 3x periscope telephoto setup.

Alongside those sensors, the phone is also rumored to include:

  • a 50MP ultra-wide camera
  • a 3.2MP Danxia color restoration lens
  • a 32MP front-facing camera

The Danxia color restoration sensor is expected to improve color accuracy in photos.

All of this is said to be backed by a battery larger than 7,000mAh. Charging speeds are expected to reach 80W wired, and the device may also support wireless charging.

The phone is also tipped to include IP68 and IP69 ratings for dust and water resistance. Security could rely on a 3D ultrasonic fingerprint scanner. Last but not least, the tipster suggests the device will have an orange magnetic case, and the device has a very Apple feel.

For now, these specifications remain part of a leak and should be treated cautiously. Oppo has not officially confirmed the Find X9s Pro or its hardware yet.

Hisense 2026 ULED MiniLED TVs Arrive With 165Hz Refresh Rate and Dolby Atmos Audio

13 March 2026 at 00:37
Hisense 2026 ULED MiniLED TVs

Hisense has announced its 2026 ULED MiniLED TV lineup with new models in the U6 and U7 Series. The company says the new range focuses on delivering MiniLED performance, large screen sizes, and modern features at more accessible prices. The U7 Series is available starting today, while the U6 Series will begin reaching retailers in the coming weeks.

Hisense 2026 ULED MiniLED TVs

The new lineup comes ahead of the FIFA World Cup 2026, which will take place in the United States. Hisense expects the event to drive interest in larger televisions for watching sports at home. The ULED category, which includes the U6 and U7 models, sits in the middle of Hisense’s TV portfolio in terms of performance and pricing. The company will later introduce an RGB MiniLED Series as its ultra-premium tier above the ULED range.

The U7 Series is positioned as the higher-performance option in the lineup. It is built for sports viewing, gaming, and large-screen home entertainment. The TVs use thousands of MiniLED backlights to control brightness and contrast more precisely. The display is powered by Hi-QLED MiniLED Pro technology with Full Array Local Dimming and the Hi-View AI Engine Pro, which manages picture processing across sports broadcasts, movies, and streaming content.

Motion handling is a key feature of the U7 Series. The TVs include a native 165Hz refresh rate along with motion processing designed to keep fast action smooth during sports and gaming. This helps reduce blur and maintain clear movement during high-speed scenes.

Screen sizes in the U7 lineup reach up to 116 inches. Hisense says the large display options are designed for shared viewing, such as watching live sports or movies with a group. Audio is handled by a 50W 2.1.2 channel sound system that supports Dolby Atmos and DTS Virtual:X. The system is designed to deliver room-filling sound without requiring additional speakers.

The U7 Series will be available in two smart TV versions. The U7SG models run Google TV, while the U7SF models use Fire TV.

The U6 Series focuses on bringing MiniLED technology to a wider range of buyers. The lineup includes the U6SF Pro and the standard U6SF models. These TVs use Hi-QLED MiniLED displays with Full Array Local Dimming and Quantum Dot color to improve brightness, contrast, and color accuracy across different types of content.

The U6 models also include AI-driven picture optimization that automatically adjusts image settings depending on what is being watched. Sound is improved through an integrated subwoofer and support for Dolby Atmos. Screen sizes in the U6 lineup range from 55 inches to 100 inches. All models in the series run Fire TV OS.

Pricing & availability

The U7 Series starts at $1,299 and is available through retailers including Best Buy, Amazon, Walmart, and other partners. The U6 and U6 Pro Series will roll out in the coming weeks with multiple size and model options.

Xiaomi Pad 8 vs OnePlus Pad Go 2: Which is a Better Pick?

12 March 2026 at 18:16
Xiaomi Pad 8

Xiaomi has just launched the Xiaomi Pad 8 in India, expanding its tablet lineup in the country. It now joins another strong competitor in the segment, the OnePlus Pad Go 2, which is slightly more affordable while still offering competitive specifications.

Here is a detailed comparison to help you decide which one suits your needs better.

Xiaomi Pad 8

Design and Display

The Xiaomi Pad 8 comes with an 11.2-inch 3.2K LCD display, offering a 3:2 aspect ratio and a 144Hz adaptive refresh rate. The screen supports Dolby Vision and HDR10, ensuring a smooth and vibrant viewing experience.

