Samsung considering peak Exynos 2600 adoption in Galaxy S26 series: Rumor

7 November 2025 at 20:16

Samsung is gearing up to launch its new Galaxy S26 series, and fans are already curious about what’s coming. One of the most important questions is which processor the phones will use, and recent leaks suggest Samsung might be making a big change.

According to tipster @kro_roe, Samsung is considering using its own Exynos 2600 chip in most markets outside the U.S., China, and a few other Snapdragon-focused regions. In South Korea, the chances of all Galaxy S26 phones running on Exynos are very high.

This is notable because in recent years, Samsung has mostly used Qualcomm’s Snapdragon chips in many regions, reserving Exynos for only select markets. Now, it looks like Samsung is considering high Exynos 2600 adoption in the Galaxy S26 series.

The Exynos 2600 is expected to be faster and more efficient than previous Exynos chips. Built using Samsung’s latest and advanced technology, it could deliver better performance and improved battery life. This means users may get smoother operation and longer usage on a single charge.

Earlier leaks about the Galaxy S26 series suggested other upgrades too. The phones are expected to have improved cameras, brighter displays, and new software features

With the combination of new hardware and Samsung’s own processor, the Galaxy S26 could offer a more consistent and optimized experience for users in regions that get Exynos models.

Samsung’s move to expand Exynos adoption shows the company is serious about promoting its own processors. It can help Samsung control costs, improve performance, and strengthen hardware-software integration. However, some users may still notice differences between Snapdragon and Exynos models in certain regions.

If Samsung succeeds, the Galaxy S26 could mark a significant comeback for Exynos. It gives fans in many countries a chance to experience Samsung’s latest flagship processor. Stay tuned for more information.

Google Messages will show quick Insights with Gemini

7 November 2025 at 19:27

Google is working on a new feature for its Messages app called “Insights.” This tool will help you understand shared web links without even opening them. It uses Gemini, Google’s AI helper, to create quick and easy summaries.

When someone sends you a link, you can tap the new Insights button to see what it’s about. Gemini will look at the link’s title, description, and content, then write three short bullet points that explain the most important parts. These points will be simple, clear, and straight to the point.

Gemini will also mention whether it got the information only from the shared link or if it searched the web for extra details. At the end of the summary, it will add one short line as this could be a reminder, safety note, or question, like, “Would you like to know more?” or “Check official sources for updates.”

Google Messages Gemini

There will also be a setting called “Explore link topics with Gemini.” You can turn it on or off anytime. When it’s on, the Insights option will appear next to shared links in your chats.

Along with this new feature, Google is improving other parts of the Messages app. If you use two SIM cards, you’ll soon see the SIM name directly in the message box. This small change helps you know which number you’re using to send a text, so you don’t send messages from the wrong SIM.

Google is also giving the app a cleaner design. The chat details page will have each setting in its own card, making it easier to find what you need.

7 November 2025 at 17:59

Global pop icon RM of BTS has teamed up with Samsung to release a new short film that shows how art can brighten our daily lives. The film premiered during Art Basel Paris (October 24–26) and shows RM’s personal love for art as well as his partnership with Samsung Art TVs.

In the video, RM talks about how art helps him feel peaceful and inspired, and how it allows people to find meaning in simple moments. He shows how Samsung’s Art TVs, such as The Frame Pro and Neo QLED 8K, can turn any home into an art gallery.

Viewers can see some of RM’s favorite artworks, including Keith Haring’s “Dancing Dog,” which spreads happiness and energy, and fall-themed pieces like Lee Shinja’s “Spirit of Mountain” and Natasha Durley’s “Super Moon,” which bring the calm feeling of autumn into the home.

Samsung users in the UK can cut weekend electricity bills

7 November 2025 at 01:10

British Gas and Samsung UK have launched a new energy deal to help people save money on electricity. The Samsung Weekend Saver Fix gives customers extra hours of half-price electricity on Saturdays from 11 am to 4pm.

British Gas already offers half-price electricity on Sundays through its PeakSave program for customers with smart meters. With this new deal, customers can now save on both Saturday and Sunday, which makes it easier to do chores like laundry, cooking, or vacuuming when energy is cheaper.

