Gemini getting ready for enhanced image editing
Google is working on making its AI tool Gemini easier and more powerful for editing images. These updates are especially focused on images created by Gemini, sometimes β βNano Bananaβ images.
Earlier, editing images in Gemini was quite basic. You could tap a pencil icon and use simple tools to highlight or mark parts of an image. After that, you had to go back and type what changes you wanted. This made the process a bit slow and less smooth.
Now, Google is improving this experience. In a recent test version of its Android app, a better editing interface has been spotted. The new version still has the old tools but also adds more options like resizing parts of the image and applying effects. Some of these features are not fully ready yet, but they show whatβs coming soon.

A text box is the biggest improvement inside the editing screen. This means you can now mark the image and describe the changes at the same time. For example, you can circle a part of the image and directly type what you want to change there. This makes editing faster and more natural.
This update may seem small, but it makes a big difference in how users interact with Gemini. It reduces extra steps and helps users give clearer instructions. These features are not available to everyone yet, but they may be released soon.