Xiaomi has also included TÜV Rheinland-certified low blue light technology for eye comfort. The Nano Texture Display version reduces reflectivity by 70% with AG nano-texture and AR coating, making it ideal for outdoor use. The tablet has a slim 5.75mm full-metal unibody design, giving it a premium feel.

The OnePlus Pad Go 2 features a 12.1-inch 2.8K LCD display with a 7:5 aspect ratio and a 120Hz refresh rate. The panel can reach up to 900 nits of peak brightness, making it brighter than the Pad 8’s display, which is rated at 800 nits.

It also supports Dolby Vision for enhanced color accuracy. The design has slightly thicker bezels and a 6.83mm thickness, making it less slim but still well-built.

Winner: Xiaomi Pad 8

Performance and Software

The Xiaomi Pad 8 is powered by the Snapdragon 8s Gen 4, an octa-core processor clocked at 3.21GHz, paired with up to 12GB of LPDDR5T RAM and UFS 4.1 storage.

This setup ensures flagship-level performance, making it a powerhouse for multitasking, gaming, and professional use.

It runs on Xiaomi HyperOS 3, which integrates well with Xiaomi’s ecosystem and introduces features like a PC-level browser, Workstation Mode, and HyperAI for interconnectivity.

The OnePlus Pad Go 2 uses the MediaTek Dimensity 7300-Ultra, a capable mid-range processor paired with 8GB of LPDDR5X RAM.

While it handles everyday tasks smoothly, it doesn’t match the raw power of the Xiaomi Pad 8.

The tablet runs on OxygenOS 16, which offers seamless integration with OnePlus and Oppo devices, including screen mirroring and file sharing.

Winner: Xiaomi Pad 8

Battery and Charging

The Xiaomi Pad 8 packs a 9200mAh battery with 45W fast charging, promising 9.3 hours of video playback. It also supports reverse charging, which is useful for powering accessories.

The OnePlus Pad Go 2 comes with a larger 10,050mAh battery, but its 33W SuperVooc charging is slower. On the plus side, it offers 60 days of standby time and extended video playback of up to 15 hours.

Winner: Tie

Cameras and Audio

The Xiaomi Pad 8 includes a 13MP rear camera and an 8MP front camera. It supports 4K video recording, which makes it a better option for users who need high-quality video. The tablet comes with quad speakers featuring Dolby Atmos for immersive audio.

The OnePlus Pad Go 2 offers an 8MP rear camera and an 8MP front camera. It supports video recording up to 1080p, which limits its appeal for advanced camera use. The tablet also includes quad speakers with Dolby Atmos, delivering comparable audio performance to Xiaomi.

Winner: Xiaomi Pad 8

Pricing and Value

The Xiaomi Pad 8 starts at ₹33,999 for the base 8GB+128GB variant and goes up to ₹38,999 for the 12GB+256GB Nano Texture Display option. Accessories like the Focus Pen Pro (₹5,999) and keyboard (₹4,999-₹8,999) add to the cost.

The OnePlus Pad Go 2 starts at ₹26,999 for the 8GB+128GB Wi-Fi model, with the 8GB+256GB 5G variant priced at ₹32,999. While more affordable, it lacks the premium features of the Xiaomi Pad 8.

Xiaomi offers better features for its price, but OnePlus provides affordability and 5G support in its top model.

Winner: Xiaomi Pad 8

Which One Should You Buy?

If you’re looking for a powerful tablet with a better display, flagship-level performance, and advanced productivity features, the Xiaomi Pad 8 is the clear winner.

However, if you’re on a tighter budget and value battery life and OnePlus ecosystem integration, the OnePlus Pad Go 2 is a solid alternative.

Honor tipped to test 6.36″ compact flagship with 8,000mAh battery

12 March 2026 at 17:28
Honor Magic 8 Pro

Honor could be preparing an unusual compact flagship if a new leak is accurate. According to well-known Weibo tipster Digital Chat Station, the company is testing a smartphone with a 6.36-inch display paired with an unusually large battery for its size.

Honor Magic 8 Pro
Honor Magic 8 Pro

The device is said to feature a flat 6.36-inch display, putting it firmly in the compact flagship category alongside the upcoming OnePlus 15T. What makes the rumored Honor phone stand out, however, is its roughly 8,000mAh battery. If accurate, it could represent a significant jump in runtime over some already impressive numbers we saw last year.