To mark the launch, British Gas is also giving three lucky customers the chance to win free electricity for a whole year. This could save them around £1,755, the typical cost of running a UK home for a year.

Samsung UK British Gas deal

The deal is available for homes with certain Samsung products. These include washing machines, tumble dryers, fridges, freezers, dishwashers, ovens, and vacuum cleaners. Some Samsung electronics are also included, such as Galaxy smartphones, tablets, laptops, TVs, projectors, gaming monitors, and selected air conditioning or heat pump systems.

Since starting their partnership in 2024, British Gas and Samsung have worked together to help people use energy more efficiently and introduce low-carbon heating options. Samsung’s SmartThings app allows customers to control appliances, plan when they run, and check energy use easily.

The PeakSave program has already helped 1.2 million customers save a total of £30 million and reduce 1,606 tonnes of carbon emissions. With the Samsung Weekend Saver Fix, households now have even more opportunities to save money and energy during the weekend.

Google Messages increases pinned chat limit for easier conversation

7 November 2025 at 00:35

Google Messages has made a small change that could help a lot of people stay organized. The app now lets you pin up to 20 conversations at the top of your inbox, doubling the previous limit of 10.

Pinned conversations are useful when you don’t want to forget a message or when you want to keep important chats visible. For example, sometimes you get messages that you can’t reply to right away. By pinning them, they stay at the top of your messages list, even if new messages come in.

To pin a conversation, just press and hold the chat and tap the pushpin icon at the top of the screen. This is not the first time Google has increased the pin limit.

Google Messages Pin Limit

Image via Android Authority

When the feature first appeared, users could pin only three conversations. Later, it increased to five, then ten, and now 20. The new limit is available in both the beta version and the regular stable version of Google Messages, so most users should be able to use it now.

Obviously, having 20 pinned chats can also get a little crowded. If you pin too many conversations, new messages may get pushed down, which is exactly what the feature is trying to avoid. It might be a good idea to check your pinned chats and reply to some before adding more.

Even though it’s a small change, it can make Google Messages more helpful for people who have many important conversations to manage. Being able to pin 20 conversations in Google Messages makes it easier to stay on top of your messages.

Google Maps could soon help you find shady walking routes

6 November 2025 at 23:07

Google Maps might soon get a new feature that helps you stay cool while walking. Google is currently testing a new “Prefer shade” option in the app. This feature could let users choose walking routes that have more shade, helping them avoid the hot sun while getting to their destination.

The “Prefer shade” option has been found by Android Authority in the latest version (version 25.45.02.826664481) of the Google Maps app for Android. The report says this new tool will work only for walking directions.

Google Maps may even show how many minutes of your walk will be in the sun. The toggle for this feature was seen in the Trip Options menu, but it doesn’t work yet.

Google Maps Prefer shade-feature

Image via Android Authority

It’s not yet clear how Google will figure out which paths are shady or sunny. One idea is that Google could use LiDAR technology, which is already used by its Street View cars. LiDAR can scan streets and buildings to create detailed 3D maps. By combining this with information about the sun’s position and time of day, Google could predict where shade will fall.

Other apps have tried something similar before. In 2018, an app called Parasol offered shaded walking routes using LiDAR and sunlight data. Another app, Cool Walks, used the same idea to map shady streets in Barcelona.

This new Google Maps feature could be very helpful, especially during hot weather or heatwaves. It could also benefit people who are sensitive to sunlight or simply don’t like walking in the heat. If Google launches this “Prefer shade” option, walking could become a lot more comfortable.

  • Galaxy Z Fold 7 – F966BXXU6BYK7
  • Galaxy Flip 7 – F766BXXU6BYK7
  • Galaxy Flip 7 FE – F761BXXU6BYK7

Since these builds are for internal testing, the update is still in the early stages. It will take some time before Samsung starts public testing or releases it to regular users.

