Red Magic Cooler 8 Pro

Red Magic has announced the launch of the Red Magic Cooler 8 Pro, which will go on sale at 7:00 PM on March 9. The cooler is priced at 269 yuan (approximately $39) and is now available for pre-orders across all platforms. This device serves as the successor to the Magnetic Cooler 6 Pro, which debuted last year.

Red Magic Cooler 8 Pro

According to images on the pre-order page, the Red Magic Cooler 8 Pro offers 36W of cooling power, capable of reducing temperatures by up to 80°C under specific test conditions. It features an advanced thermoelectric cooling module, designed to actively dissipate heat and stabilize device performance during heavy usage, such as gaming or multitasking.

Under controlled conditions, the cooler can achieve a minimum temperature of -25°C, making it an excellent choice for maintaining full-frame-rate performance during demanding mobile gaming sessions. Despite its powerful cooling, the Cooler 8 Pro operates at a minimal noise level of 36dB.

Internal tests reveal impressive results: the cooler reduced the surface temperature of a constant 10W heat source from 95°C to 15°C in just 20 minutes.

Red Magic Cooler 8 Pro

The Cooler 8 Pro has been demonstrated on an iPhone in promotional images, confirming its MagSafe compatibility. It is expected to work with a wide range of devices, including the latest Pixel phones, Xiaomi models, and other smartphones with protective cases.

Oppo Find N6 factory tour reveals how a near-invisible crease was achieved

27 February 2026 at 00:02

Oppo is taking an unusually open approach ahead of the Oppo Find N6 launch. With the device expected to debut on March 17, the company recently invited a member of the media into its production facilities to showcase the engineering work behind what it claims is a significantly reduced display crease.

The foldable crease has long been one of the category’s most persistent compromises. Oppo says it has spent the past three years refining its hinge and display assembly process, developing multiple prototypes along the way. According to the company, the latest iteration is built with alignment tolerances as tight as 0.03mm. It’s a level of precision intended to reduce visible indentation from the start and slow down long-term wear.

Durability testing appears to be a major focus. Oppo demonstrated an automated folding rig designed to simulate extended use, pushing devices through up to 300,000 fold-and-unfold cycles. During the media visit, the reporter was shown a unit that had already passed roughly 170,000 cycles. Even at that stage, the crease repirtedly remained minimal. Independent testing will ultimately determine how that translates to everyday use, but the company is clearly confident in its results.

The Find N6 has also reportedly passed TÜV Rheinland certification, with Oppo suggesting it achieved one of the flattest foldable displays evaluated so far. The inner display is expected to measure around 8.12 inches, paired with a 6.62-inch cover screen.

Leaked details suggest Oppo is aiming for a well-rounded flagship. The device is rumored to feature a Hasselblad-branded camera system built around a 200MP main sensor. It’s also expected to run on Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 platform and pack a sizeable 6,000mAh battery with 80W fast charging — notable figures for a slim book-style foldable.

By offering a behind-the-scenes look at production and stress testing, Oppo appears keen to differentiate the Find N6 in an increasingly competitive foldable market. Samsung, Honor, and other brands continue to refine hinge and display technology, and expectations are rising with each generation.

Xiaomi has started rolling out the HyperOS 3.0.15.0 update for its flagship Xiaomi 17 Ultra. This 9.4GB update brings various system optimizations, camera upgrades, and security enhancements. The Leica Edition of the device includes an exclusive feature, which we will discuss at the end.

Xiaomi 17 Ultra Starry Green

What’s new in this update?

The update improves the camera experience on the Xiaomi 17 Ultra. Xiaomi has added a new front-and-rear dual-view mode, which allows users to record video simultaneously using both cameras. The 200MP mode now includes a standard watermark option.

Xiaomi has optimized Dolby Vision recording, boosting brightness and dynamic range for improved video quality. The update also refines motion photo functionality by enabling it by default during video recording, with the option to switch to static photos in the camera settings.

Xiaomi has made improvements to the system as well. The update enhances the auto-brightness feature in night scenes, creating a better viewing experience in low-light environments. Huawei Mate 80 Pro launches with 3000 nits display and 50MP variable aperture camera

26 February 2026 at 20:27
Huawei-Mate-80-Pro-Design

Huawei is hosting a major global launch event today, where the company has already unveiled the Watch GT Runner 2. But it’s the flagship Mate 80 Pro that is the big story today. It’s the first time since the Mate 50 Pro in 2022 that Huawei introduced its Mate smartphone in the international market.

However, Huawei is releasing only the Pro version of its latest Mate lineup globally. The standard Huawei Mate 80, Huawei Mate 80 Pro Max, and Huawei Mate 80 RS Ultimate remain exclusive to China.

Huawei Mate 80 Pro Specifications

In any case, it shares most of its specifications with the Chinese counterpart. The device measures 161.85mm in height, 76mm in width, and 7.95mm in thickness, and weighs around 219 grams.

The phone features a 6.75-inch LTPO OLED display with a resolution of 2832 × 1280 pixels and a pixel density of 460ppi. It supports a 1–120Hz adaptive refresh rate and 1440Hz high-frequency PWM dimming. Huawei is also promising up to 1.07 billion colors and 3000 nits of brightness.

One key difference between regions is software. The global Mate 80 Pro runs EMUI 15.0, while the Chinese version ships with HarmonyOS 6.0. It comes in a single 16GB RAM and 512GB storage configuration. There’s no microSD card slot, so what you buy is what you keep.

The Mate 80 Pro includes a 50-megapixel main camera that supports variable aperture ranging from f/1.4 to f/4.0 and optical image stabilization. It’s joined by a 40-megapixel ultra-wide camera and a 48-megapixel macro telephoto camera with 4x optical zoom and up to 100x digital zoom.

On the front, there’s a 13-megapixel wide-angle selfie camera with autofocus. Both front and rear cameras support 4K video recording.

Huawei Mate 80 Pro Launch Specs Price

The phone packs a 5,750mAh battery (rated capacity 5,620mAh) and supports 100W wired and 80W wireless charging.

The Mate 80 Pro also carries IP68 and IP69 ratings for dust and water resistance, including protection against high-pressure water jets and submersion up to six meters for 30 minutes under specific conditions.

Connectivity includes Wi-Fi 7 support, Bluetooth 6.0, USB-C with USB 3.1 Gen 1 speeds, NFC, and a wide range of global positioning systems, including GPS dual-band and NavIC. The phone is available in both single and dual SIM models, depending on the region.

Huawei hasn’t revealed the pricing details yet, but the Mate 80 Pro will be available for purchase in Black, Green, and Gold starting today.

Nothing Headphone (a) launching March 5 as budget over-ear option

26 February 2026 at 20:24

Nothing is preparing to expand its audio lineup again, this time with a more affordable pair of over-ear headphones. The upcoming Nothing Headphone (a) is set to debut on March 5, 2026, during the company’s “Built Different” event.

The event will also introduce the Nothing Phone (4a) and Nothing Phone (4a) Pro, suggesting Nothing is continuing its push to build a broader, connected ecosystem rather than focusing on standalone devices.

The Headphone (a) appears to be a more accessible alternative to the original Nothing Headphone (1), which launched at €299. This new model is expected to come in at €159 in Europe and £149 in the UK, roughly half the price of the flagship version.

To reach that price point, Nothing is reportedly opting for a plastic construction instead of more premium materials. That doesn’t necessarily mean it will feel cheap, but it does signal a clear shift toward the mid-range segment.

In terms of design, the company isn’t toning things down. The Headphone (a) is expected to arrive in pink, white, black, and yellow — in line with Nothing’s bold, playful aesthetic. The semi-transparent styling that defines the brand is also likely to remain intact.

On the technical side, leaks point to a custom 40mm dynamic driver, Bluetooth 5.3 support, and dual-device pairing. Battery life could reach up to 35 hours with active noise cancellation enabled, which is competitive at this price. There’s some speculation that the ANC system may be less advanced than the one found in the Headphone (1), possibly as part of the cost-saving strategy.

If that trade-off holds true, the Headphone (a) may appeal most to users who want solid sound quality and long battery life without paying for top-tier noise isolation.

Nothing has been steadily growing its portfolio, and launching a more affordable over-ear option alongside mid-range smartphones reinforces that strategy. We’ll get full confirmation of specs, pricing, and availability on March 5. For now, the Headphone (a) looks like Nothing’s attempt to hit a sweet spot — stylish, capable, and easier on the wallet.

Honor Magic V6 camera samples impress ahead of MWC debut

26 February 2026 at 19:42
Honor Magic V6

Honor is starting to lift the curtain on its next foldable, the Honor Magic V6, ahead of its global debut at MWC 2026. With just days to go before the March 1 launch in Barcelona, the company has shared early camera samples and revealed a new color option, both clearly meant to build anticipation.

Honor Magic V6
Honor Magic V6

On Weibo, Honor’s imaging team posted a set of sample photos taken with the upcoming Magic V6. The company continues to lean on its AiMAGE branding, first introduced at MWC last year, which blends on-device AI processing with cloud-assisted enhancements. According to Honor, this setup improves clarity, zoom performance, and overall scene optimization.

The shared images highlight strong detail retention and balanced color reproduction, at least in the curated examples shown. Telephoto shots appear sharp, and low-light scenes seem well controlled. Of course, these are official samples, so real-world performance will need independent verification. Still, the message is clear: Honor wants the Magic V6 to compete not just with other foldables, but with top-tier slab flagships on camera quality.

Alongside the imaging teasers, Honor also unveiled a new “Red Rabbit” color variant. The finish features what the company describes as eco-friendly velvet leather with a nano-coating for durability. Visually, it’s a deep red tone accented with gold detailing around the circular camera module.

Under the hood, the Magic V6 is confirmed to run on Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5, bringing expected gains in performance and power efficiency.

With competition intensifying among foldable makers, incremental upgrades may no longer be enough. Honor seems intent on pushing both design and camera performance to stand out.

We’ll get the complete picture at MWC. For now, the Magic V6 looks like a foldable that’s aiming high, both in hardware and presentation.

Huawei Watch GT Runner 2 launches with titanium build, up to 14 days of battery life

26 February 2026 at 19:33
Huawei-Watch-GT-Runner-2-Launch-Specs-Price

At the launch event today, Huawei officially released the Huawei Watch GT Runner 2. As the name implies, it’s a running-focused smartwatch with precision tracking, structured marathon training, and a lighter overall design.

At the center of the pitch is what Huawei calls an industry-leading 3D floating antenna system. The company says this setup improves positioning accuracy by 20 percent compared to previous models, even in dense urban areas, near tall buildings, or inside tunnels.

The watch supports dual-band GPS (L1 + L5) and works with multiple satellite systems, including GLONASS, BeiDou, Galileo, QZSS, and NavIC.

Huawei Watch GT Runner 2 Design and Display

The design has also been reworked with runners in mind. The watch case, bezel, crown, and buttons are made from titanium alloy, and the body measures 43.5mm by 43.5mm with a thickness of 10.7mm.

At around 34.5 grams (without the strap), it’s notably light for a watch in this category. Huawei pairs it with a new AirDry woven strap that uses a hollowed design for improved breathability. The company claims it boosts airflow by 25 percent compared to earlier straps. There’s also a fluoroelastomer strap included for workouts where sweat and water are more of a concern.

The display is a 1.32-inch AMOLED panel with a 466 x 466 resolution and a peak brightness of up to 3000 nits. The glass on top is second-generation Kunlun Glass, which checks out durability.

The Runner 2 is all about running!

But the bigger story here is software. The wearable comes with a DSM-Firmenich Running Team co-developed Intelligent Marathon Mode, which offers structured race preparation.

Runners can access major marathon events or create custom ones, generate tailored training plans, and track advanced metrics like lactate threshold, running power, training intensity, and a Running Ability Index. The watch can also predict finishing times based on historical data and training trends.

During races, the watch can display real-time pace charts, estimated finish times, and your gap against a target time. There’s also a digital pacer and fueling reminders designed to keep energy levels steady during long efforts. Post-run, the Huawei Health app breaks down performance data and provides form insights and recovery guidance.

Beyond running, the watch supports over 100 sports modes, including trail running, swimming, cycling, golf (with access to over 17,000 courses in select markets), and freediving up to 40 meters. Samsung Galaxy S26 vs S26+ vs S26 Ultra: Specs, Key Differences & Upgrades

26 February 2026 at 18:47
Galaxy S26 series

When three phones share the same flagship DNA, the real question isn’t which one is better; it’s what actually changes as you move up the lineup. The Samsung Galaxy S26, S26+, and S26 Ultra look similar at first glance, but the upgrades are carefully layered to match different types of users. From display sharpness and battery growth to camera flexibility and productivity features, each step adds a specific kind of value. This comparison breaks down how those upgrades differ, what they mean in real-world use, and which model makes the most sense depending on how a phone is actually used day to day.

