Austria June 2026: Hyundai up to #2, MG breaks records, sales up 22.9%

The MG HS is up to a record 4th place in Austria in June.

34,256 new cars hit Austrian roads in June, a splendid 22.9% year-on-year improvement. The YTD total is now up 15% to 164,529. Volkswagen (+5.2%) and Skoda (+15.8%) remain atop the brands charts but both trail the market. BMW (+27.8%) outpaces it slightly but it’s Hyundai (+119.4%) that delivers the biggest gain in the Top 20, up 13 spots on May to #4 with 5.9% share. MG (+79.2%) is up 11 ranks to #9 with 1,301 sales and 3.8% share. This is the first time MG crosses the 1,000 monthly sales mark (previous best 726 in June 2025), and also a record ranking (previous best #14 in December 2024) and share (previous best 2.7% in March 2025). Leapmotor (+756.8%), BYD (+105.9%), Fiat (+94.8%) and Mazda (+60.4%) also impress below.

Over in the models charts, the Skoda Octavia (+16.3%) signs a second win in the past three months but remains at #2 year-to-date below the VW Golf (stable), itself down to #6 for the month. The Hyundai Tucson (+144.5%) justifies the brand’s performance and leaps from outside the May Top 20 directly into 2nd place. It earns a YTD Top 20 ranking as a result at #15. The Tesla Model Y (-21.6%) ranks #3 but freefalls year-on-year. Record performance by the MG HS (+510.1%) scoring its first ever Top 20 finish, directly at #4. The BMW X3 (+269%) is pushed up to #5 by its new iX3 BEV variant (65% of its June volume). Outstanding performances also by the Cupra Born (+312.7%), Opel Frontera (+239.3%) and BYD Seal (+131.1%).

Turkiye June 2026: Renault Boreal lands at #7

The Renault Boreal is an instant blockbuster in Turkiye.

The Turkish new light vehicle market recedes -11.4% year-on-year in June to 105,041 units, leading to a H1 2026 tally down -8.2% on a record H1 2025 total to 558,179. Once again Renault (+55.7%) goes completely agains the market with a stellar YoY uptick. It is followed by Fiat (-2.4%) improving its share to 9.3% and Volkswagen (-26.7%) in trouble. Peugeot (-10.8%) and Citroen (-12.4%) evolve roughly around the market evolution but Toyota (-19.8%) falls faster at #6. Local EV maker Togg (+45.4%) surges ahead to repeat at #9 with Hyundai (+15.2%) the only additional gainer in the Top 10. Contrary to most of worldwide markets, Tesla is off -94.5% to #30 this month.

The Renault Clio (+22.4%) remains the most popular vehicle in the country but is threatened by the Fiat Egea Sedan (+34.9%) ending the month just 65 units below. The Renault Megane Sedan (+7.9%) is down one spot on May to #3 but stays at #2 year-to-date. The Togg T10X (-5.3%) is up to #4 but falls year-on-year while the Toyota Corolla (+40.2%) rounds out the Top 5 ahead of the Renault Duster (+180.1%). The event of the month is the arrival directly at #7 by the new locally produced Renault Boreal, based on the Dacia Bigster and exclusively sold outside Europe. Notice also the KG Mobility Torres (+143.4%) breaking into the Top 10 for what is believed to be the first time at #8.Β

Uruguay June 2026: Another record market, Chevrolet dislodges BYD to deliver 1st win this year

Chevrolet holds 11.1% of the Uruguayan market in June vs. 11% for BYD.

It’s a new record for Uruguayan new light vehicle sales, at +30.8% year-on-year to 6,471 units, believed to be the highest ever June volume. The year-to-date tally is up 19.6% to 36,790, here too a new record at this stage of the year. This month BYD (+57.2%) loses its pole position to Chevrolet (+51.6%) for 8 sales. This is Chevrolet’s first monthly win so far, but it remains a distant third YTD. Fiat (-21.3%) and Renault (-13.8%) suffer from particularly high year-ago volumes and both sink. In contrast Geely (+630.8%) posts another surreal YoY lift and repeats at a record 5th place. Suzuki (+285.4%), Omoda (+227.3%) and Toyota (+96.2%) also outpace the market in the remainder of the Top 10. 37 out of the 66 brands selling at least one unit this month are Chinese, and account for 44.3% share vs. 26.9% in June 2025 thanks to sales up 115.2% to 2,866.

Previous month: Uruguay May 2026: Record market, Geely #5, Chinese up 105.2% to 47.4% share

Brazil June 2026: Strongest market in 13 years, BYD, Geely and Jaecoo at record high

The Geely EX2 breaks into the Brazilian Top 20 for the first time in June.

The Brazilian new light vehicle market continues to surge ahead in June at +29.4% year-on-year to 260,604 units. This way, the year-to-date result halfway through the year is up 20.3% to 1,360,634. This is now well above pre-pandemic levels (1,248,299 sales over H1 2019). In fact, this is the highest June volume in 13 years, since the 302,896 registrations of June 2013. The June all-time record is 340.706 in 2012. As for the YTD tally, it is at its best in 12 years, since the 1,582,634 units of H1 2014. TheΒ H1 record dates back to 2011 at 1,638,078.

The Top 3 brands, although all delivering double-digit gains, fall short of the market’s growth rate. Fiat is up 17.3% to 18.8% share vs. 9.6% at home in Italy. The Italian carmaker holds 19.9% of the market YTD. Volkswagen (+23.9%) and Chevrolet (+21.6%) complete the podium while BYD (+160.4%) soars to repeat at a record 4th place and equals its share record at 8.2%. BYD now also holds the #4 spot YTD above Hyundai (+1.5%). Toyota (-2.7%) underperforms at #5. Caoa Chery (+50.8%) is back inside the Top 10 whereas GWM (+122.7%) slips out of it despite a fantastic YoY evolution. Newcomer Geely breaks all its records at #13 with 5.833 sales and 2.2% share, and the same goes for Jaecoo up 618.6% to #16 with 2,738 units and 1.1% share.

Model-wise, the Fiat Strada (+24.7%) easily holds onto the top spot with 5.5% share vs. 6.1% so far this year. The VW T-Cross (+36.2%) overtakes its stablemate the VW Polo (-4.8%) but the latter keeps the #2 rank YTD. The Fiat Argo (+35.9%) is back up one spot to #4 while the VW Tera (+263.6%) celebrates one year in market by lodging its best result since January at #5. The BYD Dolphin Mini (+237.5%) manages a 4th straight Top 10 finish at #8 while for the BYD Dolphin (+269.9%) it’s a maiden Top 10 at #10. The Geely EX2 is the best-selling recent launch and breaks into the Brazilian Top 20 for the first time at #17, accounting for 75% of Geely sales this month.
