With just nine rounds played in 2025/26, Liverpool’s title defence in the Premier League appears to be over. Transfer activities should be judged calmly, but in the Petar Sucic case, there is no doubt that Inter made a real bargain.
The Nerazzurri invested in the young midfielder (born in 2003), who is destined for a bright future with the Serie A giants.
How much did Inter pay to sign Sucic?

One could even argue that Inter have already cashed in on the interest from the €14m, plus €2.5m add-ons, they spent to snatch him from Dinamo Zagreb.
The focus is not just on the brilliant goal he scored to kill off the game against Fiorentina on Wednesday, but also on the modernity of a midfielder who makes sharp vertical passes, makes dangerous late runs and has personality and technical qualities clearly superior to the average.
Sucic a smart Inter signing
Inter players Petar Sucic and Thomas Berenbruch during an internal pre-season friendly.
The fact that he was signed in February, allowing him to play in the Club World Cup last summer, helped Sucic settle in perfectly at San Siro.
In short, just a few weeks have been enough to label the Croat as a smart buy.
Juventus are three points below a Champions League spot, but Luciano Spalletti won’t only have to improve results, but also fix some long-term issues in the team.

The agreement is until the end of the season, but includes an option to extend in case of Champions League qualification. To reach the target, Spalletti have to fix some short and long-term issues that have been affecting the team for far too long.
So, what will Spalletti need to adjust in his tenure at the Allianz Stadium?
Attacking threat
One of Juventus’ main issues under Tudor was to simply create goal-scoring opportunities. Before the Croat’s sacking, the Old Lady had gone four consecutive matches without scoring, equalling an unwanted record from 1991. Sky Sport showed on Monday that Juventus are fourth in Serie A for ball recoveries high up the pitch, but are only 18th for chances created from such situations. This means Juventus were pretty good in their high press under Tudor, but then didn’t really know what to do with the ball in the final third. Tudor often rotated Juventus’ starting centre-forward during his tenure and perhaps a clearer hierarchy will help the Old Lady make sharper moves in the final third.

Lack of leadership
Is this something a coach alone can solve? Not necessarily, but Spalletti has proved to be good at developing players technically and mentally. Tudor insisted that Juventus had many leaders. In his final pre-match press conference, he mentioned Manuel Locatelli, Khephren Thuram, Mattia Perin, Jonathan David and Dusan Vlahovic as the current and future standout personalities in the dressing room. The pitch, however, has shown that Juventus lack players who can take responsibility in critical moments, and Spalletti will necessarily have to work on the mental side of things, not just technique and tactics, to build a team that can match the ambition and the tradition of a prestigious club like Juventus.

Work in sync with the club
This was one of the reasons that led to Tudor’s departure and something that Spalletti must work on alongside club directors, especially Damien Comolli. Naturally, the Bianconeri will have to make some acquisitions in the January transfer window to fill the gaps in the team and start bringing players suitable to Spalletti’s playing style. Juventus are still waiting to appoint a new sporting director, but whoever he is, he’ll have to base transfer decisions on Spalletti’s needs and demands. Having a clear identity on the pitch will also depend on the club’s work in the transfer market. Every top team’s success is based on shared projects and a common vision between the directors and those working on the pitch daily, but Juventus have lacked it in recent months and years.

Inter: Sommer 6; Akanji 6.5, Bisseck 6.5, Bastoni 7; Dumfries 6 (77′ Carlos Augusto N/A), Barella 7, Calhanoglu 8, Sucic 7.5, Dimarco 6.5; Lautaro Martinez 6.5, Pio Esposito 6 (77′ Bonny 6.5). Coach: Chivu 7.

Best Inter player: Calhanoglu 8 – Broke the deadlock with a shot from distance after some unreal saves from David De Gea. Converted a spot kick to make it three for the Nerazzurri. But his performance went beyond the goals: three key passes, 85% accurate passes in the opposition half (via Sofascore) and seven duels won. An all-round performance.
Lowest Inter rating: Pio Esposito 6 – No Inter player was actually below par. Esposito fought hard and would have deserved to be awarded a penalty kick in the second half. It’s the lowest Inter rating, but still a good performance.
Inter coach: Chivu 7 – The second-half performance was enough to claim all three points. The Nerazzurri were ruthless in every corner of the pitch after the break and continued to attack even after scoring the opener through Calhanoglu.

Best Fiorentina player: De Gea 7.5 – Four key saves which kept Fiorentina in the game until Calhanoglu opened the scoring from the edge of the box. The best one was probably the one with which he denied Bisseck in the second half.
Lowest Fiorentina ratings: Comuzzo, Viti and Fazzini 5 – The defence was shaking, to say the least. Comuzzo took a few too many risks inside the box and was lucky not to cause any penalty. Viti did it instead and even received a second yellow card. Fazzini was soft in every tackle.
Fiorentina coach: Pioli 4.5 – Fiorentina are still winless in the opening nine games. It was already meant to be a tough game, and Pioli’s substitution didn’t really help matters.
While there might have been plenty of speculation during October’s international break that Ruben Amorim could be removed from his position in the Old Trafford dugout, Manchester United have certainly claimed a recent boost. Barcelona defeated arch-rivals Real Madrid four times in 2024/25, but Real Madrid drew blood first by triumphing over Barcelona at the Santiago Bernabeu on Sunday. (Photo by Francesco Pecoraro/Getty Images)
Napoli: Milinkovic-Savic 6; Di Lorenzo 6.5, Buongiorno 5.5, Juan Jesus 6.5, Spinazzola 6.5; Gilmour 5.5; Politano 6 (81′ Elmas N/A), Anguissa 7.5, De Bruyne 6 (37′ Olivera 6), McTominay 7; Neres 6.5 (81′ Lang N/A). Coach: Conte 7.
Best Napoli player: Anguissa 7.5 – The second half was absolutely stunning. Anguissa dominated in central midfield and even scored the third goal for the Partenopei, finalising a perfect counter-attack.
Lowest Napoli rating: Buongiorno 5.5 – Same rating as Gilmour, but Buongiorno caused a penalty kick with a clumsy handball that could have had worse consequences for the Partenopei.
Napoli coach: Conte 7 – His argument with Lautaro is already a classic scene in Italian football, but Conte will rightly make headlines thanks to a perfect game plan. Napoli were happy to leave the ball to Inter and hurt the Nerazzurri on counter-attacks. The penalty kick in the first half, more than debatable, helped them, but the Napoli defending was even more resolute once they took the lead.

Best Inter player: Calhanoglu 7 – Converted a spot kick to keep Inter in the game and maintained a high passing accuracy despite the physicality and press from Napoli midfielders. It wasn’t enough to get a result.
Lowest Inter rating: Acerbi and Akanji 5 – Both poor in the build-up, but mostly unable to cope with Napoli’s counter-attacks, especially in the second half.
Inter coach: Chivu 5 – Inter were probably the better side in the first half and had a convincing reaction after Napoli had taken the lead. However, they showed no balance and were too exposed defensively after the break. Not even Calhanoglu’s goal gave them the push to go for the equaliser.
