Samsung plans to add Galaxy S26 camera tools to older devices
Samsung Galaxy S26 series has introduced some new camera software features. Even though the phone does not have many new hardware changes, Samsung has added useful tools that improve photography. The good news is that some of these features may also come to older Galaxy phones.
Virtual Aperture is one of the new features, and Samsung is planning to bring this feature to the Samsung Galaxy S25 series. At the moment, the Galaxy S25 phones only support Virtual Aperture on the main camera.
However, the Galaxy S26 allows this feature to work on the telephoto camera as well. Samsung has confirmed that telephoto support could be added to the Galaxy S25 lineup in a future update.

Virtual Aperture helps users control how much background blur appears in portrait photos. In professional DSLR or mirrorless cameras, photographers can change the aperture to adjust the background blur called bokeh.
This feature works through Samsung’s Expert RAW app. This app gives users more control over their photos and is mainly designed for people who enjoy advanced photography on their phones.
Older Galaxy devices may also get AI-powered document scanning. This tool allows users to scan documents directly using the camera app. Samsung said the Galaxy S26 performs better because of a stronger NPU, which helps with AI tasks. Still, the company is looking at ways to bring this scanning feature to older phones.
For now, Samsung has not announced when these features will arrive. However, the company has said that the new features are expected to be available for the Galaxy S25 series in the future.