Design and Display

Build and Feel

The Galaxy S26 series follows a clear upgrade ladder rather than three completely different designs. The S26 acts as the baseline flagship with premium glass and Armor Aluminum 2, focusing on comfort and everyday practicality. Moving to the S26+, the main change is scale; it feels more immersive without dramatically changing the design philosophy. The S26 Ultra introduces the biggest functional upgrade: Gorilla Armor 2 with anti-reflective coating and built-in stylus support. This shift makes the Ultra less about style and more about productivity and precision input. The upgrade path here is practical, compact usability on S26, a larger media-focused experience on S26+, and professional utility on Ultra.

Display Quality

All three use Dynamic LTPO AMOLED 2X panels with 120Hz refresh rates and high peak brightness, so smoothness and color quality stay consistent. The main upgrade difference is resolution and usability. The S26 sticks with FHD+ for efficiency, while the S26+ and Ultra move to QHD+ for sharper text and better large-screen clarity. The Ultra adds anti-reflective treatment, which noticeably improves outdoor visibility and long viewing sessions.

Verdict

Design upgrades mainly scale from comfort to immersion to productivity, while display upgrades focus on sharper visuals and improved real-world readability as you move up.

Specifications Including Battery

Performance

Performance differences are subtle because all models use flagship-level chipsets and the same software support window. The S26 and S26+ share identical performance configurations depending on region, meaning real-world speed is nearly the same between them. The Ultra’s upgrade lies less in raw speed and more in sustained performance and higher memory options, which benefit heavy multitasking, long gaming sessions, and advanced editing workloads. The progression is about workload capacity rather than basic performance gains.

Battery and Charging

Battery upgrades follow a clear usage-based ladder. The S26’s smaller battery targets normal daily use with moderate charging speeds. The S26+ adds capacity and faster wired charging, which better supports heavier media consumption and longer screen time. The Ultra improves further with the fastest wired and wireless charging, reducing downtime for power users. These upgrades mainly affect convenience rather than fundamental endurance differences.

Verdict

Performance upgrades emphasize consistency across the lineup, while battery improvements primarily support heavier usage patterns and faster top-up convenience.

Camera

Main and Secondary Lenses

The biggest upgrade differences in the series appear in the camera system. The S26 and S26+ share identical hardware, meaning the move from base to Plus does not change photographic capability. Both focus on reliable flagship photography with 3x zoom and strong video features. The S26 Ultra introduces meaningful hardware upgrades: a 200MP main sensor, dual telephoto setup including a 5x periscope, and a higher-resolution ultrawide. These changes expand shooting flexibility rather than just improving quality, enabling better long-distance zoom, higher-detail crops, and more creative framing options. The upgrade here is clearly aimed at users who push mobile photography further.

Selfie Camera

All three use the same 12MP dual-pixel autofocus selfie camera, so selfie quality and video performance remain consistent across the lineup. This keeps the front-camera experience equal regardless of model choice.

Verdict

Camera upgrades are concentrated entirely on the Ultra, while S26 and S26+ maintain the same reliable flagship camera experience.

Pricing

The pricing structure reflects how upgrades are distributed. The Galaxy S26 starts at about $900 / ₹88,000, establishing the core flagship experience. The S26+ moves to roughly $1100 / ₹1,20,000, where the extra cost mainly pays for a larger, sharper display and bigger battery rather than performance or camera improvements. The S26 Ultra reaches around $1300 / ₹1,40,000, with pricing tied to significant camera upgrades, stylus integration, premium display treatment, and higher memory options.

Is the Price Justified?

The S26+ feels like an upgrade for comfort and endurance rather than capability. The Ultra’s price increase is easier to justify for users who will actively use Zoom flexibility, stylus features, or heavy multitasking. The value depends less on raw specs and more on whether those functional upgrades match daily usage.

Verdict

Pricing directly mirrors upgrade intent: screen and battery improvements in the middle tier, and feature-driven professional upgrades at the top.

Disclaimer:
Prices are approximate and may vary based on country, region, and applicable taxes.

Conclusion

The S26 lineup is structured around progressive upgrades rather than drastic differences. The S26 provides the full flagship foundation. The S26+ upgrades the viewing and battery experience without changing core performance or cameras, making it a lifestyle upgrade for media-heavy users. The S26 Ultra introduces the most functional upgrades,  advanced cameras, an anti-reflective display, stylus integration, and higher-end hardware options, targeting users who treat their phone as a productivity or creative tool. The lineup feels intentionally tiered so buyers can choose upgrades based on usage rather than marketing labels.

Verdict

The differences between S26, S26+, and S26 Ultra are less about which is “best” and more about how upgrades align with usage: Galaxy S26 is best suited for users who want a clean flagship experience without extra complexity,  ideal for everyday performance, compact handling, and long-term reliability.

The S26+ fits users who consume more content, game longer, or simply prefer a bigger and sharper screen with stronger battery comfort, making it the most balanced upgrade for mainstream buyers.

The S26 Ultra is clearly built for power users, creators, and multitaskers who will actually use advanced zoom cameras, stylus features, and top-tier hardware.

S26 for simplicity, S26+ for balance, Ultra for maximum capability.

Oppo Find N6 real-world image showcases near-invisible display crease

26 February 2026 at 17:23

The foldable phone market has been chasing the same goal for years: reduce the crease enough that you barely notice it. Now, if recent leaks are anything to go by, Oppo may be getting closer than most.

A real-life photo of the upcoming Oppo Find N6 have surfaced online, showing a noticeably flatter inner display. The crease is almost invisible when looking straight on.

Oppo hasn’t shared full technical details yet, but teasers point to a redesigned hinge system, reportedly built with a titanium alloy structure. The company is also said to be using a new ultra-thin glass designed to better resist long-term deformation. Whether that involves new materials or refinements to lamination isn’t clear, but the goal is obvious: make the display look and feel as close to a traditional slab phone as possible when opened.

Oppo is reportedly planning a March 17 launch in China, potentially beating several key competitors to market. Samsung’s next book-style foldable, expected to follow the current Samsung Galaxy Z Fold7, likely won’t arrive until mid-year. Google’s next Pixel foldable is also expected later in the summer. Meanwhile, Honor’s Honor Magic V6 is rumored for a similar March window, setting up direct competition.

If the Find N6 delivers on what these early glimpses suggest, it could raise the bar for crease reduction in book-style foldables. That would be particularly significant as Apple is widely rumored to be preparing its own foldable iPhone in the coming years, with heavy focus reportedly placed on minimizing the fold line.

Of course, real-world impressions will matter more than carefully framed demo shots. Lighting, display angle, and even screen content can influence how visible a crease appears. Still, the early signs suggest Oppo is pushing hard on hinge and display engineering.

More details are expected soon. For now, the Find N6 looks poised to deliver one of the flattest foldable displays we’ve seen so far.

Samsung Galaxy A56 5G, A36 5G, F17 5G Price Increase: Samsung Hikes Rates by Up to ₹1,500

26 February 2026 at 16:50

Samsung has increased prices for several Galaxy A and F series smartphones in India. A leaked internal pricing document from tipster AN Leaks shows the new rates, though Samsung hasn’t made any official announcement. The changes appear to be live in some stores, but online platforms haven’t fully updated their listings yet.

Galaxy A56 5G and A36 5G Get Price Bumps

The Galaxy A56 5G now costs more for its higher storage options. The 8GB + 256GB version is priced at ₹44,999, and the 12GB + 256GB model costs ₹48,999. Both variants are about ₹1,000 more expensive than before.

The Galaxy A36 5G also saw similar increases. The 8GB + 256GB variant jumped from ₹35,499 to ₹36,999. The 12GB + 256GB option now costs ₹40,499. Again, this is roughly ₹1,000 more per variant.

Galaxy F17 5G Prices Go Up Too

Samsung Galaxy F17 5G

The Galaxy F17 5G also got pricier. The 4GB + 128GB variant now costs ₹16,499, while the 6GB + 128GB version is ₹17,999. Both are about ₹1,000 higher. The 8GB + 128GB model is priced at ₹19,999, which is a bigger jump of ₹1,500 from its earlier price.

Online Stores Still Show Old Prices

Checking major online shopping sites shows that many devices still display the older prices. This means the price increase might be rolling out slowly or could be limited to physical retail stores right now.

Second Price Increase This Year

This isn’t the first time Samsung raised prices in 2026. Reports from January suggested the Galaxy A56, Galaxy A36, and Galaxy F17 5G already had price hikes. Other leaks mention possible increases for more Samsung phones later this year, but nothing is confirmed.

Samsung Galaxy S26 Ultra Upgrades & Features: What’s Actually New This Year?

By:Sean
26 February 2026 at 16:29
Galaxy-S26-Ultra

With the Galaxy S26 Ultra, Samsung isn’t just pushing spec upgrades; it’s trying to redefine what a flagship phone should proactively do for you. This year’s Ultra focuses heavily on smarter AI, better video capabilities, and meaningful hardware tweaks rather than just bumping numbers. While it might look iterative at first glance, some of these additions are genuinely interesting.

A Slimmer Ultra Than Ever

Galaxy-S26-Ultra
Samsung Galaxy S26 Ultra

At just 7.9mm thick, the Galaxy S26 Ultra is the slimmest Ultra model Samsung has released to date. That might not sound dramatic, but in the world of large, camera-heavy flagships, shaving off thickness without sacrificing battery or thermals is a big deal. Despite the slimmer profile, the phone still packs top-tier hardware and doesn’t downsize the battery.

Built-In Privacy Display

One of the most anticipated additions is the new Privacy Display. This is the first time Samsung has integrated built-in privacy screen functionality directly into a flagship phone. Using a combination of hardware filtering and software controls, the display restricts viewing angles so that on-screen content is much harder to see from the sides.

Galaxy S26 Ultra privacy feature
Galaxy S26 Ultra’s privacy display feature

If you often work in cafés, airports, or public transport, this could be a genuinely practical feature. Unlike clip-on privacy protectors, this one is native and toggleable. It’s subtle, but it signals Samsung thinking beyond just brightness and resolution.

Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 for Galaxy

Under the hood, the S26 Ultra runs on the custom Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 Mobile Platform for Galaxy. As the name suggests, this version is tuned specifically for Samsung’s flagship. Performance improvements focus on sustained workloads rather than just peak benchmarks. That matters for gaming, 4K and 8K video recording, and AI-driven processing tasks that run continuously in the background. Thermal management has also been improved, which pairs well with the phone’s thinner design.

Camera Upgrades: Low Light and Pro Video

Samsung is clearly doubling down on mobile videography this year. The S26 Ultra features wider apertures across parts of its camera system, improving low-light photography. Night shots are brighter and cleaner, but the bigger story might be “Nightography Video.” Samsung claims significantly improved clarity in dim environments, reducing noise and maintaining detail when recording at night. Video stabilization also gets an upgrade through improved Super Steady technology, helping smooth out handheld footage without over-cropping.

Galaxy-S26-Ultra

Perhaps most notably, the S26 Ultra is the first Galaxy smartphone to support the Advanced Professional Video (APV) standard. This allows for more efficient compression while maintaining high video quality, which could be a big deal for content creators who want pro-grade results without enormous file sizes. Even the front-facing camera benefits from AI ISP improvements, promising more natural skin tones and better detail retention in mixed lighting.

Agentic AI

Samsung is branding its next phase of intelligence as “Agentic AI.” The idea is simple: instead of waiting for you to trigger features, the phone anticipates and assists. “Now Nudge” delivers contextual suggestions at relevant moments, while “Now Brief” provides real-time summaries and updates throughout the day. Think less reactive notifications and more proactive guidance.

Galaxy-S26-Ultra

Bixby has also evolved into a more conversational device agent. You can adjust settings, navigate menus, and manage tasks using natural language without needing to memorize specific commands. The goal is frictionless interaction.

Samsung has also expanded “Circle to Search” and deepened integrations with AI platforms like Gemini and Perplexity. Native AI photo editing tools have been refined as well, making object removal, generative fill, and scene adjustments more seamless.

Super Fast Charging 3.0

Charging gets a meaningful bump with Super Fast Charging 3.0. Using Samsung’s new 60W charger, the S26 Ultra can reportedly reach 75% in 30 minutes. That’s not industry-leading on paper, but it strikes a balance between speed and battery longevity. In an era where 200W charging exists, Samsung appears to be prioritizing sustained battery health over headline-grabbing numbers.

Samsung is finally adopting silicon-carbon battery, joining rivals

26 February 2026 at 16:03

Samsung has never been the most aggressive player when it comes to battery innovation. While most of its rivals are chasing bigger numbers year after year, Samsung is definitely moving more cautiously. Now, though, a senior executive has confirmed that change is coming.

