Czechia April 2026: Skoda has 9 models in Top 12

The Skoda Elroq is up to a record #12 in Czechia in April.

22,397 new cars hit Czech roads in April, a solid 5.5% year-on-year increase. This leads to a year-to-date tally up 2.5% to 82,949. Local behemoth Skoda (+14.4%) beats its home market to remain at stratospheric heights: 38.4% share vs. 38.2% so far this year. Volkswagen (+8.5%) is also in good shape at #2 but the next seven carmakers are all in negative. Ford (-2.8%), Toyota (-5.5%) and Dacia (-6.2%) resist best but Mercedes (-10%), Hyundai (-19.2%) and most strikingly Kia (-43.4%) all struggle. Cupra surges 41.1% year-on-year to post a third Top 10 finish in the past four months at #10.

Model-wise, this time Skoda monopolises the Top 6, not the Top 7 as it was the case for the past three months. The culprit is the Superb (-19.5%) down to #9. The Octavia (-11.5%) leads the way above the Kodiaq (+59.5%) ranks at a record #2 for the 4th consecutive month, reaching a new volume record at 1,356. The Fabia (+21.1%) is up two spots on March to #3, leapfrogging past the Kamiq (+5.8%) and Karoq (+6.9%). The Scala (+39.5%) is in excellent shape at #6. The Hyundai i30 (-22.9%) is the best of the rest at #7, distancing the Tucson (+0.7%). Skoda also places the Enyaq (+115.7%) at #10, the nameplate’s first Top 10 finish since December 2020, and the Elroq (-6.1%) at a record #12, also reached inΒ May 2025.

Poland April 2026: Audi Q5 breaks into Top 10

The Audi Q5 is up to a record 9th place in Poland in April.

51,827 new cars hit Polish roads in April, a solid 10.3% year-on-year improvement. The year-to-date volume after four months is up 7.6% to 203,477. Toyota (-7.9%) isn’t able to surf on the positive market and drops to 13.1% share vs. 14.9% so far this year. Skoda (+5.8%) is catching up but remains far away at 10.1% of the market for the month and 10.6% YTD. Volkswagen (+16.6%) delivers the best performance in the Top 10 and ranks #3 like it does YTD. Hyundai (+13.9%) and Mercedes (+12.5%) also beat the market in the remainder of the Top 10. Further down, BYD (+172.5%), Mazda (+132.3%) and Omoda (+116.3%) make themselves noticed.

Model-wise, the Toyota Corolla (+4.6%) stays on top with 3.4% share, distancing the Skoda Octavia (+14%) by just 45 sales. The Kia Sportage (+29%) is back up to #3 and is the best-selling car with Polish private buyers so far this year. The Toyota C-HR (+10%) and Hyundai Tucson (+58.6%) follow. The Cupra Formentor (+40.9%) and Toyota Yaris Cross (+20.4%) also shoot up, but none as much as the Audi Q5 which according to our records breaks into the Polish Top 10 for the very first time at #9.

Previous month: Poland March 2026: Market up 20.4%, Volvo XC60 repeats at record #4, BMW X1 in Top 10

Croatia April 2026: Opel Frontera up to record 2nd place

The Opel Frontera is only outsold by the Skoda Octavia in April.

New car sales in Croatia drop -5.8% year-on-year in April to 8,465 units. However after a strong start of the year the YTD tally is still in positive at +5.2% to 25,203. Skoda (-4%) returns to its traditional pole position in the brands ranking with a strong 12.1% share. It is followed this month by Opel (+82.1%) up two spots on March to #2. Volkswagen (+0.6%) stays at #3 whereas Renault (-42.1%), leader last month and a year ago, is in complete freefall at #4. Hyundai (+3.4%) is the only additional YoY gainer in the Top 10, with Suzuki (-21.7%) and Dacia (-21.1%) hit the hardest. Further down, BYD (+636.8%), MG (+271.7%) and Mini (+204.3%) all post surreal upticks.

Over in the models charts, the Skoda Octavia (-8.2%) is back to #1 with 5.2% share, in line with the 5.1% it commands year-to-date. The new Opel Frontera is the performer of the month, up to a record 2nd place with 4.4% share. It ranks #6 so far this year. The Mokka (+158.6%) makes it two Opel models on the podium. #1 last month and a year ago, the Renault Clio (-50.7%) halves its year-ago sales and falls to #4 but poor results from similarity selling models means it is actually up to #2 year-to-date. First Croatian Top 20 finishes for the Volvo XC40 (#19) and Dacia Bigster (#20).

Previous month: Croatia March 2026: Renault and Clio in the lead, Opel up 119.2%

One year ago: Croatia April 2025: Strongest month in 6 years, Renault dominates again