For context, phones released in 2025 in this size range — such as the Vivo X300, Xiaomi 17 Pro, and OnePlus 13T — carry batteries between 6,000mAh and 6,300mAh. Rumors surrounding the upcoming OnePlus 15T suggest a 7,500mAh battery, which is still notably smaller than what the Honor phone is rumored to pack.

The large capacity comes from improvements in silicon-carbon battery technology that Honor has achieved over the past few years. It has already allowed the company to pack a massive 10,000mAh battery into the Honor Win, a 6.83-inch smartphone. The device reportedly delivered more than 32 hours of Wi-Fi web browsing in tests.

Beyond battery life, the leak also points to a few flagship-grade features for the upcoming compact flagship. The phone is expected to include wireless charging, an ultrasonic fingerprint sensor, and a periscope telephoto camera for improved zoom capabilities. The exact model name is still unclear. It could belong to the Magic series, though it remains speculation for now.

There’s still no word on the chipset, display refresh rate, charging speeds, or launch timeline. But the leak comes not long after Honor introduced the Honor Magic V6 in China, suggesting the company may be preparing its next wave of flagship devices. For users who want smaller phones without sacrificing battery life, this could be one to watch if the details prove accurate.

One UI 8.5 beta is no longer exclusive to the Galaxy S25 series

Samsung One UI 8.5 beta program expansion
Samsung One UI 8.5 beta program expansion

As the Galaxy S26 series hits shelves, Samsung has shifted its focus back to the One UI 8.5 beta program, which began in December 2025. For a long time, it remained exclusive to the Galaxy S25 series, but that changed today, as the brand has just released the first One UI 8.5 beta for the Galaxy Z Fold 7 and Galaxy Z Flip 7.

We knew it was coming. Earlier this week, One UI 8.5 beta builds for the Galaxy Z Fold 7 and Galaxy Z Flip 7 were spotted on Samsung’s servers, and shortly after, Samsung created One UI 8.5 beta program sections for the devices on its community forum.

For the Galaxy Z Fold 7 and Galaxy Z Flip 7, the first One UI 8.5 beta comes with a firmware version ending in ZZC5 (via) and a hefty download size of 4.2GB. As of writing this post, the beta has been spotted in India and South Korea. It will also expand to a few more regions, including the US, the UK, Poland, and Germany.

  1. Open the Samsung Members app on your phone.

This rugged phone includes a 30,000mAh battery, 200MP main camera, and IP69K protection

12 March 2026 at 15:37

Energizer is preparing to re-enter the smartphone spotlight with the Energizer P30K Apex, a rugged handset built around one standout feature: an enormous 30,000mAh battery. The device appears to target users who prioritize endurance over slim design.

If the specifications hold true, the P30K Apex could easily rank among the longest-lasting smartphones on the market. Energizer claims the phone can last up to a month on standby or light mixed use, thanks to its massive battery capacity. For perspective, that’s roughly equivalent to the combined capacity of around seven iPhone 17 Pro batteries. While real-world results will obviously vary depending on how heavily the device is used, it still represents a dramatic jump compared to the typical 4,000–7,000mAh batteries found in most smartphones today.

The phone supports 66W fast charging over USB-C. That should at least keep recharge times somewhat reasonable, even though filling a 30,000mAh cell will still require patience.

Beyond the battery, the hardware is fairly capable for a midrange rugged device. The P30K Apex reportedly runs on MediaTek’s Dimensity 7300 chipset, paired with 12GB of RAM and 512GB of storage. This combination should handle everyday apps, multitasking, and moderate gaming fairly well.

On the front, the phone features a large 6.95-inch IPS display with a 2460 × 1080 resolution. Camera hardware also looks surprisingly ambitious. The rear setup includes a 200MP main sensor, alongside 50MP and 5MP secondary cameras, while selfies are handled by a 50MP front camera. As with many high-resolution sensors, the real-world results will depend heavily on processing, but the numbers certainly stand out on paper.

Durability is another key focus. The P30K Apex carries an IP69K rating, meaning it should withstand dust, water, and high-pressure conditions. The phone is aimed at workers, travelers, and outdoor enthusiasts.