Speaking at a media roundtable ahead of Galaxy Unpacked 2026, Moon Sung-Hoon, Executive Vice President and Head of Samsung Electronics’ Smartphone R&D Team, said the company is actively preparing a smartphone that uses silicon-carbon anode battery technology. According to Moon, such a device will arrive “in due course,” suggesting the tech is progressing internally, even if it’s not ready for prime time just yet.

Silicon-carbon batteries have become increasingly common among Chinese smartphone brands. By replacing traditional graphite anodes with silicon-carbon composites, these batteries can store more lithium ions in the same physical space. The result? Much higher capacities without dramatically increasing thickness or weight.

Moon acknowledged that the company may appear slower than competitors in adopting newer battery chemistry, but emphasized that safety, durability, and long-term stability remain priorities. That caution is understandable given Samsung’s history, particularly the lessons learned from the Galaxy Note 7 incident years ago. New battery technologies must pass strict internal testing, especially in areas like swelling resistance, lifespan, and charge cycle reliability.

That conservative strategy is evident in the just-launched Galaxy S26 series. Only the base model received a modest battery bump, while the Galaxy S26 Ultra and its Plus sibling retained familiar capacity figures.

That said, Moon’s comments confirm that Samsung is not ignoring the shift toward silicon-carbon chemistry. It’s simply taking its time. With brands like Honor, Oppo, OnePlus, and Xiaomi pushing 7,000mAh-plus batteries and longer endurance, the pressure on Samsung is mounting.

For Galaxy fans who feel battery upgrades have been incremental in recent years, this could signal a more meaningful leap on the horizon. There’s no concrete launch timeline yet, but the direction is clear: Samsung is working on it.

26 February 2026 at 15:42
Xiaomi-Mijia-Water-Purifier-2-1200G-launch-specs-price

Xiaomi has introduced a new high-capacity water purifier in China. The Mijia Water Purifier 2 1200G comes with a long-life reverse osmosis system and what it describes as baby-grade healthy water.

At the core of the device is a 7-year long-lasting RO system. The purifier uses a 12-page high-precision RO membrane paired with a PPC filter cartridge. It also introduces what the company calls “Zero Stagnant Water 3.0” technology, which is designed to reduce leftover water sitting inside the system between uses.

Xiaomi claims the purifier has received professional maternal and infant certification, and that the filtered water does not contain scale inhibitors. The rated total purification capacity is 6,500 liters.

A 7-year RO system with app control

The Mijia Water Purifier 2 1200G (model MR1282-A) supports a clean water flow rate of 3.2 liters per minute and operates at 180W. It works with inlet water pressure between 0.1 and 0.4 MPa and has a working pressure range of 0.4 to 0.9 MPa. The unit weighs 11.9kg and measures 163 × 445 × 379 mm.

On the smart side, the purifier includes an IPX7-rated waterproof faucet with touch controls for dispensing water. It can display real-time TDS (total dissolved solids) values and connects over 2.4GHz Wi-Fi (IEEE 802.11b/g/n). Through the Mijia app, users can remotely check water quality data and other system information.

The purifier is designed for use with municipal tap water that meets China’s GB 5749 standard. Xiaomi says the output water meets the requirements of the country’s hygiene and safety standards for reverse osmosis drinking water treatment devices.

New Samsung Magnetic Power Bank Drops for Galaxy S26 Series Packs 5000mAh & Built-in Kickstand

By:Sean
26 February 2026 at 15:39
Samsung Qi2 Magnetic Power Bank

Samsung has just expanded its accessory ecosystem for the Galaxy S26 series with a clever new companion. The Galaxy S26 Ultra and its siblings just got a new 25W Magnetic Charger, and now, the brand has also released a new power bank with built-in magnets and a kickstand.

Magnetic Snap-On Power for the Samsung Galaxy S26 Series

This official Samsung magnetic power bank is specially engineered for the Galaxy S26 series and other Qi2-compatible phones. It uses magnetic alignment to attach securely to the smartphone’s back, ensuring proper positioning for efficient power transfer without reels of cable or fidgeting to find the right spot. Built into the back of the power bank is a fold-out kickstand, letting you prop your phone up at a comfortable angle, which makes it handy for video calls, streaming, gaming, or more.

Samsung Qi2 Magnetic Power Bank
Samsung Qi2 Magnet Power Bank

Samsung’s Qi2 Magnet Wireless Battery Pack houses a sizeable 5,000mAh battery pack. It supports wireless output up to 15W when magnetically connected to compatible devices like the Galaxy S26 Ultra, Galaxy S26+, and Galaxy S26. Keep in mind that these models don’t have built-in magnets like the Google Pixel 10 lineup or iPhones. So you will need a dedicated case with magnets.

For example, popular case brand Spigen have already released several magnetic cases and accessories. If you need a faster charging option, the power bank also offers 25W wired fast charging with its USB Type-C port. In other words, users can charge two devices at the same time. Samsung has released this Qi2 Magnet Wireless Power Bank in a single gray color option. As of right now, the pricing and launch details for this power bank are still at large.

Vivo X300 Ultra to debut in March with world-first Sony 200MP camera, Oppo Find X9 Ultra to follow in April

26 February 2026 at 14:17
Vivo X200 Ultra

For the past few years, Vivo has launched its Ultra-branded flagship around a month after Oppo’s Ultra offering in China. However, this year may be different, as reliable tipster Digital Chat Station claims that the Vivo X300 Ultra will debut before the Oppo Find X9 Ultra. Here’s a look at when these devices are expected to hit the Chinese market.

Vivo X300 Ultra, Find X9 Ultra launch time frame (rumored)

DCS revealed that the Vivo X300 Ultra will be announced in March, which could be in the second half of the month. He claims that this Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5-powered phone will feature the world’s first 200-megapixel Sony LYT-901 primary camera. It is also said to include a 3.5x periscope telephoto lens using a 200-megapixel Samsung HPB sensor, along with what is described as the strongest ultra-wide camera in the smartphone industry.

According to previous reports, this ultra-wide camera will be powered by the 50-megapixel Sony LYT-828 sensor. The setup is also expected to feature a 5-megapixel multispectral lens. The X300 Ultra is also expected to debut as the world’s first flagship phone equipped with dual 200-megapixel cameras.

Oppo Find N6 and Find X9 Ultra launch timeframe (rumored)

DCS claims that March will also see the arrival of the Oppo Find N6 foldable phone. A recent report revealed that it is slated to debut on March 17. He also mentioned that the Find X9 Ultra will be announced in April.

While it is not mentioned in the leak, there is a possibility that the X300 Ultra could be accompanied by the Vivo X300 Max, and the Find X9 Ultra and Find X9s Pro may debut together in April.

Interestingly, both Ultra editions are also said to be heading to the global market in the coming months. While the X9 Ultra has not yet appeared on any global certification platform, the X300 Ultra has already been approved in Indonesia and Europe, possibly hinting at a global launch in the second quarter of this year.

G-Shock Buying Guide 2026: How to Choose the Best G-Shock Watch

26 February 2026 at 13:38
casio g shock

G-Shock watches remain one of the safest watch purchases in 2026 thanks to their legendary durability, long battery life, and wide range of styles. But with dozens of models available, from classic digital squares to premium metal designs and outdoor-focused beasts, choosing the right one can feel confusing.

This complete buying guide simplifies everything by helping you understand which G-Shock fits your lifestyle, budget, and daily usage.  Each watch was selected to represent a specific use-case category (everyday wear, style, outdoor, fitness, or premium) rather than just launch date or price. Whether you’re a first-time buyer or upgrading to a better model, this guide covers quick picks, key buying tips, and an easy comparison table to help you decide faster.

How to Choose the Right G-Shock

Purpose & Lifestyle

The first step is understanding how you will actually use the watch. If you want a daily wear watch, lightweight and slim models are ideal. Outdoor users may need sensors and reinforced construction, while style-focused buyers might prefer metal designs. Avoid buying extreme models unless your lifestyle demands them.

Size and Comfort

One of the biggest mistakes buyers make is choosing oversized models just because they look tough. While large watches look impressive, slimmer options like square G-Shocks or the GA-B2100 are usually more comfortable for long-term wear. A watch that feels good daily will always be a better investment.

Power System (Solar vs Battery)

Many premium G-Shocks use Tough Solar technology, which reduces maintenance and extends long-term reliability. Battery-powered models are still good, but solar versions are generally preferred by experienced users because they require less attention.

Features vs Real Usage

Advanced features like compass, altimeter, or barometer sound impressive but are often unnecessary for regular users. Buy based on your real needs, not just feature lists.

Everyday Reliability — GW-M5610U

If you want the safest, no-nonsense G-Shock, the GW-M5610U is often the first recommendation, and for good reason. It’s compact, lightweight, and easy to wear every day without feeling bulky. Features like Tough Solar charging and automatic time syncing mean you rarely need to think about maintenance. Compared to larger analog models, it feels simpler and more practical, which is exactly why long-time users love it. This is the kind of watch you buy once and keep for years, whether you’re traveling, commuting, or just wearing it daily.

Modern Style — GA-B2100 (Casioak)

The GA-B2100 is the watch people choose when they want a modern look without losing G-Shock toughness. The octagonal “Casioak” design feels slimmer and more stylish compared to traditional chunky G-Shocks, making it easier to pair with casual or even smart outfits. It also adds Bluetooth connectivity and solar charging, which gives it a more modern edge over older analog-digital models. If the GW-M5610U is about pure function, the GA-B2100 is about balancing style and practicality, ideal for buyers who want something trendy but still durable.

Premium Feel — GM-B2100 Full Metal

Think of the GM-B2100 as the grown-up version of the Casioak. It keeps the same modern shape but replaces the resin build with a full-metal body, instantly making it feel more premium on the wrist. Compared to standard G-Shocks, it looks more refined and works better with formal or office outfits. The trade-off is slightly more weight, but many buyers see that as part of the luxury feel. If you want a G-Shock that feels special rather than purely sporty, this is the upgrade worth considering.

Smart Casual — G-STEEL Series

The G-STEEL series sits nicely between sporty and professional. It mixes metal styling with the rugged DNA of G-Shock, so you get something that feels more polished without losing durability. Compared to full-metal models, G-STEEL watches are usually lighter and easier to wear daily, making them a strong choice for office environments or smart-casual dressing. If you want one watch that can go from work meetings to weekend outings, this category makes a lot of sense.

Please Note: When you buy something using the links in our articles, we may earn a small commission at no cost to you.

Fitness & Training — GBD-100

The GBD-100 is designed for active users who want fitness tracking without moving to a full smartwatch. It includes workout tools like step tracking, training data, and Bluetooth connectivity while still keeping the toughness G-Shock is known for. Compared to smartwatches, battery life is better, and durability is higher, but you won’t get advanced app ecosystems or touchscreens. That’s exactly the appeal; it focuses on core fitness features while staying simple, reliable, and sporty enough for daily training.

Galaxy S26 Ultra gets several magnetic cases and accessories thanks to Spigen

26 February 2026 at 13:28

Samsung’s new Galaxy S26 Ultra brings a few notable upgrades to the table, including Privacy Display, stronger AI features, and support for faster wireless charging. But there’s one detail that has left some users scratching their heads: no built-in magnets yet.

The latest models, just like the Galaxy S25 series, are still labeled “Qi2 Ready.” The phones do not include the magnetic alignment ring that enables snap-on accessories in the style of MagSafe. So while you can charge wirelessly faster, you can’t attach magnetic wallets, mounts, or chargers directly to the back of the device.

Built-in magnets can interfere with the S Pen and slightly raise manufacturing costs. That trade-off, though, opens the door for accessory makers.

Spigen has already stepped in with a full lineup designed specifically for the Galaxy S26 series. At the simplest level, there’s a standalone magnetic adapter, essentially a slim ring that adds magnet support to a standard case or even directly to the phone. It’s priced at $25 and offers a way to get Qi2-style magnetic functionality without buying a brand-new case.

Beyond that, Spigen has introduced several cases under its Mag Fit branding. These include transparent options that show off the phone’s design, versions with built-in kickstands, and others featuring hand straps for added grip. The magnetic ring is integrated into the case itself, allowing for proper alignment with chargers and compatible accessories while still maintaining drop protection.

Spigen is also expanding the ecosystem with magnetic add-ons. Card holders, mounts, and even selfie sticks are part of the lineup. The key here is compatibility: Mag Fit follows the same magnetic layout used by Apple’s MagSafe and the broader Qi2 ecosystem.

Pricing for the Mag Fit cases falls between $40 and $60 depending on the design, while add-on accessories range from $30 to $60. Everything is available through Spigen’s online store.

Realme Note 70T

Realme looks ready to expand its Note lineup once again. According to a new report, the company is set to announce the Realme Note 80 on March 5th.

The report doesn’t stop at the launch date, either. It also spills the full spec sheet ahead of the official reveal. Here’s what to expect.

