Google’s Android 17 Beta 2 update is now live – Check out new features and bug fixes
Google has released Android 17 Beta 2 for Pixel phones and tablets. This is only two weeks after the first Beta. The update brings new tools, privacy improvements, and fixes for many problems. It makes devices more stable and easier to use.
Android 17 Beta 2 update is live for Pixel works on Pixel 6, 6 Pro, 6a, 7 series, 8 series, 9 series, 10 series, Pixel Fold, and Pixel Tablet. It is also available for the Android Emulator. Users can join the Android Beta Program to get the update directly on their devices.
What’s new in Android 17 Beta 2
This Beta 2 includes features to make using phones easier. You can now bubble apps by long-pressing the app icon. On big screens, there is a bubble bar to keep all bubbles organized. The EyeDropper tool lets apps pick colors from the screen without extra permissions. The Contacts Picker gives temporary access to contacts, so apps don’t need full access.

Touchpads now work like mice, making gestures smoother. The Interactive Chooser helps apps adjust their layout so menus and options appear in the right place.
The Handoff API lets you continue work on another device, like moving from your phone to a tablet. Indoor navigation is improved with Ultra-Wideband (UWB), and WiFi-based proximity detection is better. Apps can also check data speeds to improve video or music streaming.
Android 17 Beta 2 fixes many problems from before. Apps no longer crash as often, and UI glitches and freezes are reduced. SMS OTP messages are delayed for safety. Pixel devices users can try out new features by participating in beta program. Stay tuned for more information.