The Energizer P30K Apex is expected to launch in June 2026 with a price tag of €399 (roughly $435). If it delivers on its endurance claims, it could appeal to users who are tired of daily charging and are willing to trade slimness for extreme battery life.

Oppo Find X9 Ultra camera leaks in detail ahead of launch

12 March 2026 at 11:56

The Oppo Find X9 Ultra is expected to be announced soon, though we are still waiting for when and where. Luckily, leaks have already revealed much of what to expect from the phone’s hardware. A new tip from Digital Chat Station today further confirms the rumored specs.

According to the latest details, the main camera is expected to use a 200-megapixel Sony LYTIA 901 sensor with optical image stabilization. The sensor reportedly measures 1/1.12 inches. The device is also expected to include a 50-megapixel ultra-wide camera using Samsung’s JN5 sensor.

On top of that, the Find X9 Ultra will have two periscope cameras, including a 200-megapixel telephoto lens with 3x optical zoom powered by the OV52A sensor, and a 50-megapixel periscope with 10x optical zoom. There’s also mention of a 3.2-megapixel “Danxia” color restoration lens.

On the front, the device is expected to feature a 50-megapixel autofocus selfie camera.

The display, according to the leak, will likely be a 6.82-inch flat OLED panel with 2K resolution, likely with a 120Hz refresh rate.

What else can you expect?

Inside, the phone is rumored to run on the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 chipset. The software is expected to be ColorOS 16 running on top of Android 16.

Oppo Find X9 Ultra global launch teaser

The Find X9 Ultra is expected to feature a 7,050mAh battery. That’s slightly smaller than the 7,500mAh unit on the Pro model but still larger than the battery found in the previous Oppo Find X8 Ultra, which has a 6,100mAh cell. Charging speeds are said to reach 80W wired and 50W wireless.

There are also hints of a special “Master Kit” configuration with 16GB of RAM and 1TB of storage, possibly paired with exclusive design elements. However, the leak doesn’t go into detail about what those changes might be.

Xiaomi shows its first laptop in three years, the Xiaomi Book Pro 14

Xiaomi-Book-Pro-14-in-Blue

Xiaomi has started teasing its new laptop for launch in China, called the Xiaomi Book Pro 14. It’s the first Xiaomi-branded laptop in three years since the launch of the Xiaomi Book 14 in 2023.

According to teaser images shared by the company, the laptop will arrive in three colors: Soft Fog Blue, White, and Elegant Gray. As you can see, the laptop has a flush and slim metallic look.

The Book Pro 14 uses a unibody die-cast magnesium alloy body paired with a high-strength carbon fiber bottom shell. Xiaomi also says the keyboard support plate has been upgraded to a lighter titanium alloy structure. All of this contributes to a surprisingly low weight of just 1.08kg.

As for performance, Xiaomi confirmed that the laptop will feature the latest Intel Core Ultra X7 358H processor. To keep that chip running efficiently, the company says it has added a large 10,000mm² vapor chamber cooling module along with a high-speed silent fan and a three-dimensional airflow system. Xiaomi claims this setup allows the laptop to sustain up to 50W of performance.

What else can you expect?

Fortunately, a previous report tipped a few more details about the device. The Xiaomi Book Pro 14 will come with a 14-inch display and weigh roughly around one kilogram. It will reportedly also be offered with the slightly more modest Intel Core Ultra 5 325 processor alongside the Core Ultra X7 chip.

The Ultra 5 325 is built on Intel’s 18A process and includes an 8-core layout in a 4P + 4LPE configuration. It runs with 8 threads and can reach boost speeds of up to 4.5GHz.

Meanwhile, the Ultra X7 358H has a 16-core structure arranged in a 4 + 8 + 4 configuration. That chip can reach speeds of up to 4.8GHz, comes with 18MB of L3 cache, and integrates Intel’s Radiant B390 graphics.

Memory options could include a configuration with 24GB of RAM and 1TB of storage, and another with 32GB of RAM paired with the same 1TB SSD.

DJI Avata 360 hands-on images, full bundle pricing leaks ahead of March 26 launch

12 March 2026 at 02:09

According to the latest information from leaker Jasper Ellens, several European retailer listings have revealed possible pricing for the upcoming DJI Avata 360 and its bundles. The base model is reportedly listed at €459, which would make it relatively affordable compared to other high-end 360-degree camera drones.