Realme Note 80 Specifications

The Note 80 is built around a 6.74-inch HD+ LCD panel with a 90Hz refresh rate and peak brightness of 563 nits. The screen is protected by an “ArmorShell” protection, which can reportedly survive drops from heights up to 1.8 meters. The phone also carries an IP54 rating and even supports wet-hand touch input.

Under the hood, it runs on an octa-core processor with an AnTuTu score of over 390,000. Realme is also guarentting 48-month of fluency.

Moving on, the Note 80 packs a large 6,300mAh battery with support for 15W charging. Realme says the battery is designed to maintain its health for up to four years. The phone is also rated to function in temperatures ranging from -20°C to 50°C.

Its camera hardware is modest, though. It features an 8-megapixel rear sensor and a 5-megapixel front camera. While not high on megapixels, Realme is emphasizing n built-in software features like object removal, face enhancement, and background cutouts.

Design-wise, the Note 80 measures 7.94mm thick and weighs 197 grams, which keeps it relatively slim despite what’s inside. Realme plans to offer it in Glacier Blue and Storm Black options.

We are still not sure of the pricing details, and Realme hasn’t shared official availability information yet. But based on its specifications, the Realme Note 80 is an entry-level smartphone that delivers on the essentials.

Samsung Launches 25W Magnetic Charger for the New Galaxy S26 Series

By:Sean

Samsung S25 Magnetic Charger

Samsung has quietly expanded the accessory lineup alongside its Galaxy S26 Series announcement with the launch of a new 25W magnetic wireless charger. The accessory makes charging simpler and more stylish for Galaxy owners, especially those who want a sleek magnetic solution rather than a traditional charging pad.

What’s New: Qi2 Magnetic Charging at 25W

Unlike most generic wireless chargers, Samsung’s new Magnet Wireless Charger uses the Qi2 standard, which is the latest wireless charging protocol that supports magnetic alignment similar in concept to Apple’s MagSafe. This helps ensure better alignment between the phone and charger for more efficient power transfer. Despite this magnetic alignment, Samsung’s latest flagships do not have built-in magnets for Qi2 by default. Meaning, you still need a compatible magnetic case to properly secure the device to the charger for full power delivery.

Samsung S25 Magnetic Charger
Samsung S25 Magnetic Charger

The charger itself is super-thin (about 4.4mm) and includes a 1.5m USB-C cable with a fabric exterior for durability and daily flexibility. Samsung claims this magnetic charger can deliver up to 25W of wireless power, specifically supported on the Galaxy S26 Ultra. The Galaxy S26+ and Galaxy S26, on the other hand, are capped at about 20W and 15W, respectively.

Samsung claims that the new 25W magnetic charger can bring the Galaxy S26 Ultra to around 50% charge in just under an hour. This new charging accessory carries a minimalist and ultra thin design with a textured USB-C cable to resist fraying and tangling. The brand has already listed the Magnet Wireless Charger in some regions, including the US, where it is listed for 49.99 US Dollars. The global release in other regions, like India, is expected to kick off soon.

Launch date: March 2026

The Edge 70 Fusion is confirmed to launch in March, but the exact date is still under wraps. However, given the number of teasers Motorola has posted recently, we can expect the device to go official in the first half of the month.

Purported Redmi K90 Pro to feature Snapdragon 8 Elite chip, built-in fan, 8,000mAh battery

26 February 2026 at 13:17
Redmi K90 Pro Max

The Redmi K90 series currently includes the Redmi K90 and K90 Pro Max. In April, the company is expected to unveil the Dimensity 9500-powered Redmi K90 Ultra. A new leak from tipster Digital Chat Station indicates that another K90 series phone may also be in development. Although the official name of the device remains unknown, the leak highlights several key specifications of this upcoming model.

Redmi K90 Pro key details tipped

Redmi K90 series specs leak

According to the tipster, the new Redmi phone will be powered by the Snapdragon 8 Elite chip. The presence of this chipset suggests that the device could belong to the K90 lineup. The leak further mentions that the handset will feature a high refresh rate display, a large battery with around 8,000mAh capacity, and a built-in cooling fan aimed at enhancing sustained performance.

In addition, the device is said to include an ultrasonic in-screen fingerprint sensor, symmetrical dual speakers, and a fully water-resistant body, pointing toward a flagship-grade build and feature set.

Currently, the Redmi K90 and K90 Pro Max are powered by the Snapdragon 8 Elite and Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 chipsets, respectively. This positioning indicates that the newly tipped Snapdragon 8 Elite-powered model could sit between the K90 and K90 Pro Max in the lineup. As a result, it is speculated that the device may launch in China under the Redmi K90 Pro branding.

This is not the first time rumors have suggested the existence of the Redmi K90 Pro. Back in November 2025, tipster Smart Pikachu claimed that Redmi was working on two additional K90 series models, namely the Redmi K90 Pro and Redmi K90 Ultra. That leak suggested the K90 Pro would feature a 6.6-inch display, while the Ultra variant could come with a larger 6.8-inch screen. Both devices are expected to debut together in China.

Apple’s foldable iPhone reportedly achieves sub-0.15mm display crease

26 February 2026 at 12:01

Apple’s foldable iPhone has been “coming soon” for years, at least according to leaks. Now, a new round of details suggests the company may finally be closing in on one of the biggest challenges that’s kept it out of the foldable race: the display crease.

One of the main criticisms of current foldables, including devices like the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 7, is the crease. It’s not always a dealbreaker, but it’s noticeable. Reports over the years have suggested Apple wasn’t willing to enter the category until it could meaningfully reduce that crease.

A new leak from Chinese Weibo account Fixed Focus Digital claims that progress has been made. According to the post, Apple’s first foldable, widely referred to as the “iPhone Fold”, could feature an inner display with a crease depth of under 0.15 mm and a fold angle below 2.5 degrees.

Those numbers might not mean much at first glance, but they’re telling. A smaller crease depth means a shallower indentation along the fold, both visually and to the touch. For context, a human hair is roughly 0.05–0.1 mm thick, so anything under 0.15 mm would be relatively subtle. Current foldables often measure significantly deeper at the crease. If accurate, Apple’s implementation would be among the flattest we’ve seen so far: not invisible, but close.

The display itself is reportedly being supplied by Samsung Display, using newer materials and improved lamination techniques to better distribute stress along the hinge.

Beyond the screen, a few design details are also circulating. The rear camera module is said to resemble the minimalist layout of the iPhone Air, featuring two sensors: likely a main and an ultra-wide. Touch ID could return, embedded in the power button, replacing Face ID to save internal space and avoid additional cutouts on the inner display.

Production orders are reportedly in place, pointing to a potential September 2026 launch window, possibly alongside the iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max. If that timeline holds, Apple’s first foldable could finally become official next fall.

If the crease really is as shallow as claimed, it would explain why Apple has taken its time.

Vivo V70 Elite vs iQOO 15R: Which One Should You Buy?

26 February 2026 at 11:42
Vivo-V70-and-V70-Elite

The Vivo V70 Elite and iQOO 15R have entered the Indian market with flagship-level features and competitive pricing. Both devices cater to premium users, but each smartphone targets a different audience. Here’s a detailed comparison of the two devices based on design, display, performance, cameras, and pricing.

Vivo V70 Elite

Design and Build Quality

The Vivo V70 Elite focuses on elegance and comfort. It features a flat-edge design with an aerospace-grade metal frame and ultra-narrow bezels. The phone is designed to fit comfortably in one hand, thanks to its Golden Grip size. It comes in colors like Passion Red, Sand Beige, and Authentic Black, adding a premium look.

The iQOO 15R takes a performance-oriented approach to design. It uses Schott Shield glass for added durability and comes in two colors: Dark Knight with a matte black finish and Triumph Silver with a patterned back exclusive to India. The iQOO 15R is slightly thicker and heavier than the Vivo V70 Elite, but it maintains a modern and sturdy build.

Both devices have IP68 and IP69 ratings for dust and water resistance. The Vivo V70 Elite appeals to users who prefer a sophisticated design, while the iQOO 15R is better suited for gamers and those looking for a robust build.

Display

The Vivo V70 Elite and iQOO 15R feature 6.59-inch AMOLED displays with a resolution of 2750 x 1260 pixels. However, there are differences in refresh rates and display features.

The Vivo V70 Elite comes with a 120Hz flat AMOLED display that offers a peak brightness of 5000 nits. It supports 4320Hz PWM dimming, making it ideal for content consumption with vibrant colors and smooth animations.

The iQOO 15R also features a flat OLED panel, but with a higher 144Hz refresh rate and a 3200Hz touch sampling rate. It also supports 5000 nits peak brightness, DC-like dimming, and offers a faster touch response, making it better for gaming.

Performance and Software

The Vivo V70 Elite is powered by the Snapdragon 8s Gen 3 processor, paired with up to 16GB LPDDR5X RAM and UFS 4.1 storage. It includes a 4200mm² VC cooling system and supports features like 4D game vibration for enhanced gaming.

The iQOO 15R takes performance a step further with the Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 processor. It comes with the Q2 gaming chip and supports up to 144 FPS gaming and features advanced cooling systems, including a 6500mm² VC cooling panel and dual-layer graphite sheets. The iQOO 15R also includes a network enhancement chip for improved connectivity.

Both devices run Android 16 with OriginOS 6. iQOO 15R performs better for gamers and power users, while the Vivo V70 Elite handles multitasking and general use efficiently.

Cameras

The Vivo V70 Elite focuses heavily on photography. It uses Zeiss optics with a 50MP Zeiss night telephoto camera, a 50MP Zeiss OIS main camera, and an 8MP ultra-wide camera. The telephoto lens supports 3x optical zoom and up to 100X digital zoom. The phone includes AI-powered features like AI Holi Portrait, making it ideal for low-light and detailed photography.

The iQOO 15R has a 50MP Sony LYT-700V main sensor with OIS, an 8MP ultra-wide lens, and a 32MP front camera. While the iQOO 15R delivers good picture quality, it does not match the telephoto and low-light capabilities of the Vivo V70 Elite.

For photography enthusiasts, the Vivo V70 Elite is the better choice. The iQOO 15R offers decent cameras but prioritizes performance over photography.

Battery and Charging

The iQOO 15R includes a 7600mAh battery with 100W FlashCharge support. The phone can charge up to 50% in 33 minutes. It uses advanced silicon anode and semi-solid-state battery technology, which improves durability and performance.

The Vivo V70 Elite has a slightly smaller 6500mAh battery with 90W fast charging. While it offers good battery life, it does not charge as quickly as the iQOO 15R or provide the same level of durability.

The iQOO 15R is the better option for users who need long battery life and fast charging.

Pricing and Value

The Vivo V70 Elite starts at ₹51,999 for the 8GB + 256GB model. The 12GB + 256GB model costs ₹56,999, and the 12GB + 512GB model is priced at ₹61,999.

The iQOO 15R starts at ₹44,999 for the 8GB + 256GB model. The 12GB + 256GB model is priced at ₹47,999, and the 12GB + 512GB model costs ₹52,999.

The iQOO 15R offers better value for money, especially for gamers and performance enthusiasts. The Vivo V70 Elite justifies its price with premium design and superior cameras.

Verdict

The Vivo V70 Elite is the better choice for users who prioritize design, photography, and an immersive display. Its Zeiss optics and sleek build make it ideal for lifestyle users.

The iQOO 15R is the better option for gamers and power users. Its Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 processor, 144Hz display, and fast charging deliver excellent performance at a competitive price.

Both devices excel in their respective areas, but the iQOO 15R offers better overall value for most users.

Casio G-Shock GMW-B5000-1

Fresh details about the Casio G-Shock GM-H5600 have surfaced online. The Great G-Shock World blog reports that the upcoming model could arrive as early as March. Earlier certifications had already confirmed its existence, setting the stage for its anticipated debut. Here’s a look at what to expect from this Casio watch.

Casio G-Shock GM-H5600‘s leaked details, launch timeframe

Casio G-Shock GMW-B5000-1
Casio G-Shock GMW-B5000-1

The GM-H5600 is believed to build upon the design language of classic square G-Shock watches while introducing modern fitness tracking capabilities. Reports indicate that the device will feature an optical heart rate monitor along with motion sensors capable of tracking steps and workout activities.

The design is expected to draw inspiration from both the DW-H5600 fitness-focused series and the metal-cased GM-5600 lineup, blending durability with a more premium aesthetic suitable for everyday wear, including business environments.

One of the key highlights could be the inclusion of a memory-in-pixel LCD screen. This display technology is known for improved readability and higher contrast compared to traditional panels, which should enhance visibility in various lighting conditions. Whether the display will use a positive or negative colour scheme remains unclear at this stage.