Samsung One UI 8.5

Although Samsung hasn’t shared official details yet, One UI 8.5 is expected to bring several improvements. Users can likely see new AI-powered features, smoother performance, and smarter ways to customize their phones. WhatsApp shares details on usernames and business IDs ahead of 2026 rollout

6 November 2025 at 20:44

WhatsApp is planning a big update in 2026 that will let people use usernames instead of phone numbers to connect. This means users can make calls, send messages, and start video chats without sharing their personal phone numbers. The feature is already being tested, and businesses are preparing for the change.

The username system is designed to make WhatsApp safer and more private. Each user will have a unique username that others can use to contact them. This allows people to connect easily while keeping their phone numbers hidden.

Along with usernames, WhatsApp is introducing a Business-Scoped User ID (BSUID). This is a special ID that lets businesses message users even if they don’t know their phone numbers.

WhatsApp Username feature

Image via WABetaInfo

The BSUID will appear in notifications and work with current and future versions of the WhatsApp Business API. Businesses can use this ID to manage chats, customer support, and automated messages while keeping users’ information private.

WhatsApp has asked businesses to update their systems by June 2026. Companies should check how they currently use phone numbers in their workflows, analytics, and customer support tools and make necessary updates.

Preparing early will ensure smooth communication when usernames and BSUIDs go live. Users can connect safely without sharing personal numbers, while businesses can build trust and engage more people.

By 2026, WhatsApp users will have more control over their personal information, and businesses will have new tools to communicate safely. Usernames and BSUIDs together promise a safer, simpler, and more flexible way to connect on WhatsApp.

Samsung Galaxy TriFold phone to launch in limited quantities

6 November 2025 at 18:57

Samsung is getting ready to launch its new tri-fold smartphone, a phone that can fold twice. However, only a very small number of these phones will be made at first, according to a report from TheElec.

Sources say Samsung has produced about 20,000 to 30,000 parts for the new device. This shows that the company still plans to release the phone before the end of the year, but the total number of units will be quite low.

Some of Samsung’s suppliers said they don’t know if the company will order more parts later. One supplier mentioned that Samsung wants to see how the market reacts before deciding to make more phones. In other words, the first release will be a small test to check customer interest and feedback.

Source – Chosun

Samsung reportedly showed the tri-fold phone during the APEC Summit in Gyeongju, South Korea, last week. Earlier this year, Samsung told suppliers it planned to make about 10,000 units in September, but that plan hasn’t moved forward. Suppliers said they expect Samsung to share an update about its schedule by December.

During its third-quarter earnings call, Samsung confirmed that the tri-fold phone will still launch within this year. The company seems to be taking a careful approach, releasing the device in small numbers to test the market first.

The new tri-fold smartphone could become an exciting step in Samsung’s foldable phone lineup. If customers respond well, it may lead to larger production in the future. For now, though, it looks like the phone will be released in very limited quantities

Google Maps levels up with Gemini’s AI upgrades

5 November 2025 at 22:55

Google Maps is adding new features to make navigation and exploring places easier and more useful. The updates use Google’s Gemini AI to give clearer directions and helpful information about locations.

The new feature is landmark-based navigation. Instead of just saying “turn in 500 feet” or showing traffic lights and stop signs, Maps can now use nearby landmarks to guide you.

For example, it could say, “turn right after the Thai Siam Restaurant,” and highlight that landmark on your map. Google will only use landmarks that are easy to see from the street, so you don’t get confused.

Gemini’s AI looks at Street View images and compares them with Google Maps’ 250 million places to make sure the landmarks are accurate. This feature is rolling out now as the default on Android and iOS in the US.

Google Maps is also introducing traffic alerts that work even when you are not using navigation. The app can notify you about traffic jams, road closures, or delays on your regular routes. This feature is available now for Android users in the US.

Moreover, there’s also an improved Google Lens inside Maps. You can point Lens at a location and ask questions like, “What is this place?” “Why do people like it?” or “Do they accept walk-ins?” Gemini AI will provide quick answers using information from Google Maps.

An updated Google Lens of Google Maps will roll out gradually later this month on Android and iOS in the US. Stay tuned for more information.