Several bundle options are also expected. One version, the Avata 360 Fly More Combo with the RC 2 controller, is said to cost €939. Another configuration, called the Motion Fly More Combo, includes the RC Motion 3 controller and Goggles N3, also priced at €939. A higher-end Premium Combo, which includes Goggles N3 and the RC 2 controller, is listed at around €1,159.

Accessories appear fairly reasonably priced as well. Leaked listings suggest the Intelligent Flight Battery may cost about €79, while replacement lens kits and propellers could be sold separately for around €21 and €9, respectively.

If these details are accurate, DJI may be aiming to compete directly with drones like the Insta360 Antigravity A1, particularly by keeping entry pricing relatively low while still offering features such as replaceable lenses and larger batteries.

A recent teasers from DJI also hints at some of the drone’s capabilities. The company described the Avata 360 as an “8K Flagship 360° Drone,” confirming support for 8K 360° video recording. The teaser also reveals a launch date of March 26, 2026, while current leaks suggest shipments in Europe could begin around April 9.

Meanwhile, a few hands-on images shared online have offered an early look at the drone’s design. The photos show a compact quadcopter with a protective propeller cage and a central camera system designed for dual-lens 360-degree capture.

The overall shape appears somewhat similar to the DJI Avata 2, although the frame looks slightly more protective.

OnePlus 15T appears in detailed hands-on images for the first time in multiple colors

11 March 2026 at 20:42

OnePlus has finally shown its upcoming OnePlus 15T in public, giving fans an early look at the company’s next compact flagship. The phone appeared during a livestream, where OnePlus highlighted the design and some of the hardware features. From what we’ve seen so far, the company is clearly aiming to deliver strong flagship performance in a smaller, easier-to-handle phone.

The OnePlus 15T will be available in three colors: Pure Cocoa, Relaxing Matcha, and Healing White Chocolate. The white version seems to be the most distinctive. OnePlus is reportedly using a micro-arc oxidation process on both the metal frame and the rear panel to create a uniform white finish.

The other two colors use a more familiar AG frosted glass back, designed to keep fingerprints under control while maintaining a slightly matte texture. Overall, the design looks fairly minimal. The edges are rounded, and the camera module sits close to the back panel rather than sticking out dramatically.

OnePlus also spent some time talking about ergonomics. The phone measures around 71.82mm in width and weighs roughly 194 grams. The company claims the weight is evenly balanced, which should make the phone feel comfortable during longer use.

On the front, the OnePlus 15T features a 6.32-inch flat display with slim bezels. What’s more surprising is the battery. Despite the relatively compact size, the device is set to pack a 7,500mAh battery, which is unusually large for a phone in this category. Charging support includes 100W wired charging and 50W wireless charging, along with bypass charging for gaming.

Camera details are still somewhat limited, but OnePlus confirmed an upgraded LUMO periscope telephoto lens. The rest of the camera setup hasn’t been fully detailed yet. Other features mentioned include a 3D ultrasonic fingerprint scanner, improved haptics, stereo speakers, and IP66, IP68, and IP69 ratings for water and dust resistance.

The OnePlus 15T is expected to launch in China later this month, with global availability likely to follow sometime after that. More official details should arrive soon.

Vivo X300 Ultra 200MP main and telephoto samples reveal up to 1600mm equivalent zoom

11 March 2026 at 20:20

Vivo’s upcoming X300 Ultra is starting to appear more frequently in leaks and teasers, and the company is once again putting a strong focus on camera hardware. In the latest teaser, Vivo executive Han Bo Xiao shared early camera samples on Weibo.

The posts highlight the phone’s primary and telephoto camera, which uses the 200MP Sony LYT-901 and 200MP Samsung ISOCELL HPO sensor, respectively. Unlike many smartphones that stick closer to a 23–24mm focal length for the main camera, this one uses a 35mm equivalent lens for the main camera. The camera is tuned in collaboration with Zeiss, something Vivo has relied on heavily in its flagship models.

The sensor is reportedly capable of capturing about 30 percent more light per pixel compared to previous generations. Some of the shared images show strong details and fairly natural colors. The size of the main sensor is also quite large at 1/1.12 inches, which should help with low-light photography.

