Samsung may upgrade its stock Camera app with pro features
Samsung‘s One UI 8.5 is currently in the beta phase, and the stable update is expected to be released with the Galaxy S26 series next year. A new discovery in One UI 8.5 suggests that Samsung is starting to combine features from its Expert RAW app into the stock camera for better photography.
According to the latest information via @Wvisioncreation, Samsung has added a manual white balance option to the stock camera app in One UI 8.5. Earlier, this feature was only available in Pro Mode and the Expert RAW app. White balance helps control how warm or cool a photo looks, especially under different lighting conditions.
The white balance control looks and feels similar to the one in Expert RAW, rather than the traditional Pro Mode version. This suggests Samsung may be using Expert RAW’s image processing system in the background.

If this change is fully applied, it could improve photos for most users. Expert RAW is better at handling lighting and showing more natural colors. Bringing some of this technology to the stock camera means users could get better photos without changing any settings.
Expert RAW is Samsung’s advanced camera app made for people who like to manually control their photos. It offers tools such as detailed color control and special photo processing. But these tools are a little bit confusing for everyday users, which is why Samsung kept Expert RAW separate from the main camera app.
Bringing some Expert RAW’s advanced features to a stock camera is quite interesting. While Samsung hasn’t officially confirmed anything yet, this move hints at a smarter camera with One UI 8.5. Stay tuned for more information.