Samsung may have even more choices for Galaxy S27 Snapdragon chip

5 November 2025 at 22:15

Samsung has just started clearing up the confusion around the Galaxy S26’s chips, but the Galaxy S27 may make things even more complicated. Early rumors suggest that Qualcomm’s next-generation Snapdragon 8 Gen 6 could come in two versions.

For the S26 series, the Galaxy S26 and S26+ are expected to use Samsung’s Exynos 2600 chip in all regions. However, the Galaxy S26 will reportedly have Exynos in most countries, and Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 in some countries, including the US, Japan, and China.

Looking ahead, Qualcomm is reportedly preparing its next flagship chip, the Snapdragon 8 Gen 6, in two versions – Standard and Pro. Both chips will use TSMC’s advanced 2nm process, but the Pro version will likely have a stronger GPU and support faster LPDDR6 RAM.

Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5

Source – Qualcomm

Notably, the Standard version will probably power regular flagship phones. On the other side, the Pro version will be reserved for ultra-premium devices. This could make things confusing for buyers. Even if two phones have the same Snapdragon 8 Gen 6 name, their performance could be very different depending on whether they use the Standard or Pro variant.

For Samsung, it’s unclear if the Galaxy S27 Ultra will get the Pro variant or a slightly customized “for Galaxy” version. It is usually a bit faster but may not support LPDDR6.

If Samsung sticks with its current approach, this could mean bigger differences in performance between phones sold in different countries. With multiple Exynos and Snapdragon chips in play, knowing which Galaxy S27 model performs the best might not be simple. Samsung fans may have another year of confusion ahead with more options for the Galaxy S27 model.

Samsung’s Galaxy XR headset could expand to more countries next year

5 November 2025 at 20:32

Samsung’s new Galaxy XR headset, priced at $1,800, might soon be available in more countries. So far, it’s only on sale in the US and South Korea, but reports suggest that Germany, France, Canada, and the UK could get it in 2026. The company may also add more countries as production grows and the platform becomes more popular.

The Galaxy XR is part of Samsung’s push into extended reality (XR), which mixes virtual reality (VR) and augmented reality (AR). While $1,800 is still expensive, it’s a lot cheaper than Apple’s Vision Pro, which costs $3,500. This makes the Galaxy XR a more affordable option for people who want to explore XR without spending too much.

Expanding to more countries is not just good for Samsung, as it’s good for the Android XR platform as a whole. More users mean more developers will create apps and experiences for Android XR, which makes the platform stronger. This could help Samsung compete better with Apple in the growing XR market.

The headset offers exciting possibilities for gaming, work, learning, and entertainment. Samsung’s plan to sell it in more countries shows that the company is serious about making XR technology more widely available. Its lower price compared to some competitors could attract more users and help grow the XR community worldwide.

If the Galaxy XR launches in these new countries in 2026, it could mark an important milestone for Samsung. Wider availability would allow more people to try the headset and help Samsung and Android XR establish a stronger presence in the global XR market. Stay tuned for more information.

Gemini to offer more search options with Gmail, Google Drive integration

5 November 2025 at 00:26

Google’s Gemini is about to get a useful update that will make its Deep Research feature even better. New information reveals that Gemini will let you choose where it searches for information, such as Gmail, Google Drive, Chat, or even the web.

Previously, Gemini’s Deep Research could only look through files you uploaded or stored in Google Drive. But a recent APK teardown (via Android Authority) of the Google app for Android shows that you’ll soon be able to pick specific sources for your research.

You can have Gemini search your Gmail inbox for relevant emails or scan all your Google Drive files for documents. This gives you more flexibility and control over what Gemini looks at when gathering information.

Gemini more sources

A new Sources button will allow you to select which Google services you want Gemini to search. If you don’t want it to search the web, you can turn off that option. This is helpful if you want to avoid information from websites that may not be as reliable.

You can still upload specific files for research, but now Gemini can also search through all your Drive files or emails without you needing to choose them one by one. This new feature will make it easier to use Gemini if you need information from multiple sources at the same time.