Recent reports suggest that Casio may unveil the GM-H5600 in March 2026, earlier than some previous estimates that pointed towards a broader 2026 release window. The watch is expected to debut first in Japan before expanding to other markets over time. Rumours also indicate that two colour variants could be available at launch, including silver and gold finishes, reinforcing its premium positioning within the G-Shock lineup.

While detailed specifications and official pricing have yet to be confirmed, the device is widely expected to target users looking for a rugged digital watch with added health monitoring features. More concrete details are likely to emerge closer to the official announcement as Casio finalizes launch plans.

iPhone 17 Pro can reach 24x zoom with this new telephoto add-on

26 February 2026 at 07:51
SANDMARC-iPhone-17-Pro-24x-zoom-telephoto-lens

US accessory maker SANDMARC has officially introduced a new telephoto add-on built specifically for Apple’s latest iPhones. Called the Tetraprism 72mm lens, the accessory is designed to mount onto compatible iPhone models and extend their native zoom capabilities by an additional 3x.

The lens is fairly substantial in size. It weighs 180 grams, measures 70mm in height, and has a 40.5mm diameter. There’s also a 17mm threaded mount built into the design. The size is closer to a compact camera lens that happens to connect to your phone.

SANDMARC Tetraprism 72mm lens for iPhone 17 Pro and iPhone 16 Pro

According to SANDMARC, the lens is tuned specifically for the quad prism telephoto system expected on the iPhone 17 Pro series. When paired together, the company says the setup can reach up to 24x zoom through optical magnification.

The accessory also works with older models. On the iPhone 16 Pro series and the iPhone 15 Pro Max, SANDMARC claims users can achieve up to 15x hybrid zoom.

The main pitch here is image quality at distance. Instead of relying heavily on digital cropping, the Tetraprism 72mm lens uses multi-element, multi-layer coated glass to reduce glare and maintain color accuracy. The company also points to improved optical compression, which can help with subject separation and give photos more natural depth.

The design is modular. It attaches directly to a dedicated iPhone lens case and works with other SANDMARC filters and accessories. The company says the lens is good for wildlife photography, events, and landscape clicks.

Chinese smartphone makers, in particular, have started offering a teleconverter set for their Ultra phones on their own. The latest Xiaomi 17 Ultra, for instance, comes with a 4.3x teleconverter lens.

It’s unlikely that Apple will explore this route anytime soon. So our best bet is to rely on accessory brands like SANDMARC for it.

Transsion captures 48% as Africa smartphone market grows 13% in 2025

26 February 2026 at 01:25
TECNO POVA Curve 2

Africa’s smartphone market had a strong 2025, even as global growth remained uneven. New data from Omdia shows the continent shipped 84.4 million smartphones last year, up 13% year-over-year, the fastest pace of recovery since 2021.

TECNO POVA Curve 2

Growth accelerated toward the end of the year. Q4 shipments rose 14% to 23.1 million units, helped by expanded financing programs, improved currency stability in key markets, wider 4G rollout, and early 5G adoption in countries like South Africa and Egypt. Holiday promotions and aggressive pricing also played a role.

Smartphones now make up roughly 55% of total mobile phone shipments in Africa, highlighting the steady shift away from feature phones. Sub-Saharan Africa continued to outpace North Africa, acting as the main growth engine.

At the country level, South Africa led with 38% growth, driven largely by prepaid demand and strong uptake of sub-$100 devices. Nigeria followed with 25% growth, fueled by affordable 4G smartphones dominating the sub-$200 segment. Egypt grew 22%, supported by local manufacturing and value-focused portfolios. Kenya saw modest 3% growth amid cost pressures, while Morocco dipped 3% due to higher import tariffs.

Transsion — through TECNO, Infinix, and itel — maintained a commanding 48% market share for the year, shipping over 40.5 million units. However, its Q4 share slipped slightly as competition intensified in the entry-level tier. Samsung held second place, posting 27% Q4 growth thanks to the Galaxy A series and a broader mid-range portfolio. Xiaomi, Honor, and Oppo also recorded solid gains, particularly in expanding 4G and mid-range segments.

Still, challenges loom. Entry-level devices below $200 accounted for 81% of shipments in 2025, leaving vendors exposed to rising component costs. Average selling prices rose 11% in Q4 as consumers gradually shifted toward better-specced models.

Looking ahead, Omdia expects shipments to decline 23% in 2026 due to inflation and tighter channel inventory management. For now, though, 2025 stands out as a year of resilience and strong momentum for Africa’s smartphone market.

Samsung launches Bespoke AI Ice Purifier: makes up to 1,000 ice per day

26 February 2026 at 00:47

Samsung is expanding its Bespoke lineup again. The company has introduced the Bespoke AI Ice Purifier, a countertop appliance that combines water purification and high-capacity ice production in a single unit.

The concept is straightforward: instead of having a separate water purifier and ice maker, Samsung is merging the two into one device. For households that regularly consume filtered water and use a lot of ice, that consolidation could be appealing.

The purification system uses a four-stage NSF-certified filter. Samsung says it’s designed to remove bacteria, microplastics, heavy metals such as lead and mercury, and dozens of other contaminants, up to 82 in total. The company also claims the filter can block particles far smaller than a human hair, though real-world performance will ultimately depend on usage and local water quality.

The ice-making system is where Samsung is leaning heavily into the “AI” branding. The built-in module can reportedly produce up to 1,000 ice cubes per day, equivalent to around 8 kilograms, and store roughly 100 cubes at a time.

Hygiene is clearly a major focus. The unit features electrolysis-based sterilization for internal pipes every few days, automatic monthly cleaning for the ice box and tray, and UV sterilization at the water dispensing outlet. The idea is to reduce manual maintenance while keeping both water and ice as clean as possible.

On the smart side, the purifier integrates with Samsung’s broader ecosystem. It supports Bixby voice commands, allowing users to control water temperature and volume hands-free. Voice recognition can even differentiate between family members and recall personalized presets.

Through the SmartThings app, users can fine-tune water output between 50 and 1,000 ml and set hot water temperatures up to 90°C. The front touchscreen adds another layer of control, showing settings, weather information, and quick access shortcuts. Up to 20 custom presets can be saved for things like coffee brewing or preparing baby formula.

For now, the Bespoke AI Ice Purifier is exclusive to South Korea, and Samsung hasn’t announced plans for a wider release. The product is priced at 2.39 million KRW (roughly $1,650–$1,780 USD), clearly placing it in the premium segment.

Ai+ launches NovaPods and NovaWatch lineup with feature-rich specs at accessible prices

25 February 2026 at 23:45

Ai+ Smartphone, a relatively new Indian brand, is broadening its portfolio beyond phones. The company has announced a range of affordable audio products and smartwatches under the NovaPods and NovaWatch names, while also teasing new smartphones to round out its growing ecosystem.

NovaPods Clips

The NovaPods lineup covers multiple price points, but the core hardware remains consistent. All models use 10mm dynamic drivers and carry an IPX4 rating for splash resistance.

At the top of the range are the NovaPods Clips, priced at ₹3,999. These adopt an open-ear, clip-on design that wraps around the ear instead of sealing inside it. The idea is simple: let users stay aware of their surroundings while listening to music. Ai+ claims up to six hours of playback per charge, extending to 16 hours with the case. The earbuds also support Bluetooth 6.0, low latency rated at 50ms, and touch controls.

NovaPods Clips
NovaPods Clips

The NovaPods Pro, priced at ₹1,999, take a more conventional in-ear approach but add active noise cancellation rated at up to 40dB. Ai+ says they offer up to five hours per charge (30 hours total with the case), along with six-mic environmental noise cancellation for calls, dual-device pairing, and a slightly lower 45ms latency figure.

NovaPods Pro

At the entry level, the NovaPods Go come in at just ₹699. They skip ANC but include dual microphones, touch controls, and up to 6.5 hours of playback (24 hours total with the case). The company is also leaning into brighter color options here, including Forest Green, Midnight Black, and Ice Blue White.

The NovaWatch Wearbuds (also referred to as Ai+ Wearbuds) is the most distinctive model at ₹7,999. It combines a smartwatch with built-in detachable wireless earbuds housed inside the watch body. The watch itself features a 1.43-inch AMOLED display with 466×466 resolution, Bluetooth 5.3 dual mode, heart rate and SpO2 monitoring, and even ChatGPT integration. There’s 2GB of onboard storage for music, while the 310mAh watch battery is paired with 25mAh batteries inside each earbud.

More conventional is the NovaWatch Active, priced at ₹2,499. It features a 1.73-inch squircle AMOLED display (466×466 resolution), a functional crown, Bluetooth calling, IP68 water resistance, and a 300mAh battery. Standard health tracking features are included, such as heart rate, SpO2, sleep monitoring, stress tracking, and women’s health tracking.

NovaWatch Active

All NovaPods and NovaWatch products will go on sale exclusively via Flipkart starting February 27 at 12 PM IST.

With this expansion, Ai+ appears to be building toward a broader AIoT ecosystem rather than focusing solely on smartphones.

Samsung takes aim at iPhone’s photo editing ahead of Galaxy S26 launch

25 February 2026 at 20:44

Just hours before Galaxy Unpacked kicks off, Samsung decided to stir the pot a little. The company dropped a short 15-second teaser across its social channels, and it doesn’t take much decoding to see who it’s aimed at. The target is clearly Apple, and more specifically, the iPhone’s photo editing capabilities.

The clip opens with a woman holding what appears to be an older iPhone model, complete with the notch and square camera bump. She’s trying to remove her ex from a shared photo using Apple’s built-in editing tools. What follows is a sequence of taps and retries that don’t quite go as planned. It’s the kind of messy edit most people have probably experienced at some point.

Then the scene cuts. The tagline flashes: “Can your phone do that?”

On a Galaxy device, strongly implied to be the upcoming Galaxy S26 series, removing unwanted elements from a photo happens quickly and cleanly. No visible artifacts. No obvious patchwork. Samsung doesn’t name Apple outright, but it doesn’t need to. The contrast is clear enough.

This isn’t new territory for Samsung. The company has a long history of taking playful (and sometimes pointed) shots at the iPhone. But this time, the focus is squarely on AI-powered photo editing. Apple’s on-devic Clean Up feature can sometimes struggle with complicated backgrounds or fine details. Samsung is positioning Galaxy AI as the more flexible, capable alternative.

The teaser also subtly leans into a broader theme Samsung has been pushing: creative freedom. Apple’s ecosystem is often described as tightly controlled. Samsung, on the other hand, wants to frame Galaxy devices as more open and adaptable — especially when it comes to generative AI tools integrated directly into the Gallery app.

There’s also a light nod to low-light photography in the campaign, though the main punchline revolves around editing.

Of course, a 15-second ad is one thing. Live demos are another. Whether the Galaxy S26 lineup actually delivers flawless object removal in every scenario is something reviewers will test soon enough.

In the meantime, interested readers can take a look at the early camera comparisons against the S25 Ultra, Vivo X300 Pro, and iPhone 17 Pro Max to get a clearer sense of what’s changed — and how Samsung’s new flagship holds up against the competition.

Nothing Phone (4a) Pink Variant Revealed With New Glyph Bar Lighting

25 February 2026 at 20:23
Nothing Phone (4a)

Nothing has confirmed a Pink edition for its upcoming Phone (4a), representing the brand’s first-ever pink smartphone. The device launches March 5 at 10:30 AM GMT during a livestreamed event from Central Saint Martins in London.

Nothing Phone (4a)

The Pink variant will join the already confirmed White, Blue, and Black options. According to Nothing, the colour achieves its distinctive appearance through tinted transparency layers that allow light to interact with the underlying resin, creating depth and texture. The model pairs a pink frame with silver buttons and a camera plate, with retail packaging following the same colour scheme.

Nothing Phone (4a)

The Phone (4a) will also introduce a redesigned Glyph Bar lighting system, replacing previous configurations with six vertically-arranged white LEDs positioned alongside the camera module’s right edge. A dedicated red LED signals recording activity. The system supports notifications, progress indicators, camera timer countdowns, and shutter confirmation while retaining the hourglass effect from the Phone (3) despite the single-column layout.

Nothing stated that the camera bump has been reduced compared to the Phone (3a) due to the use of a tetra prism telephoto lens. The Glyph Bar will also integrate with system-level features such as Android 16 live updates, expanding its functional use beyond notifications. To promote the Pink variant, Nothing has launched marketing campaigns in London, including graffiti installations across central locations and themed flyposters. The Nothing Store in Bengaluru has also received a pink-themed window takeover.

Leaked specifications suggest the Phone (4a) may feature a 6.78-inch AMOLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate. It is expected to run on the Snapdragon 7s Gen 4 processor with 8GB or 12GB RAM and 256GB UFS 3.1 storage. The software will likely be Nothing OS 4 based on Android 16.