Vivo is also said to support external teleconverter accessories, allowing focal lengths around 200mm or 400mm. In one of the examples shared online, zoom levels equivalent to roughly 1600mm have been demonstrated, though that clearly involved heavy digital cropping.

Beyond cameras, the phone has also surfaced on Geekbench under model number V2562. The listing points to Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 chipset, along with 16GB of RAM and Android 16. The benchmark scores themselves look fairly average, but that’s not unusual for early tests on a camera-focused device.

Vivo hasn’t confirmed an exact launch date. However, a well-known Weibo tipster, Bald Panda, claims the X300 Ultra could arrive in China before the end of March 2026. Some speculation points to March 30 as a possible launch day.

Samsung Galaxy S26 Series Breaks Pre-Order Records as Ultra Model Dominates Demand

11 March 2026 at 18:43

Highlights:

  • US pre-orders for the Galaxy S26 series are nearly 25% higher than the Galaxy S25 series.
  • The Galaxy S26 Ultra accounts for about 80% of total US pre-orders.
  • The series recorded 1.35 million pre-orders in South Korea, a new Galaxy S record.

Samsung announced on March 10, 2026, that its Galaxy S26 series has started strongly in the United States, with pre-orders showing solid growth compared with the previous generation.

According to the company, Galaxy S26 series pre-orders in the US are nearly 25% higher than those of the Galaxy S25 lineup. The figures include orders placed through Samsung.com, major US carriers, and national retailers.

The data also shows that buyers are strongly favoring the Galaxy S26 Ultra, which represents around 80% of total pre-orders in the US. This suggests the top-end model is driving much of the early demand for the lineup.

Carrier channels recorded particularly strong momentum. Pre-orders through major US carriers increased by more than 70% compared with the Galaxy S25 generation, indicating strong interest through operator sales channels.

Retail performance also improved significantly. At major retailers such as Best Buy, Galaxy S26 pre-orders were more than double those of the Galaxy S25 series.

In South Korea, the Galaxy S26 series reached 1.35 million pre-orders, setting a new record for the Galaxy S series. For comparison, the Galaxy S25 lineup reached 1.3 million pre-orders in 11 days, while the Galaxy S26 series surpassed that figure in just 7 days.

In Samsung’s domestic market as well, the Galaxy S26 Ultra leads demand, accounting for around 70% of total pre-orders.

Vivo X300s teased with largest battery in X series, larger VC, improved bypass charging, and more

11 March 2026 at 18:35

Vivo has started teasing details about its upcoming vivo X300s, and battery life seems to be one of the main highlights this time. According to product manager Han Boxiao, the phone will feature a 7100mAh battery, the largest ever used in the company’s X-series lineup.

The battery is part of what Vivo calls its Blue Ocean Battery system. It uses Vivo’s fourth-generation silicon anode technology. The result is a noticeable increase in battery capacity, considering last year’s Vivo X200s packed a 6200mAh battery.

Cooling is another area where the company claims improvements. The X300s includes a larger vapor chamber cooling system, referred to as the Ice Pulse Fluid VC. Paired with a chip upgrade, it should help the phone maintain a higher stable performance during heavier workloads.

A few smaller upgrades have also been mentioned. The device will include an updated ultrasonic fingerprint sensor, which Vivo says is about 15% faster and can unlock the phone even with slightly wet fingers. The phone will also support USB 3.2 Gen1, allowing data transfer speeds of up to 5Gbps.

The bypass charging system now powers the device during everyday tasks like video streaming and reading articles, instead of being limited to gaming.

Vivo is also introducing new power-management solutions. One of them, called MicroPower Genie 2.0, is designed to restore apps or tasks if the phone suddenly shuts down due to low battery. That could be useful for things like unfinished photo edits or games.

On the hardware side, the X300s is expected to feature a 6.78-inch flat display with 1.5K resolution and a 144Hz refresh rate. Camera hardware appears fairly ambitious as well, with reports pointing to a 200MP main camera, alongside 50MP ultra-wide and 50MP periscope sensors. A 50MP front camera is also expected.

Other features include 90W fast charging, stereo speakers, an X-axis vibration motor, and IP68/IP69 water and dust resistance.

Vivo hasn’t announced an exact launch date yet, but the X300s is expected to debut in China soon, likely alongside other models in the X300 lineup. If the teasers are accurate, the device could stand out mainly for its unusually large battery in a flagship-level phone.