As Google continues to improve Gemini, we may see more sources added in the future, like Google Photos. Stay tuned for more information.

Google Maps will soon help you stay in the right lane

4 November 2025 at 22:45

Google Maps is getting a smart new feature called live lane guidance to make driving easier and safer. This update will soon be available in cars that have Google built in, starting with the Polestar 4 in the US and Sweden.

Live lane guidance helps drivers stay in the correct lane while following directions. It uses a car’s front camera to look at lane markings and road signs. Then, AI studies what the camera sees and matches it with Google Maps in real time. This means the app can tell exactly which lane you are in and give you clear, personal directions.

For example, if you are driving in the far-left lane but your exit is on the right, Google Maps will notice this and tell you both with sounds and on-screen directions to move over before it’s too late. This can help you avoid missing turns or making sudden lane changes.

At first, this feature will only be available in Polestar 4 cars. However, Google plans to bring it to more car brands and countries in the future. The aim is to make driving smoother and help people feel more confident, especially on roads they don’t know well.

Even though Google Maps already gives good directions, live lane guidance takes things a step further. Combining smart AI with real-world camera views makes navigation more accurate and less stressful.

Google Maps will do more than just show the way, as it will also make sure you’re in the right lane to get there safely and easily. Stay tuned for more information.

Samsung Galaxy S26 Ultra’s case leak shows exciting design updates

4 November 2025 at 21:05

Samsung is preparing its new Galaxy S series smartphones, Galaxy S26, and Galaxy S26 Ultra is the most premium smartphone in the series. A new leak has given us a glimpse of the upcoming Samsung Galaxy S26 Ultra design.

The details, shared by @Mohammed_K_2010, show what the Galaxy S26 Ultra might look like. This leak includes images of the phone’s case, revealing some important design changes, especially around the camera area.

The most noticeable change is the camera bump. The case shows that the Galaxy S26 Ultra will reportedly have a camera island on the back, which is similar to what we saw on previous Galaxy Ultra models. The camera bump will be a little thicker than the rest of the phone. Three sensors will be placed within the camera bump, and two separate rings will be retained along with an LED flashlight in the middle.

Even though the camera bump will be large, the overall design of the Galaxy S26 Ultra still looks sleek and premium. The phone will likely feel high-end, just like previous Galaxy Ultra models. The new design gives more space for better camera technology, which will improve photo quality.

The right side of the phone will have the usual volume buttons and a power button. On the bottom, there will be a USB Type-C port, a speaker, a microphone, and an S-Pen slot, which is a key feature for the Galaxy Ultra series.

While the design doesn’t change too much, the leak confirms the return of the camera island of the Galaxy S26 Ultra, along with its sleek look. It also suggests that Samsung is ready to launch another premium smartphone. Stay tuned for more information.

Samsung preps counterstrike against $191M OLED patent fine in the US

4 November 2025 at 18:08

Samsung has lost a legal battle over OLED display technology and has been ordered to pay $191.4 million as a fine. The case, decided by a jury in Texas, involved two OLED patents owned by a company called Pictiva. The patents relate to improvements in OLED technology, which is used in many of Samsung’s products.

Pictiva, an Irish company, claims that Samsung used its patented technology without permission. These patents, originally developed by a company called OSRAM, were later bought by Pictiva, which is a part of a larger patent firm, Key Patent Innovations. The lawsuit, filed in 2023, argued that Samsung used these OLED improvements to make its products brighter, more energy-efficient, and with better resolution.

Samsung denied the claims, saying the patents were not valid. However, the jury disagreed, finding that Samsung had indeed used two out of five of the patents in the case. After the verdict, Pictiva’s Managing Director, Angela Quinlan, called the decision a strong endorsement of the company’s intellectual property rights.

Even though Samsung lost this case, the company is not giving up. It has said it will appeal the decision and has already started the process of asking the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office to cancel the patents involved.

This legal setback is just the latest for Samsung. Last month, the company was also ordered to pay nearly $445.5 million in a separate case about patents related to 4G, 5G, and Wi-Fi technology. With Samsung planning to appeal, the legal battle over these patents is far from over.