Camera details point to a 50MP main rear sensor and a 32MP front camera. Battery capacity and charging details have not been confirmed yet. Full specifications and pricing will be announced during the March 5 launch event, which will be streamed globally.

Vivo X300 Ultra name appears in a global certification for the first time, may debut with X300 FE

25 February 2026 at 19:57
Vivo X200 Ultra

There have been reports that Vivo’s next Ultra-branded flagship—the Vivo X300 Ultra—will not be limited to the Chinese market. The global version of the Vivo X300 Ultra was spotted with model number V256 in the IMEI database in November 2025. Later, the said device was spotted on the EEC (Europe) and TKDN (Indonesia) certification platforms. These certifications only carried the model number and not its final moniker, but now a new certification has emerged revealing its model number and final marketing name together for the first time.

Vivo X300 Ultra, X300 FE SDPPI certified

Vivo X300 Ultra and X300 FE SDPPI certified
Vivo X300 Ultra and X300 FE SDPPI certified

As can be seen, the Vivo X300 Ultra and X300 FE have appeared in the database of Indonesia’s SDPPI certification platform. These devices have emerged with model numbers V2562 and V2537, respectively. For those unaware, while TKDN measures the percentage of local Indonesian content in a product, SDPPI certifies that a telecom or wireless device meets Indonesia’s technical and radio regulations.

The Vivo X300 FE has previously been spotted on multiple certification platforms, indicating that its launch may not be far away. While it has been approved in India among other countries, the X300 Ultra is yet to receive the country’s BIS certification.

According to reports, the Vivo X300 FE will be a rebranded version of the Vivo S50 Pro Mini, which debuted in China back in December 2025. As far as the X300 Ultra is concerned, the rumor mill has already leaked several details about it.

Reports have revealed that the Vivo X300 Ultra will have a 6.82-inch flat BOE OLED display with around 2K resolution, LTPO technology, and four-sided narrow bezels. Under the hood, it will feature Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 chipset and a massive battery of around 7,000mAh.

The X300 Ultra’s rear camera setup is expected to include an OIS-enabled 200-megapixel Sony LYT-901 main sensor, paired with a 50-megapixel Sony LYT-828 ultra-wide sensor and a 200-megapixel Samsung HPB periscope telephoto camera. For selfies, it will feature a 50-megapixel front camera with autofocus support. It may not feature the dedicated Action button, which was introduced on the X300 Ultra.

There’s a possibility that the Vivo X300 Ultra and X300 FE may debut together globally in the second quarter of this year. In China, the X300 Ultra is likely to break cover in March.

Galaxy S26 Ultra camera samples compared against Vivo X300 Pro and iPhone 17 Pro Max

25 February 2026 at 18:17

Early camera samples from the Galaxy S26 Ultra are already making the rounds. This time, the comparisons go beyond last year’s model. Beyond the S26 Ultra vs S25 Ultra camera comparison, YouTube creator Sahil Karoul has also posted side-by-side shots on X against the iPhone 17 Pro Max and Vivo X300 Pro.

The tests aren’t perfectly controlled. Framing isn’t identical, and conditions shift between shots. Still, they offer a useful early look at how Samsung’s latest flagship might position itself against two of its biggest camera rivals.

Galaxy S26 Ultra
iPhone 17 Pro Max

Against the iPhone 17 Pro Max, the S26 Ultra’s images appear noticeably more restrained. Colors lean natural rather than punchy. Apple’s image looks more contrast-heavy and immediately eye-catching. Samsung’s version feels closer to what you’d see with your own eyes. It arguably looks more true-to-life.

Galaxy S26 Ultra
iPhone 17 Pro Max

The comparison with the Vivo X300 Pro highlights an even bigger stylistic difference. Vivo’s Zeiss-tuned system, especially in its default Vivid mode, delivers saturated, high-contrast images designed to impress at a glance. They’re bold and social-media ready. Samsung’s output, by contrast, stays relatively muted.

In one shot of a vase with red artificial berries, the Galaxy S26 Ultra, S25 Ultra, and Vivo X300 Pro all struggle slightly to render the reds accurately. Vivo’s version not only looks the brightest and most detailed, but also slightly overexposed. Interestingly, some viewers have commented that the S25 Ultra’s handling of the scene actually looked preferable to the newer model.

X300 Pro
S25 Ultra
S26 Ultra

Overall, there isn’t a major shift in color processing between the S26 Ultra and its predecessor. In some situations — including this one — the S26 Ultra keeps the image a touch brighter and manages noise slightly better, but the differences are subtle.

On the technical side, the S26 Ultra appears to be using a 24MP shooting mode — enabled through Samsung’s Camera Assistant — instead of defaulting to 12MP binning like the S25 Ultra typically does.

In summary, Galaxy S26 Ultra seems to be evolving Samsung’s established camera philosophy rather than rewriting it.

Oppo A6 Series Gets Four New Models in China With AMOLED Display and 7,000mAh Battery

25 February 2026 at 18:03
Oppo A6

Oppo has expanded its A-series portfolio with four new models in China, including the Oppo A6 (PLS120), A6s, A6i+, and A6v. While the naming suggests entirely new devices, the lineup combines one upgraded variant with several rebranded or slightly modified models positioned at different price points. The A6 (PLS120) stands out as the most notable addition due to its display and charging improvements over the previously released global version.

A6 (PLS120): The Premium Variant

The China-exclusive Oppo A6 represents the most significant departure from its global counterpart. It features a 6.57-inch AMOLED display with 1080p+ resolution, replacing the global version’s 6.75-inch 720p+ LCD panel. An optical under-display fingerprint scanner replaces the side-mounted sensor.

Oppo A6

Charging capabilities have been substantially upgraded to 80W SuperVOOC and 44W PPS, compared to 45W and 33W on the global model. The 7,000mAh battery remains unchanged.

The device runs MediaTek’s Dimensity 6300 processor with LPDDR4X RAM and UFS 2.2 storage. Three configurations are available: 8GB + 256GB, 12GB + 256GB, and 12GB + 512GB, all supporting microSD expansion.

Durability is enhanced with IP68 and IP69 ratings. The camera setup includes a 50MP primary sensor, 2MP secondary camera, and an upgraded 16MP front camera. Video recording maxes out at 1080p/60fps.

Pricing starts at CNY 1,600 ($220) for the base model, CNY 1,900 for the middle tier, and CNY 2,100 for the top configuration.

A6s: Midrange Option With Compromises

The A6s uses a 6.75-inch 720p+ LCD display paired with the same Dimensity 6300 chipset. While it retains the 7,000mAh battery, charging is limited to 45W SuperVOOC.

OPPO A6s

The front camera has been downgraded to 8MP from 16MP. Memory configurations include 8GB + 256GB and 12GB + 256GB with microSD support. Despite overlapping specifications with other A6 variants, Oppo markets it as a distinct model.

A6i+: Rebadged Global Hardware

OPPO A6i+

The A6i+ is fundamentally a rebranded device, sharing its model number (PLT120) and specifications with the global Oppo A6. This naming strategy targets different market segments without introducing new hardware.

The device starts at CNY 1,500 for 8GB + 256GB.

A6v: Budget Entry With Reductions

OPPO A6v

The A6v (PLT130) makes several cuts to reach a lower price point. It features a 5MP front camera, a reduced 6,500mAh battery, and 45W SuperVOOC charging. Durability protection drops to IP64 from IP68/IP69.

This model closely mirrors the previously released Oppo A6t with updated branding, starting at CNY 1,200.

Oppo Find X10 Pro Max may adopt advanced 200MP Samsung HPC sensor with UFCC technology

25 February 2026 at 15:38
Oppo Find X9 Pro

Next month in March, Oppo will announce the Oppo Find N6 foldable phone. The same month could also see the arrival of the Find X9 Ultra and Find X9s Pro. The rumor mill has revealed several details about these flagships, and information about the next-generation Find X10 series is also gradually surfacing. In a new leak, tipster Digital Chat Station has revealed key details about what appears to be the Find X10 Pro Max’s primary camera.

Oppo Find X10 Pro Max’s primary camera details seemingly tipped

Oppo Find X10 Pro Max’s primary camera details seemingly tipped

According to tipster DCS, a new 200-megapixel camera sensor is currently under testing. While he has not specified the name of the Oppo flagship that will feature it, it could be the Find X10 Pro Max. The sensor is believed to be a Samsung HPC unit featuring an approximately 1/1.3-inch large sensor size, placing it among the larger sensors in the high-resolution category.

The leak suggests that it supports 4×4 RMSC technology, which rearranges pixel color data to improve image processing and enhance output quality. Another highlight mentioned is the inclusion of UFCC, or Ultra Full Color Capture technology, which is expected to improve dynamic range performance.

The tipster hinted that the sensor belongs to the ultra-high dynamic range segment and is built using advanced manufacturing techniques. Based on discussions in the comments section and contextual clues, speculation points toward this sensor being tested on the Oppo Find X10 Pro Max.

Oppo Find X10 series: What to expect

Reports also indicate that Oppo could be exploring a dual 200-megapixel camera setup for the upcoming Find X10 lineup, both featuring large sensor sizes. The lineup is expected to include standard, Pro, and Pro Max variants, followed by a later Ultra edition.

In terms of performance, the Find X10 could be equipped with the Dimensity 9500 Plus, which could be an overclocked version of the existing Dimensity 9500. The X10 Pro and X10 Pro Max could feature MediaTek’s first 2nm chip, the upcoming Dimensity 9600. The X10, X10 Pro, and X10 Pro Max are expected to debut in October this year in China.

Galaxy S26 Ultra vs S25 Ultra camera comparison reveal improvements ahead of launch

25 February 2026 at 15:37

As tends to happen ahead of major launches, a handful of devices appear to have slipped into the gray market. Reports suggest units are circulating in parts of Southeast Asia, where eager buyers have been willing to pay a premium to get their hands on the phone early.

Indian YouTuber Sahil Karoul is one of them. He shared an unboxing video, some hands-on impressions, and several camera samples across YouTube and X.

The creator posted side-by-side comparisons with the Galaxy S25 Ultra. And to be fair, these aren’t controlled tests. The framing varies slightly, and conditions aren’t identical between shots. Still, some patterns do stand out.

Galaxy S26 Ultra
Galaxy S25 Ultra

The Galaxy S26 Ultra images tend to look a bit brighter overall. Exposure appears slightly lifted, especially in harsher daylight and mixed lighting scenarios. If the rumored wider apertures on the main and telephoto cameras are accurate, that would explain the extra light intake. It could also simply be more aggressive processing.

Galaxy S26 Ultra
Galaxy S25 Ultra

Portrait shots show a similar trend. Skin tones look a touch brighter and, in some cases, more natural. That said, edge detection still isn’t flawless. Fine hair strands and tricky background edges occasionally show minor inconsistencies in the bokeh effect. Nothing disastrous, but not perfect either.

Low-light samples look marginally cleaner compared to the S25 Ultra — a bit less visible noise and slightly better shadow detail. The difference, however, isn’t dramatic.

Galaxy S26 Ultra
Galaxy S25 Ultra

The S26 Ultra retains the same core camera setup as its predecessor — a 200MP main sensor, 50MP ultrawide, 50MP 5x periscope, and 10MP 3x telephoto — with adjustments focused more on lens tuning and image processing rather than entirely new sensors.

If these early samples are anything to go by, Samsung’s approach this year seems evolutionary. The output looks a bit brighter, a bit cleaner, maybe slightly more polished — but not radically different. For S25 Ultra owners, nothing here immediately screams “urgent upgrade.”

Motorola announces Android 17 beta program in a surprising move

25 February 2026 at 14:54
Motorola Android 17 beta
Motorola Android 17 beta

Even though the Android 16 rollout hasn’t gone smoothly for Motorola devices, the company has shown clear signs it’s focusing on improving the software rollout. But I wasn’t expecting a dramatic shift this soon. The company has just announced the Android 17 beta program, becoming the first non-Google brand to do so.

It has been just a couple of days since Google released the first Android 17 beta. We were expecting third-party manufacturers to launch the Android 17 beta program in a few weeks, as has typically been the case in the past, but Motorola had a different plan. The Android 17 beta program is live for Moto Edge 2025, Moto G57, and Moto G57 Power.

The Android 17 beta program for these Motorola smartphones is currently available in select regions, as Motorola posted on the official forum. We’ve listed the devices and supported regions below, along with the direct link to the official beta program page.

  • Moto Edge 2025 – US
  • Moto G57 – EMEA (Europe, Middle East, Africa)
  • Moto G57 Power – India, EMEA

If you want to test early builds of Android 17, you can sign up for the beta program by following the steps mentioned below. Note that beta builds are prone to having bugs and errors. So, it’s best to install them on a secondary device.

It’s surprising to see Motorola launching its Android 17 beta program, starting with mid-range and budget models, not premium models like other brands do. It should expand to more devices in the coming days and weeks. We’ll keep an eye on the latest information and post them in the Motorola section.

