US Samsung Galaxy S21 models receive December 2025 security update
Samsung has started rolling out the December 2025 security update for Galaxy S21, Galaxy S21+, and Galaxy S21 Ultra in the US. The update aims to make these phones more secure and run smoothly.
This fresh update is based on Android 15, and this series is not eligible for Android 16. Samsung has already slowed down updates for the Galaxy S21 series. But currently, the company surprises this series devices by releasing regular security updates, and the December 2025 security update might be one of the last updates before support ends.
December 2025 security update mainly fixes security issues. Samsung and Google identified around 68 security problems, and this patch addresses all of them. It also improves system stability to make the phones more reliable. There are no new features or major changes included.
Users of the Galaxy S21 series can verify the December 2025 security update in the US via the One UI build given below.

The Galaxy S21 series will not receive any further Android versions. While they are still getting security updates, feature updates have ended. The situation is different for the Galaxy S21 FE, which is running One UI 8 based on Android 16 and is expected to get One UI 8.5 next year. However, the Galaxy S21 FE will not get Android 17.
To get the latest security patch on your Galaxy S21 device, go to Settings >> Software update >> Download and install. Make sure your phone has enough battery and is not too hot before installing. Stay tuned for more information.
