The Lenovo Kaitian series is a line of commercial computers developed by Lenovo for the Chinese market. The series now has a new member called the Kaitian X5d G1d.

The Loongson chip also includes a built-in security processor and supports China’s SM2, SM3, and SM4 cryptographic algorithms. Lenovo also says the system enables full-process hardware encryption for storage and documents.
On top of that, the laptop has undergone source code-level auditing, and Lenovo claims there are no hidden backdoors and that it can handle vulnerability fixes independently.
For multimedia, the laptop supports H.264 and H.265 encoding and decoding, along with HDMI and eDP display output—just enough for high-definition video playback and basic design work.
In terms of hardware, the laptop ships with 16GB of RAM and a 512GB SSD, with support for upgrades up to 32GB and 1TB. It also includes a 70Wh battery and a range of ports, including USB 3.1, HDMI, and Gigabit Ethernet.

Oppo will unveil the new X9 series of flagship phones on April 21. MediaTek’s upcoming Dimensity 9600 Pro has previously been tipped to reach 5GHz clock speed. Now, a new leak from tipster Digital Chat Station (DCS) adds some rough performance numbers to the picture.
According to the insider, the Dimensity 9600 Pro could deliver Geekbench 6 scores of around 4200 to 4300 for single-core performance and around 12,000 to 12,500 for multi-core.
DCS notes that these numbers are early estimates based on engineering samples, so they aren’t final, but they do give an idea of where things might land.
For context, DCS claims the previous generation’s official figures were around 4,000 for single-core and 11,000 for multi-core. That puts the projected gains of Dimensity 9600 Pro in a noticeable range on paper, though not necessarily dramatic.

This explains why Qualcomm is rumored to launch Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6 and Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6 Pro as part of its dual-chip launch strategy. Even MediaTek is reportedly adopting the same strategy, offering the Dimensity 9600 and Dimensity 9600 Pro. The latter is confirmed by the core setup, consisting of four CPU cores running at 2.60GHz and four at 2.0GHz. Graphics are handled by the Mali-G615 MC2 GPU. Similarly, the device tested features 8GB of RAM and runs Android 16 out of the box.

Huawei has unveiled a new smart home accessory in China called the Huawei Smart Lock M2. The lock officially went on sale today at 799 yuan (~$117), but a government subsidy brings the price down to 679.15 yuan, or around $100. And it’s a bargain for that price.

The more notable addition this generation could be a new physical AI button on the side of the device. According to the leak, this button is designed for quick access to AI-powered features, with support for one-press activation in different contexts. It’s also expected to integrate with Xiaomi’s broader ecosystem, including smart home controls and even compatible electric vehicles.
That ecosystem angle is not new for Xiaomi, but a dedicated hardware shortcut could make those connections more immediate. The report suggests the button will be customizable, allowing users to assign different AI-driven actions depending on their needs.
The rear display is here to stay