How to sign up for Motorola’s Android 17 beta program?

  1. Create an account on Motorola’s community website (if you haven’t already).
  2. Visit the profile page and update your IMEI or serial number (SN) details.
  3. Opt in for MFN on your Motorola community profile.
  4. Always ensure that your phone is running the latest software.
  5. Go to the MFN Beta Testing Opportunities page to see a testing opportunity for your Motorola device.
  6. Tap on the registration link for your Motorola phone.
  7. Fill in the required details and submit your application.

Motorola may send emails containing more details about your beta application. Therefore, remember to check your inbox regularly, including the spam folder. You can also manually check for new updates via the Settings app.

Google has planned a few more betas ahead of the stable release, which is scheduled for Q3 2026. For Motorola, that’s a quick start to Android 17, but it will be exciting to see how things go forward because that’s where Motorola struggles the most. Last year, it began the Android 16 rollout earlier than most brands but struggled to deliver updates to other devices on time.

TECNO to Unveil World’s Thinnest Modular Smartphone Ecosystem at MWC 2026

25 February 2026 at 14:02
TECNO smart modules MWC 26

Key Highlights:

  • TECNO will unveil what it calls the world’s thinnest modular smartphone ecosystem at MWC 2026, built around magnetic modular interconnection technology.
  • The concept introduces instant attachable modules such as a power bank, action camera, and telephoto lens, allowing users to customize hardware based on usage needs.
  • Despite modular expansion, the device maintains an ultra-thin 4.9mm base profile, with engineering focused on keeping the overall size comparable to standard smartphones.

Launch Overview and Industry Direction

TECNO has announced that it will showcase its modular magnetic smartphone ecosystem at MWC 2026, following a pre-event announcement made in Hong Kong on February 25, 2026. The company describes the project as the world’s thinnest modular smartphone ecosystem concept, positioning it as a new direction for smartphone evolution.

The idea centers on flexible hardware that can adapt to user needs instead of remaining fixed. Through magnetic modular interconnection technology, users can expand device capabilities without permanently increasing size or weight. TECNO says the platform is designed to meet rising AI computing demands while maintaining a slim and portable form factor.

The ecosystem is presented as a concept platform rather than a finalized commercial product, highlighting the company’s long-term innovation strategy.

Modular Design Editions

The concept device will be introduced in two design editions: the ATOM Edition and the MODA Edition. The ATOM Edition follows a clean and structured design philosophy described as “Rational Order with Personal Expression.” It features a silver aluminum body combined with signature red accents, giving the device a refined and minimal appearance.

The MODA Edition takes a more expressive approach with a bold, geek-inspired aesthetic that emphasizes the modular identity of the phone. Both editions are designed to highlight personalization and user choice, reinforcing TECNO’s goal of adaptable hardware design.

Modular Ecosystem and Key Modules

TECNO plans to introduce around ten high-performance modules designed for different scenarios such as professional photography, gaming, off-grid communication, and battery extension. Modules can be attached or removed instantly through magnetic alignment, allowing users to switch configurations quickly.

One of the key accessories is an ultra-thin 4.5mm power bank module. It is designed to double usable battery life while supplying power to both the phone and connected accessories, helping users extend usage without carrying separate devices.

Another featured module is the action camera, aimed at creators who need flexible shooting angles while keeping the device lightweight. The telephoto lens module functions as a standalone imaging system, using the phone display as a live viewfinder. TECNO says it supports low-latency live preview and instant capture to maintain a smooth shooting experience.

Ultra-Thin Engineering and Build Design

Maintaining portability is a core part of the concept. The base smartphone measures just 4.9mm in thickness, while the power bank module adds only 4.5mm. Even when combined, the overall profile is designed to remain comparable to standard smartphones.

The device features a high-quality glass back panel with a laminated anti-glare matte finish. A polished metal frame adds structural durability while maintaining a premium appearance.

The rear panel is divided into eight modular zones that act as alignment guides, helping users attach accessories accurately and quickly.

Connectivity and Technology Architecture

The ecosystem relies on a precision magnetic array that ensures secure attachment between the phone and modules. Pogo-pin connectors are used for efficient low-heat power transfer, helping maintain stability and performance during use.

TECNO says intelligent connectivity enables automatic switching between Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, and mmWave communication depending on the module and task. This allows seamless pairing and data transfer without manual setup, keeping the modular experience simple and intuitive.

Future Platform Vision

TECNO positions the modular ecosystem as a scalable platform built for future expansion. Possible additions include AI-powered tools, storage modules, and lifestyle accessories that can further extend device functionality.

The company’s broader vision is to create smartphones that evolve with user needs over time, suggesting a future where hardware becomes more flexible, customizable, and scenario-driven rather than fixed at the time of purchase.

Realme 16 Pro series’ software support extended to 2032

25 February 2026 at 12:38
Realme 16 Pro series

Realme has announced an important change for its Realme 16 Pro series, expanding long-term software support for both models. The update policy revision improves device longevity and aligns the lineup more closely with premium competitors, signalling a stronger focus on post-launch value. While the phones were introduced earlier this year with a different update roadmap, the latest announcement reshapes expectations for buyers considering extended usage.

Updated software policy brings longer lifecycle

The Realme 16 Pro and Realme 16 Pro+ will now receive four Android OS upgrades along with six years of security patches. At launch, the company had confirmed three Android upgrades and four years of security updates, so this extension adds meaningful longevity.

Since both devices ship with Realme UI 7 based on Android 16, they are now expected to receive updates up to Android 20, with security coverage continuing until around 2032. Realme says the revision reflects its evolving product strategy and broader effort to strengthen long-term support across its portfolio.

This is not an isolated decision, as the company has recently extended software timelines for select Realme 14 series, Realme 15 series, Realme P4 series and some Realme P3 models. Applying updated policies to existing devices suggests a gradual shift toward more competitive update commitments within the mid-range segment. With rivals already offering similar long-term support, this move helps Realme remain relevant among buyers prioritising longevity alongside hardware specifications.

Realme 16 Pro, 16 Pro+ specifications

The Realme 16 Pro features a 6.78-inch AMOLED display, while the Pro+ variant gets a slightly larger 6.8-inch AMOLED panel, both offering 1.5K resolution and a 120Hz refresh rate. Camera hardware includes a 50-megapixel front camera and a 200-megapixel main sensor with optical image stabilisation, supported by an 8-megapixel ultra-wide lens. The Pro+ adds a 50-megapixel periscope telephoto camera with 3.5x optical zoom.

Performance differs between the two, with the Realme 16 Pro powered by the Dimensity 7300 Max chipset and the Pro+ running on the Snapdragon 7 Gen 4. Both models feature large 7,000mAh batteries with 80W charging. With extended software support now confirmed, the series strengthens its appeal for users seeking long-term usability, especially following recent pricing adjustments that place the devices at a more premium level.

OLED touchscreen MacBook Pro with iPhone-like Dynamic Island could launch this year

25 February 2026 at 12:30
Apple MacBook Pro OLED display release date

Apple appears to be preparing a major shift for its MacBook Pro lineup, according to a recent Bloomberg report. While near-term updates are expected with refreshed chipsets, a more significant redesign may be closer than previously anticipated. The spotlight is now on a rumoured OLED touchscreen MacBook Pro that could introduce iPhone-style features to Apple’s flagship laptop.

Bloomberg reports that Apple is working on a MacBook Pro model featuring an OLED touchscreen, possibly arriving toward the end of 2026. If accurate, this would mark the first Mac laptop with an OLED display and built-in touch support. The report suggests that Apple may replace the current notch with a Dynamic Island interface, similar to what debuted on the iPhone 14 Pro series.

On the MacBook Pro, the Dynamic Island is expected to house the webcam while also serving as an interactive software element. It may expand and adapt depending on the application in use, showing media controls, live activities and other contextual information. Third-party app integration is also said to be under consideration, bringing a more dynamic interface to macOS.

Alongside the hardware changes, Apple is reportedly refining macOS to better support touch input. Users may be able to tap or click on on-screen elements interchangeably, with menus and controls adjusting based on the method of interaction. Features similar to iPad gestures, such as pinch-to-zoom and faster scrolling, could be introduced across the system. However, the MacBook Pro is not expected to be marketed as a touch-first device, and the traditional keyboard and trackpad will remain central to the experience.

The OLED MacBook Pro models are said to retain the familiar 14-inch and 16-inch sizes while adopting a thinner and lighter chassis. Apple is expected to refresh the MacBook Pro with M5 Pro and M5 Max chips through the March 4 launch event. The OLED variants launching later in the year could move to M6 Pro and M6 Max processors built on a new manufacturing process, marking a substantial generational upgrade.

Tecno’s Modular Phone Concept is a Super Slim 4.9 mm Device With Magnetic How-Swap Attachments

By:Sean
25 February 2026 at 12:25
Tecno Modular Phone Concept

Just before the Mobile World Congress (MWC) 2026 event in Barcelona, Tecno unveiled a bold new smartphone concept that is built around the new Modular Magnetic Interconnection Technology. This is a system designed to rethink how hardware expansion works, so here are all the details.

Tecno Modular Phone Concept: Ultra-Thin Design Meets Modular Flexibilty

The Tecno Modular Phone concept is built around a sleek metal frame and matte glass back, with the rear panel visually divided into eight modular zones that guide accessory attachment. Another standout aspect is its ultra slim 4.9mm body. Tecno allows users to add modules such as a 4.5mm ultra-slim power bank or action camera. This sleek design helps the Module Phone Concept avoid turning into a bulky slab even with the accessories attached to the back.

Tecno Modular Phone Concept
Tecno Modular Phone Concept

The concept will be shown in two design styles, namely ATOM Edition and MODA Edition. Instead of the heavy “brick” modules seen in older modular efforts, Tecno’s approach is more about practical attachments that enhance functionality without compromising portability. Some of these new attachments include:

  • Power Bank Module: Adds extra battery capacity while preserving a slim profile.
  • Action Camera Module: Gives creators alternative angles and workflows for video/shooting.
  • Telephoto Lens Module: Uses the phone’s display as a live viewfinder for improved long-range photography.

This modular ecosystem is designed to solve a modern problem: how to expand hardware capabilities like AI computing, imaging, battery life, and others. Tecno’s modular concept uses a hybrid magnetic attachment system with a rectangular magnetic array and pogo-pin connectors for power delivery.

These connectors help keep power transfer efficient and manage heat more effectively than some old modular prototypes. Meanwhile, the modules communicate with the phone using a mix of Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and mmWave. We can expect more details to be revealed during the major tech event, so stick around for more.

Is iQOO 15R better than OnePlus 15R?

25 February 2026 at 11:34
OnePlus 15R

iQOO has just launched its latest gaming-focused smartphone, the iQOO 15R, and it clearly takes on the OnePlus 15R, which has been in the market for over two months now. Both phones promise cutting-edge performance, stellar displays, and impressive battery life.

However, with comparable price points and similar specifications, it begs the question: Is the iQOO 15R better than the OnePlus 15R? Let’s dive deep into their features to help you decide.

OnePlus 15R

Display

The iQOO 15R features a 6.59-inch OLED display with a resolution of 2750×1260 pixels. It supports a 144Hz refresh rate and achieves a peak brightness of 5000 nits. The device also includes features like 4320Hz PWM dimming and DC-like dimming to reduce eye strain, making it ideal for both indoor and outdoor use.

It offers an adaptive refresh rate ranging from 60Hz to 165Hz, which is highly useful for gamers and users who multitask. Its peak brightness reaches 3,600 nits, but OnePlus has added TÜV Rheinland Eye Care certification and brightness adjustments down to 1 nit for comfortable usage in low light.

Winner: The iQOO 15R is compact and might actually be better for game handling, and it also leads in peak brightness. However, the OnePlus 15R takes the overall lead with its adaptive refresh rate and display certifications, making it the superior choice for both gamers and regular users.

Performance

The iQOO 15R uses the Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 SoC and claims to achieve over 3.5 million points on AnTuTu 11. It includes a Q2 gaming chip that supports 1.5K resolution gaming with 144 FPS. iQOO uses a 6500mm IceCore VC cooling system with dual-layer graphite sheets, which helps reduce temperatures by up to 15°C.

The OnePlus 15R also runs on the Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 chipset. It includes a Cryo-Velocity Cooling system with a 3D vapor chamber and aerospace-grade insulation, though the cooling area is smaller than iQOO’s. OnePlus integrates a dedicated Wi-Fi chip for better connectivity, which helps maintain low latency during gaming and streaming.

Both phones come with up to 12GB of LPDDR5X RAM and 512GB of UFS 4.1 storage, ensuring fast app launches and smooth multitasking.

Winner: Both phones are excellent in handling games and overall day-to-day performance, and you won’t notice any difference in regular usage. However, the iQOO 15R takes the lead with its superior thermal management and dedicated gaming chip.

Software

The iQOO 15R runs on OriginOS 6, based on Android 16. The software focuses on gaming features supported by the gaming chip Q2, which enables 144 FPS gaming and 1.5K gaming quality. It offers smooth performance for gamers who need an optimized experience.

The OnePlus 15R runs on OxygenOS 16, also based on Android 16. The software includes AI-driven features like Google’s Gemini assistant and the Plus Mind feature, which acts as a personalized second brain. These features support productivity and enhance user interaction.

Winner: It depends. The iQOO 15R is better suited to gaming-focused users, while the OnePlus 15R offers more advanced AI-driven capabilities for productivity.

Cameras

The iQOO 15R includes a 50MP Sony LYT-700V main sensor with OIS, an 8MP ultra-wide lens, and a 32MP front-facing camera. The camera setup uses NICE algorithms and cinematic image enhancements to deliver vibrant photos and videos.

The OnePlus 15R features a 50MP Sony IMX906 main sensor with OIS, an 8MP ultra-wide lens, and a 32MP front camera with autofocus. The phone also introduces technologies like DetailMax Engine for high-fidelity photos, Clear Burst for action shots, and Clear Night Engine for low-light photography. The rear camera supports 4K 120fps video recording, making it a strong choice for videography.

Winner: Neither of these phones is focused on camera performance, and to be honest, they are quite similar. It’s hard to determine which is better without seeing real-world shots. However, the OnePlus 15R does offer slightly better camera specifications overall.

Battery and Charging

The iQOO 15R packs a 7600mAh battery and supports 100W FlashCharge. It charges up to 50% in just 33 minutes. The battery’s semi-solid-state technology ensures durability under extreme temperatures.

The OnePlus 15R houses a slightly smaller 7400mAh battery with 80W SuperVooc charging. It is designed to retain 80% of its original capacity after four years of use. The battery uses Silicon Nanostack technology, which increases energy density and extends battery life.

Winner: Both these phones are quite similar, but the iQOO 15R takes the lead here with its larger battery and faster charging.

Durability and Other Features

Both the iQOO 15R and OnePlus 15R offer excellent durability and premium build quality, but there are some differences. The iQOO 15R is protected by Schott Shield glass, providing strong resistance against scratches and drops. It also comes with IP68 and IP69 ratings, making it water and dust-resistant for everyday use.

The OnePlus 15R takes durability a step further with Corning Gorilla Glass 7i for added protection against impact. It also features IP66, IP68, IP69, and IP69K ratings, making it resistant to high-pressure water jets and extreme conditions. The use of fiberglass in the Electric Violet variant adds a layer of durability and unique aesthetics.

Both phones also include in-display ultrasonic fingerprint sensors and infrared sensors for enhanced functionality.

Winner: The OnePlus 15R offers slightly better durability with Gorilla Glass 7i and IP69K ratings, while the iQOO 15R still delivers a solid, well-protected design with Schott Shield glass and IP69 certification.

Design and Pricing

The iQOO 15R comes in two color options: Dark Knight and Triumph Silver. The Triumph Silver variant features a unique patterned back exclusive to India. At ₹44,999 for the base model, it is slightly more affordable than its competitor.

The OnePlus 15R is available in Charcoal Black, Mint Breeze, and Electric Violet. The Electric Violet variant uses fiberglass, which adds durability. The base model is priced at ₹47,999, making it more expensive than the iQOO 15R.

Winner: The iQOO 15R is more affordable, but the OnePlus 15R offers premium design finishes.

Which One Should You Choose?

Both the iQOO 15R and OnePlus 15R are exceptional smartphones. The iQOO 15R is the better choice for gamers, offering unmatched brightness and performance, advanced cooling, and faster charging. Meanwhile, the OnePlus 15R shines in design, software, and camera performance, making it ideal for those seeking a refined, well-rounded experience.

In the end, your choice boils down to priorities: gaming and value? Go for the iQOO 15R. Premium software and camera? The OnePlus 15R is your pick.

Xiaomi expands HyperOS rollout: 12T Pro gets HyperOS 3 update, 15 Pro gets a new beta

Xiaomi HyperOS update
Xiaomi HyperOS update

HyperOS 3, based on Android 16, has been rolling out to Xiaomi devices for a few months now. But there’s a version of HyperOS 3 based on Android 15, which will be released for select devices that aren’t eligible for Android 16. This started rolling out in China in December 2025, and now the global rollout has begun, starting with the Xiaomi 12T Pro. The Xiaomi 15 Pro, on the other hand, is receiving a new HyperOS 3.1 beta update.

Android 15-based HyperOS 3 now rolling out globally

It’s good to see Xiaomi pushing the Android 15-based HyperOS 3 update outside China. This will allow more Xiaomi users to access the latest features without upgrading to a newer model. For the Xiaomi 12T Pro, as spotted by Xiaomi Time, the HyperOS 3 update arrives with the firmware version 3.0.1.0.VLFMIXM.

It’s a major upgrade, and therefore, the download size would be a few gigabytes. It’s best to use a stable Wi-Fi connection for the purpose, and charge your battery to at least 40% for a smooth upgrade to HyperOS 3. To check for the latest update, go to Settings > My device and tap the HyperOS logo at the top.

Xiaomi 15 Pro is receiving a new HyperOS 3.1 beta update

If you’re running a HyperOS 3.1 build on your Xiaomi 15 Pro, a new beta update should be waiting for installation. The latest one, tagged with the firmware version 3.0.300.7.WOBCNXM focuses on resolving performance issues to improve the user experience. Don’t expect to see new features or major changes with the latest beta build.

The HyperOS 3.1 beta program is currently limited to China, so the latest beta build for the Xiaomi 15 Pro is also restricted to that region. We’ll let you know when the beta program expands to other regions in our Xiaomi section.

According to the tipster, the Xiaomi 17 Max’s engineering prototype includes upgraded speakers, likely using a dual symmetric 1115 speaker setup for enhanced audio performance. The device is also expected to retain an X-axis linear motor, which has reportedly become a standard feature in the series.

On the imaging front, DCS mentions a 200-megapixel large-sensor primary camera paired with a periscope telephoto lens. Other highlighted features include a flagship-grade large display, a symmetrical narrow-bezel design with equal sides, and a massive 8,000 mAh-class battery. The overall design language is said to follow a clean and minimalist aesthetic.

Previous reports have revealed that the Xiaomi 17 Max will feature a 6.9-inch flat OLED panel delivering a 1.5K resolution and a 120Hz refresh rate. Its massive battery is said to support 100W wired and 50W wireless charging. Like recent Xiaomi devices, the 17 Max is expected to run on HyperOS 3-based Android 16.

The 17 Max’s rear camera setup is said to feature a 200-megapixel Samsung ISOCELL HPE primary camera, a 50-megapixel ultrawide camera, and a 50-megapixel Sony periscope telephoto lens. For selfies, it could be equipped with a 50-megapixel front-facing camera.

Oppo has started teasing the Oppo Find N6 foldable phone for the past few days in China. Since the February month will end soon, the foldable phone is expected to break cover in March. In a recent Weibo post, tipster Bald Panda has revealed when it would go official. At the same time, reliable tipster Digital Chat Station has revealed additional details about its design and technology.

Honor Magic V6 and Oppo Find N6 launch dates seemingly tipped

Bald Panda’s Weibo post indicates that the Find N6 may launch on March 17 in China, with availability in other Asian markets expected shortly afterwards. While Oppo has not officially confirmed the timeline, the increasing frequency of leaks suggests that the announcement could be imminent. The Marc 1 highlighted in the above image is the Honor Magic V6 launch date.

Oppo Find N6 to be flattest foldable phone ever

According to DCS, the Find N6 could set a new benchmark for foldable design. He claims that TÜV Rheinland has tested the device and rated it as the “flattest” foldable phone it has evaluated so far, noting that the certification body has reviewed nearly every foldable currently available in the market. DCS attributes this to two key technologies: a seamless titanium alloy hinge and a self-healing memory glass solution aimed at reducing visible creases over time.

The tipster also hinted that another major global smartphone brand, which appears to Apple, may be working on similar self-healing materials, possibly inspired by Oppo’s approach, although no official confirmation has been provided.

Oppo Find N6 specifications (rumored)

Reports indicate that the Find N6 will feature an 8.12-inch internal folding display alongside a 6.62-inch cover screen for everyday use. The camera system may include a 200-megapixel primary sensor supported by a periscope telephoto lens, an ultra-wide camera, and a multispectral sensor. Two 20-megapixel selfie cameras are also expected, positioned for both folded and unfolded usage.

Under the hood, the device is likely to run on the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 platform in a 7-core configuration. It may house a 6,000mAh battery with support for 80W wired charging and 50W wireless charging. The foldable could offer up to 16GB of RAM and up to 1TB of storage, with rumours also pointing towards a variant equipped with satellite connectivity. A recent leak revealed that it will be available in purple, black, and white shades in China.

OnePlus 15T to support wireless charging, ultra-thin magnetic cooling accessory to debut alongside

25 February 2026 at 07:32
OnePlus 13s

Yesterday, a OnePlus executive confirmed that the OnePlus 15T will be launching soon. He also described it as a “dream phone” for those who prefer a compact flagship. Today, tipster Digital Chat Station revealed one feature of the 15T that was absent on the previous generation.

OnePlus 15T to offer wireless charging

According to DCS, the OnePlus 15T will be a top-notch flagship phone powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 chipset. He added that the device will support wireless charging as standard and offer full compatibility with Apple’s magnetic (MagSafe-style) accessory ecosystem.

To recall, the OnePlus 13T lacked support for wireless charging. DCS describes the 15T as a powerful small-sized device, calling it a “small powerhouse.”

In addition, the tipster says the brand will introduce what could be the industry’s first ultra-thin magnetic cooling accessory. The magnetic cooler is reportedly under 1cm in average thickness, making it notably slimmer than existing solutions.

DCS also shared an image to showcase the upcoming ultra-thin magnetic cooling accessory. The image above compares the new cooler (on the left) with a OnePlus 27W Freezing Point Magnetic Cooler (on the right), highlighting its significantly slimmer profile.

The side-by-side view emphasizes how thin the new accessory is, reportedly measuring under 1cm in average thickness, suggesting a more compact cooling solution designed for magnetic attachment. However, the new accessory does not feature an internal fan.

OnePlus 15T specifications (rumored)

Reports have revealed that the OnePlus 15T will feature a 6.32-inch OLED 1.5K 165Hz display, a 7,000mAh or 7,500mAh battery with 100W wired charging, up to 16GB of LPDDR5x RAM, and as much as 1TB of UFS 4.1 storage. For photography, it may feature a 200-megapixel or 50-megapixel main camera accompanied by a 50-megapixel telephoto camera and a 32-megapixel front-facing camera.

Spotify launches a cremation urn speaker, and yes, it streams playlists

25 February 2026 at 07:24
Spotify-cremation-urn-speaker

Spotify has teamed up with Liquid Death for what might be one of its strangest hardware experiments yet — a Bluetooth speaker shaped like a cremation urn.

The product is called the Eternal Playlist Urn. It looks like something you’d expect to see on a mantelpiece, except it’s not designed to hold ashes. Instead, it’s a collectible speaker with a built-in Bluetooth system tucked into the lid.

Spotify says only 150 units will be sold in the United States, each priced at $495. Buyers get a 7-inch by 11.4-inch urn-shaped device that streams music and little else.

A Bluetooth speaker dressed for the afterlife

According to Spotify, this is “the world’s first urn speaker that can stream music.” In a blog post announcing the collaboration, Spotify wrote, “Life needs the music. So does the afterlife.”

The idea is simple. Once you receive the urn speaker, you can create what Spotify calls an “Eternal Playlist.” Users answer prompts such as “What’s your eternal vibe?” or “What’s your go-to ghost noise?” Based on those answers — along with your listening history — Spotify generates a custom playlist that can sync directly to the speaker. The playlist can also be shared with friends and family, turning the urn into a kind of permanent soundtrack device.

It’s not the first time Spotify has ventured into hardware, though those efforts have been limited. In 2022, the company partnered with IKEA on a portable Bluetooth lightbox speaker with Spotify quick-play functionality.

Before that, it launched Car Thing, a dashboard accessory meant to make streaming easier in older vehicles. Car Thing has since been discontinued, and Spotify has yet to introduce a standalone smart speaker under its own brand.

Liquid Death, meanwhile, has built its reputation on absurd and sometimes morbid marketing. The canned water company has released over-the-top products before, including a life-size snowman coffin-shaped cooler that reportedly drew more than 800 bidders and sold for $68,200. The brand thrives on turning dark humor into limited-edition merchandise, and the Eternal Playlist Urn fits neatly into that strategy.
